I had an excellent experience at Shangri-La, and I especially want to thank Kate for her outstanding assistance. From the beginning, she was incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely helpful in helping me secure a dinner reservation. What could have been a stressful process was made completely smooth and effortless because of her efficiency and warm approach. Kate went above and beyond to ensure everything was arranged properly, and her responsiveness and attention to detail really stood out. It’s rare to come across someone who combines professionalism with such a personable and welcoming attitude. She made me feel genuinely valued as a guest, and her service left a very positive impression even before the dinner itself. Experiences like this are what make Shangri-La stand out, and Kate is a great example of the high standard of hospitality the brand is known for. I truly appreciate all her help and would like to sincerely thank her for making the experience such a pleasant one. Highly commendable service.

Our stay at Shangri-La Singapore was overall a lovely experience, especially as a family traveling with kids. The hotel is very well set up for families, and it truly shows in the thoughtful facilities and attentive service from the staff throughout our stay. One of the highlights was definitely the Asian breakfast buffet. The selection is generous and well-executed, with plenty of local flavors to enjoy. However, if you’re staying longer than three days, you might notice that the menu doesn’t vary much, which can make it feel a bit repetitive over time. That said, the other restaurants within the hotel are excellent and maintain a high standard, offering good alternatives when you want a change from the buffet. For families, Buds by Shangri-La is a fantastic play area—our kids absolutely loved it. Just keep in mind that access isn’t included in all room bookings, and you’ll need to reserve sessions in advance during your stay. Another great feature is Splash Zone Shangri-La, which adds a lot of fun for children. However, being outdoors, it can be affected by the tropical weather, and I do wish it opened a bit earlier than 9 AM to make the most of the day. Overall, despite a few minor points, our stay was very enjoyable. The staff were warm, helpful, and consistently supportive, which made the experience even more memorable.
The Shangri-La Apartments are a delightful and authentic Singaporean experience. We have stayed at the Shangri La a number of times now and it never disappoints. The apartments are a tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Singapore while having the convenience or Orchard on your doorstep. The building is older which means the room size is generous and the sound proofing is excellent. The facilities are meticulously cared for - lush gardens, clean pools and luxurious common areas with an elegant old Singapore charm - the type my grand parents would reminisce about. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. For families the Shangri La offers a holiday all on its own - a place core memories are made. You could stay here and never need to leave with everything a family needs onsite and thoughtful touches such as excellent kids room service options, quality cots and high chairs and bottle sterilisers available, that mean parents get a break too. Bar far though, the thing that creates the magic at the Shangri La are the staff - they all seems to genuinely love their jobs. We have travelled with children all over the world and can say their warmth and dedication to going above and beyond is truly exceptional. They can help resolve any problem relating to your travels without a fuss and are helpful without being intrusive. They are amazing with children and try hard to curate an enjoyable experience with things like taking note of birthdays, greeting them by name and offering local advice and insights wherever possible. They make you feel like family. Whether for short or long stays we can highly recommend the Shangri La Apartments.
Had a great stay at Shangri-La Singapore. The room was great, clean and welcoming. The view was nice. The bed is very comfortable. The hotel is situated in a great location, they have a shuttle to ION Orchard which makes everything much easier since you can take the MRT basically anywhere from ION Orchard. Beautiful hotel and location. The gym was great and the Spa as well.
Review of Shangri-La Takeaway Café & Bakery I used to enjoy visiting Shangri-La Singapore regularly, especially The Rose Veranda and The Line Restaurant. Even now, I still make trips to Shang Café for my favourite bakes, particularly the Salted Caramel Cube and Nutella Cube, which I usually rely on to satisfy my cravings. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a major let-down. The hospitality and friendliness I once associated with Shangri-La were noticeably absent. One of the staff members came across as rude, and to make matters worse, my Salted Caramel Cube was damaged during handling. Instead of replacing it, the staff simply wrapped it up and passed it to me. Thankfully, I checked before leaving. I also ordered a Yuzu Lemonade Soda and requested less ice. What I received was a cup with less ice — but also not filled to the top, which felt unreasonable. The female staff member who prepared the drink gave me a dismissive attitude when handing it over, adding to the unpleasant experience. This visit was disappointing, especially given Shangri-La’s reputation for service excellence. While I still enjoy their bakes, the poor service and lack of care during this visit have left a negative impression.
