My partner Lewis and I highly recommend this two day tour of Angkor Wat and surrounding temples. The level of knowledge of Campo Chian history shown by our guide Sam was exceptional, as was his punctually and care. We were also amazed by our driver's professionalism and his constant provision of cold bottled water and cold moist flannels. This tour should not be missed. Regards Vikki and Lewis.

Great two day trip to Cambodia, visiting and experiencing all that Siem Reap has to offer. In depth tour of Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple and Ta Prohm. Floating Village and downtown Siem Reap were pleasant surprises.
We had a personal driver and guide for the two day visit. The visit to Angkor Wat was fantastic. The guide, Yuth, was knowledgeable and personable. He went above and beyond expectations and helped us make reservations to attend an activity that wasn’t part of the tour. The driver was attentive and always on time.
Professionals, who provided a memory for a lifetime! Thank you very Vithyea! Great guide and lovely person!
Our tour guide Yuth was phenomenal. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He made the trip as enjoyable as it could have been.
Our guide and driver were punctual, informative and especially kind to travel with. My husband left his cane on the boat tour and they made sure to get it back even though the driver had gone home. Tips, wear sturdy walking shoes, breathable clothing and a towel to wipe away the perspiration unless you’re accustomed to high humidity. Hotel Tara was delightful!
Excellent experience provided a knowledgeable, friendly and organized guide. He thought of everything and took care of us, making the experience highly memorable.
It was an amazing trip. Bunting our tour guide was amazing and informative. I have been to Bangkok many times and always wanted to do this - it’s a long drive there and back, but worth it!! The hotel in Siem Reap was nice and the town was a surprise. The floating village was a real experience and early start at Angkor Wat!! Bunting our tour guide really highlighted the key history, knew where to go for views and photos. The other surprise was the nearby historic city - so much to see. I have seen many old world monuments- Great Wall, Pyramids in Egypt and temples in Mexico - this really is up there as a special place. I travelled with my son and it was a great experience. Just be prepared for the car trip - also, get your Cambodia eVisa and Thai Dtac forms in place!!!
Incredible tour with fantastic clean and roomy hotel in Seam Reap. One of the best continental breakfasts we’ve had. Our tour guide, Yuth, and the Cambodian driver was excellent. Yuth speaks English very well and was very knowledgeable. We went with 3 teenagers and they were engaged the whole time. The driver in Cambodia was very kind and took us to a wonderful restaurant with delicious dishes. He also gave us water in between temples to cool us down. The border transition was very smooth as well. They take a picture of you and msg it to the next person so they can find you. They even have a guy inside the customs to tell you where to go. The total cost for the tourist visa is $30 per person total. There’s NOT an additional $5 for processing fee. The ride to the border is long but the driver stops at rest stops with lots of food you can buy and restrooms. Make sure you have proper Thai currency. Most places in Cambodia take credit cards and they’ll even take Thai currency. If you use Thai currency, they’ll give you back Cambodia Riel. We didn’t want any Riel, so we used a credit card. They may charge a credit card processing fee of a few percent.
The drivers and border assistants were very attentive to our experience. Our Angkor Wat guide Bunrong was very knowledgeable and shared stories and facts on the amazing sites of Angkor Wat and the floating village. He really made this tour the highlight of our trip.
Short of the great pyramids, I can't imagine a more impressive work of ancient engineering. It was awe inspiring. My guide was able to tell me so much about the history, architecture, and symbology. One of the highlight experiences of my life.
Really loved this trip! Everything was really well thought through, from pick up at hotel, escort through both Thailand and Cambodian immigration and passport control to the actual tour itself across the two days. Our tour guide Bun was fantastic and really knowledgeable. We had two kids and he tailored the trip to make sure that they were well engaged and having a lot of fun. Hotel was great - comfortable, friendly and food was good. Cambodian people were so warm and friendly - really made our trip unforgettable. Tips for trip: - get Cambodian eVisa prior to traveling and print two copies. You will need one copy for entry and second for exiting Cambodia. - Bring plenty of USD for spending and tips in Cambodia. - For visit to Angkor Wat, make sure you dress appropriately. All shorts, pants, skirts need to be below the knees and shoulders covered. Kids were fine in shorts.
Great short tour of Cambodia, with Angkor Wat and Tonle Sap. The drivers and tour guide were fantastic, and there was so much to see. Angkor and the other temples were monumental, the free time in Siem Reap was great.
fantastic trip! yes it is a long drive from bangkok to siem reap and back however it gives you the opportunity, particularly in cambodia, to see a lot of the more rural areas. the border crossing is fun and interesting, the lake villages, city of siem reap and of course angkor wat were fantastic! highly recommend especially if you are short on time and want a quick taste of cambodia! my only suggestion is when we make the border crossing back into thailand it is a little hard to find the tour guide on the thailand side. might be better to co-ordinate either a meeting point or have a picture of who to look for. also make sure you have internet - makes things easier!
Overall my trip was fantastic. I’m not sure where to start. My tour guide Bunrong was a phenomenal guide. With decades of guide experience, he was able to take me to a lot of the spots most tourists seem to miss out on. His English was also the best of any foreign tour guide I’ve experienced. He was also great at asking if I was comfortable with the current activity throughout the 2 days we were together. I always had water available to me because of him as well. When I go back, I will definitely be requesting Bunrong again.
This was perfect for us. Seeing the countryside and the stops were great for us. Don't expect a tour through the countryside the drivers speak little English. The hand off through the border was good. There are several people to guide you from one side to the other. They take your picture so each of them recognize you back and forth. There are signs also. We got our Cambodian visa ahead of time. Do not worry, the hotel was very very nice and the food was very good there. We waited to eat until we got to the Hotel. We had a couple hours before we went on the afternoon tour at the Lake. The tour guide was very informative and perfect for us for both tours and went at the speed we like (quick). The next day they picked us up at the early time we wanted 7. Would have picked us up earlier or later. Angkor Wat was an amazing tour and was even better than we read it was. We did this tour before we boarded a cruise ship. We waited to eat a late lunch on the cruise ship. The cruise company offered a pre extension 3 day tour which included Angkor Wat. The charge would have been $2999 each. After speaking with those who chose that option we saw much more in Bangkok and Siam Reap/Angor Wat than they did with our private tours. We spent about $1800 total for both of us from when we landed in Bangkok to arrival at our ship.
Angkor Wat is an incredible place to visit. The beautiful temples are a sight to behold. Consider yourself very lucky if you manage to end up with Pal Saruon and Sarun Mot as your tour guide and transport while on this trip. These guys met me promptly and were very punctual and knowledgeable about all things related to the temple site. I highly recommend you travel and view this site with these guys, they are the best!
I have seen many temples and floating villages/markets but I must say that this was by far the most scenic and interesting of them all. Our guide, Mr. Bunrong, was attentive to us and ensured that all our questions were answered. His knowledge and history of the people of Angkor Wat and how they lived and the years of transformation between the Hindu and Buddhist temple were credulous. His stories made the temple and people come to life. He took the time to point out other things that aren’t necessarily apparent to the average tourist making the trip that much more special. The information he shared about the floating village allowed us to see up close and personal the local villagers fishing using the nets; we immersed ourselves in their culture. As an outsider looking in, we don’t always get the opportunities that Mr. Bunrong, shared with us. I would love to do this trip again but next time make it 3-4 days as I know there was so much more Mr. Bunrong would have showed us. We can’t thank him and our driver enough for ensuring that we got everything we could possibly see in the short amount of time we were here. Mr. Bunrong didn’t just finish his job when we said goodbye, he also wanted to make sure that once we reached our hotel, to let him know. Our safety was always first and foremost with him. The crossing at the border was a bit different. Our driver dropped us off and we had another young man take us to the Thailand Border Crossing point to get our exit stamp. While in there, another gentleman came in and said he would take us to the Cambodia immigration border checkpoint. We got our stamp, walked out the door where our fellow was there. He told us to go to the first floor. We had to have our visas plus we had to fill out another little form that went with our visa paperwork and passport. Make sure to print two copies of the visa…one for entering and one when you leave. Also keep the little form that you fill out as you will turn that back in on your exit. Once through customs, another person was there that took us to our car. The same thing happens when you leave Cambodia. However, we had to walk (about 200 meters) to where they had dropped us off on the Thailand side as our person wasn’t exactly waiting for us. That was a little nerve racking only because it was getting dark and we did not know who we were looking for. But once we found each other, the ride home was smooth sailing. I would definitely recommend taking this tour again and if you can afford the time, take the extra days to visit as it would be well worth it. That is my only regret ….not having extra days to explore this interesting country.
This is traveling with no stress and allowing you to totally enjoy the experience. This is an absolute must do! Picked up from the hotel and the rest was all done for us! Amazing drivers and the tour guide was so knowledgeable and fantastic! There is no better way to visit Angkor Wat and other places included in the tour at a better cost or travel plan. I would do this trip again and again! The four star hotel with free delicious breakfast was unbelievable and had everything walkable or you can take a tuk tuk very easily and cheaply. Great shopping and food. Could not recommend this trip more!
Everything was on time. We got clear instructions. The team contacted us via WhatsApp. We got the plate number and a photo of the car that was waiting for us at our Bangkok hotel entrance. The drivers took a photo from us when they picked us up and sent it to the agency. We read all reviews beforehand, so we bought Cambodian e-visa before our arrival and printed 2 copies as it was recommended. E-arrival form though only works for the 3 main airports' entry (as of March 2025). So we had to fill that in at the border. But it was pretty quick. At the border a Viator colleague was waiting for us, accompanied us to passport control and then picked up us again on the other side of the border. Then same person, same process on the way back. None of the drivers spoke English, but they understood basic things, such as toilet break... And they provided cold bottled water for us. We travelled with an infant (19 months old), but they had no baby seat option. That was not the best, but we managed it. On the way back we went to Pattaya directly as it was our next step in the itinerary. So pick-up, drop-off can differ. The official English guide was nice and knowledgeable. We learnt a lot from him about khmer history, culture, Angkor itself, the floating village, etc. While the drive itself was long, it was not longer than taking a plane overall, but was more convenient. No security check, you can bring whatever you want and being able to see the countryside of Cambodia and Thailand is itself an experience.
Bunrong was an incredible guide. He shared so many wonderful stories about the rich history of Cambodia during our 1:1 tour. He and the team (drivers in both Cambodia and Thailand) took great care to make sure I had a wonderful trip! I not only learned a lot about Siem Reap but also Bun’s family and the real struggles of the people of Cambodia. If you are considering a trip to visit Angkor Watt, I strongly recommend this tour and especially Bun as your private guide!
Amazing 2 days experience from Bangkok to Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Everything was very well organised.
Great experience! Everything was arranged. The tour is a bit pricey but it is an exclusive tour. Me and my friend were picked-up from hotel in a private SUV car, until we reached Poi Pet border. Then by foot we were transferred to both borders. On the Cambodian side we were picked-up by another private car. All stay in Cambodia was covered with that private SUV car and driver. Except from the guy who was around at the border and the guide in Cambodia, the rest of them don't know much english, so we had some hours when we didn't know precisely what was next, a more detailed itinerary for the tour would have been useful. In the tour description there is a misleading mention of the sunrise at Angkor Wat, but in the details it is not mentioned anymore. Reality: it is a day tour, not a sunrise one. The hotel was great, all prices are in dollars there.
My wife and I traveled to Thailand in September of 2024. We purchased our 2-day excursion through Tripadvisor. We were picked up by a driver from our hotel in Bangkok at 6 am, and we drove for 5 or 6 hours until we got to the Thai-Cambodia border. Here, it was a bit tricky since our driver did not speak English, but we were warned that another team would guide us to the border crossing customs, and this is what happened. My wife and I paid around $30 to have our visas issued, and we went through 2 control points (exiting Thailand and then entering Cambodia). Please be warned that you would need to carry your own language and travel light. After entering Cambodia, the receiving team met us, and we were directed to the van of our driver/guide, Vithyea. It was already nearly 1 pm, and we stopped at the local restaurant after an hour's drive for lunch. We loved the local dishes! Then, we continued our drive towards Siem Riep. After another hour or 90 minutes, we arrived at a big body of water - Tonlé Sap. We really enjoyed our boat tour on that lake in the dusk hours, observing the floating village and visiting a floating observation desk/tourist information station/alligator farm. We checked into our hotel and walked into Siem Reap at night to have dinner at one of the restaurants. The atmosphere in the town was very festive. The walk to the restaurant area and back to our hotel along the canals was very interesting and romantic - many couples were sitting near the canal, and many families were meeting, having dinners, and enjoying the evening. We agreed with Vithyea to pick us up at 5 am the next morning, and he was promptly there. We drove to Angkor Wat and were there by 6 am to meet the sunrise. Vitheya was very informative and gave us plenty of information on history, culture, religion, traditions, architecture, and future hopes for Cambodia and its people. He guided us through Angkor Wat, showcased interesting features, and told us where the best views would be. It was an incredible experience to see the temple from its highest tower (a steep climb). We returned to our hotel by 9 am to have a shower, get breakfast, and check out. Then Vitheya brought us to two other breathtaking temples - Ta Prohm Temple where "Tomb Raider" with Angelina Jolie was filmed - a temple covered with moss and trees growing between the stones of the walls and pavements and then we visited Bayon Temple with many faces of Brahma (or Bodhisattva) on the tops of the temple structures. By 4 pm (after lunch in a local restaurant), Vitheya delivered us to the border crossing and then another driver (after a long wait - it was the only hickup of the whole trip) drove us back to Bangkok. It was an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Vitheya.
First time coming to Cambodia. Mr. Sava was introduced as our guide and off we were to a floating village. I could the village quite interesting seeing how these locals adapt to this environment. Once back from the trip Mr Sava suggested that we go to a local hotel/restaurant where they’ll be having a celebration of local culture in dance along with a buffet of local food. I was so pleased he made this suggestion. We went and enjoyed ourselves immensely. the next morning we were up at 4:45 so we could catch the sunrise. Mr. Sava made sure we were at the right angle every five minutes for the best photos his attention to detail was impressive. His knowledge was impressive as we visited three different temples and one day I would highly suggest him in the future to anybody in these wonderful Cambodian sites. Travel wise can do no better than Mr Sava. Thank you
A fantastic stress free experience. The ride picked us up on time at 6:30am as agreed. The car & driver to the border was excellent. We were met at the border and escorted thru customs. We did not have Visas to the guide helped us fill in the forms. It was very simple as we had great help. We were met by the driver on the other side who took us to the hotel. He was also excellent and very safe. The hotel was great. We were then met by BUNRONG, our tour guide who was fantastic. He is very knowledgeable about the Cambodian history and attractions. He gave us the two day guide that we thoroughly enjoyed. A big THANKYOU to him for being one of our best guides. The return journey went fine. A tip for the organisers. Make it clear who is picking up once back in Thailand and where to meet. After a quick call it was all sorted. VERY HIGHLY recommended. Will go back again.
It was an amazing time in Cambodia but this tour had so many ups and downs. Starting from the length of travel time, it was advertised as 4 hours but it was actually 4 hours from Bangkok to the border and then at least an hour and half to get through the immigration and another 3 hour drive from the border to Siem Reap. So it’s an all day travel in the van. Then the hotel pick up, our driver didn’t fill the van with gas despite knowing that we have a long drive to get to the border. So we ran out of gas and wasted 1 hour troubleshooting this situation. The tour operator wasn’t really helpful but just kept saying “we can’t do anything about it”. I understand things happen sometimes that’s out of our control but this clearly could have been prevented. There were no clear instructions or agenda of how this tour was gonna go or how do we cross the border and what not. It was quite sketchy at first just getting on the van and getting your photos taken and then getting off the van, meeting a new person to assist you get to the border and each time getting photos taken. It makes sense to do it that way but a heads up would have been nice so we know what’s going on. Don’t be discouraged of what you see at the border. Our time in Cambodia was amazing. From the driver at the border, our hotel and our tour guide. All of them were great. We didn’t run out of gas during our 3 hour drive. The van ride was comfortable. We stayed at Tara Angkor Hotel. It’s an older hotel but beautiful nonetheless. Our tour guide Mr. Bun was great! He’s very knowledgeable and educated about the things he talked about. Not just about our tour but everything about Cambodia. It’s so far the best temples we’ve seen and the most informative tour we’ve been on. After getting dropped off at the Cambodia border, it was seamless until we got to the Thailand side again. The person that’s supposed to meet us wasn’t there so we had to call the operator and figure out what’s going on. After finally finding them, our ride to Bangkok was rough. Though we didn’t run out of gas, the driver was a rough driver with no regard to his passengers. The 4 hour supposed drive turned 6 hours because he took unnecessary shortcuts that aren’t even shortcuts, only for us to find out that the tour operator gave him the wrong address to our hotel. It was a private tour so we didn’t understand the confusion in the address. The tour wasn’t cheap at all so we expected an even better service. But we didn’t get any of that from the tour operator and the Thailand side of things. It was horrible. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars was because of how great our experience was in Cambodia.
This tour was well organised. Our guide for the time in Siem Reap - Bunrong - was exceptional. He has so much knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for what he talking about. The only thing that I could fault is there was no one on the Thai side of the border to greet us as promised. We found the person in the end after 30 mins and a few phone calls. This should not detract from the rest of the tour which went smoothly.
Our 2-day Angkor Wat tour from Bangkok was an unforgettable experience! Our guide, Bum, was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and made the trip so much fun. We were able to see so many incredible sights in just two days, from the breathtaking Angkor Wat to the intricate temples of Bayon and Ta Prohm. Bum kept everything well-organized, ensuring we made the most of our time while still enjoying the journey. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore Angkor Wat from Bangkok!
We trip was excellent. All the steps of the trip were perfectly organised. Mr Bunrong is the best guide I ever met. His knowledge of the sights and history was really impressive and he was very punctual - without pressuring us. Above all his company was truly pleasent and I would strongly recommend him as your tour guide.
The tour was an amazing experience! I had no idea about the Floating Village before the trip or much about the other temples. T and our driver were excellent in communication, knowledge and friendliness. I was blown away by everything and really enjoyed our free night in Siem Reap and the pub area. I had no idea how awesome the nightlife was. Mr.T made sure we got where we needed to be knew the best way through the temples and knew the best picture spots where he took some great pictures of my wife and I. As soon as we got over the border we were we picked up by Hang the driver who is just a naturally warm and friendly guy. Most places take card but best to have some US cash. The ATMs do dispense it however. Also recommend going ahead and getting your Visa.

We were blown away by the sites we saw. Mr T is an amazing guide. He pointed out the history of the temples, highlighting the important sites that we would not have seen in the short span of time we’re here. Worth every penny. Bucketlist check. The best are the pictures he took so we can look back reminiscing this trip! Well organized tour, from the minute we got picked up from Bangkok, to someone meeting us at the Poipet Border. We stayed at Tara Angkor Hotel and love it. The breakfast buffet are to die for!!! The drivers made us feel safe. Cambodians are very friendly. Great tour value for the price. You’ve done it again Viator!!! Again THANK YOU MR T FOR MAKING THIS VACATION A TRIP OF A LIFETIME! A+++++ experience
The tour is great if you‘re short of time. Angkor Wat is amazing (and with the private Driver you can skip walking everywhere as the whole temple complex is really big)! The drive is quite long and you need to walk the border to Cambodia. Communication with the operator was good, we got the information for our e-Visa and we were able to adjust the tour to our needs.
Angkor wat is a spectacle to behold! I am so happy our tour guide, Bunrong Neng, offered an option for a sunrise viewing which we gladly accepted. He was very knowledgeable, good at relaying stories and information about the areas we visited, amiable and good natured. Our visit to the floating city with Bunrong was also very informative and filled with unexpected treasures along the way. Unfortunately our driver was over an hour late in Bangkok and was also an awful communicator and bad driver. Thank goodness our connection at the Cambodia border and driver for our time we were in Cambodia were smooth, efficient and safe. The accommodations in Siem Reap at the Tara Angkor hotel were outstanding. I cannot say enough good things about our tour guide Bunrong. He certainly made our trip one of the most memorable experiences of my life, and I have traveled extensively.
Our guide Dunrong was a top notch guide, with humor, knowledge, kindness, efficiency and more! We boarded the long tail boat for the floating village on the afternoon of Day 1, after successfully transportation from Bangkok to the border; and then from the border to Siem Reap. We watched a magnificent sunset and saw wild life, then returned to our hotel timely. The next morning our guide Bunrong got us to Angkor Wat timely with recommendations for the best place to view the sun rising over the temple. We finished in enough time to see everything and get back to our Bangkok hotel before 8 PM. He pointed out the rice fields and lotus fields; and taught us much about Cambodia and the ways there.
I will start with the one and only negative thing about this tour which was bad communication prior to trip. I messaged tour provider the day before asking for details but they said they would message me later which they never did. Morning of the tour 06:30 noone was there to pick us up, after calling them , they said there had been a delay, taxi arrived at 07:25.. after we were picked up by Thai driver everything was PERFECT! We were handed over to lots of different people to help us cross the border so no problem there at all, was very easy so don't worry.Whole tour was completely private , transfers just for your booking, when you arrive to Cambodia you have your own tour guide and driver. Hotel was good with amazing breakfast! Floating village was amazing but Angkor wat was mind blowing, lifetime experience. They give you cold water throughout the tour which helped a lot in the heat. Our your guide Nimol was INCREDIBLE, very sweet guy, knowledgeable and very keen to answer all of our questions and share Cambodia's history. If you are in Bangkok and have a couple of days to spare, don't even think about it, tour is amazing and totally 100% worth it. To the tour company: your staff is fantastic, made the trip unique, hope they get paid what they deserve! Also a quick email beforehand to explain what's going to happen would be super helpful so people don't rely on reviews.
We had a great few days in Siem Reap, our guide Mr T and the driver John were on time, very accommodating (cold drinks and refreshing towels). Our guide was very knowledgeable and proud to share the sights with us. Thank you, would recommend them both.
We wanted to see Angkor Wat while visiting Thailand though didn’t have much time. This trip was exactly what we needed to make it work. We have a large van for family of family of 5 which was way more than needed though made the trip much more comfortable. The land crossing into Cambodia was a tad chaotic, though, the tour group made the process easier and walked us through each step. The amount of time spent at Angkor Wat was perfect, getting to see the main sites. Tour guides, drivers and help at the border were all great. The hotel was very nice with a great Buffett breakfast. Fully recommended
We have experienced a really great trip. Our guide - Mr. Thy did an excellent job showing us the temples in a very interesting way. He shows us great places for great photos. He is very involved. Generally, hotel perfect, hosting at the Cambodian side was super. The only minus was a transport from Bangkok to the border - low quality of the car, but drivers very kind :-)
It was really great experience. Guide was full of energy and great knowledge. He was helpful and he takes a really great pictures pointing the best photo spots.
Amazing visit. Perfectly organized, profesional guide with deep historiach background. Fantastic drivera.
Mr T very good tour , very cool speak faster. OK Mr. T was a very good guide really enjoyed the tour. I would recommend him to anyone and very personalized and I got to see a lot of things in the good description of the history and the dates and I got to go in all the places that I want to go Ty I would recommend them very highly
I can tell it was one of the best trips in my life! Everything was organized so perfectly! We read previous reviews and were ready for anything at the border, as for a lot of people it was confusing.. But we had full support on each of the steps of our journey, there was a person at the border who helped us with everything and even filled our documents for visa. Overall ~15 min to cross 2 borders. All the cars were comfortable, hotel was amazing!! We have a huge desire to come back to Cambodia once again! Next time not only for 2 days, as there are a lot of things to do!
First of all my guide Yuth was fantastic. Knowledgeable, friendly, flexible and helpful, passionate about the history of the region, the sites we visited, and the language. Very good English. Big THANK YOU. All sites are just stunning and must see but I guess you know that looking at this tour. It is a bit pricey but if you are limited to 2 days like I was, then it's your best option as flying and arranging things yourself is likely to be very difficult to fit into 2 days. Lastly, communication and info provided by the operator. They tell you who the driver is and send a picture so meeting in the morning is no problem. However, this is their standard and only info and do not expect them to answer any questions. You are then left largely on your own and although things WILL work out some more upfront info would have been very helpful. Here are some tips: - Let them know your WhatsApp nr as that way you'll have direct contact, and you might need it. Make sure they do get in touch over WhatsApp before the trip (this is how they will provide driver details) - Best get an eVisa to Cambodia before travelling, that will speed things up at the border. Apply at least a week in advance. Print out TWO COPIES as they will need one entering Cambodia and one leaving (they won't tell you that but you must have two!!) - Take USDs in cash to avoid extortionate xcg rates. You can pay EVERYWHERE in USD, prices are given in both Riel and USD, so don't bother exchanging to Riel. If they give you change in Riel try to spend it as it is useless outside of Cambodia. Oh and take GOOD NOTES I.e. not torn or stained as they may sometimes refuse to take those. - The driver in Thailand does not speak English but you can ask him questions using e.g. Google Translator, that works. He will take a picture of you and at the border hand you over to a person who will run you to Thai passport control. Alsio, REMEMBER THE DROPOFF POINT, you will need that on the way back. That's how they make sure you are handed over correctly by taking your picture and sending it to the next person who is supposed to find you. - From there you go through Thai control, then keep walking through no man's land to Cambodian passport control, which you will see marked as Arrivals up steep stairs to the right. You won't miss it. There fill in the arrival card, as hotel put in only Siem Reap (or any random hotel there) as they won't tell you upfront which one it is. Get a visa there if you don't have one yet (30 USD) and walk through passport control. That's all in the same room so you won't get lost. Then walk out downstairs. - a person (Mr Aun) will identify you by your picture and take you to your Cambodian driver. Don't leave the border control building until he does, he will be looking for you. - The driver will then take you to your hotel. There you will usually have 1-2h free time and at 3.30 or 4pm your guide will meet you in the lobby and take you from there. They will WhatsApp you the meeting time. - On the way back the process with pictures repeats. HOWEVER in my case noone met me on the Thai side when I walked out. I called them on WhatsApp and was told to walk ahead to the previous drop-off point, which is maybe 200m straight ahead. It's by a mall(?) called Star Plaza, see my pics. There are several companies arranging private transport there, look for Rawee (see pics), guys with green shirts. They will have your picture and arrange a driver back to Bangkok. Hope that helps, and I don't know why the travel company doesn't just send you all these details upfront, instead leaving you confused about what's happening. Bit don't worry they will get you through. Just make sure you do have them connected via WhatsApp in case you need to call them for help.
One of the highlights of my vacation, Angkor Wat is epic, not just in it's beauty but in it's history. Our guide Bunrong (I recommend asking fir him, I heard the other guides, he was far more informative). Bunrong shared so much I had to video his stories. The walls share so many stories, the story of Siam Reap is one to share fir sure. The floating market had the most incredible sunset, and the crocodile was very tasty, don't be afraid to try.
This is an absolute must, if you get the pleasure of getting Bunrong as you're guide you are very fortunate, I would recommend asking for him. He has so much knowledge and shares so much of the rich history of not just Angkor Wat, but of the Cambodian people. This was a highlight of my South East Asia tour, I am so glad I was able to do this. On the first day we went to the floating market, and had Crocodile, I encourage everyone to try it, it was quite delicious and the sunset from there was incredible, one of the most beautiful you will ever see
This was an absolutely perfect tour!! The tour guide for Angkor Wat name is Bunrong we suggested you request him while taking this tour. We loved his knowledge and experience. He was very accommodating and had a wonderful personality. Any trip with Bunrong will be worth your while. Also our driver was amazing he always made sure to give us cold water when returning to the vehicle and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was definitely the person you want to travel with. This tour is highly recommended!!!!! The hotel in Cambodia has a spa and does massage until 10 pm so after a full day of travel it is refreshing to start the next day off relaxed.
We had a great time touring Tonle Sap and Angor Wat. If you’re looking for an interesting and exciting experience, try this one! The hotel was nice and our tour guides were extremely knowledgeable.
Great adventure from beginning to end. We saw much on the journey there. The guide was fantastic. The Angor Wat complex is more amazing than I ever thought. The side trip to the lake was an eye opener.
