Mr. Thean's service as a tour guide was so outstanding I could not recommend him enough. His deep knowledge about Cambodian culture, history, and understanding of both Hinduism and Buddhism lead to the tour being a very rich cultural experience. Not only that he showed so much hospitality by taking me to local restaurants for breakfast and lunch introducing me to Cambodian cuisine. On top of all that he was an amazing photographer! If you are planning a trip to Angkor Watt. I could not recommend Mr. Thean and Angkor Special Tours enough! 10/10 experience!

We had a 2 day tour with Mr Thean and Mr Ratha driving and couldn’t recommend them any more. Thean was an amazing guide - he had so much knowledge, took us around for two days in a configuration that meant that we were never in a really crowded environment, and captured some pictures that we will keep forever. We felt that we learned so much from him during the tour. Ratha was an excellent driver and was always at the end of a tour with the car waiting, cold water and a cold towel, which was very refreshing! Both Mr Thean and Mr Ratha made our trip extra special - thank you.
We booked the big Ankhor Wat tour with Ankhor Special Tour. The tour was beautiful and each temple was unique on its own site. I would especially like to thank Mr Thean and Mr LeeHov for the great 2 days and the many stories about Ankhor Wat and the culture of Cambodia.
The experience was exceptional! Pin, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about every site, providing detailed explanations throughout. Despite the heat, he consistently ensured our well-being. Additionally, Pin's photography skills were impressive, adding to our enjoyment of the trip. Overall, we had a fantastic time!
Thank you to our guide Pin Vannak For a remarkable time. Your English and your sense of humor was so fun and what a sight to see. Truly, a marvelous place where you can explore and just see amazing stuff before your eyes. Our children loved it and so did we. Take your time and enjoy the trip as it does get hot but if you’re prepared, it’s fine. Amazing photography, Amazing history and what’s super Guide!
We had a great time at Angkor Wat and second day at the Tonle Sap lake! Our guide,Vanthean, was very thoughtful and explained very nice about everything we needed to know! Both days tour is totally worth taking !
Easily the best tour of my life. To start I was late to the tour due to oversleeping, but instead of being upset Pin was patient and considerate. Moreover, I am a researcher in history and religion, and though I knew nothing about the Angkor period, I was stunned by Pin’s ability to adapt what he knows to my specific interests in areas like Buddhist theology and the geographical basis for Angkorean civilisation. Pin can adapt to any audience because he knows it all —from Hindu legends & Buddhist theology to the history of the Khmer empire to the finer points of temple construction. He is trained as a sociologist and this comes through in his ability to explain the ruins as part of a broader social context. Khmer civilisation came alive before my eyes thanks to his telling. And I appreciated that he knows a lot about modern Cambodian history as well, and is very capable of connecting patterns across the history of this place to the present. Finally, I love his gentle demeanour and smiling temperament. He is a calm, kind, and intelligent guide. He made my trip to the Angkorean ruins. And he even gave me excellent ideas to do a self guided tour on a day when he was unavailable to lead me (I would have booked him for a second day if I could). I chose the solo tour and it was worth every penny.
If you’re looking for a tour guide to explore Angkor Wat, Thean is the best! He is knowledgeable, polite and has a great sense of humour. He completely personalises the tour to suit you. We learnt so much from Thean and he patiently answered every question we had. He knew the best time to visit each temple to avoid the crowds and the best photo locations! Thean took the best photos and was like our personal photographer as well as tour guide. Having a personalised tour was the best as we could stay as long or as little at each temple as we wanted and ask so many questions Cannot recommend Thean enough!
We expected a professional service information from a good guide. What we did not expect was true passion, extra information, personal experience and unlimited time frame. Many years ago we had a guide in Mexico called Jesus , he was the very best we ever had until today.
We had a great tour with Pin. He was very knowledgeable with excellent English. He was very considerate of our needs and was always punctual. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour with Pin.
We had an amazing tour with Bullfrog! He clearly knows all there is to know about the temples, including where to take the best photos! He tailored to tour to us and gave us as much time as we wanted for each part. We were so happy with our experience and definitely recommend him for any cambodian tour experience!
Our tour experience with our guide Thean and the driver was wonderful! Thean took us to all the best spots before any other tourist had arrived, it was perfect for taking photos. They always had a new cold bottle of water waiting for us in the car and nice, cold towels to help beating the heat. Besides of Thean's impressive and detailed knowledge about the entire history of Angkor Wat and all the other temples included in this tour and the history of Cambodia, he also takes great photos! He was always kind to take photos of me and my boyfriend. We were very pleased to have booked this tour and that they were our guides, they were absolutely professional and friendly. It's also worth mentioning that Thean speaks perfect English! We will always recommend them to anyone visiting Cambodia. Thanks for everything!
A life changing experience. While on our honeymoon, we had a few different experiences that all were good, but our tour guide, Pin, made sure our experience was great in all regards. We saw amazing temples, learned more about local culture and historical events of Cambodia, and felt comfortable and engaged the whole time. Pin himself went above and beyond for us, capturing amazing photos (including panoramas and directing us on where to stand) and came to our aid when we ran into a problem around our flights home. I cannot recommend this company and this experience enough and would absolutely tell everyone I know that this is the company to work with.
This tour was fantastic, the temples were beautiful and our guide, Pin provided a comprehensive history of each building. I would recommend doing this private tour as it's the best way to see the area.
My wife and I had a fantastic time. Covers all the key temples in the area and beyond. Pin was our tour guide and is very knowledgeable and a brilliant guide.
My husband and I had the best guide ever! Thean was knowledgeable, informative and most considerate. We took the sunrise|/full day tour to Angkor Wat and the other temples. He showed us the best spots to take photos and take in the majestic views. As the day got hotter, Thean noticed our different energy levels and adjusted the tour accordingly so that we both enjoyed our tour at our own pace. Thank you, Thean, for a wonderful visit. Highly recommended guide who is deserving of his award as the top 10 guides.
It was an amazing tour with much information about the temples, the traditions, the cambodian people and the jungle wirh its plants and animals. Our tour guide Pin speaks good english, knows the best places and took very good fotos of us.
Our group had an amazing time on this tour thanks to our awesome tour guide Pin! The temples we're breathtaking in person and made our Cambodia visit totally worthwhile on our way to Thailand. Pin was extremely knowledgeable about all of the temples we visited and also shared valuable info about Cambodia, and was able to answer all of our questions. ...even more, ihe also took great photos of us and knew the best spots to take them and best lighting to capture the moments. It really felt like we were hanging with a good friend, and we definitely missed him when we left to continue our travels in Asia. I highly recommend this tour and visiting Cambodia if you're planning to travel to Asia.
My group originally planned to explore the Angkor Wat complex on our own, but at the last minute decided to look into arranging a tour. Upon the advice of a friend, we booked this tour and are so very glad we did! They were able to accommodate our last minute request and provided exceptional service throughout. Our guide was Pin and our driver was Tuna and I can’t recommend both enough. We learned so much about the temples, Cambodian history, culture and so much more. Not only did Pin give us excellent tours he also knew my husband and I were photographers and gave us awesome direction on the best places to take photos and was exceptionally patient when we lagged behind taking photo after photo! I can’t emphasize enough how this tour felt like more than a tour and included amenities we weren’t expecting - cold bottled water to take with us and waiting for us after each temple visit and cold eucalyptus soaked towels as well. The heat was … well really hot … and those towels were such a nice treat for all of us! Pin and a tuna went out of their way to help us out. They took us to dinner when we requested their help and even took us back to an airport to help (and translate for us) with a lost luggage situation. I highly recommend this tour experience. We wish we had stayed a bit longer in Angkor Wat - and most especially with Pin and Tuna. A common refrain since we left Cambodia for the next destination of our journey has been “we wish Pin and Tuna were our guides! Nobody compares!”
We’re so glad that we decided to book a guide & driver for our time at Angkor Wat. We felt the value was worth the price as we got not only the history of the temples we visited but also a local perspective. Pin answered all our questions and was flexible with our itinerary. If we visited on our own we would have left with only appreciating the architecture, however, with Pin as our guide we left with a more meaningful experience and memories we would never forget. He and our driver Tuna made our time at Angkor Wat that much better and that is why I would recommend him to anyone thinking about going to Angkor Wat. We saw a good variety of temples in our 1.5 days there. We’re amateur photographers and he catered the tour to our needs (sunrise/good photo locations/etc).
Pin was an exceptional tour guide. His knowledge and welcoming demeanor was a great way to ease into a new country. Our driver was also well prepared for the heat with cold water. We got the full experience of Cambodia and we're looking forward to coming back!
An amazing experience where I learnt all about the temples in the area and I couldn’t of asked for a better tour guide as his English and knowledge were incredible
We did a two day tour with Pin Vannak. It was superb. Prior to coming we were in contact with Pin and his communication was excellent and prompt. There are a number of reasons for choosing Angkor special tours, but the main one is that he is an excellent guide. He provided enough information , but not overload. At one stop another official guide had to ask him about the site we were at. We were also able to understand so much more about life in Cambodia. We stopped at a number of non temple places across the two days and he took us thru what was going on , who did what etc. Pin also likes a laugh too, given how good his English skills are. Small operators like him have had a hard time in the last two years and they deserve their share of the tourist economy. We were so glad we found him thru online research. We cannot recommend highly enough- find him , book him, you will be happy you did.
Me and a friend booked a two day private tour at Angkor Wat. The temples there were so impressive, absolutely a must have seen! Our tour guide Chen told us everything about the history and the culture, and he perfectly tailored the tour to our interests. Since it was a private tour we were able to take all the time we wanted everywhere we went. I would highly recommend to go to see the temples and I would also highly recommend the tour we booked. Just be prepared for the heat and at some places for the mosquitos, since you will be outside most of the time.
Chen was a really very well informed tour guide and had a lot of background knowledge about the history of Angkor Wat, the other temples and the country. Our tour guide gave us a good tour of the temple and was obviously happy to do so. the tuktuk was also organized so that we could get from one place to another very quickly. In addition, you got impressions through personal stories, so we had two great days, for which we are very thankful!
It was excellent trip with Vannak. He is much knowledgeable, intelligent and very attentive guide. The tour was beyond our expectations. We saw the most important temples in Angkor for two days because our tour was very well organised. Also we visit Kampong phluk village and Beng Mealea. He heard all our wishes and was flexible. Vannak told a lot of interesting stories about Cambodian life, politics and history. So, we are happy about him. Highly recommend his company for travel in Siem Reap region.
A friend of mine and I recently had the good fortune to book a two-day tour of Angkor Wat and other area temples and historical places in the Siem Reip area. We had an excellent experience and wholeheartedly recommend Angkor Special Tours to others. We had a comfortable, air-conditioned SUV to take us around town and from temple to temple and this is not a small thing. In the Cambodian heat, even in February, it is a welcome respite as you move between temples. Our guide, Mr. Thien, has encyclopedic knowledge of Buddhist, Hindu and Cambodian lore, legend and history. His English, while accented, is excellent and very understandable. His patter as he takes you exploring is well-considered and cogent, but his ability to answer your questions on the fly is just as professional. It is all about you and tailoring the experience you want at Angkor Special Tours. Start with one of their packages (we did a two-day excursion) but discuss any variations or special requests on the first morning and let them take it from there. I doubt you will be disappointed - we had a great experience, would repeat it, and highly recommend to others. Enjoy! Pro tip: Start at seven instead of eight in the morning and beat the heat. They will be happy to oblige!
Our group had a 2-day tour with Pin as our guide and Tuna as our driver. We had an amazing experience, Pin was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions that our group had. They provided cold water and cloths to help with the heat, and we rode in a very comfortable, clean, air conditioned van. Tuna was a great driver. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a professional tour at a reasonable price.
Pin and his driver, Tuna, were outstanding. Pin was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating to our specific requests. He spoke English very well. We felt safe with Tuna in the driver's seat for our two days. Amazing, informative tours. I would highly recommend.
Five of us (adults) experienced a two-day private tour of Angkor Wat and the surrounding area. Pin vannak, out tour guide, and his driver, "Tuna", took excellent care of us. We could not have been happier with Pin's efforts. His English skills are very good, and the insight he provided on the various temples and other sites that we visited, as well as on Cambodian history in general, was really interesting. Pin and Tuna were willing to be very flexible with the timing and schedule to suit our needs. Cold water and towels appeared frequently throughout the tour - well appreciated in the hot and humid climate. We do not hesitate to recommend Pin and his company to anyone looking for a tour guide in the Siem Reap/Angkor Wat area.
Our family traveled to Cambodia in December 2019 and enjoyed an AMAZING 2-days with Pin and his driver. They were prompt, professional and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Cold water and cold towels were provided each time we returned to the van, which was spacious, comfortable and well maintained. Pin's command of the English language is exceptional!! Trust me, we spent 3 weeks touring in Asia and encountered many different levels of command of the English language :) Pin took the most beautiful photos of our family - he knows exactly where to stand to capture the sites! Cambodia was our favorite destination during our 3-week travels - I know a lot of this is due to Pin! I highly recommend this tour and when you book - ask for PIN - you won't be disappointed. If you have tweens / teens, Pin goes out of his way to keep them engaged. Our son learned a lot while still having fun!
I booked this tour for my Asia tour and this is my first visit to Cambodia and it is a beautiful country with so much history and to spend 2 days sightseeing visiting amazing and beautiful monuments was so special and touching to see. My tour was on the 5th and 6th January. Mr Rang aka Bullfrog was an amazing guide and made my group feel so welcome and really celebrated his country and gave us an amazing insight into the history of Cambodia and Siem Reap. We visited many temples and religious sites and he was obviously extremely knowledgeable about them and he answered all our questions as we had some much curiosity about each place and wanted to know more. On this tour you see the main sites and other special places. I wish I could have another 2 day tour as there are so many more interesting and special places to see and find out about. You always take a chance when booking something abroad but I must say our guide and our driver, Mr Pin, were very professional, friendly and outgoing and we always felt at ease with them. They accommodated our needs and kept to our pace. It’s always daunting when you book something abroad and you don’t know what you’ll get but the company was always very professional and I got way more than what I expected from the trip. When I come back to Cambodia I would definitely use this company again and I recommend that everyone ask for Bullfrog as your guide for an amazing time.
Perfect!!! I would definitely recommend this tour to all.. thanks, for making our holiday memorable one!!!
We had an incredible tour of Angkor Wat with family and friends. Mr. Touna, our driver, picked us from Phnom Penh and drove us all the way to Siem Reap. He made our journey easy and smooth. Mr. Narith, our tour guide was absolutely fantastic. Our 3 year old son also enjoyed the trip. Thank you once again for a great hospitality.
We just spend the past 1.5 days on a custom itinerary of Angkor Wat. First off, the staff at Angkor Special Tours was extremely helpful in response in helping to setup our itinerary before our arrival. It was a breeze to work with them to customize an itinerary. Our guide was Breeya and he was fantastic. We had an itinerary set but he was flexible based on how much time we wanted to spend at each temple. Mr Breeya was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions about the temples, the town of Siem Reap and customs of Cambodian people. He made sure we saw all the great spots but guided us around to avoid large groups or the typical flow as much as possible. He was a fantastic guide and would happily take another tour with him again. Our driver, Mr Bo, was also excellent. Driving skills excellent, always waiting for us and ready with cold towels and cold water. Also they were always on-time for pick-up in the mornings and for our finish at the end of each day. Overall we had a great experience with Angkor Special Tours, with our guide Mr Breeya and our driver, Mr Bo. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to see Angkor Wat.
We did a 2 day private tour with Mr. Thean as our tour guide. On the first day, Mr Thean had arrived promptly and was waiting at the Hotel Lobby at around 8am. Once we got in touch with him he had taken us to Angkor War as per our tour plan. He had explained to us every minute detail about the temple and was very learned about the history of the temple. We clicked loads of pictures and Mr. Thean's creativity in clicking photos was astonishing. He took good care of us and kept us hydrated all the time with regular short breaks for recovery. However, he was keeping a good timing. At 1 pm he had completed the tour of the temple and we broke for lunch. The restaurant he took us served us good local food and was clean and well decorated. Thereafter we had visited few other temples in the same campus and when Mr. Thean had understood that we were tired. He had took us back to the Hotel for taking rest and we had concluded our day around 3 pm. The next day we had requested for the Angkor Temple sunrise though it was not a part of the initial plan. But, the tour guide was very accommodating. However, when we woke up it had started and we would see the sunrise at the Angkor Was Temple. So we started our next day at 8 am and visited the Kpal Spein. Again, though it was not a part of our tour, when we had orally requested him to show us the 1000 lingas, he was happy to show us, at a small extra cost. We were really happy to visit Kpal Spein. Then we had visited few other temples on the return and on the return we had requested him if he could take us to the floating village, which we had planned to visit on the 3rd day and which was not a part of the tour we booked. However, again without any hesitation they had accommodated us. So then we stopped for lunch at another restaurant which served excellent Khmer food and then he had taken us to the floating village. This Tour Company I should honestly say, completely understand you and keeping you happy seem s to be their primary objective. Thanks to Mr. Thean and his team that we had completed more than what we wanted to see in those two days and we could have an entire third day for shopping and relaxing. I would highly recommend this tour company and if your engaging them, try to get hold of Mr. Thean. Also, do not look for any other tour company and hesitate for any reason to engage Angkor Special Tours. I am sure whatever be your queries, they are very responsive too.
We did a 2 day tour of Angkor starting with the small tour on the first day. On the second day we woke up to see the sunrise then we do the big tour. Our guide, Pal Chen, made these two days a perfect experience : I absolutely recommend him !!!
We booked the tour with Pin Vannak and had Thean as a guide accompanied by "Tuna" the driver. The tour was well paced and allowed us to discover and appreciate the beauty of the place which is quite unique. Thean is very passionate, energetic and his enthusiasm kept us super engaged throughout the whole tour. We all became expert about the different Hindu tales related to each temple as Thean has a fascinating way to tell the stories which kept us always very entertained. Also the amount of things we saw was perfectly balanced in relation to the time available. Would highly recommend them!
We did the Angkor Wat Sunrise tour and it was an absolutely amazing experience! We were a group of 8 and had an amazing time which was mainly down to our tour guide, Pal Chen. He was brilliant, was very knowledgable and open to answering any questions we had on the day. He really thought is a lot about the history of Angkor Wat and Buddishm. Couldn't recommend him highly enough as a tour guide. The sunrise here is an an incredible experience (just an incredible place to witness it). We also got to see monkey in the wild around Angkor Wat which was pretty cool. Top Tips: Bring lots and lots of suncream (Factor 150+ if you're Irish or British) and water! It's a great day but a long day in the sun!
I visited Cambodia 5 years ago with my family and we had Pin Vannak as our tour guide. The experience was of such high quality i chose to use him again to visit Asia in June 2019 but this time with my friend who has never seen Asia before (and who’s hands I definitely trusted Pin). We did Angkor Wat temple at sunrise, before visiting Bayon and Ta Prohm temple (where Tomb raider was filmed). Whilst you may well pay less for a group tour, it is definitely invaluable using Pin for a private one on one tour - he is enthusiastic, friendly, engaging and always smiley, and is highly educated and knowledgable about all the sites. He is always open to questions, and is flexible around you. i wouldn’t recommend anyone else - if you want a quality experience and to get the best out of Siem Reap - Pin is your man.
We had some specific things we wanted to see on our tour of Angkor's temples. When we couldn't find a tour that matched our needs, we requested a custom tour via Pin's website. He set us up with a customized 2-day itinerary with one of his freelance guides, Mr. Chanra. If you want to maximize your temple-viewing time, this tour is a great way to do it as he got us in the right places at the right times to avoid the big groups as much as possible. Itinerary: On the first day, we saw the sunrise at Angkor Wat and visited the temples of Angkor Thom. On the second day, we went out to Beng Mealea, Banteay Srei and Ta Prohm, before finishing the day with the sunset at Pre Rup. Bring: Camera, walking shoes and cash for meals. Cold water and cool wipes are provided throughout the day. Highlights: - Having a private guide to explain the details and history of the temples and answer questions. - Little tips and shortcuts—like knowing the big tour groups go back to their hotels for breakfast after the sunrise or walking over the bridge to Bayon and snapping pictures by the gate while our driver navigated the traffic jam through the entrance—are the things that make the experience better. - Side-excursions—When we wanted to try the sticky rice sold on the roadside, we were able to stop the car and get information about the process. We also stopped at the palm product tourist stands, but were able to go back and see the homes and visit with one of the local families. Could improve: - For lunch the second day, we stopped at a big tourist restaurant near Banteay Srei. When we asked for a more local experience, we ended up at another tourist restaurant near Ta Prohm. The food was fine, but it would have been nice to get away from all the tourists and take advantage of having a Khmer-speaking person to translate at a more local establishment. We overheard another guide tell her group that the tourist restaurants offer free meals to the guides who bring their groups in, which helps explain the choice.
He is a good man and a professional guide, cheerful, smiling but also well organized, everything on time, a very nice man. So I highly recommend it because the prices are also reasonable
My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to be able to do a 2-day tour with Pin Vannak. We had two unforgettable days with him. He tells a lot about the history and buildings in the Angkor area. He can also answer all questions about nature, the history of the country and people's lives. He is very personable, considerate and polite. His joy and enthusiasm is infectious. He also knows the best photo spots. He is a great photographer and patiently takes as many photos and videos as you want. He has very inventive ideas that will make the tour last forever. Everyone should book a tour with him. He is highly recommended and gave us a great time in Siem Reap and Angkor.
I had a great experience, with Chen Pal as a guide and his tuk-tuk driver, from the sunrise at Angkor Wat to the sunset seeing the temples and Loto flowers landscapes nearby. I've seen amazing places and had a lot of fun on the tuk-tuk. Chen Pal is a very good guide, very professional, polite, smiling and friendly. He's highly recommended. (ENGLISH) I had a wonderful experience visiting the temples of Angkor Wat, with the help of Chen Pal as a private guide, together with his tuk-tuk driver. The tour started very early in the morning to see sunrise at Angkor Wat and until sunset, with beautiful scenery, surrounded by lakes with lotus flowers in the area. Chen is a very good guide very professional, polite, smiling and very friendly. Highly recommended (of course, you must know English!!)
I booked a 2 day tour with Chen who proved very kind and prepared. Both the first and second day he guided us through the temples we had agreed on and we visited them so as to avoid the hordes of tourists. Before each visit he provided us with information about each temple. The second day he accompanied us to a fishing village near the Tonle Sap lake allowing us to take a walk (little rainy season) among the stilts as well as the boat ride only. Chen did well with the use of his phone and camera. The only downside: on the first day the tour was interrupted earlier than planned as we were told that the sunset would not be seen.
