About Activity
In this 12-hour excursion, experience life on the revered Tonle Sap Lake at Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary. You will board a boat and take a 1-hour 30-minute cruise across the lake to Prek Toal floating village. Our guide will introduce us to the lake’s unique ecosystem and its flora and fauna as we enjoy a picnic breakfast. After breakfast, you will change boats to visit the bird sanctuary accompanied by a local ranger, who will share his extensive knowledge. There is the chance to climb a treetop platform to view bird colonies. You will join lunch prepared by the community floating restaurant and visit an environmental education class and water hyacinth handicraft workshop. You will board a traditional Khmer paddle boat to learn about life on the water from a resident family and visit crocodile and fish farms, a floating school and floating gardens.
Please note: In February and March during the low water season, the treetop platform is not accessible.
