What a fantastic tour with many surprises! We traveled across Siem Reap to experience the best in local street food, visiting authentic spots used by locals as well as wonderful eateries and bars near the city center. Our guide, Hong, was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable, explaining the background, culture, and ingredients for each dish we tried. There was an ample amount of food throughout the tour, paired with a constant supply of soft drinks or cold beer. We ate things we never expected to try and gained an insight into why and how the locals eat everything. Highly recommend this tour and guide Hong to anyone looking to go beyond the usual tourist spots!

Itinerary
Start at a legendary street-side grill where the same family has been cooking smoky Cambodian beef skewers for more than 45 years. Taste the skewers and hear the story behind this much-loved local tradition.
Discover a humble Cambodian rice porridge with a powerful story. Learn how this simple dish became a symbol of resilience and resourcefulness during one of Cambodia’s darkest periods, and taste the version still prepared today.
Explore the edge of Siem Reap’s night market, where tropical fruits, unusual ingredients and local snacks come alive after dark. Try something a little adventurous and discover some of Cambodia’s more unexpected flavours.
We then head to our favorite family-run roadside stall to savor two quintessential Cambodian dishes, a perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty and spicy.
Head down a backstreet to one of our tuk tuk driver’s personal favourites. Try a uniquely Cambodian dish that most visitors would never know to look for, while hearing why it holds a special place in local food culture.
Try one of Cambodia’s most intriguing flavour combinations: tender beef cooked with fresh red ants. Discover how ants are used in Cambodian cooking to add a distinctive sourness and depth of flavour, and why this unusual dish is a local favourite.
Continue to a bustling local seafood spot. Sample fresh seafood paired with Cambodia’s prized Kampot pepper and soak up the atmosphere alongside local diners.
Conclude our evening in a hidden garden oasis, sipping on a creative cocktail or mocktail inspired by local Cambodian flavors. Choose to stay and enjoy more drinks, explore the vibrant pub street, visit our favorite speakeasy, or return to your accommodation, richer in knowledge of not only Cambo cuisine, but also history, culture and everyday life.

Absolutely fantastic tour with Hong! So very informative and friendly. The food spots were gems and a great way to dive into the Siem Reap food scene.
We had an absolutely brilliant time on this food tour! Hong, our tour guide, was excellent! It wasn’t just a tour to try Cambodian street food - she shared the “origin” story of each dish and that really helped us appreciate how each dish was put together and its taste. Along the way we learned about how Cambodians in the past and in the present day live and a bit about the local culture which really made the whole food tour so enriching for us. There is a lot of food to sample so please come hungry! Some of the foods are “exotic” by western standards but come with an open mind! Food hygiene was good - we didn’t have any issues with any of the foods at all - not even a twinge of discomfort during or after. It’s absolutely a marvelous tour.
We had a fantastic evening on this food tour! There was an incredible amount of food, ranging from delicious traditional dishes to some far more adventurous foods. Visiting the local markets was a highlight, and ending the evening with a cocktail was a perfect finish. Our guide Hong was wonderful. She didn’t just introduce us to Cambodian food—she explained the history, culture, and traditions behind what we were eating, which made the experience much more meaningful. Come hungry and be willing to try something new. Highly recommended!
Don't miss this! It was an unforgettable evening full of delicious authentic Cambodian food outside the typical touristy places. On my own I never would have tried or even found pretty much any of the dishes (grilled skewered stuffed frog for example or soup with snails). And you left absolutely stuffed as well, since there were so many tastings. Miss Hong, my guide, was so friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and really made the whole night fun. I learned so much both about Cambodian food and culture. Our driver was also amazing—very safe and kept me comfortable the entire time. Top notch organisation as well. I booked the tour last minute through the website and it worked our great. The company contacted me immediately and was very responsive. They even ran the tour even though I was the only participant
Absolutely wonderful- great value for money and a good way to indulge in Cambodian food with local tour guide. Highly recommend!
Our tour started with a tranquil gondola trip on the lovely lake outside Angkor with Sarath. It then went up a gear as we headed to a night market by Tuk Tuk where we sampled excellent street food navigated with enthusiasm by Sarath. From there we went to a number of local restaurants serving a variety of dishes introduced with gusto by our guide Sarath. Our tour ended at the splendid Wild cocktail bar, a lovely venue with drinks to match. All the while Sarath imparted her take on Cambodian life with a level of sparkling enthusiasm which we won’t forget.
Our progressive degustation experience in Siem Reap with Urban Forage was nothing short of exceptional. The “mystery tour” concept made the night even more exciting — we loved not knowing where we were going next and being continually surprised. From the moment we started, we were treated like VIPs. Each venue offered something completely different, showcasing a range of incredible flavours and settings that we never would have discovered on our own. What really stood out was that the venues were carefully chosen not just for their food, but for their “do good” purpose supporting local communities. It made the whole experience feel even more meaningful. The attention to detail and seamless organisation made the evening feel effortless and special. This experience went above and beyond every expectation and is the perfect way to explore Siem Reap’s food scene in a unique, thoughtful, and memorable way. Highly recommend to anyone wanting something a bit special.
I booked a midweek food tour as a solo traveller and it was the best decision I made. I was the only one on the tour so my guide Rorm made sure to tailor the experience and really brought the food to life with passion and stories behind each dish. My Tuktuk driver was also incredibly kind, informative and helpful making it even more fun. We tried a variety of dishes, I was appreciative of the amount of food and knowledge of Khmer culture and experience. I felt welcome even as a barang…. Great value for money and I’d highly recommend to those solo travelling or in groups.
Our guide Rorm was great. So kind and knowledgeable about the culture and food. He took some detours to give us a special experience. The highlight was trying durian and stuffed frog. The food was plentiful and interesting and the tuk tuk was very fun.
The tour guide was exceptional - well informed, funny and obliging. The whole experience was a whole lot of fun. The food was interesting and very authentic.
I've done food tours in at least 10 other countries before and nothing comes close to the range of food and the experience on this tour. Come with an empty stomach and a (very) open mind and you will not be disappointed (no spoilers lol). Hong was a fantastic 10/10 guide, knowledgeable and immensely passionate about her culture and eating - exactly the energy this kind of tour needs.
This food tour takes you to off the beaten path eateries, where you will eat like a local. I loved the diversity of the dishes and our guide, Leah’s pleasant and well-informed commentary. We had a great night out.
Excellent, highly recommended. Classic Cambodian food in genuine venues. Tour guide & driver were friendly and very helpful. Thank you
Our guide, Sarath, was fun and informative. But as far as the food stops go, I’m not so sure. It wasn’t even the food as much as the sanitary conditions that the food was prepared in. Be aware, if you book this excursion. It’s not for the faint of heart. Be aware. I am pretty open when it comes to strange food, but this was too much. Maybe a warning to some of the food that will be experienced should be noted in the description of the tout
Thank you Hong for an amazing food tour! We enjoyed the variety of dishes we tried and appreciate you being flexible with the menu since we had done a similar tour in Phnom Penh. We had a fantastic time! I’d recommend this to all!
Hong was so knowledgeable and passionate about Cambodian food and culture, I’d recommend this tour to anybody. A ton of delicious food and almost all things I would never have found on my own. I had a great time!
Hong was a great tour guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. Her English was very good so it was easy to understand her descriptions of the tour and the many foods that we tried. I would highly recommend doing this tour if you want to experience true Cambodian street food.
A fabulous tour with a little bit of everything! Frogs and insects 🦗and beef stiry fry and roadside stalls and free flow beer and a fabulous cocktail bar 🍹 to top it all off! Highly recommend. Our guide Hong was gorgeous - so clever, funny and loves her food and her region so can give you all of the info and best tips! Try the Californication cocktail for sure! FIVE STARS! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bored was an exceptional guide. She was very knowledgeable and personable and took us to off the beaten path places that we never would have found on our own. We highly recommend this tour
We did the ultimate street food tour with our excellent guide Sarath. All the food was authentic, delicious, and tailored to our dietary requirements. I don't think we would have found any of the places by ourselves. Sarath was really entertaining and full of useful tips for the rest of trip.
We spent an amazing evening experiencing all kinds of local street foods at different market stalls (which we would never have been able to do on our own) with Rorm, who is a fantastic guide. Rorm’s enthusiasm and in-depth knowledge of what to try, along with his bubbly company, made for a totally wonderful evening. We tried all sorts of foods (no spoilers here, just go with an open mind!) and finished off with dinner (at community project Haven) and cocktails at Wild. Thanks so much to Rorm, who we will remember forever! What an evening!
We really enjoyed the Urban Forage Street Food Tour with our excellent tour guide Rorm! The sunset boat cruise was a beautiful way to start an evening of interesting and delicious street food. Grilled meats, fresh fruit we had never seen, savory pancakes and some other surprises were the highlights of the food on the street. We then went to a beautiful vegetarian restaurant and got to try “Pimento Fish” which was a tofu-based creamy crumble that we ate with rice! Delicious and so unusual. The last stop on our tour was a fun spring roll/cocktail restaurant where we tried assorted desserts that we had picked up at the street market. Romr is a great guide and we loved, most of all, hearing about Cambodian life and culture. He is a wonderful and inspiring young man! We highly recommend Urban Forage Street Food tour!!!
Loved everything about tonight’s tour, the food was amazing - great places where locals eat local food - as were the stories about culture, family and history. Hong and our TukTuk drivers were superstars. Could not recommend more highly as a must do in Siem Reap.
