This was one of my favourite days in Siem Reap. We cycled out through the villages and rice fields on quiet red dirt roads, far away from the temple crowds, and got to see what everyday life in the Cambodian countryside actually looks like. Our guide, Sayouen was brilliant friendly, funny and full of stories. We stopped to meet local families, tried traditional Khmer desserts (so good!), and I even had a go at speaking a bit of Khmer with the locals, which they found very entertaining 😂 We finished the ride with a beautiful sunset over the water, which was the perfect end to the day. The pace was easy and relaxed, so you don't need to be super fit to enjoy it. If you want to see the real Cambodia, I'd definitely recommend this tour.

Had a great afternoon soaking up the local sights and hearing about the way of life. Cruisy ride with plenty of stops to stay engaged. Stunning sunset to top it off
Our tour guide, Sayoeun, knows his town and people well. He was very helpful and patient and everywhere we went, people greeted him warmly. The tour was through areas which you would never see as a tourist. The bike ride was quite easy and relaxing.
We had a fantastic experience on our local guided tour. Our guide, Sayoeun, was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience both interesting and enjoyable. Sam, the owner, was also fantastic and made us feel so welcome. The snacks were delicious, and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Visiting during the wet season made the experience even more unique, with the landscape looking spectacular. A wonderful experience from start to finish. Highly recommend this tour. 10/10.
Excellent easy flat bike ride outside of siem reap through several villages sampling the local street food including some very exotic food ending with a beer and spring rolls over looking the rice paddies. Definitely recommend this.
We had a very nice afternoon with Sayon. He was one of the guides that took us to so many places for the entire afternoon and evening. He showed us a real peek into Cambodian countrylife, and had a lot of stories and information to tell. Him and Sam took really great care of us. Everything was great. The tour is quite long, 4+ hours, so maybe take some snacks with you. When we came back we got some springrolls and sodas. We would really recommend booking this trip, and ask for Sayon as guide, he was the sweetest!
A truly fabulous afternoon/ evening. Sayeuo our guide was excellent. We got picked up at our hotel, then went to the local temple, before heading to Sam’s place to collect our bikes. The tour took us through the countryside and small villages, with many interesting stops. We learnt so much about local life and got to do some local tastings. Arriving back at Sam’s place we were greeted with cold towels and then had a cold beer and some delicious snacks, made by Sam’s wife. We were then collected by tuk tuk and dropped back at our hotel. Get out of Siam Reap town, see the real Cambodia and support this amazing local business.
I wish I could give more than a 5 star rating. The tour delivered everything promised and more. From pick up to finish everything was well organized and the tour through the countryside, including plenty of involvement with the local people and food was excellent. Well worth doing when in Siem Reap.
This was an amazing tour and a really unique opportunity to experience local culture and food. Our tour guide Sayoeun as well as Sam were so welcoming and enthusiastic to have us and show us around. The bike route takes you along some really beautiful rice field scenery. The sunset timing is perfect not only for views but also heat! It’s much cooler. Highly recommend going on this tour and supporting some great people.
One of the most enjoyable afternoons I’ve had The weather was great. Just a small group so a leisurely pace . No pressure on anything and scenic Sophy was great always smiling and chatty. Great knowledge Would recommend to my friends if coming here to go for a nice casual after saying hi to all the locals on the way. Finished with a beer and great snacks 10/10
Sayouen picked us up from our hotel as planned in a tuk tuk and took us to a temple on the way to pick up the bikes. Sayouen was very knowledgeable about the lifestyle of the monks and the religion, we later found out he is a former monk which enhanced the experienced. We then went on to meet Sam and collect our bikes. Sam was very conscientious to make sure the bikes and helmets were adjusted to fit us properly. The bikes are traditional style, sit up, push bikes, they are not e-bikes, but this was really nice as it added to the authenticity of the trip and don’t be concerned, the area is very flat with no hills and Sayouen goes at a pace to suit you. Sayouen stopped at various places showing and telling us how Cambodian people live and letting us experience some really nice street food. Sayouen always had time to answer our questions, nothing felt rushed, in fact the opposite, when we returned to drop off the bikes, we was greeted by Sam again together with some of his and Sayouen’s family and we sat with them for about an hour eating, drinking and talking together. Overall this trip was perfect for us, we wanted to learn how Cambodian people live daily and this is exactly what we got from a very warm and welcoming family.
We booked this trip in the hope we would see some authentic village life and it delivered 100%. First stop was the monastery then onto pick up our push bikes and this is where the tour really began for us. Cycling through villages and stopping at small kiosks/shops to try local produce. A visit to a lotus farm, stopping for street food if we were brave enough to try (I wasn’t) children shouting hello and waving as we cycled past Sayoeun our guide was genuine and knowledgeable and Sam at Countryside Tours was the perfect host for our well earned beer and picnic afterwards. We could have sat there talking all night but unfortunately were leaving Cambodia the next day If you want authenticity from genuinely lovely people then this is the trip for you. Definitely recommend
I had a lovely afternoon riding around the countryside with Sin. The tour was informative and interesting and the post-ride food was delicious. Lovely staff as well! Would recommend!
This bike tour is one of the best experiences that I have had in Siem Reap, I loved every minute of it! The scenery was absolutely beautiful, the local culture and the information that out tour guide Sin was sharing was the highlight of the experience. Was provided with a lovely snack and drinks at Sam’s very own bike garden was amazing. A must do experience for travellers wanting to know more about countryside Siem Reap and the local culture!
I had the most wonderful time with Ven, my guide. I would recommend this to anyone who is after an authentic experience in Siem Reap. The riding was easy and we stopped along the way to taste some really delicious street food and see some local spots. Ven was incredibly knowledgeable and taught me a lot about the local life. We chatted the entire way and had great fun.
I had the best time doing the today with Ven! We visited a monastery where he explained the history and symbolism of buddhism in Cambodia! We then cycled through gorgeous rice and lotus fields where tried some fruit straight from the tree! We cycled past loads of street food stalls where you can try whatever you like and he explained about the local female lead business turning old waste bags into new purses and wallets which was so cool! As we continued cycling, the sunset was so stunning especially standing in the green rice fields! Ven also showed me how silk is made from lotus stalks. I genuinely cannot recommend enough! It’s a super authentic tour where you can interact with and actually support the local community and I learned so much as well! When you get back from the tour you also get free Cambodian food! Definitely worth spending an afternoon doing when you’re in Siem Reap especially over one of the really touristy tours :))
One of our favourite things we have done in 4 months of travelling. The sunset bike tour was amazing, we had the most lovely time meeting all the locals and children in Siam Reap, stopping to try traditional Cambodian street food, seeing the lotus farm and ending the tour with a beautiful sunset. After the tour we sat and chatted with the guides learning more about eachother and they provided beers, soft drinks and some snacks! We couldn’t recommend booking this enough
One of the best experiences we have had in Cambodia so far, such friendly people and the trip takes you through the REAL Cambodia , got to see an amazing sunset and then sit down and talk to the owner and Ven and get a real feel of Cambodian life ! Highly recommend this to anyone , we also did the floating village and we much preferred this trip due to the fact as it felt way more authentic and real , and got a better sense of Cambodia
Had a lovely trip experience. Would. 100% recommend this company to you all. The stops were really nice and we were able to try some street food. Our guide was very helpful and friendly
A really great experience cycling through the countryside. We visited street food stalls, cycled through lotus silk fields and rice plantations, visited a monastery and visited a small factory that turns recycled bags into handbags. At the end we sat down to eat fried snacks and drink local whiskey. I would really recommend booking this experience, one of my highlights of Siem Reap.
Our guide was Sayoeun and he was excellent : attentive, helpful, knowledgeable. The tour was informative and a great way to see the real Cambodia. We mostly rode on a two-lane road and visited several roadside businesses. Before the ride began, we visited a pagoda. After the ride, we had snacks at the vendor's home. While both were enjoyable, they made the excursion a bit longer than we would have preferred. Highly recommended.
This is my 2nd time visiting Siem Reap and both times with Mr. Sokpee and team. Excellent communication Excellent arrangements - able to customize and alter based on needs and circumstances- eg. weather. Pick up from hotel and return - able to modify schedule Guides- super knowledgeable and professional. Amazing people who host us as “friends”! Food/Refreshments - cool towel and water readily available . Stops along the routes were well organized and restaurants were great. Tried different snacks and local “delicacies”- ha ha - not the usual - but a great experience- bugs, insects, local whiskey- of course you don’t have to try - but the experience opportunity is up to you! Good for small and large groups Great value !! Highly recommend
We cannot recommend this experience more! Sayoeun was the best tour guide, clearly explaining history, culture, and Cambodian ways of life thoroughly and engagingly. In just the space of a few hours and for a really affordable price, we got to try authentic street food, homemade whiskeys, visit temples, feed catfish (we even saw turtles!) dance and celebrate the new year with local people, visit the silk farm and learn how silk is made, and visit the floating village, watch the sunset, and enjoy a gorgeous dinner and beer at the end. You must book this tour if you visit siem reap! minimal fitness required as it’s a really leisurely cycle with lots of stops.
We had the best time with our tour guide Sayouen! He showed us all around the local village, stopping at food & sunset stops, would highly highly reccomend! He was so lovely and knew everything 😀 We also enjoyed beer and food with them afterwards! Great value for money!!
I really enjoyed being able to escape the city and see some of the countryside. My tour guide today was Sayoeun. We started at a Pagoda where he talked me through the history and practices. From there we went to pick up the bikes and start our ride. It was a hot day however there is a lot of air flow when riding, plenty of shade along the way, and we rode at a relaxed pace. We stopped at several local food stalls where I got to try a variety of delicious treats, some I had never had before! Sayoeun was very informative around life within the smaller villages in this area. We finished with a shared meal which was a nice way to end the day!
To be honest I was very surprised by this tour. I was a little worried that cycling for 5 hours in the heat would be difficult but in the event the cycling was in short bursts, mostly in the shade, interspersed with lots of chances to eat street food and learn a little about the local people. Overall it was extremely pleasant, with a lovely small meal and a beer at the end to relax. Sayoeun, our guide couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Of course coming to Siem Reap is all about seeing the temples but if you get a chance to spend and afternoon relaxing and seeing something a little less touristy I would recommend this trip. Water is provided, but you may also bring some extra, there is a small basket on the bikes to put a small bag or leave it at the restaurant.
We were picked up by Sayeoun at our hotel and first stop was a beautiful Buddhist temple. We then picked up our bikes and headed into the backstreets of south Siem Reap and toured through villages - meeting roadside vendors and offered local foods as well as locals making a living from the land. The trip took around 4 hours and was thoroughly enjoyable. Sayeoun was knowledgeable and attentive - water was always on hand and he made sure we’re safe on the roads. The locals were friendly- the kids were gorgeous and we got an insight into life here. At the end we were given drinks and snacks - the snacks were actually a variety of delicious Cambodian foods. We talked at sunset over a beer - joined by Sam, the boss- and learnt a lot about Cambodian culture. If you want to dig under the surface of this fascinating country, I recommend this trip. Great guides/hosts who will happily answer any questions you have. Go for it!
We had a fab trip today. From start to finish our guide Sayeon was just great- so warm and friendly and full of information for us. Bikes were good, lots of stops en route and opportunity to try various local delicacies (but also no pressure to try). It was so hot but we did lots of shade stops and finished at the end back with MrSam (owner) and had some cold beer and superb snacks (more like a meal!) watching the final sunset and chatting. Great to see a snapshot of village life outside the city and would highly recommend this trip. A lovely team and thanks also to our tuk tuk driver!
I've had an amazing afternoon,my guide was absolutely brilliant,it was so interesting to see rural Cambodia and local life.Siem Reap isn't only temples... It was fun,I highly recommend when visiting this area.
This guided tour was everything I hoped for, and more! A smooth pickup and short drive out of the city and into the countryside. We had a short stroll around a beautiful temple, our guide, Sayouen, actually gave me the most interesting and well-explained temple tour I’ve had so far in south east Asia! We then started our bicycle adventure into the countryside. Sayouen kept the pace comfortable for our group, and cycling was the perfect way to experience the countryside and local life. On our journey we visited the lily silk farm, a local recycling workshop, a beautiful old lady who makes hand-made hammocks, some lush green rice paddies, saw buffalos, goats, cows, cats, dogs, chickens and had the opportunity to try lots of local street food! All topped off with a stunning sunset, free beer and snacks back at our base too! All of the locals we met and spoke to were friendly and welcoming, in particular, the kids loved to shout ‘hello!’ And give us a high-five! This is an experience only made possible by Countryside Sunset Bike Tours and our amazing, knowledgeable, friendly tour guide, Sayouen! Would highly recommend for a truly authentic experience just outside of Siem Reap.
We had an amazing tour with our guide Sam. We visit a lot of interesting places and Sam told us everything we want to know. Along the street we could taste a some typical cambodian snacks and get some insights in how the people live. After returning to our starting point, we enjoyed some food and a beautiful sunset. Highly recommend this tour!
We had an amazing tour with our guide Sam! We visited some beautiful and interesting places and it was a unique experience to see some real Cambodian life. Sam told us many interesting things. After the tour we could relax at a beautiful spot, watch the sunset and have some refreshments on the house. We definitely recommend this tour!
I joined this tour with my dad and sophy was our your guide! The tour was value for money as we went to visit a monastery and then started our almost 4 hours cycling with a lot of stops through villages and street food stops. The itinerary is non touristy and yoj get the opportunities to see how locals live and where they hang out! After the visit you come back to their pick up point, cosy place with drinks and wonderful dogs to see the sunset! Staff was very friendly and sophy is a great and knowledgeable guide! I highly recommend this trip to see siem reap through another lense.
My wife, son and I did this trip in the afternoon, and it was every bit what we wanted out of it. We were picked up on time at our hotel by our friendly guide Shayon. On the way to the village, we had the chance to visit a Buddhist monastery. We then reached the start of our ride, where we met Sam who runs this program. Sam took us through the tour plan, and also informed us about the cause he's supporting through this tour - the proceeds from this tour help support a school for young kids. The tour was great fun - on old-school single speed bikes, through village roads, paddy fields, next to lotus ponds and around a small hill.. and along the way, we sampled some incredible local whiskey, interesting snacks, fruits and desserts. We also saw how lotus silk is made from the viscous fibres inside lotus stems. And after a 10 km leisurely ride with all these stops over nearly 3 hours, we finished off the evening with a perfect sunset back at the farm, with beer, soft drinks and the friendly pet dogs at Sam's cafe. Sam and team are running a wonderful tour and need all the support they can get. Do check them out today.
We did a cycle ride but what was really outstanding was the experience of the local life, businesses from seeing picnic spots in straw huts by the river , lotus silk monastery and lot of local food stalls
This experience was amazing! The tour guide and host were so sweet and friendly!! I love everything the spots they take you to are also beautiful !
The trip was very well organized. We were picked up at our accomodation with no problem! Our tour guide named Sa was amazing and really showed us the village life. It was super cool seeing not only the beautiful views of siem reap but also trying different street foods. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a relaxing bike ride that also is very interesting. One of my highlights was visiting the monastery!
It was a great afternoon! we biked through the outskirts of Siem Reap and even further out. We saw Lotus farms, street food stands, many friendly locals and endless rice fields. We watched the bright red sun set on our way back. It felt good to have a break from the bustling city. Our guide Sa was friendly and very chatty! Sometimes it was information overload tbh, hard to process everything! But all in all I recommend, also we got treated with delicious spring rolls at the end! We discussed some feedback at the end of the tour and everyone was open to receive our input!😊
Thank you to Sin, Sam and all the team for making my afternoon cycling around the countryside so special. Sin was so informative and the pace of the whole tour was perfect from start to finish. We made a few stops along the way and Sin was kind enough to take loads of photos. I even got a snack and several drinks included and the team provided me with insect repellent in the evening.. everything was excellent! Please book if you are in Siem Reap, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you so much for making my trip so memorable!
Had the most amazing afternoon on this bike tour!! Sayoeun was an amazing and very knowledgeable tour guide. All of the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming!! Do not miss this tour if you come to Cambodia cannot recommend enough!!
Best time EVER!!!!! Guide was so great, so informative and kind. Views were incredible and it was amazing to see the local village and be able to try their foods and buy gifts from their shop! Guides were so generous and gave us a delicious snack and lots of drinks!! Sunset was incredible, highly recommend 🚴♀️🌅
Cannot recommend highly enough!!! Genuinely had the most amazing afternoon. Sayoeun was very informative and so friendly. For an authentic experience of Cambodia, this is a must do!!
We really loved this tour, they were so attentive and kind! We saw a beautiful side of cambodia and we were looked after by our guide as well!
We had the most amazing experience during our cycling tour of the local villages in Siem Reap. Our guide Sayoeum was so amazing!! 😀 We got to experience the real local life here in Cambodia exploring rice and lotus fields as well as some incredible local food. Following our tour we were brought back for food and we were even welcomed to join they're family barbeque. Honestly the most incredible family and a must do experience when in Siem Reap. Massive thank you to Sayoeum and his family for their knowledge and incredible hospitality. We loved every moment of this tour. ❤️😀
We had the best time on this tour! Our tour guide was Sayoeun who brought us around to all the food stalls to taste different Cambodian meals that are actually eaten by the local people. We tried rice wine and Sayoeun took so many photos and videos to send us afterwards. We got water, beer and soft drinks complimentary and afterwards they brought us back to the base to celebrate his nephews birthday. To say this was the most incredible and authentic experience is an understatement. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough. It’s also the cheapest available in Siem Reap!
If you want to see authentic Cambodian village life at first hand, this is a tour for you. You will experience a fully guided explanation and visit to village street food and wine tasting, rice fields and lotus flower agriculture, insight to local home living, recycling of plastic materials into every day products available to purchase and the opportunity to buy street food at the local market. The cycling trip concludes with a return journey stopping to witness beautiful sun setting over local rice fields. It is a true insight into Cambodian village life out of the city, a total contrast to tourist areas such as ‘ Pub Street’.
Definitely recommend this tour if you’re visiting Siem Reap!! We learnt so much from our tour guide about Khmer culture, Buddhism, local families and countryside life! He really took the time to get to know us and make friends. We biked round the countryside and went to a local market to try some street food. We also enjoyed the snacks and beer together and it was a really lovely wholesome experience! Don’t miss this opportunity to see the beautiful countryside and connect with the lovely locals!
Had a wonderful time, we learnt so much and enjoyed biking around, seeing the country side, having a great time laughing and enjoying the street food, The sunset was beautiful along with the whole scenery. Would definitely come back again in the future.
I really loved this experienced. Sam took the time to properly explain so many things about the village and nature surrounding. I was really enjoying the slow moment, driving around with a bicycle, meeting locals, laughing with kids and enjoying the smile of all of them. We were welcomed with a drink, and invited to try surprising good desserts from the village! Also the springrolls at the end of our tour, were amazing!! We were honored to see a stunning sunset around the ricefields. I would definitly recommand this experience. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!!
I really enjoyed this activity in Siem Reap. It was a wonderful experience, and I loved the variety of places we visited: the lotus fields, the local market, the monastery, and some truly beautiful countryside views. Sam was very patient and explained each step of the tour clearly. The sunset was stunning, and we visited places that you wouldn’t normally see as a tourist. It felt authentic and very special.
