We opted for the private tour, and it was well worth it. We were picked up from our hotel by our guide Tann and our driver for the day. Tann provided us with lots of information about Cambodia and its history along the way to our first stop, a beautiful outlook over the region from atop a cliff. We then made our way to the 1000 Linda’s, where Tann again gave us the history of the carvings. Next stop was the Big Buddha statue, before having a swim at the magnificent Kulen waterfall. Last stop was for some lunch and a visit to Banteay Srei temple - smaller than Angkor Wat, but the carvings and stories make it well worth the visit.

Itinerary
For the Phnom Kulen Waterfall and Banteay Srei Temple Tour from Siem Reap, we will pick you up from your hotel in Siem Reap around 7:40 AM in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. The journey to Banteay Srei temple and the mountain takes approximately 1.5 hours, offering scenic views of the Cambodian countryside along the way. After a full day of exploring Kulen’s historical and natural sites, including the Reclining Buddha, River of a Thousand Lingas, and the waterfall, we’ll drop you off at your hotel in the evening, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish.
There are two main waterfall in Phnom Kulen National Park. First waterfall: 4–5 metres (13–16 ft) tall and around 25 metres (82 ft) wide during the rainy seasons. Second waterfall: 15–20 metres (49–66 ft) tall and around 15 metres (49 ft) wide during the rainy seasons. The size of the waterfalls varies according to the seasons and the rain. Visiting the waterfalls is a popular activity on Kulen Mountain Tour.
Along a stretch of the riverbed for around 500 m there are carvings of linga, several big and small yoni, and a large carving of Vishnu. Along the walls of the riverbed, a small carving is also seen in the bedrock.
Preah Ang Thom is an 8 meters (26 ft) tall statue of the reclining Buddh reaching nirvana. The statue is carved into a huge natural sandstone boulder to which a modern staircase has been added along with a shelter over the Buddha. It is a very sacred and special site for all Cambodians and there are always patrons visiting the site and at times becoming quite busy.
Lunch at Romchong Angkor restaurant at Banteay Srei.
Banteay Srei is a 10th-century Cambodian temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Located about 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) north of Angkor Wat, it's renowned for its intricate carvings, which are considered some of the finest in all of Khmer architecture. The temple is made of red sandstone, allowing for elaborate and detailed artwork, including scenes from Hindu.
The village of Preah Dak, located a short drive from Siem Reap town, is known over the country for its famous nom ban chok noodles. Though thanks to a proactive district governor, it has also gathered fame as the pilot village for a ‘One Village, One Light Bulb’ scheme whereby each of the 518 households has been supplied solar panels to generate electricity. There are plans to roll out this scheme across other villages in the district. Preah Dak is also doing its bit by sorting rubbish and keeping itself clean. Basically, it has become a model village, though definitely retaining its authenticity and beauty. It’s definitely worth a visit to see typical village life, eat some noodles and watch basket makers at work.
After a full day of exploring the Banteay Srei and Kulen Mountain’s highlights, including the Reclining Buddha, River of a Thousand Lingas, and the waterfalls, Banteay Srei temple, we will begin the return journey in the late afternoon. The drive back to Siem Reap takes about 1.5 hours, and we will drop you off at your hotel around 5:00PM to 5:00 PM, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing end to your tour.

Well worth the trip and the guide was great.
An excellent way to see the more out of the way temples and sacred areas of Siem Reap. My personal favourite was Banteay srei was may favourite. So our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Trob our seiver got us ther and handed out fragrent wet towels after we saw the templea. Great value, would recommend,
Great day out in Cambodia! Visited two amazing temples and Kulen mountain. So and Trob were wonderful hosts and very knowledgeable. An excellent tout to follow up after Angkor Wat.
Mr. So and Trob are excellent photographers. I truly enjoyed the entire journey with them — they were professional, patient, and very friendly throughout the session. They explained every step clearly, which made the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. The service was outstanding, and I’m very happy with the results. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a professional and pleasant photography experience. ⭐⭐⭐
We were lucky enough to have a very small group with a wonderful guide called Tan to guide us and give a fantastic explanation of the whole history of both the country, the area, and the detailed historical sites. Thank you Tan 🙏
We had a great time with Tann! He was so talkative and his English was easy to understand and really impressive! The views from the mountain cliff were beautiful; everything was so lush and green because of it being the rainy season. Our guide offered to take photographs for us and pointed out the best shots to get. Tucked away in the national park, up a mountain, was a little village surrounding a temple with the reclining Buddha carved from the rock. It's a really special place and the residents are welcoming. Due to the very heavy rain last night, we were unable to properly see the 1000 Lingas, but it was still interesting to see where they are and see the natural spring there. The weather had also affected the waterfall, making the flow fast and heavy, so we didn't swim but it was such a lovely place to visit regardless. The restaurant that we stopped off at was great, as were the steamed palm sugar cakes we got to try!
Sam was an excellent tour guide ! He organized a tour that saw all the areas mentioned and was willing to modify it at the end to take us to an additional temple instead of the village (which we were not interested in going to). So was a wonderful driver and lunch at Romching Restaurant was a great break in the day. This was a great tour if you want to explore these amazing temples outside of Seim-Rep.
Great experience to enjoy if you want to discover Cambodia's sights a little bit more off the beaten track. Special thanks to our passionate guide, Mr. Sopheaprath, who provided us with deep insights into Khmer culture and history.
Excellent tour, we have seen many beautiful and not to miss places! We had a wonderful driver, Mr Thon who took very good care of us. Very careful driver and always supplied us with ice cold water and cold towels which were amazing after being in such heat. The vehicle is also very clean and comfortable. Our guide, Sopheaprath has been amazing. Very fun, friendly and knowledgeable. Looked after us extremely well, taking care of us in the heat and even taking some great pictures. Would highly recommend this tour to everyone, not to be missed while in Siam Reap. Great value and 5* treatment. Thank you so much.
Fantastic tour! Our guide, Tann, was especially great. Highly knowledgeable and very interested in sharing what he knew. Our tour group was especially inquisitive and he was very happy to answer all our questions and provide more facts seeing that we were interested. He showed us details we would otherwise miss if we were on our own. Tann and his driver advised us on the best itinerary and timing based on how to avoid the crowds and get a better experience. Greatly appreciated this. In addition, the Banteay Srei Temple was by far my favorite given how the carvings and details were preserved due to the stone it was made from. Tann explained these details well as well. I highly recommend seeing Phnom Kulen waterfalls and the temple as an additional activity on top of Angkor Wat. Overall, it was great value for what I paid for this tour. Tann and his driver were excellent! Highly recommend!!
We did a great tour to the Kulen waterfall, 1000 lingams, lying Buddha and Banteseay temple with tour leader Sopheaprath and driver Mr Thon. They were excellent and very knowledgable. The mini bus was very comfortable and after each stop you get water and a refreshing towel!! Yeah. Excellent and thoughtful service. Sopheaprath is the owner and has lead a very interesting life which he shares including his time as a Buddhist monk. Fascinating. Can only fully recommend.
At the end of the day me and my friend were so glad that we booked this tour. We learned so many things about rich history, culture, and nature of Cambodia. Our guide Sopheap Rath was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
They came to pick us up from our hotel on time, and our guide Mr. Sopheap Rath was so knowledgeable in Cambodian culture, history and everything that we wanted to know. He helped us take some amazing pictures too. We really enjoyed our day. I highly recommend doing this tour.
Tann guided us through an excellent set of experiences on this tour. We enjoyed everything… the views from the cliff were amazing, the waterfall was beautiful and refreshing to wade in, the river of 1000 lingas interesting, and Banteay Srei such a beautiful and intricately carved temple. I’m so glad we booked this tour to see it. Tann was a great guide… we somehow managed to avoid the crowds, which speaks to his experience. He was nice, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, sharing with us interesting history about each of the sites. Tonn was an excellent driver… I felt we were in very good hands all day. After a few days in Siem Reap, it was great to get outside the city and see a different side of Cambodia, with clean air and a nice breeze. I highly recommend this tour.
Fantastic tour to phnom Khulen waterfalls. Good stops and good guide. It was a busy day with many tourists, but the guide Tann knew exactly how to avoid the crowd, and kept us well informed during the day.
Good car nice guide . It’s a 1 hr drive from siem reap. I love the Siva lingas under the water. The waterfall is nice too with a bit of a hike. Do if you have time
The waterfall was a stunning experience. Nice place for nature lovers to go for a hike and get soaked in the a0. The thousand lingams under water and the natural spring are worth a watch. Our tour guide, Mr. Tann, was informative and courteous. We booked a group tour, but with only two of us it became a private tour in a nice minivan. It was a enjoyable trip overall.
A very interesting trip, super nice Tann and Pan, breathtaking bath under the Koulen waterfall, statue on Budda of the top of the mountain.
It was verry great trip. We had verry nice Tour guy who chat with up all the time and explain everything. The swimming near to waterfall was great.
This tour is definitely a must see. It’s a unique experience visiting the Kulen Mountain and 2 unique and amazing temples (Banteay Srei and Beang Mealea). Our tour guide Tann and driver Pan were the best. They were attentive, helpful and courteous with us. We are group of 6 from 3 different countries and Tann managed to make us all comfortable.
We had an excellent guide, Tann, who was very kind and provided us with a lot of information about the country and all the temples we visited. We did not have many expectations, but they surprised us with very good transportation, and the driver's attention, always waiting for us with water and wet towels to refresh ourselves. Additionally, we saw temples that most people do not even know about. It is a highly recommended tour.
Tann is an excellent guide.
He was an English speaking guide, but he spoke slowly in an easy to understand manner. Phnom Kulen is not often mentioned in guidebooks, but I highly recommend it!
When I first told him that I didn't understand much English, he explained it very carefully and slowly and it was easy to understand. And it made a lot of things happen that we wanted to do. Thank you very much.
Of the best experiences we have lived in Cambodia, essential if you want to explore beyond Angkor. We were fortunate to have Tann as our guide: friendly, friendly, and offering a masterful history class also reviewing the current situation in the country. The Kulen Waterfall (with dozens of butterflies... Unspeakable. We have seen waterfalls on our way through Thailand and none come close to the virginity of it) and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha is a beautiful area of nature and religious retreat, which you arrive in early morning before all tourists. We also saw a mineral water source. Koh Ker shocks by its vastness, there you stop for lunch at a local restaurant surprisingly delicious for how far removed it is from civilization. Beng Mealea is even superior to Ta Prohm in terms of vegetation density and ruins, it is amazing how nature has worked its way up. The transfer was very comfortable, always with cold water and wet towels prepared in the vehicle. In addition Mr. Tann makes some spectacular photos and videos!! Detail also note that we put traditional music back to the city and this I loved to know more about the culture of the country. Try the curry chicken noodles from the restaurant where you stop to eat, according to my partner they were the richest you tasted on our trip🤗 Don’t miss the excursion because it is new: in the future it will become one of the most requested activities, I am sure.
We visited several temples, a magnificent waterfall, the site of the Thousand Lingas, and tasted authentic local cuisine. Mr SO has an impressive knowledge of Khmer history and culture, which he transmits with passion and clarity. Every place came alive thanks to his explanations. Mr. TROB was equally professional, attentive and warm. A human, cultural and unforgettable experience. We recommend these guides without any hesitation!
Tann is a nice accommodating and attentive guide. He drove us in a private tour to the Lady Temple and the Kulen Waterfall. During the trip he told us about Cambodia's history and gave it in a super English language. He stopped with us at market stalls where we could taste palm cake. He gave us enough time to visit the temple and explained the different depictions. He was also prepared for rain and had umbrellas with him, as well as cool towels and water in heat. Our wishes were met and the tour was made flexible so that crowds were avoided and the weather was taken into account.
We spent a beautiful day in the company of Tann to discover the park of Phnom Kulen. We saw a beautiful panorama, the waterfalls, the 1000 Lingas, the reclining Buddha and the beautiful temple of Banteay Srei. Tann was clear precise and patient in meet all our needs. His English was easy to understand thanks to his excellent pronunciation. One aspect that we particularly appreciated was the fact that Tann offered to take pictures of us in the most beautiful views we encountered along the way. The restaurant where we had lunch was good. Bananas and typical sweets are offered along the way. The experience was very positive and higher than our expectations. We strongly recommend this tour!
To był bardzo dobrze spędzony czas. Wycieczka świetnie zaplanowana. Komfortowy samochód. Nasz przewodnik Tann był niesamowity. Przekazał nam mnóstwo informacji o życiu w Kambodży, w każdej chwili służył pomocą, zrobił niesamowite zdjęcia. Kąpiel w wodospadzie jest świetnym doświadczeniem. Serdecznie polecam wycieczkę, jak również przewodnika Tanna.
"We were very pleased with our tour and would like to thank our guide Tann for the excellent care. His extensive knowledge of the region and its attractions impressed us greatly. His English was very understandable. Our guide's photography tips and help were very helpful in taking beautiful souvenir photos. We visited many interesting places and were able to learn a lot about the history and culture of the city. Bathing in the lake with the 25m high waterfall as a backdrop was just fantastic. Another highlight was the culinary experience when our guide introduced us to typical Khmer food. This was a great way to get to know the local cuisine. Overall, the tour was very informative and entertaining. We can recommend them and would book them again at any time." 5/5 stars
We had a great tour with our guide Mr. So and driver Mr. Rei. We got through Mr. Such a deep insight into the culture, religion and life of the people of the entire region. This both in the past at the time of the kings around the temples, as well as today's hard, simple life in the villages. We perceived the two as friendly and courteous companions. Cooled water was included and the best thing after hot (÷35° 95%) tours were the ice-cooled wipes with eucalyptus extract, a so far unknown to me ( no irony ). Even as a professional smartphone photographer, Mr. Such beautiful shots of us. Diana and Steffen
The day with our guide Mr. So and the driver Mr. Rei was fantastic. We have seen a lot and learned about the culture, the local population and the history. Mr. So told us a lot and took great pictures of us. He also bought us local fruit and food to try. There was always cold water and a cool cloth. The tour was really exceptional - Mr. So and Mr. Rei we can gladly recommend for a special experience. Thank you again! Lg Diana and Steffen😊
It has been a great tour! I was able to fully appreciate the natural richness and culture of Cambodia. Our guide Tann is the best! They gave me plenty of travel advice and fun teaching me about religion, history, culture and people's lives in Cambodia in easy to understand English, they were very attentive and flexible in their turn around the tour to avoid the crowds, and they were the best guides I have ever been on a tour! I can recommend it from the bottom of my heart!
We had an unforgettable experience with So (Sopheap) our guide and Seyla our driver who were caring. The elements that we particularly appreciated: the immense knowledge of our guide who was anxious to pass on his knowledge. We had the answers to all our questions. Seyla, the driver drove carefully and regularly provided us with fresh towels, water and food. We leave this experience enriched with knowledge and we will not hesitate to go through this same guide if we return to Cambodia in the future.
Mealea and Banteay-Srei temples were real highlights and our guide Joe explained the historical background very accurately. The 1000 Linga and the nature on Mount Kulen were also impressive. This tour I would book again.
It was a wonderful day with Tann our guide. Although there were only two of us and the minimum number of participants was not reached, the trip took place. The driver was very prudent and gave us a good carriage. I can definitely recommend the trip with Tann.
A wonderful excursion that my guide and his driver made Tann something special. Tann knows the times when you are completely alone at the waterfall and the cliff with a bit of luck (provided you start early in Siem Reap). This is how great photos can be taken. And even without swimming at the waterfall, the tour is very worthwhile due to the impressive landscape. Tann is a great tour guide, as you would like him to be. He knows how to tell a lot of exciting things about the region, is very attentive, never intrusive, warm, leaves room for manoeuvre and is almost like a friend. I felt very comfortable and in good hands. Also the selection of the restaurant over lunch was very good. The Banteay Srei Temple then forms a beautiful end to a great day outside the Angkor region. Highly recommended! Thank you very much:-)
Besides a beautiful site to visit, we had an excellent experience with Tan and Pan. Tan took the time to explain in English, but also in Khmer for my parents. He was able to answer all our questions! Pan managed to pass the ride smoothly, with enormous caution when driving.
It was great! We spent the day visiting some absolutely beautiful sites. Tan, the guide, is very funny and super nice. He took the time to explain everything. Pan, the driver, is very nice and drives very carefully! Go with your eyes closed!
