Our trip to Cambodia was amazing, and it was all thanks to our awesome private guide, Sam! Right from the start in Siem Reap, Sam was super welcoming and clearly loved sharing his knowledge of the area. He guided us through the Angkor temples, giving us insightful historical insights and local stories that made the place come alive. Sam's connections got us into some really great local spots, from delicious restaurants to bustling markets. We're so thankful for Sam's dedication and how he personalized our trip – it went way beyond just a tour, becoming a real adventure. We seriously appreciate everything he did and would totally recommend him to anyone wanting a real taste of Cambodia!
Good trip. Well planned and excellent guide. Guide was on time and gave good information. Car was very comfortable.
I got a tour guide who was a very dull person and did not give proper insights into the history of the place, would only talk when asked, was trying to rush through the tour and finish off early than the scheduled time. This tour was disappointing compared to my other Siem Reap tours
My partner and I toured with Mr. Sam. He was super kind and knowledgeable. He arrived on time and helped us with our early morning trip to the Angkor Wat complex. I messaged the tour group ahead of time and let them know that I had a special surprise planned for my partner and Mr. Sam secured literally the best viewing seat for the sunrise above the Angkor Wat. Mr. Sam was kind to many people along our journey and spoke with and seemed to know many folks along the way. His knowledge was super helpful with our tour and we were able to imagine how the complex looked hundreds of years ago. we felt very comfortable with him. He had plenty of water and cold towels available if needed. He checked in on us throughout the trip to see if we were well. overall he was warm and caring and we would recommend him to anyone we know. He took so many photos in different modes including panoramic. He knew all of the great photo areas as well.
We took this tour with 2 school grandchildren (ages 12 and 10). This was the best tour for us and them. Our guide (i believe his name was Sam) was very informative and always very attentive. He was very knowledgable and we enjoyed the tour very much. This is a must tour for anyone visiting Cambodia. You will not be disappointed. Siem Reap Tour was on time and very attentive. You will not be disappointed.
This tour was the highlight of my time in Siem Reap! Sam Kh was the most outstanding tour guide and throughout the entire day provided the most amazing information, history, and stories about each place we visited. Starting your tour at sunrise is a magical experience and one I recommend if you are doing a day tour of the temples. We had a jam packed day of visiting multiple temples and Sam made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire day! Each temple was beautiful and learning about Cambodia's history throughout this tour was wonderful. Add this tour to your list of things to do in Cambodia, you won't regret it!
Amazing tour guide. Great stories, insightful facts, adaptable, outgoing. Highly recommended. Very punctual and energetic throughout.
Sam was absolutely fantastic. We learned so much of the history of Cambodia and lots of details about the temples. The air conditioned van was great for the family. Sam took us from 5am to past 3pm. We started with a great sunrise and Sam paced us throughout the day. Never felt rushed and Sam also took many great family photos for us too. Highly recommend. Ask for Sam Kh.
We are glad to return to Cambodia and visited 3 of the best Angkor temples that it is totally different from our last trip before pandemic. We do Angkor temples started from sunrise at Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm just see a few people around so we have more private times to explore and absorb the smell in dept of ancient heritage and took a bunch of lovely photos. Our guide Mr Sampho is very impeccable in general knowledge as like as ancient history teacher with some Hindu myths to entertain us while we are really enjoyed with the great atmosphere and we are highly recommended Sam to everyone and wanna travel to Siem Reap Angkor Wat Cambodia now is the best time.
Samuel Pho Aka Sam is an excellent Siem Reap Tour Guide to explore around Angkor Wat and other temples nearby or the remote ruins such as temple on top of mountain, The Preah Vihear. He has great knowledges about the area and knows all likes his palm. We are strongly recommended him to anyone.
During our short visit to Siem Reap, we knew we had to go tour a couple of temples so our group of 6 chose this private tour so we could see what we wanted and at our own pace. We couldnt have selected a better tour and Mr. Mouy was fantastic. He gave great insight and was able to answer my out of the box questions - I loved how he said he never received these questions before and now had even more information to share with future clients! I also appreciated how we were able to select where we wanted to go and werent forced to go to any specific temples that we all werent collectively interested in. Lastly, he captured some really great photos and angles without a bunch of other people being in our photos - SCORE! I highly recommend this private group tour for anyone looking to see the amazing sunrise at Angkor Wat and any of the other beautiful sites there are to see in Siem Reap!
Name of my English speaking licensed tour guide of this tour was Chet. I highly recommend him as a tour guide. He was an excellent, polite, honest, courteous and very kind guide. He was very professional and a gentleman. He was very detailed in explaining the history of the temples I visited. If you get this tour please get chet. You will be safe with him. I was a solo Traveller and I sat at the back.
I and my friend visited Angkor Wat for 4 days. We highly recommended Mr. Oudom for tour guide private group because - Arranged and recommended program by our need with value of money - On time - Good car and driver - Provided the excellent services - Can speak both English and Thai - Took pictures at cool view points Thanks :)
Mr. Bunna picked us up from our hotel on time (5 am), we drove to get our tickets, and then to the outside of Angkor Wat to see the sunrise. Mr. Bunna was very thoughtful about where to wait for the sunrise based on where we would get the best view. He explained the area, answered our questions, and then asked if we wanted to spend some time alone watching the sunrise. We then moved a few meters to the right to see the sun on top of a specific area before heading to a restaurant for breakfast. After this, we went inside Angkor Wat, where he explained all the different areas. The rest of the day was similar, we drove to 4 temples (Angkor Wat, Bayon, Banteay Srei, and Ta Prohm), our car was always close to the entrance and the AC worked really well. It was very convenient to have a place to cool down and drink ice cold water from a cooler in the back. Almost forgot, Mr. Bunna is great at taking pictures!!! He knew all the spots and used our phones and camera to take great pictures of us together.
We came across “Sam” on TripAdvisor and texted his WhatsApp number — he responded immediately and confirmed our private sunrise tour for the next morning with Mr. Bunna. Mr. Bunna, a private driver, and our van showed up at our hotel at 5 AM the next morning! They took us to purchase our day passes and then we camped out outside of Angkor Wat for the sunrise. We stopped at a local breakfast spot for coffee and ate our hotel breakfast boxes. Mr. Bunna is energetic, passionate about what he does and knows so much! The temple visit would not have been the same without his context and stories. After fueling up we went on a full guided tour of Angkor Wat, Bayon & The Elephant Terraces and Ta Prohm (Tomb Raider!). We opted to skip out on one of the smaller temples and Mr. Bunna was very flexible. He offered to take us to lunch, but we ended up going back to our hotel instead. It’s a big day! But Mr. Bunna keeps you going. The full day starts with a 5 am pick up — they drop you back off at your hotel around 2:30 pm, but we got back around 1pm because we skipped one of the temples and lunch. This felt perfect for our group. Mr. Bunna knew how to beat the crowds, where the best photo spots were, and of course, a whole lot about these temples. Would highly, highly recommend! Thanks for everything!
We had an excellent time, thank you, Mr Sam, our guide and driver. Pickup and drop off at Airport, then a fantastic tour with a 5 am start, but you get to see dawn over Angkor Wat, and another 3 temples. Sam also took excellent photos, to make a very memorable trip. The company is very responsive to email, and to WhatsApp messaging. Well worth it, and a must-see site done well! Recommended.
We had an amazing time visiting Siem Reap I contacted the agency days before our trip to Asia and they were very helpful with all the information about the tours It was a very long walk during all the day but definitely is worth and highly recommended. Mr Ou Youhan is knowledgeable and his explanation about all the history behind each temple and the structures was amazing Thank you for give as this wonderful experience!
Bunna took the five of us around the major temples starting with sunrise at Angkor Wat - he is incredible! Friendly, personable, knowledgeable, and considerate of all of our needs. He tailored our tour so we could get the most out of our time and still see everything we wanted to, without wearing out our young kids of causing temple fatigue. Don’t bother looking elsewhere, Bunna is the best around!!!!
We are so happy we booked this tour and so lucky to have had Mr. Sam. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the site, in terms of Hindu Mythology, the various regime changes in the Khmer empire, and the contemporary situation of the sites and restoration efforts. His English is superb. Cannot recommend more highly. Also took excellent photos and kept us cool with cold water and towels.
It was all what we were looking for in Siem Reap. The Tour guide and the tour itself was amazing. We went for a full day visiting the most important temples in Siem Reap. I highly recommend you to take this tour.
We booked this tour with Sam based off the trip advisor reviews and Sam exceeded our expectations! He was awesome! The company is small and very quick to respond back to e mails with detailed information. With Sam you get to explore Angkor Wat and surrounding sites away from the large tour groups. The temples are big and there’s so much to look at but Sam is great. He gives you the inside scoop on the important things around each temple and was always right there to answer any off the wall question we had for him. He also knows all the great spots to take pictures. We went during the end of rainy season which is a bit of a gamble but fortunately had beautiful weather to see all the sites which is rare for this time of year. One bonus for going during rainy season is there aren’t as many tourists around so there aren’t a bunch of people looking at the same things and no random people in your photos. I have no idea what the other tour guides are like but you can’t get any better than Sam and our driver Tha. Thank you both for making our History of Cambodia trip an unforgettable experience!
We had the pleasure of being shown Angkor Wat by Sam. He was brilliant and a wealth of knowledge. He was on time to pick us up and showed us the best places to take photos. He also spent time taking many photos of us. A great tour, I highly recommend it!!!! Thanks Sam.
Amazing family trip, stunning Angkor wat temples, a must in life. Worth visiting very early for the sunrise, amazing views and less crowded. Very recommended to go in a tour or with a guide, you will take more of the visit. Three days is enough to visit everything.
We did our tour with Sam and his driver on 19th April. It’s an early start but you soon recover and start feeling excited as you drive towards the sunrise. Sam guides you through the ticket office and his driver drops you off at the best spots and offers cold water. Mr Sam is knowledgeable, and a great photographer who knows all the best places around the temples for pictures, how to miss the crowds, seeing everything at a comfortable pace, and stopping to catch a cool breeze! We took a packed breakfast with us from the hotel and decided to return directly for our lunch instead of stopping off somewhere. Excellent trip, our first and would return.
Our group of 4 did a 1 day tour with Sam Pho and driver Mr Nara. It was the perfect way to visit Angkor Wat and the other temples. Sam gave us such an insight with his knowledge and was more than happy to take some amazing photos for us. We're so happy we did the tour with Sam as we have taken so much more away from the experience than if we had visited on our own.
I just spent the weekend in Siem Reap with six of my peers (we are university students), and we booked a two-day tour with Siem Reap Guide Services to see the temples of Angkor, Tonle Sap Lake, and a few other sites in between. Best decision we could have made. Sam Pho is the best tour guide in Cambodia!! Throughout our tour, he taught us all about the ancient and modern histories of the country, as well as the purpose of each temple we visited. Plus, he provided us with an air conditioned van that fit us all, unlimited cold water, and cold towels to cool us off (which were essential to surviving the 97 F weather). We began day one with watching sunrise at Angor Wat, the highlight of the trip. This moment is 100% worth the early rise--so beautiful. This is a must-do when visiting Siem Reap. After visiting the main temple, we spent the rest of the day in Angkor hopping from one place to the next. We got to see so much in one day, which was just how we wanted to do it. We even got to visit one of the more hidden temples that busses cant access on the dirt road, so very few people were there--was good to get away from the crowds for a little. Sam knew all the secret spots for the best views and photo opportunities, we definitely got to see a different side of the temples than most people do. On the second day we visited the fishing villages on Tonle Sap Lake as well as the untouched temple of Beng Mealae. Again, wonderful day. I recommend everyone to book with Siem Reap Services--affordable and truly amazing itinerary. The two-day tour is perfect for a weekend.
Booked this tour along with the trip to Cambodia very last minute, what trip would be complete without a visit to Angkor Wat? Booking the tour could not have been any easier, Sam was quickly responsive and helpful for getting ready for the tour. After pleasant discussions with Sam, he reconfirmed that I would be picked up at my hotel promptly at 0500. At 0500 my driver and tour guide were 5 minutes early. I was very fortunate to have the tour guide Sophat! Sophat was so very informative, knowledgeable, and passionate about Angkor Wat. He provided me with so much history and knowledge he immersed my experience there to its fullest. The service was spot on and I had many laughs and learned so much. Big thanks for the logistics Sam, and many thanks to Sophat for the many pictures I asked you to take and literally books and books worth of knowledge!
We had 3 adults, 1 teenage and 3 kids in this private tour. Like how other people have done it, we requested our hotel to pack our breakfast for the day. Dr. Dee and the driver came to our hotel at 5:00am. They were very helpful in getting us and our breakfast into the air-conditioned van. Wet paper towel and cold water was already available in the van. We first stopped at the ticket office to buy the admission tickets (credit card accepted). So early in the morning, so it was nice to grab a coffee there. After that, we headed to Angkor Wat to wait for the sunrise. It was beeeeaautiful! Kids loved it, and they especially enjoyed playing with the cats and ducks there. After sunrise, Mr. Dee led us to a table where we enjoyed the scene and breakfast in Angkor Wat. In the next 3 hours, we were led through the different parts of Angkor Wat and learned about the tales and history. They then led us to stop by an ice-cream shop before heading to Bayon Temple. We stayed in Bayon for about 45 minutes. We then went to a nearby (air-conditioned) Cambodian restaurant. Finally, they drove us to Ta Prohm (the site where they filmed Tomb Raider) for about 2 hours. The tour ended at around 2pm. The tour was VERY informative, and I have learned a lot! Mr. Dee knows the history and background of the places in details. He was very attentive and stayed with us the whole time. AND he is sooooo professional in taking photos for us. He knows that sweetest spots for taking high-quality photos (especially with iPhone). I highly recommend this tour.
We actually did two tours. the first day was a half day tour of Tonle Sap lake, the floating village and a lotus root farm. The second was a sunrise full day tour of Angkor Park. our guide Mr.Sam Choeun was outstanding, knowledgeable, funny and very kind. He went the extra mile in answering our questions about not only the sites but the lifestyles we were seeing around us. Our two drivers, a father and son team of Mr. Vanny and Mr. Nara were excellent, good drivers and excellent hosts. Thank you very much for a great introduction to Cambodia
We were very lucky to get the owner himself, Sam Pho, as our guide for 3 days. Just an amazing experience. Don't do this on your own unless you have a ton of time to kill. He knows exactly where to go and when to go. His knowledge of the temples and the history is amazing and it's like walking around in a story book. He will cater to all your needs and is more then willing to change the itinerary if you have something different in mind. I can honestly say that Sam made our trip!
I travelled solo to Siem Reap and had Mr. San Park as my tour guide and driver. Mr. Park always arrive on time and professional. Highly recommending Mr. Park!
I booked 3 days with this agency to discover Angkor and its surroundings and I was not disappointed. my driver and my guide Sam pho were perfect. they made me discover the temples in joy and good humor. they are very professional and punctual. I spent 3 days dreaming. To be able to visit these temples with such an experienced guide made me live exceptional moments and I wanted to say a big thank you. it was a trip to another time. thank you so much. see you very soon.
Our family of 12 (ranging from 24 - 68 years old) had less than 48 hours to see the sights in Siem Reap. I corresponded with Mr. Sam via Whatsapp and arranging the 2-day tour was seamless. Our wonderful guide and driver Mr. Sam and Mr. Tha were punctual at our hotel each day. They both spoke English very well and created the perfect itinerary to see the highlights in two days. We loved the sunrise tour and seeing the floating villages. We also had great meals at the restaurants recommended. The cold towels and cold waters were such a nice touch! I highly recommend their services, we felt like we saw so much and learned a lot in a short amount of time! I would say for our large family 3-4 temples a day was our max (temple fatigue is real) and Mr. Sam arranged for us to see great temples that maximized our experience in Cambodia! Loved our trip!
Sorpon and Nara were our tour guide and driver, respectively. The van was spacious and all around comfortable to be in. Along the way, the tour guide had already started telling us information, and told us that the tour was flexible and we could stop by any place we wanted to at any time (including a lunch place). The tour also included free bottled water, which is great, since anyone who goes on temple tours know that one will perspire a lot during the trip As for the trip itself, the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the places we visited, and told us many funny yet informative stories on the embossed walls of the temples. Furthermore, he willingly took all of our pictures (Buddha nose to nose, various panoramas, etc.), and they were pretty good ones as well. Overall the trip was fun and informative, but exhausting.
Mr.Bunna was our tour guide and we had a great time. He was very knowledgable and spoke good english. The booking was uncomplicated and quick per e-mail. We wrote what's impirtant for us (f.e that we want to beat the crowds as much as possible and want to have nice photo opportunities). This was well respected and Mr. Bunna gave us very good tips. We also felt that we really beat the crowds as much as possible in the tourist hot spots. The restaurant where we had lunch was a tourist trap imho with very high prices (7 dollars for french fries), but if it supports the community i'm fine with that. I would like to see reusable or compostable straws though and more eco friendly products. Anyway, I highly recommend their private tours and Mr. Bunna!
My wife and I travelled to Thailand and Cambodia for our honey moon. We contacted Sam Pho several months in advance of our travels to set up a private day tour of Angkor Wat and some of the surrounding temples. Sam was extremely helpful and responsive to our emails. On the day of our tour, Sam picked us up at the hotel at 5 AM to head to Angkor Wat for sunrise. Along the way, Sam discussed a lot of the history of Angkor Wat and Cambodia in general. The sunrise at Angkor Wat was amazing. After watching the sunrise and eating breakfast, Sam took us around Angkor Wat and answered any and all questions we had while explaining more about the history of the temple. When we finished at Angkor Wat, Sam took us to the Bayon, Ta Prohm, and another temple in the Angkor complex. The day was not only a highlight of our honeymoon but a highlight of any vacation I have gone on. Sam was excellent throughout and demonstrated great knowledge of the area. His english was excellent as well. Thanks Sam for making our Angkor experience something we'll remember for the rest of our lives!
I arranged 3 days of private tours for me and my wife which included Angkor Wat, Prasat Kravan, Ta Prohm, Ta Keo, Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphuon, Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, East Mebon, Banteay Srei, Banteay Samre, Pre Rup, Beng Mealea, Lolei, Preah Ko, and Bakong. Our guide, Mr. Bunna, and our driver, Mr. Leak, were simply fantastic. Mr. Bunna has a real deep understanding of the history and the background behind the sites we visited, so despite the number of sites we visited, we did not get bored or tired (mentally). Because we stayed at Siem Reap for 6 days, I asked that we do not do the tours on 3 consecutive days, which the Guide Service was more than happy to accommodate. This was very helpful in keeping us physically fresh (as we are both over 60 years old). Mr. Bunna and Mr. Leak were also very flexible with our schedule so we were able to stay as long or as short at each site as we like. Mr. Bunna also has a particular knack about where to take good pictures and we have some wonderful shots thanks to him. In short, I highly recommend the Siem Reap Guide Services and in particularly Mr. Bunna.
Have had an amazing 2day tour with Sam choeun he made our day fun and he was extremely knowledgeable which ever temple we visited. Our 1st day we visited ankor watt, tomb raider and bayon temples all very different but well worth a visit, we had a rest day then visit ankor watt at sunrise leaving at 4.30am then bantreay srei temple and then on floating village. We'll worth doing and relaxing at your hotel after. Thanks Sam you were amazing and our photos are great
As mentioned on other reviews, we exchanged a few emails with Sam before arriving in Siem Reap and everything went smoothly. We booked 3 one-day tours with Mr Yuhan, and we had a great time: he was informative, knowledgeable, flexible, very professional, his English was excellent and he even threw in a good dose of humor. I totally recommend taking a tour guide to visit Angkor Wat and the surroundings (no way you can get so much insight on your own), and I also totally recommend the Siem Reap guide Services.
We only contacted the guide service a couple of days previous to going and they were extremely quick in accommodating our request. Sam (our guide) met us at our hotel the morning of the trip at 5am as we wanted to do the sunrise tour. We were picked up in a specious air-conditioned van and taken to pick our tickets up, which are a separate cost to the tour guide. Once we got into Angkor we headed to Angkor Wat to watch the sunrise, it was great to see although i imagine it to be even better on a day with clear skies! Sam was fantastic throughout the trip, he was extremely knowledgable, gave us a feel for his own personal experiences and was forthcoming answering any questions. He knew all the secluded spot to visit, including some of the smaller temples that are not as busy but we actually enjoyed a lot more. We had cold water and cold towels throughout the trip, when we were in and out of the van. Our driver Vanny was also very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend Sam, Vanny and this whole experience.
Our guide was Mr Bunna who was an excellent guide with great knowledge and great English. We spent 2 days doing the temples and floating village tours. The service and vehicle were both of high standard and very good value. Highly recommend this guide service.
Follow the advice of Siem Reap Guide Services and you'll have a great time. Sam emailed and answered any question efficiently before we arrived and we duly requested the hotel to do a breakfast box. Mr Yuhan and Mr Leak arrived at the unfriendly hour of 4.45am but they were right to do so - we timed our arrival to watch the sunrise behind Angkor Wat perfectly. Their knowledge of the weather and tourists meant we were able to avoid the crowds. Yuhan's English was impeccable - he could even explain the engineering of the temples and the fundamental principles of the two main religions in English. Not sure I could do the same! My friend and I were very interested in all aspects of the temples and Cambodian history and Yuhan was extremely knowledgable and made our tour incredibly interesting. I couldn't recommend him highly enough and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Very well serviced by Sam in our 2 day stay. We visited some temples and local areas. Guide very helpful and providing insightful information.
Young has a good local knowledge of Seim Reap and took me out on a local boat on my last day. It's clear that the Cambodian locals need to be paid more for what they do so rather than going in for big tour companies that are run by Chinese, pick on that is owned and run by good locals that can benefit from the tourist dollar.
There are not words great enough to express how much we enjoyed our private tour of Siem Reap with Odynova tours. Our guide, Phally, and our driver, Smith, anticipated our every need. I highly recommend Phally, Smith, and Odynova tours. The hotel was great, the food was wonderful and the guide and driver were unparalleled.
As a group of three, we did a private Tour with Mr Kim exploring Anker Wat and the surrounding temples (Small Circuit). As usual we weren't particularly organised so we were really happy to be able to book the tour via WhatsApp just one day ahead. This was the best way to start our 3-day stay in Siem Reap since we got a lot of information and got to see the typical great picture spots without having to follow the crowds. Mr Kim, who spoke English well and was easy to understand, was very knowledgeable about the temples but also loved to share his opinion on Cambodian culture. Having a passion for photography, I loved that he always pointed out where the good picture spots were, how to avoid having a ton of people in your pictures or any construction at the temple. He was also incredibly patient when I asked him if we had time to put up my tripod to take some long exposure pictures. I really appreciated that since I barely ever feel like I have the time to do that on a tour. All in all definitely to be recommended and when you like to have someone who enjoys to take funny pictures, ask for Mr. Kim. ;)
Every aspect of the trip was handled perfectly from booking and pick-up to the actual tour and drop-off. Mr Leak (driver) and Mr Bun (tour guide) showed up promptly at 4:45am. We quickly transited to the ticket office and made it to Angkor Wat for the sunrise. Throughout the entire tour, Mr Bun provided what was essentially a history lesson of each temple from it's Hindu start, transformation to Buddhist temples and the excavation and restoration process. After each stop, Mr Leak had a cool towel and a cold bottle of water waiting in the car. The AC was definitely a welcomed aspect on such a humid, hot day. Highly recommend booking this tour!
Magica, the temples look like something out of a story. The people are very friendly. Cambodia, Siam Reap, is worth a visit.
