If you get to do a city tour with Ngoun, you will be very lucky. He is an extremely professional guide with excellent English skills and he knows Cambodian history well well and he explains it in a way that you can understand. His tuk tuk driver was very good. Pick up was right on time and there was fresh cold water whenever we needed it. We started at the local market then we went to the beautiful Preah Prohn Rosth Monastery and then a local craft co-operative. We also visited the Apopo Centre where the HeroRats are trained. Admission is extra but it is an amazing experience and you are supporting a worthwhile cause. We had other equally wonderful stops as well. 4 hours went by quickly and we were never bored. Excellent tour with an amazing guide. It is well worth the price (which is so reasonable). Just do it!

We will spend time walking around and inside this popular market to see the daily life of the locals, how they make a living, seeing how our local market differentiates from your country. we will also pass through pub street and hear about the history of this general area before tourism arrived.
We will make our way to see one of the oldest monasteries in town nearby the old market, this monastery is dated back to the 14th century. we will learn about the monk's daily life and more...
We will stop here to check out the local shrine and the park where all of the big bats live and we will also check out the local quiet residential areal where the hidden gems are located. Visit local shrine where local people go to pray and blessing by the monks and learn about our ritual of our local culture.
This is where we will see one of the hidden gems of an old 10th-century building temple located just along the riverside area.

A great experience seeing the culture and immersion. Traveled in a tuk tuk so little walking was required. Guide was grit, adaptabile as we had seen some of the sights before. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
Lovely way to spend a morning, being taken around local hidden gems, the guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting. Thanks you to you and the driver.
Fantastic tour, we saw some really great things including the Hero Rats which are incredible. Lux was a tremendous guide Was a perfect tour to compliment Angkor Wat
This is a great way to see some of the lesser known sites. The tour covered five locations including Appo where they train the rats that find the landmines. Very informative. Our guide was excellent and could answer any question about the city and Cambodia.
Great tour. Guide was really knowledgeable.
Really enjoyable afternoon. Relaxed and easy pace. The gems were not so hidden though. I was hoping for some secret spots with some wow factor. Kindly took me to Apopo which was a highlight.
Great experience with our guide Lux. His English was great and his knowledge of Siem Reap and Cambodia was even better! We had a group of 8 and he was organized and flexible for us even pausing the tour to let us feed our hungry kids. Would recommend it to anyone!
We had a great time with our guide Vin. We were particularly interested in the way Buddhism is practiced here, and we felt incredibly lucky to get such a knowledgeable tour guide. Vin was a monk for many years, studied Buddhism at the bachelor level, and taught young monks in a Buddhist school, so he was clearly very familiar with the core teachings of Theravadan Buddhism. He was happy to explain the deeper practices of the religion and not just the way it's practiced by lay folks. He was very flexible and accommodating based on what we were interested in. For example, he said we'd spend 10 minutes at the monastery, but because we were so interested in it, that turned into an hour. We were able to take our time at lunch and other stops without feeling rushed at all. The stop at APOPO isn't included in the price, but we highly recommend spending the small price of admission ($10/person) to visit and support a great organization. Overall, this was a great introduction to Siem Reap and we were glad to have done it!
Ran was really friendly and informative. He brought to life the rich culture of Siem Reap. Would highly recommend.
We had a very nice private tour of Siem Reap via tuk tuk. The guide was very professional and provided good information. A nice way to start our visit to the area.
I had a wonderful tour tour with Sophy and driver Phet. Sophy took time to explain a lot about Buddhism and customs in Cambodia. The temple visit was wonderful along with the other shrines we visited. The market was amazing and I learned a lot about daily life in Siem Reap. We rode around in a very comfortable tuk tuk. Phet was a very safe driver and always made sure I was hydrated. Sophy also took photos for me which I really appreciated since I was solo on the tour. The Apopo Center and Artisianl market were also interesting to visit. Overall you can’t go wrong touring the city with Sophy and Phet
A very enjoyable tour around Siem Reap with the knowledgeable and friendly Sophy and expertly driven around by Mr Pek! It's a great way to learn more about the city and Cambodia as well as being a break from the incredible ancient sites in the area.
We had the best time! Sophy & Mr. Sok Kea were great. Sophy has so much info to share, and Mr Sok Kea had a big smile for us and kept us hydrated with cold water. We went a lot of places, I most enjoyed the local handicrafts and the APOPA hero rats. All the temples/pagodas/shrines are so beautiful, and we got blessed! It was extremely interesting-we learned a lot! We can give this tour a big thumbs up!
This "Hidden Gems" tour offered a decent way to get oriented to Siem Reap, particularly for first-time visitors. Our favorite stop was the Cambodian Handicraft Center, where we truly enjoyed witnessing local craftsmanship and supporting the community's aspiring entrepreneurs. However, a visit to a fancy shop felt quite out of place, as it lacked local presence and authenticity. We hope purchases made there genuinely benefit the Cambodian community. Overall, it provided a basic introduction to the city.
Great tour! Great to do when you arrive as you’ll get to see the highlights and get a feel for the area. Loved the variety of locations and my guide was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
This tour was a great way to learn a bit more about the city of Siem Reap! It's a perfect complement to tours of Angkor Wat and other temples.
This company was recommended to us by a family member who visited Siem Reap 2 years before. Everything from the previsit instructions to dropping off back at the hotel afterwards was really good. Taken by tuk tuk we visited a locals market to be taken through some of the local delicacies and how they are made before visiting some of the beautiful local sites of interest. We visited a few temples, one which is hidden away but is older than Anghor Wat, the Royal residence in the city as well as a Buddhist monastery. At a small additional cost offered on the day, we also visited the Apopo mine clearing team. It’s about an hour long, but gave a clear understanding on some of the issues in this part of the World and how locals are trying to rectify a serious issue.
My tour guide Sophy was very knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed seeing the temples and king's residence but especially appreciated the look at local life while we wandered along the river and saw the lighted boats and offerings for the water festival.
Nak was our tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and eager to share a lot of valuable historical information about all of the places we visited. We were safely driven around in an open air tuk tuk, which was extremely pleasant. We had a wonderful time on this half day tour and recommend it for anyone!
Our tour guide Lux was very nice and knowledgeable. We had a great time and the pace was suitable for all ages. This was a great way to learn more about Siem Reap.
What an excellent tour of some unexpected sites. The artists village was especially informative and we were able to see them create their art live on the spot. Definitely recommend!
We are two seniors who do not move as fast, or hear as well, as we used to. Our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs. At 66 and 86, we appreciate that more than we can express.
Nak was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. He speaks very good English and it’s easy to talk with. We even went off the beaten path a little bit when I wanted to ask him a bunch of questions about other things in Cambodia. He was always upfront and honest. we really enjoyed our tour with him.
On our pre cruise extension in Siem Reap, I booked this private tour to see as much of the city as we could and we were not disappointed! Lux made sure we go the most out of our time. We were scoped away in a Tuktuk for a great adventure. He took us to the local market to witness every day life of a Cambodian. Then to check out some Temples and the life of the Buddhist Monks. Followed by A stop at a local artesian shop. Then we got to visit the APOPO center to learn about the Herorats at their contribution to ridding land mines in Cambodia (this was my favorite). And finally a stop at a local grocery store to pick up some essentials. Lux was fabulous, fun and very accommodating. I highly recommend him for your tour of Siem Reap!
Lux was an amazing tour guide! He was informative, kind, and really loved his job. He made us look forward to our next trip.
We had an excellent experience with our guide and driver. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The tuk tuk was clean and comfortable, and the driver was attentive. Cold water was provided regularly throughout the tour. The APOPO Center is a must do!
We had an amazing tour around Siem Reap by tuk tuk. We have seen a lot more from the city. Our guide was very friendly, had a lot of experience and knows a lot to tell about the city and the surroundings. We requested a few changes in our tour and that was no problem. We highly recommend this tour
Had a nice day out seeing the sights of Siem Reap. It was a great tour and we wouldn’t have gone to any of these places as we didn’t know about them. I would highly recommend this trip to see the local area.
Great fun, very interesting tour with great guides giving insight into rural life in Cambodia. Call out to guides, Mr William and Mr Hout. Excellent nite out
Excellent tour very informative would recommend 100%. Raj speaks excellent English and gave us some interesting insights into Siem Reap. The tuk tuk driver was excellent too. Thank you. No hesitation in recommending this tour.
For me the tour was bit flat with little to see about Seim Reap. The driver and guide were good but I would have liked to seen more of the town. The Hero Rats part of the tour was excellent and would recommend it.
Really enjoyed this tour with a wonderful guide - Ran - who made it such an enjoyable and informative experience. Not my first time to Seam Reap but it was a really wonderful experience. Ran is the guide to go with as he has the experience to make it a truly memorable tour.
We arrived the city late in the afternoon, so missed out a few temples experience. We visited a couple of temples, one of them was worth seeing. Rest of the tour was very ordinary with a local market, silk shop, and Pub street. All finished in a couple hours. Overall, it was a good intro to the city, but we could have just as easily hire a tuk tuk and go to the same places ourselves with a fraction of the price.
We learned the stages of becoming Buddha from our guide, Ran, as he explained temples art. Ran also took us into a local supermarket at our request to orient us to all the tropical fruits & veggies of Khmer cooking.
Ran was a great guide and made us feel welcome from the moment we met in our hotel lobby. Some great things to see and lots of interesting facts. Highlight of the tour was the mine detection rats...fascinating
Lux Ngoun our was our guide for a couple of days and activities. He was very helpful; full of knowledge and friendly. He took very good care of all our needs. We very much enjoyed the tour with him and are grateful that we did the tour with him. He knows a lot about the Khmer history and speaks very good English.
Really enjoyable and relaxing tour, tuk tuk to a number of interesting sites including Opopo mine clearing centre.
Southea was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and helpful. The sites we visited were all interesting and we were able to vary the pace to suit us
Lux was great. He was on time, spoke fluent English, knew his way around the city incredibly well, arranged the tuk tuk driver meeting spots without issue, and was very knowledgeable.
We embarked on a five star extravaganza holiday, taking in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia and staying at some of the best hotels. Viroth’s hotel in Siem Reap was out of this world. The staff, super attentive, warm, welcoming and very friendly. The accommodation itself couldn’t be faulted. Impeccable and by comparison, very reasonably priced. We would have no hesitation in recommending Viroth’s to anyone visiting Seam Reap
We loved our tour with Lux! He speaks perfect English so it was very easy to understand him and communicate. I recommend doing this tour the first full day you arrive to get to know it better. It really opened our eyes to all Siem Reap has to offer and we learned great historical and practical info from Lux.
Hi, I just did the hidden jems tour with Mini. Great way to find out about siem reep. We visited temples, land mine centre, the people's park. To mention a few. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. Transportation was by tuc tuc. Who offered us water on a very hot day. I would really recommend this tour. Thanks ti the guys for a great few hours.
The guide was in time and so polite. We went to a two temples and the palace as well as the park. He showed me the river and had so much information to share. We drove through the center of the city and he even waited while I ate. His recommendation for the restaurant was perfect. Such a great introduction to the city which, I might add, I absolutely fell in love with!
Such a fantastic day! Beyond 5 stars. Our guide was very knowledgeable and his English was fantastic. We learnt so much about Cambodia and the history of this beautiful country. The APOPO rat centre was fascinating and well worth the visit. It was a brilliant guide to do one day one to learn and ease your way in to the Cambodian life and culture. Very well recommended! Xx
We generally enjoyed all aspects of the tour. Sok Win was friendly and knowledgeable - he came to the hotel promptly and made an effort to ensure we were coping with the heat.
You’ll travel through the city on a tuk tuk and visit markets, temples but visiting APOPO was my favorite, what a cool experience. The guide was so kind and informative and provided us with water during our tour. Definitely worth it, we had extra time after another tour and it was nice to roam through the city and see areas we otherwise wouldn’t on our own.
Our guide Vin was wonderful and passionate about showing us Siem Reap. Because it was a private tour it was flexible and we were able to customize what we saw. He showed us unique parts of the city and was able to tell us about the history and culture of the city. It was a great tour!!!
Very flexible. Loved the history provided by our guide. Especially liked the tour of Apopo! Such important work in the eradication of land mines in Cambodia.
I enjoyed this first introduction to Siem reap before I saw the ruins of Ankhor way and Ankhor Thom. I did not know very much about the area before my travels and Mr Don, my guide, was very passionate about the history and culture of the area. I appreciated being able to discuss all kinds of topics with him. The visit to Apopo is I think a must for every visitor to understand the impact of wars on the Cambodian people and to help assist the country to eventually revive their country. The historical sites we visited were interesting and gave me an introduction to the culture that I would learn more about in my subsequent tours. I liked the craft shop stop as it allowed me to see many artisans at work and it was not an atmosphere of pressure to buy. I would have recommended that they do a bit more of orienting a first time tourist to the overall plan of the downtown - I know that he would have done it if I asked but I didn’t think to ask until I was done. For me, this tour was a bit pricey but I didn’t get the rate that trip advisor initially advertised. I’m hoping that my guide and driver got paid more … not just the middle man.
