Hotel Bencoolen@hong Kong Street

We booked 5 nights here and was given a room in the new wing. We arrived in the morning and since our room was not ready, we left our bags to go to the mall and kill time. Their check in is at 3pm but they let us in at 1PM without extra cost which was really nice. The location of the hotel is excellent, walking distance to clarke quay with alot or restaurants close by. The room is small but we did not expect it to be bigger anyway. The king size bed is a good size for a family with a 5-year old. The bed is comfortable and it feels clean and new. There is drinking water in the room which is amazing especially with how warm Singapore is. The breakfast is simple but enough for us to start the day. The coffee is not drinkable for me but it was not a big deal. The problem for us is the eating area. It is very small and packed with guests. It feels like we are being rushed because there are guests waiting to sit down.

Booked for 1 night. I rate the service lower because the receptionist doesn’t seem that welcoming made my partner abit uncomfortable but the room made up for it to me ,enough space for me it was nice and quiet, really cozy. I like that the rooms is in a separate building from the service center so you got privacy , I really appreciate the privacy which is gd. They mentioned free pool access but they didnt show me the pool directions. Room was clean , my partner and I enjoyed the hot tub . Overall great I would go again , thank you .

Location to Bemcoolen and Dhoby gaut snd Fort Canning was the only saving grace ! Photos were deceiving Mum had late check in 10pm and at 12pm had a shower with the sprinklers going off No apology, no decrease in price despite booking for 12 days Cleaning waa atrocious with mould on tiles in shower Poor maintenance in stairwell. Poor cleaning Instructions to get to laundry was just behind the complex or parallel road too us I would never stay again in his crap hotel should be downgraded to 1 start

This really is only a 2-star Hotel. Don't let the professional photos and 'rave' reviews fool you. I booked a Deluxe Superior room for two nights and let me tell you the room was neither deluxe nor superior. I was 'upgraded' to the new section next to the original building and given room 3033. First the size. It was only big enough for one person and the decor was depressing. Screamed cheap. But for SGD 170 per night, I was hoping to get something at least pleasant. I was fooled. The bathroom was so tiny that when sitting on the toilet by knees hit the wall in front of it. The shower was so tight that I had to breathe in to squeeze past the door to get into it. But it was only for two nights - I could put up with it. Then there's the construction noise. The building next door is being renovated so from 9am-6pm, constant hammering and drilling - don't expect to have any peace during the day. But at least there's a pool to cool off in. No. It's closed for 'renovation'. It's not even a pool but the size of a spa and no renovation was happening it's just closed and looks very sad. Dead plants, old, cracked decking. Again, nothing like the photos shown and no mention of this on Agoda. And the free breakfast? Don't get excited. At least there was bread and jam.
