Itinerary
The tour starts with a one-hour drive from Siem Reap to Kulen Mountain. We'll stop along the way to take in the spectacular rainforest views from Kulen hill.
Journey to Phnom Kulen National Park, a sacred pilgrimage site, and seamlessly blend natural exploration with spiritual discovery. On this small-group tour, you'll hike through vibrant jungle landscapes, swim beneath a breathtaking waterfall, and witness the unique carvings at Kulen mountain's River of 1,000 Lingas. The experience culminates with a visit to the mountaintop reclining Buddha. Enjoy the exclusivity of a tour capped at 7 travelers, complete with entrance fees and convenient hotel transfers.
Venture into the Cambodian heartland to find the River of a Thousand Lingas. Here, the riverbed transforms into an underwater gallery, carved with hundreds of lingas and yonis. Depending on the water level, these ancient symbols emerge and submerge, creating a dynamic, living artwork. Imagine the cool water flowing over the sandstone, each carving a testament to centuries of Khmer devotion. Sunlight filters through the canopy, illuminating the intricate details and casting dancing shadows on the river floor. The air hums with the quiet energy of this sacred place.
Ascend Kulen Mountain, where the air is thick with the scent of incense and the whispers of ancient prayers. Here lies the Giant Reclining Buddha, a silent sentinel overlooking the landscape. Explore the weathered stones of forgotten temples, each etched with stories of kings and gods. Feel the cool mist on your skin as you wander through the jungle, and listen to the monks' chants echoing through the trees. Engage with the warm smiles of the local villagers, and discover the living heart of Cambodian spirituality.
Immerse yourself in the beauty of the falls, where the sounds of rushing water create a natural symphony for a memorable experience. Take a refreshing dip in these sacred waters (allow approximately 45 minutes). Capture stunning photos as rainbows shimmer in the mist. Kulen's ethereal beauty is a photographer's dream, offering postcard-perfect images at every turn.
As we journey back to Siem Reap from Kulen Mountain, we will pause for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

Tom was very knowledge and friendly there were so many opportunities to try the local snacks. Tim the driver was also great and always on hand with cold water and towels.
This was a really interesting tour. Extremely beautiful scenery mixed with great history telling. My guide Thom and his assistant T did an excellent job. I can highly recommend this tour.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing experience exploring Phnom Kulen with Mr. Thom. He was such a wonderful guide — knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history and beauty of the place. What made the experience special was that he never made the tour feel rushed or routine. He took the time to explain the significance of the different sites and made sure I was comfortable throughout the trip. He was also incredibly helpful with photos and knew some great spots to stop and enjoy the scenery. As a solo traveller, I really appreciated having someone so kind, attentive, and reliable with me. Mr. Thom was always prepared with bottles of cool water, wet towels and continuous suply of local snacks for me. Phnom Kulen was one of the highlights of my Cambodia trip, and he played a big part in making it such a memorable experience. Highly recommend Mr. Thom to anyone visiting Phnom Kulen! 🙏🌿
I think if a guest is looking at what to do in Cambodia, this is a great activity to do as a rest or relaxation day AFTER seeing the temples, AFTER seeing the elephants, AFTER seeing the Aspara Dinner Show. I think there are more key experiences to have in Siem Reap than this one, but, I did really like this tour and I had a great guide. I was very thankful for Mr. Tom and his excellent service. Mr. Tom always had cold water available and a cooling towel and even got me his local favorite treat so I could try it. I really enjoyed that and appreciated how prepared he was to make me feel welcome and supported. He also took me to several small temples in the area after the tour which was very kind. I put this tour in my itinerary as a "rest" activity before going to the temples, and I think that was a really good idea. Especially if you are coming from the western hemisphere or even Europe and Africa, this is a great tour to do when you are recovering from jet lag. I really liked the ridge view in Kullen National Park and the waterfall was beautiful and relaxing. I also got to see a reclining Buddha statue, which was a wonderful surprise to me. The heat of Cambodia is definitely something to consider when you are making your plans to come here. I would definitely not do multiple days of being out in the heat all day. This is a great activity to break it up and give your body a break while also seeing the beauty of Siem Reap.
My day trip from Siem Reap to Phnom Kulen was absolutely unforgettable. My guide, Thom, was incredible from start to finish. He arrived exactly on time and was fully prepared for the extreme heat with plenty of cold water and refreshing, cool towels. Throughout the journey, Thom was incredibly considerate, even stopping to buy delicious local snack foods to try along the way.The highlight of the day was swimming in the waterfall. The scenery was stunning, the water was perfectly refreshing, and it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Seeing the 1000 Lingas carved into the riverbed was also fascinating. If you are visiting Siem Reap, this tour is a must-do. Ask for Thom if you can!
Excellent trip. Thom was super friendly and knowledgeable - would highly recommend for anyone visiting Siem Reap
This is an excellent tour. Great to get out of the city, see the countryside and immerse yourself in nature. Our guide, Seng, was excellent with lots of local history and a professional yet laid back approach. Never in a hurry, he truly made our day a special experience.
What a wonderfully varied tour! Banteay Srey temple was so beautiful with the intricate carvings, and Pnomh Kulen was wonderful: Stunning vistas, a marvellous waterfall, as well as the 1000 Lingams and the reclining buddha! Plus Thom did a GREAT job explaining everything with enthusiasm and wit, as well as answering all our questions! The van was beautifully aieconditioned, and the cold hand towels and waters were lifesavers in the heat!
Thom was our guide and he was excellent! Hi English was great and he provided great information about the sites we visited. We highly recommend him.
I had an incredible experience on the Siem Reap to Phnom Kulen: Waterfalls & 1000 Lingas Tour with Thom as my guide. From start to finish, Thom was genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the beauty and history of Cambodia. You can really feel how much he loves what he does—he brought every stop to life and made the entire day exciting and meaningful. One thing that stood out was how he always knew the perfect spots for photos—seriously, every shot turned out amazing thanks to him! If you’re planning this tour and want a memorable, smooth, and enriching experience, I highly recommend Thom. He truly made the day special.
Thom was our guide and he was exceptional. He went very much in depth with all explanations and answered all our questions and doubts. He made sure we spend as much time as we wanted in every location and we never felt rushed which made the day perfect. Besides that he is super friendly and kind, (he even provided us with very tasty snacks we didn’t know about and of course drinks and wet cloths all the time. Thom made our experience 5 stars and we definitely recommend him so much that we will use his services in the rest of our tours 😊
Wow, amazing! I managed to beat the crowd and had the site seeing places to myself most of the morning. The admission fee was also included and took about 6 hours. My guide was so chill and very helpful. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Our tour guide Tom was very knowledgeable and helpful. We had a fantastic tour with our guide Tom. Our included: Kulen water fall, 1000 Lingas, Forest walk andHe was very friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience enjoyable. He explained the history and culture in a clear and engaging way, and we learned so much during the tour. One of the highlights was when he showed us a local spot that we would never have found on our own. I highly recommend this tour and his tour company Travel to Inspire. Money well spent.
Thom was a great find of a tour guide: punctual, incredibly polite, and patient with every question I had for him. His knowledge of Cambodia was impressive and he had a great eye for spotting photo opportunities, making sure I had beautiful shots to take home. On top of all that, his careful driving on a rainy day on dirt roads put me completely at ease, and he anticipated what I needed throughout the day, from bathroom brakes, drinks, snacks. I couldn't have asked for better!

Visiting Phnom Kulen from 1000 Lingas was a trip I simply couldn’t wait to do, especially as a big devotee of Shiva. The views were absolutely breathtaking, the natural beauty was stunning, and the peaceful energy of the mountain made the whole journey unforgettable. Our tour guide Thom was friendly, knowledgeable, and very informative, sharing the history and spiritual significance in a way that made the experience even more meaningful. It truly was an amazing day and one I’ll always remember.🙂
I very much enjoyed the tour in quite a unique and spectacular environment. Thom was an excellent guide and provided an enjoyable tour around the Kulen Mountains at a great pace.
We had heard great things about Phnom Kulen and wanted to add it. What initially drew us to Travel to Inspire was the added opportunity to support education since 50% of the profits go in that direction. After booking with our guide, Thom, we were more confident in our decision. Prior, he readily responded to questions we had leading up to the trip and he confirmed with ua details the day before. On the day, he picked us up on time with a bright spirit and a cool car. He was knowledgeable, kind, and open to discussing all of the questions we had. He took us to so many local food/snack locations. AND he took some amazing photos. As the tour went on, he added a few additional stops based on what we were discussing (and even helped me get some Cambodian rice). Overall we were very pleased with the tour and the company. Thank you, Thom, for everything!
Great trip - Thom arrived on time and kindly provided water, some local snacks and some cool towels. He was very knowledgeable and informative, and very patient and helpful as i had broken a bone in my foot so was slow and he was very kind and assured me not to rush. He took some great photos!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Review for Travel to Inspire We had an amazing experience on the Siem Reap to Phnom Kulen tour, which included the waterfalls and the incredible 1000 Lingas site. Everything was well-organized and exceeded my expectations. A special mention goes to our tour guide, Thom. He was absolutely outstanding—punctual, informative, polite, patient, and very accommodating throughout the entire trip. Thom shared fascinating insights about the history and culture, answered all our questions, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and engaged. His professionalism and warm personality truly enhanced the experience. If you’re looking for a memorable and hassle-free adventure in Cambodia, I highly recommend Travel to Inspire and Thom as your guide. This tour is a must-do!
It was an amazing experience. Thom as a tour guide was trying his best to explain Cambodian life and history, giving u hints to enjoy Cambodian snacks and food. Highly recommended
Was a great day out. The views were spectacular and the visit to the temple was well worth it. Enjoyed the swim at the waterfall. the day flew by. Our guide Thom was exceptional and very accommodating. He was knowledgeable and gave us a good insight into the life of the local communities.
Thom was an incredible guide for our tour today! We tried local foods together and he interacted with all of the locals and told us what they were saying. We stopped at the 1000 Linga and Thom gave us such interesting insight into the history. After, we went to the local primary school and got the chance to say hello to some of the kids which were adorable! We went to a temple after which had the reclining Buddha statue. Thom gave us each a lotus flower to use as an offering and we got the chance to strike the gong while he told us about the beliefs behind the practice. After leaving the temple, we had a blast swimming at the waterfall and an amazing lunch. Lastly, we went to a temple which is in ruins and covered with trees - truly breathtaking! Thom and our driver were kind enough to provide us with ice cold water and clothes after each stop and even dropped us off directly at the airport. The care taken by Thom and our driver today was incredible! They allowed us to immerse ourselves fully into the culture, interact with locals and support them directly.
Thom was an incredible guide!! He was so friendly and kind not only to us but all the people we past on the way. He even got us food from the locals to try, which was delicious! The tour was beautiful and informative. I would not only recommend this tour but also Thom as a tour guide!!
Thom was an amazing guide, he was very knowledgeable and friendly. The views were spectacular. The overall experience was top tier, would highly recommend.
We had Thom and our driver all to our selves for the Kulen National Park and 1000 Lingas tour and we really enjoyed the day. Thom was knowledgeable and made the day extra special with the numerous samples of local food. Our highlight was getting to hit the gong at the reclining Buddha temple and swimming in the beautiful Kulen waterfall. Would highly recommend the tour! Also great that 50% of profits go to help educate the village children.
Great experience and pleasant day. Day rich in emotion so amazing to discover and thanks to Tim for accompanying us all day and who made us discover the cliff. The waterfalls, the temple in very good conditions and attention. Recommend
A great day with Thom who walked us all day in Phnom Kulen Park and Banteay Srei Temple. He is attentive, super interesting in his explanations which made us have a great day. Recommended absolutely. You can go with your eyes closed
Super wycieczka! Dopasowana do naszych potrzeb! Wodospad - świetnie widoki i możliwość odświeżającej kąpieli. Serdecznie polecamy!
Sokun was a very good guide. He speaks good French. Smiling and pleasant. Adapted to our requests (group of 11 adults). Beware there are walking and markets...
