Excellent guide we had. Very good English. Knowledgeable about sites. Always offer to take photos. Good shopping tips.
We enjoyed our trip, our guid Sam is very knowledgeable, kind and great photographer, our driver Tha Tha brings us cold towels and drinks each time when we are back to the car because the weather is very hot. We truly appreciate Cambodia through their kindness.
Our two day Private Angor Wat sunrise/sunset tour with John was so amazing! John was very knowledgeable and had good English language skills which made him easy to understand. He customized our tour to meet our needs and gave us an unforgettable experience!
Exceptional local guide with deep knowledge of temples and area. We explored many sites with Sam who explained historical, spiritual, political & cultural relevance. Each day he greeted us punctually at our hotel with a smile; during our tours, he continually provided cold water & chilled towels to keep us hydrated. He was kind and flexible to meet any requests we had.
This is simple: John is the guide you want. We had him for two days. He was very knowledgeable and his English was perfect. John explained things very well, both in terms of giving us a broad view of the temples, their history, and their role as well as providing us the detail we needed. He found an optimal balance. John suggested and took a number of pictures of my wife and I, demonstrating his proficiency at finding the best vantage points and composing photos. After each temple he provided us with cold water and washcloths and then explained our next destination on a map. We did lots of walking and climbing, but it was all well paced. We also found John very knowledgeable when we posed questions, not only about the temples specifically, but about Cambodia more generally. In sum, John took very good care of us and ensured we had a rich two-day experience at the temples Our vehicle was very comfortable and the tour company operated quite efficiently.
We had the most amazing time with Sam and Mr. Sok in Siem Reap! Our two-day exploration of Angkor Wat was truly unforgettable. We also booked an elephant sanctuary visit and a Tonle Lake floating village tour through Siem Reap Guide. Everything was perfectly organized — they always arrived on time, and the service was attentive throughout. It was also very easy to coordinate all the tour details with Sam via WhatsApp. Their driver, Mr. Tha Tha, was simply the best! Cold water, neck towels were promptly delivered after every attraction stop. We truly had the best time. Would not hesitate to book their tours again if we come back for a visit next time!
We only had 2 full days in Siem Reap, so this tour seemed ideal, and it more than exceeded expectations. Sam was our guide for both days and we loved him, which is a relief since we were together all day each day! He was punctual, polite, knowledgeable without being pedantic, and incredibly thoughtful about everything. He always knew when to offer cold waters and very patiently took endless numbers of photos for us :) Maybe the most important of all is that he is clearly very passionate about Cambodia and its history; he must have seen these same sights over 1000x but still seemed to delight in them like it was his first time. All in all, we really enjoyed seeing these magical sights with Sam.
A wonderful tour with a brilliant and friendly guide - Sam. He provided an incredible history and context to this truly huge and amazing site. Sam also gave us great advice for enjoying our trip and knew all of the best vantage points and took great photographs. He could use our cameras features better than we could!! Sam ensured we were at the busy sites ahead of the crowds and he always had a smile. The vehicle used was an extremely comfortable Lexus SUV, and Sam always had a chilled towel and cold water available at the end of each exploration of a temple site. We could not recommend this company more highly, and we will be definitely recommending Sam to our family and friends. We hope to return in the future, and we will absolutely be asking for Sam.
An incredible tour with amazing history and the best sites visited. Our guide, Sam was awesome with perfect English, and a great sense of humour. He also provided us wonderful advice to best enjoy our trip. The vehicle used was an extremely comfortable Lexus SUV, with great air conditioning which was gratefully received at the end of visiting temples. Sam always offered a chilled towel and cold water at the end of each temple tour - so refreshing!! On top of providing brilliant history and information, Sam always timed things so that we were at the busy sites ahead of the crowds. He also knows the best vantage points and is a brilliant photographer - he literally took photos with far greater expertise on our cameras than we have. We hope to return in the future and will absolutely ask for Sam. We will be recommending Sam to all of our family and friends, he is simply brilliant.
We have had a great time with the tour with the great Mr Yanos as our guide. We visited the main temples which was extremely informative on day 1, but day 2 we went off the beaten track a little and visited some sites where there were very few tourists, or we were the only ones. The local knowledge was outstanding and he was extremely obliging with our requests. The tour was tailored to our requirements and we would highly recommend this tour and Mr Yanos to whoever visits Siem Reap!
Thanks to our guide Sam. Our family with 15 and 18 year olds enjoyed our 2 day tour. It was an amazing bucket list trip for me and we were well looked after.
After a satisfying first Angkor tour with Sorphorn, we were guided again by him on a Grand Tour of the temple complexes. Having had a first Small Tour as a basis, we were better able to appreciate Sorphorn's guided tour. We went to see, among other places, another section of Bayon Temple. We were shown Lara Croft's" Tomb Raider Temple" Next, Sorphorn and driver Tata took us to Veal Reach Dak, where we saw a Temple on an island. On the way to see this island temple, we were greeted by beautiful water lilies. Ta Som was an amazing sight to behold. Sorphorn weaved the history of the Pre Angkor, Angkor and Post Angkor amidst these temple structures. During the tour, he also educated us about the Khmer Rouge period in Cambodia. East Mebon Temple was next, where the Elephant Terrace and the Temple of the Leper King. Sorphorn's original plan was to show us more two more sites , including a water fall , but since l was wasn't feeling well by then, we were contented to finish the Grand Tour at Pre Rup Temple to wait for sunset. We are very grateful and pleased to have had Sorphorn to guide us for the two tours. He used his knowledge as a stone conservator as well as his knowledge of archaeology to make our experience a very enriching one.
At the start i want to thanks our guide Sorphorn because it wouldnt be that great tour without him. He is a man of many talents. From the impressive knowledge about history to amazing photograph skills. He is also a sculptor and shared with us the details of his work in the renovation of monuments. What a guy! At the end of the tour he send us lots of historical pictures. Our driver Tha Tha drove us fast and safely through all day. After every temple he was waiting for us with pleasantly cooled car and wonderfully scented cold towels to refresh. He provide us a cold water also. Very kind, always smiling man. Excellent tour, we learned a lot about historical mystical places, hindu and buddist religions and about big Khmers empire also. I highly recommend!!! Hope to see you soon again guys!!!
What an incredible tour! Our guide Sam Pho was fantastic; he gave us the story and context behind everything we visited, and showed us great spots to take photos. Even for the sunrise Ankor Wat, he took us to a spot that was away from the massive crowds, so it was much more enjoyable and just as stunning. My fiance and I are very curious people, and Sam was able to answer every question we threw at him. Next level depth questions about the kings, religions, and history not only of Ankor Wat and surrounding temples, but of Cambodia’s recent history as well. Highly recommend this tour, and Sam specifically!

Sam was recommended to us by a couple weeks met in a bar in Hoi An. I'm really glad we followed up on their suggestion as we had a thoroughly enjoyable and informative two day tour of the temples near Siem Reap. Sam Pho's itinerary covered a fascinating range of temples and started with an amazing experience watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat, the atmosphere was wonderful. At all the places we visited Sam told us so much interesting information about the Hindu and Buddhist deities as well as the kings who built the temples. On a practical note we had great communication in advance of the tour, Sam was on time and drove us in comfort (and a/c!) in his comfortable car. His English is excellent and the ready supply of cold water and ice cold towels really made us comfortable. The two days tour was great value considering the fabulous service we had from Sam. I would hesitate to recommend him.
We took this tour on October 13 & 14/24, our tour guide was Sam. He picked us up @ 5 am & took us to ticket office to buy our 3 day pass. The whole tour was amazing, Sam was great. He had always water & cold towels on hand. It was almost too hot & humid for us, but he took great care of the 4 of us. Highly recommend this tour, we’ve would not know where to start, so thankful Sam was with us.
We just had the pleasure of the outstanding guidance of Mr. Sok Chea for two day Angkor Wat tour. Mr. Sok provided amazing insight into the culture, the history, and the people of Cambodia. He provided incredibly detailed knowledge of Angkor Wat and many of the other temples from artistic and historical perspective. We highly recommend him as your personal guide and we will use him again upon our return. Our driver Mr Tah was safe and careful. He always had ice cold water and icy towels ready for us upon return to the car. (These were a godsend after walking through the ruins in the high heat and humidity!!) We give these two gentlemen our highest recommendation. You will come away with an enriched education, and experience the warmth and kindness of the Cambodian people.
This tour, lead by John, was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. It was my husband and my first visit to Siem Reap and we were charmed. The temples were spectacular and John knew how to plan the visits to the various sites so we had less crowds. He was able to help us understand the Cambodian history, and other fun facts, and spoke very good English. He was prompt at pick up at our hotel. He was both the driver and the guide, so we never had to wait. It was hot, but we always had cold water and towels, and an SUV with good air conditioning. John also was flexible when we needed down time, or a special souvenir. I would highly recommend John and this tour.
We throughly enjoyed our 2 day private Sunrise and Sunset tour with Han. He provided a wealth of information on all the temples and Cambodian culture and his command of English was excellent. We had two fun filled days with his light hearted sense of humor. We added on a trip to the Lake and floating village which was an unforgettable experience. The driver Mister Tata was a responsible driver and provided us with plenty of water and refreshing eucalyptus cooling towels. I would highly recommend this tour. Thank you Han and Mister Tata we are going to miss you and it is an experience we will never forget!
Words can't describe how amazing these temples are, our guide Sam(Sampho Lim)was just as amazing, from picking up to dropping off the knowledge and history he Shared with us was excellent, very passionate about his country and history, I would recommend the services 100% you will learn so much history. Will definitely use again next time we visit, only regret is we didn't spend long enough in Siem Reap
We had two days in Siem Reap only and wanted to see the temples so we booked this trip with our guide Sam. What can I say, it was absolutely amazing, Sam was full of knowledge about everything and we got to see everything we wanted. He picked us up from our hotel and we spent the first long day looking at so many temples including seeing the sunset (weather wasn't great with clouds but it was still amazing) the next day we watched the sunrise over Angkor Wat and wow it was stunning. We went to around 10 temples in those two days including Angkor Wat and Angkor Tom as well as lots of others, I learnt so much from Sam about the ancient buildings and history it was so fascinating. Because we had Sam and our own guide and vehicle it meant we got a personal experience and got to drive from place to place. We were given water and cold towels and also learnt a lot about Cambodia and its wonderful people. We definitely will be back and we definitely will use Sam again, such a friendly gentleman, brilliant English and he is a fountain of knowledge, learning things we definitely wouldn't have learnt if we had done our own thing, he was amazinghelping us take photos to rememberthe day. We have definitely fell in love with Cambodia and would highly recommend anyone visiting to ask for Sam, you won't be disappointed. Awesome few days and can't wait to return!
We had 2 wonderful days with our guide Han, and driver ThaTha. Starting with sunrise at Angkor Wat through many temples Han patiently guided us with plenty of historical insights, and cultural perspectives showing us the best highlights while letting us explore at our own pace. He not only knew his stuff, he knew how to present it to us without overwhelming us. As a bonus, he knew how and where to take wonderful memory photos we would never have discovered. All the while his cheerful demeanor turned 2 packed days into a fun filled adventure. Tha Tha, our ever smiling driver, saved us from exhaustion. Aside from simply getting us from place to place, he managed to park us close to the temples and away from the mud and puddles. Best of all, we knew he would have cold cloths and ice water at the ready when we returned from exploring each temple. Go with these guys you will be glad you did.
Micky Rathana Keo, our guide on the Siem Reap tour in Cambodia, was an absolute gem. From the moment we met him, his beaming smile and unwavering patience put us at ease. Micky's extensive knowledge about the region was truly impressive, and he shared it with enthusiasm and pride. As a group of 40+ heritage enthusiasts from India, we deeply connected with the common heritage we shared with Cambodia, thanks to his enthusiasm. Even the experts in our group couldn't stump him with their trickiest queries, and he answered them all with calmness and confidence. Micky's tales weren't just informative; they were also delivered with a dose of humor that had us chuckling throughout the journey. His cheerful "chalo chalo" still rings in our ears, and we even got him to speak our native tongue, Tamil - "Vaanga Vaanga," which he quickly learned with a smile. Our driver, Sophat, was equally good. His smiling face and the smooth drive made the journey even more pleasant. It was truly a Siem Reap sojourn where smiles met heritage in the most delightful way.
What a wonderful experience! We got lucky. Our guide, Mr. Han made sure we saw every major temple, taught us much, and showed us the majesty and wonder of Angkor Wat, the power of Angkor Thom and the Bayon, and so much more. We highly recommend him to you.
I visited Siem Reap, Cambodia primarily to visit ancient temples. Trip advisor listed this tour with many recent “five star” reviews. Tour guide, Sam, arrived at my hotel on time for our first meeting and day long tour. I was very pleased to meet him since he is mentioned in many five star reviews of the Temple Tour”. Sam walked us through each temple site providing historical detail including time periods, interpretation of carvings and inscriptions, and detail of circumstances that gave rise to construction of each temple. I highly recommend this tour, and if your fortunate Sam will arrive as your guide.
Angkor Wat was a majestic & magical place. One of the grandest temples I’ve seen. Truly a remarkable architecture & engineering. Don’t skip the sunrise tour. Our guide, Mr Han, was an excellent guide. He also knows where the right spots for that memorable pics. I will recommend this tour.
We have 2days wonderful trip in siem reap.. Our guide Mr Han really very knowledgeable about siem reap and every single temple in siem reap.. Very helpful and understanding person handling the tourist and their need..
Our tour guide Sol Chea made the difference between a good experience and an excellent one. His knowledge and professionalism was evident from the beginning of the tour. Sim went of his way to share his knowledge of the Cambodian history and its heritage. We did the two day tour to see as much as possible and take our time to see all the important sites.
Mr. Han is a brilliant tour guide with the knowledge of history and modern day Cambodia that left us with more than simple pictures of old temples. His tales of the past along with sharing stories of his family and personal life give a well rounded experience of Siem Reap, Angkor Wat and too many other temples to name. Amazing sunrise and sunsets as well as a lot of laughs. Oh, and he's an excellent photographer as well! I can't recommend this tour enough. It's well worth it.
We had a private two day tour of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and surrounding temples with Bunhak, guide, and Sophal ("Super"), Tuk-Tuk Driver. Both speak and understand English very well. Bun's detailed knowledge of each of the temples and Hindu mythology was outstanding and made our experience so much richer. Sophal was an exceptional driver and extremely warm and friendly. We hired Sophal as a private driver for other side trips during our stay in Siem Reap. Our experience with these two fine gentlemen made our trip to Angkor Wat all the more special.
We were deciding between 2 or 3 day tours and decided to take 2 day. That was enough IMO, on 3rd day (you get ticket for 3 days) we just visited the small 'Killing Fields' museum nearby and then the biggest temple on our own to walk around and feel the atmosphere. Sorphorn, our guide, did a good job explaining the history of this place. We've got a comfortable van and cool drinking water anytime we need it. We've also got a good recommendations re places to launch and some useful information re other places in the city worth visiting in the evenings. We enjoyed the tour and can recommend it.
If you are looking for a guide that is professional, kind, punctual, reliable, knowledgeable and a fantastic person, Sam is your guide! He was a wonderful resource of information and took his time showing me incredible places. Excellent English. I truly enjoyed my two days touring with him. The driver was extremely careful and never sped. The car was very clean and comfortable. It was a wonderful trip!
Mr Sam Chhoeun was our guide for this 2 day private guided tour. He is personable, speaks good English, friendly and is extremely knowledgeable about Cambodian / local history and culture. In addition, he is a superb photographer and knows all the good spots from which to take fantastic photographs. The restaurants we had lunch at were decent, rather tasty, and reasonably priced. All the bathroom stops on the tour were clean and quite well maintained, which was a bonus. Our driver, Mr Bonyin, was a safe driver, always on time and made sure we stayed hydrated by offering us bottled water throughout the tour. We also used their services for an extra half day tour of the ancient Hindu temples in Siem Reap (not already covered in this 2 day tour), which was very interesting and informative as well. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend these tours to anyone who is interested in Cambodian history and culture. Ask for Mr Sam Chhoeun, you won’t regret it!
The guide Sam Chhoeum was superb. His knowledge of dates and historical events as depicted on the carvings on the temple walls or lintels was impressive. In addition, he knew the best spots for photos at the 12 temples that we visited. He made sure that the restaurants we were taken to provided decent service. The Khmer Village restaurant deserves a mention for tasty cooking which was more than reasonably priced. It was a relief that the toilets we were taken to were clean and maintained. Our driver Mr Bonyin was a careful and safe driver who looked after with regular provision of cold water. I have no hesitation in saying Sam and Mr Bonyin were superb and I would use them again if I visited.
Sam is an excellent guide: knowledgeable, good English, safe driver, nice car, shared a lot about his life and gave us a great tour!! Highly recommended!!
Wonderful, knowledgeable guide. I found Sam on trip advisor based on other recommendations and was extremely happy with his services. His knowledge about the temples, the city, the culture and the country is expansive. He taught us many things about the temples and the history. He picked us up from our hotel and took us on our tours. Always going above and beyond to help in anything we needed. I recommend Sam wholeheartedly.
Our guide, Han and driver Jeat are both wonderful! Han is so knowledgeable, and a fantastic photographer to the boot. Jeat is a safe driver and also speaks hood English. We spent two wonderful days on their Ultimate two-day tour, and covered a range of temples, each with their own distinct character.
Our guide Sorphorn was informative and engaging for our 2 day tour of the temples. We really enjoyed the tour and will recommend these guides to friends and family travelling here.
It was the best decision to do this tour in 2 days, we had enough time to take tons of good pictures (with the help of our guide Han that it seem he is a professional photographer! Thanks a lot Han) Han gave us as well all the information about the temples even when they are amazing by its own, the history about them is wonderful. Thanks as well to Mr Jeat for driving to all places, take care of us giving us water all the time and take care of all our things.
We had the most amazing 2,5 days in the Siem Reqp area with our guide Sam. He was professional, pleasant, knowledgeable, interesting, entertaining, and overall an amazing tour guide (as well as photographer!). He organized the most beautiful excursions for us and kept us and our young children (6 & 9 years old) enthralled by the incredible sites and stories. We left two days ago and my kids are already asking when we can go back and spend more time in Angkor and with Sam! Thanks Sam for the amazing memories that will last a lifetime!
Mr. Bunna was a fantastic guide for our two days of touring the temples at Angkor. The driver that accommanied him was lovely and helpful too! We very much appreciated the air-conditioned van, it is SO hot out there and this is mid-winter! Mr. Bunna knew all of the best places to get photos of the temples and photos of us with the temples. We appreciated all of his knowledge, tips and photo taking for us. They had plenty of water for us kept very cold in their cooler each day. Booking was easy- I just emailed Samuel Pho who allowed me to cater the itinerary more to what we wanted and our flights times. I would highly recommend their services to any traveller in the Angkor area!
Cannot say enough how amazing this two day tour was and it was all thanks to Bunna. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable, taking us all around Siem Reap to various temples and religious sites. He was full of history and facts about each site and had an answer to every question - it is clear he takes his job very seriously and it absolutely MADE our time in Cambodia unforgettable. Can’t thank him enough!!!
We only had two days for this tour and it was a great one to hit the highlights! We got the most out of our time. The tour operator and our guide were very flexible with our itinerary as we wanted to swap days...No problem! Air conditioned car and lots of cold water. Great time, highly recommend this tour especially if you don't have much time in the area!
Thanna Siem Reap Driver And tour guide I highly recommend anyone book Thanna as personal driver in Siem Reap!!! I found this driver from Taiwanese backpacker forum. I prefer to book one single driver instead always randomly bargaining with tuk tuk drivers in the street. We are two female travellers. He was wonderful person, honest, trustworthy, friendly, punctual and most important thing was he was talented to take great photos for me and my friends. He had unique sense to take good photos, you can add his wechat to see his masterpiece. Even though he did not have tour guide license, but he was willing to introduce many things to me. I booked him four days. He had both tuk tuk and car. Looking around city area, i prefer tuk tuk, while looking around Angkor Wat, i prefer car which was double price but i could take rest and enjoy air conditioner in the car. Price: 1day tuk tuk:15usd Angkor Wat small tour: 30usd Angkor Wat big tour:35 usd Contact: You can download wechat mobile app to add him as friend to consult or discuss your travel itinerary with him. Wechat ID:driverthanna Phone no: 0967888895
I am very glad to have signed up for a private guide for 2 days, even though it's just me and my partner. Our guide Sam is very knowledgeable about what we are seeing and also the history of the Khmer people. I asked him many questions and did not find that he was just giving me basic facts. I would recommend Sam.
This was great - did it on 21-22 October. Our guide was Mr Bunna. He was very informative, took us to some great sites and some decent places for food (especially the last restaurant where I had stir fried basil with frog - it also had western options!). Also air conditioned car - and cold bottled water... which is really important in this heat... Definitely recommended.
My wife and I called Sam just a couple of day before our trip in Cambogia, and the day we gone there, Sam had already organized three fantastic days around the city. First day Sam picked us at the airport and starting the first day tour with Bayon temple up to the fantastic fall. Second and third days was dedicated to visit Angkor Wat temples. Sam was friendly, professional ,smart and fun guide together with the driver. He gave us a lot of information about Cambodia that I recommend him to all those want to come in Cambodia. I was forgetting...Sam is an excellent photographer.....so ask him to take lots of pictures!!!!! unforgettable trip!!!! Ciao Sam!!! Enzo&Marta
My wife and I opted for their private tour for two days on van, covering a myriad of temples and sites, as well as the sunrise at Angkor Wat. I am so glad we opted for the van as I had toured the area in the past on mountain bike with a guide in May and it was really too hot and uncomfortable to enjoy and appreciate the sites. While September isn’t as hot as May, there’s a lot of humidity because of the monsoon and opting for the van helped to keep us rested, dry and cool in between each site, which for me made a world of a difference between being uncomfortable and truly being able to focus on the temples and carvings and all of the historical beauty the sites had to offer. We couldn’t have been more lucky to have Bunna as our private guide for two days. Of course he has all the info, historical and archaeological insight of any official guide but on top of this, I was very grateful at how patient he was with us. And very understanding and accommodating. He understood straight away that we weren’t the type of tourists who cared much for the “money shot” type photos to which hordes of people que-ed up for. He would be quick to guide us to a more off-the-beaten track type of area where we could get a similar view and photo of a famous site without being bothered by other people. For the Angkor War sunrise, this was the same, while the vast majority of people scurried to one place, Bunna quickly guided us through the Elephant Gate and to a location that wasn’t overcrowded. Again, while September is in no way high season for Siem Reap, most of the temple sites we visited (outside of Angkor Wat & Angkor Thom) were for the most part empty or lacking any big numbers/groups of other tourists and so we were able to take in the scenes and appreciate everything. A lot of the times it seemed like these big groups were arriving just as my wife and I were leaving. I don’t necessarily know if this was because of pure timing/coincidence or because Bunna had everything well planned, but it was certainly a less stressed visit compared to my last. Even our timing against the sudden monsoon flashes of rain seemed to be planned, as we always had a roof on top of our heads or were on our way out of the sites when the rain pour started. Sam, the owner of the business was also very accommodating, as when we first contacted him, he provided a pretty robust plan with lots and lots to see, but we had told him that we also wanted to relax on this vacation, so just two days covering the main sites/temples would be fine. He was quick to reply and accommodate our wishes by providing us a plan that would cover what could be done in one day, into two days, so that we could take our time and really appreciate each site, but also provide us enough time to relax and enjoy the afternoons/evenings in Siem Reap as well. As I didn’t do so much shopping around for private tour guides, I can’t say whether or not their service is expensive or not. One thing I can say is that I found it very good value for money and we got what we wanted for a reasonable price, I certainly appreciated everything this time more than when I did it on mtn bike in one day. And as Bunna was very accommodating, it was very comfortable to focus on what we were seeing.
