Definitely worth the tour if you're visiting Siem Reap! Over the three days, Mr. Sak, our guide, took us on an incredible journey through Cambodia’s rich history, sharing fascinating stories and insights along the way. Mr. Black, our driver, made sure we were always comfortable, providing us with fresh water and safely driving us to all our stops. Both were fantastic, experience highly recommended!

Itinerary
Day 1
1
This morning at 7.30am depart your hotel for the journey through the countryside to the world’s second largest freshwater Tonle Sap Lake. The Tonle Sap Lake swells to 12,000 km². During the dry half of the year, the lake shrinks to as small as 2,500 km², draining into the Tonle Sap River. Each year, millions of fish come to spawn in the seasonally flooded forest surrounding the lake, attracting a myriad of water birds as well as people, who have settled in villages along the shores and who live with the rhythm of the water. This ecosystem was classified as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1997. Take a boat trip to ‘Kampong Phluk’ a collection of three small fishing villages in an atmospheric flooded forest setting. Cruise through the village and see unique houses on stilts, and Cambodians at work in the floating forest. Our boat will meander slowly through forest canals, allowing you to catch glimpses of flora and fauna, and see a truly beautiful eco-system. Enjoy Khmer lunch at local restaurant and rest after Tonle Sap Lake. Note: Alternative from the Tonle Sap Lake during the dry season from 01 Mar – 31 June the group will visit Phare The Cambodia Circus (seat C) instead.
The ruins of Roulous are among the oldest Khmer monuments in the area, dating back to the 9th century reign of King Indravarman I. Witness the evolution of these magnificent temples from the early days of the Khmer empire up to its peak with the Angkor temples in the 13th century. There are three key Hindu structures that remain at Roulous; Lolei, Bakong and Preah Ko, which were all part of the ancient city of Hariharalaya.
Alternative from the Tonle Sap Lake during the dry season from 01 Mar – 31 August the group will visit Phare The Cambodia Circus (seat C) instead. Siem Reap’s most unique, authentic top rated evening entertainment. More than just a circus, Phare performers use theater, music, dance and modern circus arts to tell uniquely Cambodian stories; historical, folk and modern. The young circus artists will astonish you with their energy, emotion, enthusiasm and talent.
Day 2
2
We begin with a pre-dawn departure (4.00 to 4.30 am depending on the time of year) from your hotel for sunrise outside Angkor Wat. Enter the great temple in darkness from the little-visited eastern side, and creep along hoary cloistered corridors past the longest stretch of bas-relief carvings in the world. Soak up the atmosphere of dawn at Angkor Wat, from the edge of one of the ancient library pools. We then explore the interior of the great temple, spending a thorough two hours discovering the corridors, central chambers and upper terraces of this truly great temple. Your expert local guide will decipher the myriad of stories behind the bas-relief carvings, and give you an insight into life during the height of the Khmer empire. We end our tour at Angkor with breakfast outside the temple (take away, from your hotel), and a short rest.
This majestic site once served as the Khmer Empire's glistening capital city. Take a moment to consider its grandiosity before venturing inside the city.
Angkor Thom is the majestic site once served as the Khmer Empire's glistening capital city. Take a moment to consider its grandiosity before venturing inside the city. Arriving at the temple at Bayon, appreciate its beautifully crafted central towers covered in more than 200 enormous faces.
Pass by the famous Terrace of the Leper King, and the Terrace of Elephant.
One of the most atmospheric of all temples in Angkor. Once home to 2,740 monks, Ta Prohm today looks much as it did in the early 1850s, when French explorer Henri Mouhot ‘rediscovered’ this crumbling site. After exploring the maze-like interior of Ta Prohm, return to your hotel after a long but fulfilling day, which will leave you with a lifetime of memories of one of the wonders of the world.
Day 3
3
This morning start your Journey by travel to Preah Khan temple, a ruined but highly atmospheric mélange of tree roots and crumbling stone structures.
Move to Neak Pean an artificial island with a Buddhist temple on a circular island in Jayatataka Baray.
Visit the well-preserved Banteay Srei. The detailed reliefs on this smaller sandstone structure are regarded as the finest, most skillfully crafted in Cambodia.
Final stop at Pre Rup Hindu temple built as the state temple of Khmer king Rajendravarman and dedicated in 961 or early 962. It is a temple mountain of combined brick, laterite and sandstone construction. Late afternoon return to town after a memorable day exploration.

Our 3 day tour was made unforgettable because of our guide Mr Suk. His knowledge and presentation was outstanding. Highly recommended.
Unforgettable experience with Mr Suk ! His knowledge and presentation was superb. We would highly recommend asking Mr Suk as your guide if you book a tour. You won't be disappointed..he's excellent.
Bun and Da are fantastic. Bun was very knowledgeable, he answered every question, thoroughly knows the history be it religious or political, (lived through the Kmer Rouge). He was everything you’d ask for from a guide. Totally flexible and very caring. Da was the fab driver, careful and thoughtful. Both spoke great english. Highly recommend Journey Cambodia.
Pal Saruon, our guide, and Vireak, our driver, were absolutely fantastic! They were both incredibly friendly, helpful, and available for anything we needed throughout the entire experience. Pal was very knowledgeable and explained everything clearly, while always giving us the right amount of time and space to enjoy the places we visited and take everything in at our own pace. He was also an excellent photographer and helped us capture some amazing memories! Vireak was also fantastic, always kind, professional, and ready to help whenever we needed him. We had a wonderful experience with both of them and would absolutely recommend Pal Saruon and Vireak to anyone visiting Cambodia. Thank you for making our trip so special!
Ben organizzato, Dara e Sak sono due grandi
Beautiful experience! Thanks, Sak and Dara 😊
Just back from six days/5 nights in Cambodia on a private tour through Journey Cambodia that was absolutely spectacular. My friend and I were in Phnom Penh for a day and a half and then in Siem Reap for the rest. The travel and hotel booking was seamless. Both hotels were in excellent locations in the heart of the tourist areas surrounded by good food and cute shops. The hotels were beautiful and included lavish breakfasts, a/c, pools, and wifi. We had spa treatments at the hotel in Phnom Penh for extremely affordable rates. The highlights of the troops were the people. Our guides were extraordinarily knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. It was clear that they had a deep passion for sharing their information with us and they answered all our questions about the sites and country and then some. The guides spoke excellent English--communication was flawless. They also had great suggestions for area restaurants, activities, and shopping. Our drivers were very accommodating and provided us with airport to hotel to sites transportation. When we wanted to add to or vary the itinerary, the staff made it happen. The time visiting temples in Siem Reap was perfectly curated to show us the special qualities and unique aspects of each of these magnificent structures. Our guide and driver in Siem Reap, Bun and Sam Baht, were THE BEST!!!!!! I highly recommend asking for them--they will ensure you have an amazing experience. A special bonus was the ice-cold face cloths provided by Sam Baht each time we got back in the van--immediately refreshing after being out in the sun. I'm so thankful to all the staff who made our Cambodian journey the trip of a lifetime.
Amazing tour. Bun our guide was excellent! He was extremely in knowledgeable. He gave great tips for food. Our driver Sambath always had cold towels and water. Highly recommend.
I’m very happy to recommend this tour operator and especially the services of Bun and Sam who provided us with a very caring, informative and fun 3 day adventure. Having only a short period in Siam Reap, this trip gave us a brilliant insight in to Cambodia which the children (8 & 10) and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed. Cambodia’s difficult history is still very present but we loved every aspect of the tour - the bikes, markets, farms, temples, restaurant choices, boat, crocodiles! The 440am start was worth it to see the Angkor wat sunrise and although we were sceptical about visiting Apopo’s rats - it was very interesting and inspiring to hear how Cambodia is slowly getting rid of the land mines that have blighted to country since the Vietnam and civil wars. Bun kept a close eye on us whilst giving us space too, which was spot on. Genuinely recommend.
Our family (2 kids age 8 and 10) have just had the most amazing 3-day tour of Siem Reap with Journey Cambodia, including Angkor Wat and jungle temples, cycling through the countryside to see local farms and markets, and boating through the floating village on Tonle Sao lake. Our lovely tour guide Bun was very knowledgeable, kind and great with the kids. Our driver Sambath was always ready with a cold towel and bottle of water when we got back to the van. Journey Cambodia tailored our tour around our flights and kids and we definitely made the most of our short time to experience so much and get a fantastic grounding of Siem Reap and the Cambodian way of life, which is so much more than just Angkor Wat. It is an amazing country with wonderful people and we’d all love to come back!
Highly recommend a tour with Journey Cambodia. Over our 3-days highlight tour, we not only saw amazing sights, we also learned about Cambodia’s religion, history, and people. Our guide, Bun, welcomed us with the most sincerity and answered our most random questions which made this more than just a tour. It felt more like a journey that we didn’t want to end. Also wanted to highlight that Dara, our driver, made sure we were well hydrated, comfortable and cool all throughout the trip. We couldn’t have asked for a better team. We plan to return for another visit with them in the future!
I was part of a group of families attending a post-competition trip to Cambodia. I really did not have many expectations going into the trip and was just happy to accompany as staff for the trip. From the very first bus ride though, our guide Bun was so welcoming and friendly that he really livened up the trip for each journey we had to various temples and the Tonle Sap region. On one of the journeys we had he recounted his life story growing up as a child under the Khmer Rouge regime. It was a powerful and moving testament. Along the way, Bun made us all feel as part of his family, and we all enjoyed being referred to as 'Bun's family'! Amazingly, we felt a pang of sadness at the end of the three-days for someone who was just a stranger to us 72 hours prior. I can not recommend enough Bun's service as a guide. Not to be forgotten was our terrific driver Dara who always had a warm greeting, cold towels, and water ready for us at each stop. Thanks for a truly incredible experience Bun and Dara! Anthony (far left in the photo)
Great tour guide. Very organized and thorough.
Mr.bun and dala were the best tour guide I’ve ever had. Honestly my expectations for Cambodia were set very low. As kids we were taught about pol pot and killing fields. Most people viewed it as an unsafe country. But Mr. Bun and dala had us at ease. He showed us amazing sights and honestly blew my mind with what we saw floating villages Angkor watt 6-8 temples each one unique Mr bun exceeded my expectations of Cambodia and improved our trip by 1000% thank you to Mr bun and dala for making this trip so memorable
Mr. Bun and Dala were the best tour guides I have ever had. I truly felt like his family. Sven we were waiting to get to our locations, we heard such beautiful and sad story. Truly a great tour guide, Mr. Bun, we will miss you.
Our guide Bun and driver Dara are excellent. I highly recommend this exceptional tour company.
Uncle Sok :-) Thank you so much for making our family trip to Siem Reap truly special. My wife, my 7‑year‑old son, and I had a wonderful time exploring with you. We really appreciated how you not only shared fascinating stories about the temples and Cambodian history but also made sure our son was safe throughout the tour. Your patience in answering all of his endless questions meant a lot to us — it kept him engaged and made the experience even more memorable. It felt less like a guided tour and more like spending time with a friend who genuinely cared about our family’s experience. We’ll always remember this trip fondly and will happily recommend you to anyone visiting Siem Reap. Best regards, Chetan
Easy booking with Journey Cambodia. They curated 3 days tour according to our interest. Knowledgable sharing by our guide Mr Bun, who is also a great photographer. Mr Naro drove us around with a great smile.
Veryyy goood experience! Tour guide Mr Bun was lovely. He was able to explain everything in detail especially during the temple tours and through him we were able to get to know the history of Cambodia even better. He even supplemented some of his stories with personal experiences and photos which elevated our experience in the country. P.S he is also a very good photographer 😆 Our bus driver Mr Naro was very proactive providing us with cold towels and cold/ room temperature bottled water often and consistently drove us safely to the different destinations. Even on rough terrains he was careful and made sure the journey there was as smooth as possible. He also often arrives early and waits for us never letting us wait for him!
Very enjoyable holiday arranged by Journey Cambodia. Excellent service from our guide, Mr Bun, and driver, Naro.
We had a great family time with Mr Bun, our guide. His understanding with our families needs and guides to the specific locations for great photo shots are much appreciated. Naro, our driver gave us top class service with smooth and safe bus ride. Making water and cool towel for us all the time! Thank you Journey Cambodia for such a great experience in Siem Reap.
It was such an enjoyable experience touring around with our tour guide, Mr Bun, and our driver, Naro. Mr Bun would readily answer any questions we had to the best of his ability while Naro would always welcome us back onto the bus with cold water and towels to keep us refreshed! Would like to add that Mr Bun is very friendly and also shares his own experiences making the tour so much more personalised!!
Amazing in depth tour, our tour guide Mr Bun is extremely friendly and helpful telling interesting and insightful stories on our journeys, making the whole trip very fun and helping us to take incredible pictures. After being under the sun our bus driver Naro always provided us with cold water and cold towels and kept us safe on the road. Enjoyed myself a lot, Cambodia is so beautiful, definitely recommend!
Tour with Pal and Vira. In Angkor Wat we almost had too little time. Otherwise we had great experience at all the other tempels we saw during the two days. Because of dry season we were able to change our third day to see a local circus instead of visiting the floating village.
We enjoyed tour - Sak is very experienced tour guide and I learnt a lot of history in Siem Reap. He is one of survivor for Cambodian genocide as well. The driver Vireak also makes sure we are comfortable during the journey giving us water and cold towels :)
Had a great trip thanks to our driver, Sambath, and very knowledgeable tour guide, Bun. Traveled with mom and they helped made it senior friendly and helped mom as well with the steps at Ankor Wat to make it more safe and be able to explore more places. Well paced. Highly recommended. Thanks very much.
As I was planning my trip to Cambodia, a friend very highly recommended having Bun as my tour guide and I’m so glad I followed her advice! The online team with journey cambodia was very helpful in booking our tours. We were accommodated super well by the whole team and the itinerary was thoughtfully planned out. Bun and Seyha were kind and provided us with everything we needed as we travelled from temple to temple. It was very helpful, not only, to have someone navigate and drive us around to the best sites, but for them to share their lives and teach us about the places we were visiting. Journey Cambodia has also recently added a sunset feature where we got to ride bikes on the country roads, eat yummy local food, and watch the sunset from their beautiful new property! Overall, everyone was very kind and accommodating and I recommend this tour through Journey Cambodia with Bun and Seyha to everyone!
I booked the '2.5 Days Exclusive Temple Highlights' tour with Journey Cambodia and had Pal as my tour guide. The entire experience was flawlessly organized and exceeded my expectations. Pal is an incredibly knowledgeable guide with a deep understanding of Khmer history and the incredible details of each temple. What made this tour special was Pal's excellent timing. Whether it was the early morning departure for the Angkor Wat sunrise, exploring the jungle ruins of Ta Prohm, or visiting the more remote Boeng Mealea temple, he always knew how to navigate the sites to avoid the biggest crowds. The day trip to Kulen Mountain, including the River of 1000 Lingas and the Reclining Buddha, was perfectly guided. Pal's English is great, he was always professional, and he pointed out so many fascinating hidden details I would have missed on my own. The transport was also very comfortable, with a well-air-conditioned vehicle and cold water always ready. I highly recommend Pal as a guide to anyone visiting Siem Reap!
Very good experience and tour guide!
We had the best experience with a guide ever! Mr Sak knows everything about the country and is so happy to share his knowledge with us. We enjoyed his company for 3 amazing days and honestly we could never have asked for a better guide. The DMC Journey Cambridge is amazing and so easy to travel with! Always helpful and present for anything we needed. Our driver Vireak always had a smile for us and helped out a lot!
Wonderful service - will be recommending to our Australian friends visiting Siem Reap in the future. Personalised and friendly.
Thanks to the Siem Reap travel agency, Journey Cambodia, for making my vacation amazing! Great services by guide Mr Bun, driver Mr Dara and sales agent Ms Ana. Mr Bun is fantastically knowledgable and speaks English fluently. Not only was he able to provide personalized attention but he also has deep background to Cambodian history and sociopolitical scene. He is a remarkable tour guide and a star!
We had a wonderful excursion to the temples in Cambodia, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. The organization was excellent from start to finish, everything ran smoothly and on time. Our guide, Pal Saruon, was extremely professional, responsible, and well organized. He explained everything in a clear and accessible way, making the history and culture easy to understand for everyone in the group. He was always patient and happy to answer all our questions, which made the tour both informative and enjoyable. Our driver, GKill, was also fantastic, very kind and attentive. He constantly made sure we had enough water and adjusted the air conditioning according to our preferences, ensuring a comfortable journey throughout the day. We highly recommend this tour and the entire team for anyone visiting the temples in Cambodia.
We are very grateful to our amazing guide, Sok, for giving us such a wonderful experience in the Siem Reap area. We explored many stunning temples as well as the floating village, and each day was thoughtfully organized and perfectly planned.
We got Very good guide Mr Bonne and the safely drive driver Mr Richert. Both of them bring my group to all the places with safely. The food arranged was delicious and the clean hotel.
The tour was very interesting, and our guide Zak has been very reat in guiding us, showing the best spots and geting us the front row spot to see the dawn in Angkor!
We had the most incredible time in Siem Reap thanks to Sak, our amazing tour guide. He took us to all the must-see temples, the floating village, and the national park with the reclining Buddha. We even managed to beat the crowds and get front row seats for sunrise at Angkor Wat, a magical moment I'll never forget! Sak was always smiling, always available, and incredibly knowledgeable. He gave us historical background at every site and was ready to answer any question we had about Cambodia’s past and its current affairs. On top of that, he’s an excellent photographer who knows all the best spots and angles. If you want to get the most out of your stay in Siem Reap, we couldn’t recommend him more! A big shout-out as well to Vichet, our wonderful driver. He navigated the roughest roads of Phnom Kulen with absolute skill, drove us safely every single day, and greeted us each morning with a warm smile. Truly a pleasure to travel with. Overall, a 5-star experience from beginning to end. If you're visiting Siem Reap, you’ll be in the best hands with Sak and Vichet!
Both the driver Kea and Pal our guide were excellent. Both were very friendly and courteous. Will definitely recommend others .
The tour really matched my expectations. The guide was very well prepared and the driver very nice and professional. I would highly recommend this tour.
A wonderful tour of 3 days in the most important temples of Angkor. Special thanks to Zak e Vichet who accompanied our group in this days, making our journey in Cambogia and Angkor unforgettable
The most amazing country I’ve ever visited. A special thanks to the amazing Sak to acted as a perfect Cicerone and to Vichet for his incredible driving
You cannot do Ankor Wat and Siem Reap justice in less than three days. This is the biggest religious site in the world; it is awash in temples four of which stand head and shoulders above the others by their size and state of preservation. At the same time, you can't look at temples for more than eight hours straight without having your eyes glaze over. This tour is great because it's offered by a local, wholly-owned Cambodian company that uses local guides and takes you to three or four temples a day which means that there are shortish bus ride breaks in between in a small nicely air-conditioned bus. The company keeps the group sizes small; there were 8 of us which means lots of personalized service like as much ice cold water as you need, several cool clothe face towels a day to refresh, and as many questions answered as you want to ask. The first day focuses on the outer ring of temples, then starts the second day with a sunrise viewing of Ankor Wat temple itself. That 2nd day finishes with the famous jungle temple that stars in the movie Laura Croft Tomb Raider (definitely a C-level movie but the ruins are great... and will give you a feel for how you will experience a visit to this temple). Our guide Sok was superb; knowledgeable but also introduces you to Cambodia's pain from personal experience. Sok was a child soldier during the reign of the Kmer Rouge. It was serve under them or die. The rest of his personal story is gripping but for him to tell. We chose a visit to the fishing village on stilts for our primary third day experience and Sok took us as well to a small town market on the way. Can't recommend this small group tour company enough! We went just as the monsoon season was ending (beginning of November) which meant fewer crowds and cooler temperatures. But it also meant that it was overcast from a distant typhoon. So if you MUST see the sunrise over Ankor Wat, go in the high season when the sun will be cooking you to death.
This was one of the most memorable trips so far. Mr pal, our tour guide is highly knowledgeable. Used iPad to explain things which made it very easy. He showed each and every carvings in detail. Explained history and architecture with zeal. The driver mr k is also very good. The restaurants suggested were also very good!! We got vegetarian options.
Very well conducted trip. Our tour guide Mr Bun and driver Mr Dara were great. mr Bun took us everywhere and explained everything with a lot of passion. Mr Dara is a very good driver who also took care of our comfort in the hot sultry weather. His cool towels everytime we returned to the van was so welcome. Enjoyed our trip because of these two. Thanks to the company for organising this trip to perfection. 🙏
Excellent trip. Perfect for family ! Custom Private tours - we recommend staying 3 days in Cambodia before heading elsewhere
The tour was very good. Chea Sok and his team are very polite. We were able to sit at the front roll for the sunrise. He helped us to take good photos.
We absolutely loved our Siem Reap tour with Journey, Pal our guide & Wee our driver were amazing. Would recommend doing the tour & ask if possible for these 2 men, you won’t be disappointed
Our recent Cambodia tour was an unforgettable experience. The tour was well planned. A special mention goes to our guide Mr.Pal who's Knowledge and friendly approach.
Love our tour guide Chhay. Favorite temple was the under water temple because of the beautiful Lily Ponds you walk through to get to the temple
