We'll start by leaving the hotel before dawn to watch the sunrise in front of Angkor Wat. We will enter the great temple in the dark (please bring a flashlight) from the rarely visited eastern side, and descend through the ancient cloistered corridors to the longest stretch of bas-reliefs in the world. Soak up the atmosphere of sunrise at Angkor from the edge of one of the library's ancient pools. Next, we will explore the interior of the great temple, spending two full hours exploring the corridors, central chambers and upper terraces of this splendid temple. Your expert local guide will unravel the countless stories hidden behind the reliefs and give you an insight into what life was like during the height of the Khmer Empire.
We will finish our tour of Angkor with breakfast outside the temple (breakfast not included), and a short rest.
We will continue the morning visiting Ta Prohm, one of the most symbolic Angkor temples that is covered by jungle. Ta Prohm, which once housed 2,740 monks, looks much the same today as it did in the early 1850s, when French explorer Henri Mouhot "rediscovered" this ruined site.
We will continue the morning in the city of Angkor Thom. We will pass the famous Terrace of the Leper King and the Terrace of the Elephants before reaching the Bayon Temple.
In "El Bayón" (12th century) we will see its beautifully carved central towers, covered with more than 200 enormous faces, to continue later towards the South Gate of Angkor Thom, flanked by a row of 54 stone figures on each side - gods the left and demons on the right - and the fortified city of Angkor Thom.
Enjoy the rest of the tour in the relaxed surroundings of the Angkor Archaeological Park before returning to the hotel. The visit ends between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.

We had fantastic 2 days at Angkor Wat with Sam and Naro. Sam has been explaining all details of the 10 temples we visited and gave us a good understanding of the Khmer lifestyle and traditions. We got as much water as we wanted and cold towels were provided once it became hot

Good tour for the price! Pal was a good tour guide and was enthusiastic about going over all the details of all the temples. The tour was a bit grueling due to the sun and heat, but they constantly provided cold water and cold towels to freshen up.
We did a private Angkor Wat sunrise tour with Journey Cambodia at the beginning of September 2026. Setha was our guide and Sambath was our driver for the day. Communications before the tour was very prompt and they kindly accommodated our request to change tour dates due to possible rain. During the tour, Setha was very knowledgeable and knew the best spots for photos around the different temples. He was also a very good photographer, assisting us to take memorable photos of our visit to Angkor Wat. We learnt so much about the area and the different temples from Setha. Sambath, our driver, also looked after us well, having the van running with AC on whenever we returned to it and always having a cool wipe and cold bottle of water ready for us. We enjoyed our private tour with these 2 gentlemen and would highly recommend doing a private tour, if budgets allow, to have the full attention of the guide and to be able to follow our own schedule instead of waiting for everyone else. Thank you again Setha, Sambath and Journey Cambodia for our eye-opening and educational tour of Angkor Wat and its surrounds. Things to note: 1) The Angkor Wat temple fee is not included in the tour price. Easiest would be to purchase it online before the tour date. 2) The Angkor Wat temple ticket is for a specific date so if you change your tour date, there is some hassle with the ticket inspectors at the different temples, having to explain the date change.
We did the Angkor Watt sunrise tour with Mr Serakyuth. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made a great effort to take amazing photos and talked us through the intricate carvings on the monuments. A great tour!

Can really recommend the sunrise tour with Journey Cambodia, we went as a family of 4 and really enjoyed it. Bun, our tour guide was brilliant, very knowledgeable and funny. He showed us the key sites, pointing out interesting things we would have missed and was always I'm hand to take a great family photo. The driver Vichit did a great job always ready with cold towels and water whenever we got back on the bus which along with the A/C was much appreciated. Would definitely book other tours with them.

The tour is very nice. Point to point pick up and drop off. Our tour guide Mr. Pal has full knowledge of the history and explained very well to us. Mr. Da, our driver, also provided very good services with bottled water and iced towel, which is a life-saver during the hot summer. An amazing trip to witness the sunrise over 1 of the Worlds 7 wonders. We had a very experienced guide Sak, who was able to ensure that we were ideally positioned for a wonderful view. We had an incredible sunrise tour of Angkor Wat, and it truly exceeded all our expectations. From the very beginning, our guide made us feel so welcome, he even called us “family,” which set such a warm and caring tone for the entire experience. Mr. Bun was absolutely fantastic. I went to Siem Reap and bought the sunrise tour (4h30 am to 12h30pm). I did it with Bun and Seyha in a group of 6 people. Seyha was a careful driver and very attentionate (even gave us refreshing towels and cold water throughout the day). Bun was an amazing guide. He provided us with good, interesting and thorough information. He also was generous enough to share some of his life experience of Cambodia's history, which was very eye opening for me as a Canadian. I loved the day and the tour, I 100% recommend it and would do it again.

He worked hard to make sure we got an amazing view of the sunrise at Angkor Wat with no one in front of us! I went on the private sunrise tour( not sure if I chose right tour option on this page but it was completely private for me and my wife only ) ,My guide was sooo good ,he took fantastic pics ,tailored our itinerary wonderfully to have me back in hotel by 11 am so I could have breakfast at hotel (and a packed breakfast at pre sunrise site which helped with time management ) and relax for my afternoon flight before leaving and we still managed to see so much .Unfortunately I seem to have lost the name of my guide but he was soooo good.
Our guide for the morning was Sok and his driver was Mr Mau. We had a great morning despite the early pick up at 4.30 am. Sok was very friendly and funny and knew a great deal about the history of Angkor Wat and the people of Cambodia which was fascinating. He knew all the best places for photographs and we visited 3 temples in total. The length of the trip was just right as it was about 7 hours and we were back at our hotel by 12 noon. I can highly recommend Sok and his careful driver Mr Mau for this tour. It concentrates on the highlights so you don’t get too overloaded with information and Sok made the tour interesting. The tour was also good value. We were picked up in a nice air conditioned vehicle which stopped between temples. It was about 11 or 12 dollars each excluding the Ankor Wat entrance fee which I felt was great value for money. Judith.

The guide Kiss was an incredibly upbeat character which really helped with the early start. His English was amazing and when describing the history of the temples he bought the past to life. He was also very helpful with getting the best photos for us. He was genuinely part of our lovely group for a day and we learnt a lot about Cambodian culture from him. It was a very hot day and when we got back on the coach the very friendly driver greeted us with cold face cloths and ice cold wate every time we got back in the van. The actual experience of seeing the sun rise over Angkor Wat was one of the hilights of my life. Incredible. The temple where Tomb Raider was filmed with the intertwined temples and tree was also jaw dropping. It was also fun to hang out with monkies im the last temple we visited. Overall I cannot fault the day.

I took the Sunrise tour of Angkor Wat. The bus picked me up at my hotel exactly on time so there was no delay. Journey Cambodia provided unlimited cold bottled water all day, and cold fresh towels about half way through the tour. I’d recommend going on the morning tour it is so worth it to watch the sun rise. Our tour guides were Bun and Keal. Both extremely knowledgeable, and made the tour so enjoyable and funny. They provided so much information about not just the temples but Cambodian history and culture. They were so friendly and gave clear instructions should anyone get separated from the group. We stopped for breakfast at a lovely cafe. They make sure to offer you the best photo opportunities and tell you where the best toilet stops are. I would like to come again and maybe do a two day tour of the temples. You buy the entry ticket in advance, I got the link from the journey Cambodia confirmation email. Can’t thank Bun and Keal enough for being so professional and making sure we all had a great day

We visited Augkor Wat for sunrise and few other temples. Our guide Saruon Pal was knowledgeable and shared lot of facts about each temple. Driver Seyah was kind and got us around safely throughout the tour. Would definitely recommend booking with them.
We took the Angkor Wat Highlights and Sunrise Guided Tour on 01 December 2025 with our guide, Mr. Pheap Rath, and had a very enjoyable experience. We were picked up after 4am and arrived before the main crowds, which gave us a good position to watch the sunrise reflected in the lake — a really nice start to the day. Top tip, wear protective clothing, there are mosquitos, if possible eco friendly mosquito spray is a bonus. Remember the day will heat up as it continues. While it gets busy as dawn breaks, those early moments in the dark waiting for the light are really lovely. Our guide was knowledgeable and clearly well-informed about the temples and their history. He shared a lot of useful information throughout the tour, as well as some personal background, which added interest. Although we visited many sites, the day felt well paced and I never felt rushed. The van was comfortable for our small group, with chilled cooling towels a welcome addition each time we returned to the van during the hot parts of the day, and cool water. Overall, it was well organised, informative, and very pleasant. I would happily recommend this tour and Mr. Pheap Rath to others visiting who wish to visit this tour.

We went on a tour with mr Sokpee to see the sunrise and tour the Angkor Wat area. It was an excellent day from the beginning to the end. Mr Sokpee was very knowledgable, perfectly organised and a very nice man as well. He knew everything about the area, the temples and he also gave us some stories from his childhood, which I always find interesting!! When I am back in Cambodia I will go with the same tour guide!!
This tour was well worth it. Sak was a great guide; he got us to the front of the dock before the majority of groups got there for the sunrise, which was nice. Sak was knowledgeable and it was nice hearing stories from his childhood growing up in the area. Vichet was also a great driver; refreshment towels waiting for us after our temple tours.

The bus was at our hotel for the early start ahead of schedule, and proceeded to do all the pickups in good time meaning we arrived promptly at Angkor Wat for good sunrise pictures. Our guide, Sak, was knowledgeable and personable, he gave tips on good photos, shared history about the sites and ensured we all had time to get the experience we wanted.
