If you’re looking for the perfect Angkor temples tour guide, stop searching, you’ve already found him. Sin Peng Eang is the gold standard. From the moment we met him, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly thoughtful. He seemed to have an answer for every question we threw his way (and we asked a lot), and somehow made centuries of history feel engaging, clear, and even fun. What really set him apart, though, was his ability to read the room. Touring Angkor is no small feat (heat, crowds, and miles of walking) and he instinctively adjusted the pace based on our energy levels. He knew exactly when to dive deep into explanations and when to give us space to explore, take photos, or just soak it all in. He was professional and reliable throughout, but also genuinely fun to be around, easygoing, engaging, and with a great sense of humor that made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Honestly, if there were a “Temple Guide Olympics,” Sin Peng Eang would be bringing home gold 🥇 Highly, highly recommend.

Bun was our guide for the 2 day tour. His knowledge of all the temples was incredible. He had passion and excitement showing us all the special details that others would miss. Bun did a great job ensuring our small group was safe as crossing is a challenge.
Perfect experience with super helpful driver and an excellent, insightful tour guide (Mr. Sokpee) in Siem Reap. I can only recommend Journey Cambodia who made our trip very pleasant and comfortable!
Amazing to see the ancient temples of Angkor Wat region with such a knowledgeable tour guide, Pal Saroun and driver Mr Yen.
I got up very early but it’s worth it!! I can take wonderful photos there. Mr Sam who guided our tour knows history very well, I can leaned a lot. He is very good at taking photos, I got nice view of photos. It was a tour full of enjoyment!! Thanks a lot!!!
My partner and I were so fortunate to have an unforgettable visit to some of Angkor’s most famous temples thanks to Mr. Sam, our private guide, and Mr. Rit, our driver. Mr. Sam’s knowledge of Angkor’s history and Cambodia’s history in general was immense - he had a thorough, detailed answer for every question we had and made us feel like we were walking around with Cambodia’s personal historian! Seeing the sights themselves was breathtaking but learning about them with Mr. Sam made the experience even more astounding. If you have the opportunity to take a private tour of Angkor and are really looking to understand the history and significance of the ancient city, we highly suggest you ask for Mr. Sam! Thank you, Mr. Sam, for such a wonderful visit!
Our tour with Chea Sok and driver Keal was absolutely amazing. Sok was very knowledgeable and we were able to learn so much about Angkor Wat and the surrounding area. He also took phenomenal photos of us which we will treasure forever! Highly recommend a tour with these two if you are headed to Angkor Wat!
Omg....the best travel tour person SAM.....thank you very much. You make our day ..we learn a lot from you and you take beautiful pictures
Sam was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. The driver gave out cold towels after each stop and refilled water bottles with icy cold water which was much appreciated in the heat
This was an amazing experience! It was amazing to see these temples and our guide, Chhay was awesome! He was so informative and able to answer our questions. Loved getting to know this country and its history.
The temples are better with a tour, and the tour is better with Bun from Journey Cambodia. The temples are magnificent anyway, but it was a much richer experience thanks to learning about the Hindu and Buddhist artwork, the history of the buildings, and the cultural and historic context of Cambodia. Plus they know the best photo spots, time of day to visit each attraction, and how to avoid crowds. We had an excellent time on this tour, we were kept very comfortable and felt looked after. As a guide Bun is the consummate professional; courteous, friendly, informative and ready for questions. He provides an endless supply of knowledge, bottled water and hand sanitiser. Our driver Paul was no less of an expert, he was hyper vigilant and careful during the new year weekend (while the road is lined with people throwing water) and we could see we were in very safe hands. The crowds are very low post covid, despite the Cambodian new year holiday (April 14-16). The lull in tourism has also meant the macaques aren't being fed and have moved back in to the forest, so we were thankfully not bothered by monkeys.
I can’t say enough amazing things about this tour and our guide Mr. Sam. I’m a very curious tour participant and I ask a lot of questions. Me. Sam was all game. There wasn’t a single answer he didn’t have to any of the questions myself or my friend asked. He went into great detail about the Khmer Rouge regime when I asked about it even though it had nothing to do with the trip we were on. Back to that though; Angkor Wat is one of the main reasons I wanted to come to SE Asia. I’ve wanted to see this stunning structure for years and was afraid I was hyping it up too much for it to not meet my expectations. I was delightfully proven incorrect. The structures are beautiful, and the history is fascinating, delivered with humour and engagement in a way that I can be forever grateful for. Thank you so much Mr. Sam, you made this experience something that will truly never be forgotten.
I can’t speak for other tour guides under the Journey Cambodia umbrella, but we booked a private tour with Rom. He was absolutely incredible. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and an amazing person. Highlight of my three week trip to SE Asia!
The tour started with our guide Sam picking us up in our hotel on time with an extremely charming tuktuk driver. At the hotel Sam explained to us in detail the course of the day. Then it started. We bought the tickets for Angkor Wat together and then drove through the impressive facility. It was one of the most impressive days of our life, accompanied by an incredibly interesting guide and an always smiling tuktuk driver. Sam answered all questions and told us a lot about the temples but also about the history of the Khmer and their today's life. The day would not have been half as good without Sam and his driver. Thanks for that. We can only recommend the funny guide Mr. Sam. Alina and Camille from Germany
We tried the private 1 day Angkor temple tour and our guide arranged the visits to local village near Angkor War, Bayon, Ta Prohm and Angkor Wat in that sequence. Our guide Dalign or Lign (short form) shared about life growing up in Siem Reap and the history of Cambodia in the past century as well as in ancient times which will help you better understand the current affairs in this fascinating country. Request for tour guide Lign, he is clearly different from other tour guides, very knowledgeable and worldly, reads a lot, very open to sharing, very good English pronounciation, and also very curious to learn about countries outside Cambodia.
Saroun and our driver was the best tour guide! He took us around everywhere for about 5 days, including Angkor Archeological park. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We had to make a few amendments in our itinerary and he was very accommodating and understanding. Wouldn’t recommend anyone else to take you around Cambodia. Thank you again Saroun ☺️
Was looking for a private tour me and my partner could do to Angkor Wat. I found this tour on trip advisor after much searching. What a fabulous experience this was. Booking was quick and easy on the trip advisor site. We was greeted at the hotel by Bob, our guide for the day and we were off! We visited the main temples on the tour and Bob explained the history behind everything in perfect English. I would highly recommend this tour and would like to thank Bob for a great day.
My guide was Niem Sokhem. I was in Siem Reap for 24 hours. He made his schedule fit mine, picked me up at my hotel. We had our own driver. We saw 3 main temples. Niem was so easy to be around. He was incredibly knowledgeable and I learned so much about each temple. It's amazing how much he pointed out to me. Really enjoyed my day with him.
I had a wonderful time walking around the Temples and I learnt a lot from our wonderful guide Sak. The bus driver Keal was accommodating as well and overall I had a enriching experience
I would like to recommend the guide Darath. He’s an expert and it’s really funny! We did 3 temples and he knew the tricks in everyone to make the experience even better. Would definitely make this trip again.
Very nice tour, we are alone because it's the low season. Phal take a very good photos and he know a lot about temple. Usa have had prepared cold water and small fresh tower after the visit. I'll recomend this guide and the driver, they do an exeptional team. Josep and Meri
The tour started at 7:30am and we got back at our hotel at 3:15pm. Everything was as expected! Its needless to say how unique experience was visiting all those temples.. What made this tour priceless was our guide Chhoun Savoun!!! His english skills were good enough (and this is something you do not take for granted in Cambodia), he was sooo kind and smiley and helped us take the best photos!! I miss you Chhoun!!!
The 3 of us enjoyed our tour guided by Phal. He was very friendly, provided umbrellas, bottled water and refreshing hand towels to cool down. I would recommend this to anyone.
We had an amazing experience with this tour and highly recommend Mr. Monirom. He was so knowledgeable about the temples and considerate of our group and our pace. I would definitely recommend!!! The company was great to work with as well!
When we forgot our National Geographic guidebook, we did the very right thing, book a private tour of the temples with a guide from Journey Cambodia. We ha denen here with the guidebook in 2006, so we are able to compare. Our Journey Cambodia tour, “Private 1 day tour of Angkor temples with Sunset”, 10 hours is not listed here, so we put the review here, because this tour description is close to the specific tour we made. Everything got very smooth, we, a family of four were collected at our hotel right in time. The minibus was tidy and very clean and more than spacious for us. Water and ice cold towels were provided multiple times. After collecting the visitor passes we went straight to Angkor wat. We got the best guide, we can imaging, Sokhem. It turned out, that a personal guide is much better than a National Geographic Guidebook. At least if you got Sokhem. He was well informed in every aspect of our trip, shared experience he mad, when he did archeological field work in Angkor, some years ago. Especially his explanations of the multiple Bas-reliefs where extremely detailed and clear. His English was excellent and in addition to all the art and history and sightseeing conversation, we discussed a lot of actual themes of Cambodia and the world. Thank you Sokhem for a wonderful day,
We had a great tour with our guides Chan and Sombath. Chan's knowledge about the temples was extensive and he's also an expert photograph :). Thanks a lot!
We had a great time with our Tour Guide, Mr Bun. With all the information that he gave us, it was helpful for us to understand about the culture and history of Cambodia and Angkor Wat. Our journey and experience to Angkor Wat was great with the helped of Journey Cambodia.
We booked a one day tour and extended it to a 2 day tour after seeing the first temple with Ram. He knew a tremendous amount about the temples, their construction and Cambodian history. The range and extent of his knowledge was incredible. His English was very good and he was able to answer any questions we had. The pace was slow, even after we asked him to speed up. He tended to go into extensive detail and made frequent stops to talk. He had everything running smoothly- he was there early both days with our transport and a lot of cold water (very necessary).
We loved our English speaking guide and the tour! He as very personable and knowledgeable about every temple and the history of the temples as well as the area. I would highly recommend the private tour as you really get to understand the history where most tours just drop you off and you're on your own to wonder around, but that way, you miss the history. Also, with a private tour, you can see so much more and quicker than with the large groups and get back to your hotel pool during the heat of the afternoon! would use them again.
We had Phing Bunna as our private guide and were so glad we did. His English was excellent. This has not been our experience on many other private tours we booked in Southeast Asia. His knowledge of Cambodia’s history was also excellent and he was eager to share. He also is a superior photographer and gave us many tips on capturing the right shot. He expertly photographed us with the sites as well. Overall I would highly recommend our tour with Journey Cambodia
We had a fantastic two days with our guide, Sam. As well as being extremely knowledgeable and open to all sorts of questions, he was very entertaining and had a great sense of humour. Thank you for everything!
We took a private tour and wanted to change the itinerary during the course of the day and our guide was very helpful in accommodating us. The temples are outstanding and the guide, Teth, was very well informed and allowed us to move at our own pace. I would recommend the company.
Angkor Wat has been on my bucket list for over 30 years so I have been looking forward to this tour for a very long time and it didn't disappoint. The company were easy to book with and it was very good value for a private tour. They always gave me prompt email responses during the booking process and our guide Mr Thet arrived on time to collect us from the hotel. The vehicle was well kept and the driving good. Mr Thet was knowledgeable and friendly and we had a lovely day. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them
My first time to Angkor Wat and me and my sister loved the site, and the tour with Mr. Setha. To be fair, Angkor Wat is amazing by its own with very unique architecture and humongous size. However, with the help of Mr. Setha and the tour, we feel that we learned so much more than we would have known. I did research and read about the site before my visits but the stories from the tour guide and our conversations make the facts about Angkor and Cambodia way more exciting. I had great conversations with Mr. Setha about the Angkor Site, the history, and also got to learn about Cambodian people and culture. Other than that, the tour was perfect from beginning to end. Mr. Setha was so knowledgeable of the site and took us through the back entrance, which helped us avoid the crowd and took beautiful pictures. He also knows all the good spots for pictures and took beautiful ones. The service was top notch. We was helped by Mr. Setha and a driver, who were both so nice and friendly. We were always welcomed back to the car with cold tower and water and they have umbrellas ready for when it rains. I will recommend the tour to anyone visiting Angkor Wat. Thank you very much.
We did the „Private Tour with Sunset by Tuk Tuk.“ It was just a great day, we had a professional English speaking tour guide, his name is Mr. Sok. Ask for him when you are booking. Never had a better tour guide on our travels. All so the assistant Mr. Tear was very helpful. We won‘t forget this tour. Thank you Journeys Cambodia!
After being collected from our hotel at 8am, we spent the morning at Angkor Wat, being guided around by the wonderful Mr Thet. After a couple of hours back at the hotel for lunch, it was back on the road to visit Angkor Thom. Its hard to explain what a fantastic place this is, a must see with a great tour company.
I joined the tour with 4 other friends. It was pretty last minute as we just decided to go the night before. The company was very responsive and sent us immediate confirmation right after we submitted the form via TripAdvisor. The tour guide came and pick us up at our resort on the agreed time. Everything as nice and smooth. Our tour guide Tann is very nice and knowledgeable. He speaks English very well so we were able to understand him clearly. He explained the history of both Cambodia and Angkor Wat thoroughly and was able to recommend us some very nice spots for photos and even took nice photos for our group. Very talented photographer indeed. Would recommend if you are looking for a nice and quiet experience to explore Angkor Wat :)
We booked the day tour to the temples very quickly and short-dated, but this was no problem. The tour was a dream! Our guide, Mr. Setha (setha_dong@yahoo.com) was very friendly, his english was very good and he has a huge knowledge of the history of the temples and the country. Recommendation 100 % :-) Also Setha and the driver cared about us, gave us cold water (degrees outside 35°) and cold and wet towels for our refreshment. We enjoyed it so much, many thanks to our guide! :-)
Our guide Sam was very knowledgeable about not only the Temples, but Cambodian life in general. We were picked up from our hotel on time, and after each temple we’re given refreshing towel and a bottle of water. Our tour was supposed to include lunch, but we had to pay,due to lack of communication between the company and guide. All is being rectified though and we are receiving a refund. There is a lot of walking and it was pretty hot there,so be prepared with hat and good walking shoes. All in all, having our private guide Sam was the best choice for Myself and husband. We are 62 & 67 years old.
It is a very enlightening trip. Get to "feel" the historical moment and the cultural of Cambodia. Tour Guide, Phi, is very passionate with his job. He had explained well every events as we moved from temple to temple. Also, he is a great photographer and helped us took many artistic pictures using our handphone. It is really a very memorable trip.
We had a great time in Ang kor wat. The Tour guide Mr Phi was really very impressing with his explanation. He gave us enough information about the Temples. He is a assert to your company. I wish him the best of luck. I will sure visit Cambodia again near future. Thank you.
Our guide Phi was extremely knowledgeable and did a great job of getting us to all the temples. We were two couples and one couple had been there 15 years ago. WHAT a change and Phi helped us to enjoy seeing the temples again.
Amazing and stunning place!!! You must do it if you go to Siem Reap! Sam our guide tour and the driver made us an amazing experience!!! I would recommend it for sure!!! Sam was very knowledgeable!!!
I was accompanied by a helpful tour guide , he explained lots of History and try to find less crowded Temples. The sunset by the lac was beautiful , lovely colors.
We were accompanied by Mr Bun on this tour who we found a very thoughtful and helpful tour guide. Not only did he provide rich stories and information on each of the sites, he also pointed useful information such as good photography points, approx how much time we'd spend at each location (as we exhaust in direct sun quickly) and clean bathroom stops. After the tour he event took us to the market to help us buy some tropical fruit we were craving for but weren't too sure how to bargain as it was our first day!
We had a really exciting day with Pal who showed us around in Angkor Wat. He made sure we steered away from other tourists, explained about everything we saw, took lots of pictures of us and was very pleasant.
Visiting the site with this French-speaking guide was a treat. Both for the eyes and for the way we discovered this site. The explanations were very clear and moreover the guide always took into account our desires. He adapted perfectly to the situation.
The organization of the tour was great. We were picked up from the hotel on time and well supplied with cold drinks (water). The tour guide spoke good English and was well informed, so that he could give us a good insight into the history of Angkor Wat.
