Nice way to learn a bit about Sicilian wines and food if you have limited time. Wine waiter was very helpful.

Great experience - nice selection of 5 wines with complementing food - all very good. Would have been nice to have found out a bit more about the wines - host told you a little about the wine then disappeared to serve in the wine bar.

Small wine shop down a side street in Palermo. Very busy with limited seating, but they reserved a table for 8 of us participating in a wine tasting with pairings. Margherita was our server for the night and although she spoke softly, provided great information about the 5 wines that she poured (sparking, white, rose, red, and dessert all from Sicily). They paired every tasting with fabulous local Sicilian food. Excellent tasting, exceptional wines, and delicious food. Absolutely worth the cost and the time (2 hours). Highly recommend both Bottega and Margherita! 5-stars!

A few hour experience Loads of knowledge about wines of Sicily Some of the best wine we have tried, happy to offer more wine. Lots of fun. Great value for money. There was food paired with every single wine and we left feeling drunk and full! The tasting was on tables on the street so the customers of the wine bar were also around which made for a great atmosphere.

A fabulous couple of hours in the evening tasting a variety of wines from white through to red and a desert wine, each paired with an assortment of foods, the hosts discussed each wine in detail including the grapes, notes and location of growth on the island, very knowledgeable and welcoming hosts, a must if you love wine, or just want to meet new people! Final tip: don’t dine out before going as the food pairing is plentiful. Highly recommended.

The restaurant provided a very knowledgeable wine person to take care of us for the evening. I think he also was the chef for all of the great Polar Mo food pairings that we enjoyed. It was a great time. We met lots of new friends and would certainly recommend this experience to others.

Wanted to experience Sicilian wines and found this on the Internet. What a find. Fabulous experience. We were with another family who were great company and had a really lovely evening talking, laughing and enjoying this wonderful wine bar. The 5 wines presented were paired with lovely food and plenty of it. We enjoyed it so much we stayed and had some more wine!!!!! An excellent evening, sat around a table with a wide variety of travellers, all of whom got on well. The wines were excellent, the pours generous and the food a good accompaniment. Our host, Giuseppe, was first class. Excellent English, good knowledge and prepared to answer questions. Highly recommend.

Went to the group wine tasting on our second night in Palermo sat with great people hen do from Austria and a couple from norway and the wine tasting was very good and informative unfortunately for us there was an Irish man who clearly did not like us (English) and constantly abused us. The venue allowed this i believed he had something to do with the bar but when I asked at the end of the night was told he was just a client. Tainted our experience.

Four of us scheduled a wine tasting prior to our Rick Steves tour. We requested all reds. Josepi provided an excellent introduction into the four main varietals, the regions and the differing characteristics. He paired them separately with pastas, meats and cheeses. At the conclusion he shared a red desert wine. This was an excellent introduction into wines we were not familiar with and helped with our choices over the following 11 days. We all fell in love with Sicilian wines and their price points.

A lovely afternoon spent tasting 5 different Sicilian wines. We were there as couple and joined 4 others for a group tasting. Each wine was served with a local delicacy. Giuseppe our host was very knowledgeable about the wines and offered very interesting information about each one. An enjoyable experience in good company.

My husband and I joined a group of 7 other travelers at an attractive outdoor table for the tasting. The wine and food were very good. Five different wines were presented with excellent small plates of food. But our server gave all his attention to a group at the far end of the table. He spoke with them and gave them extra pours. We could not hear what he was saying about the wine. A lovely pair of Swedish ladies sat across from me and my husband. The four of us, at our end of the table, felt excluded. The experience lasted too long. There were long periods of time between the five tastings of wine. Altogether, we were there for three hours.

Enjoyed the group and servers. The wine and food pairing was nice. Enjoyed the evening. Stayed after to enjoy and visit with the group of folks we met! It is a great way to be introduced to Sicilian wines and food. Highly recommend.

We loved this experience. Wine was amazing, the food was amazing, the host was super amazing. Highly recommend this wine tasting. Cosy little bar just off a busy road, wonderful.

We arrived early and Katarina medicine upon arrival. She was so lovely and definitely knows her stuff about wine and food and the Sicilian area. She also had some lovely humor. The wines we tried were excellent, and I walked away with a nice bottle of Amarone, which I will enjoy when I get home. The food was light and really enjoyable. Both Katarina and her husband‘s company was awesome and I highly recommend this experience.

The biggest issue was finding the place! The offering of wines matched with tap was was very good and our host very informative about the provenance of the wines and food. We enjoyed all the white wines, but the red was a little bit of a let down because, as with many places in Italy, it was served chilled, which is not how we enjoy it.

This tasting was one of the best I’ve experienced. It went above and beyond our expectations. It consisted of 5 wines (full glasses) which were each paired with a delicious plate that really complimented the wine (pasta salad, fish bruschetta, cheeses, meats, and even sweets at the end). They were very accommodating with food preferences/allergies and provided substitutes. The portion sizes were extremely generous with both food and wine which we were not expecting. It was not rushed and the descriptions and history behind each wine was fascinating. Highly recommend!

We booked a wine tasting as two couples prior to arriving in Palermo. As well as providing a great background explanation to impressive Sicilian wines, each one was accompanied by a local dish, which in the round constituted, a most pleasant light lunch that perfectly complemented the wine. The young lady (sorry, but we forgot to ask her name!) was friendly, knowledgeable and made the occasion a memorable one.

We booked a private wine tasting and we loved it. We arrived an hour later than our reservation, which was a genuine mistake and they couldn’t have been friendlier. They gave us a table no problem. Our wines were delicious and we enjoyed the snacks. Uri explained the wines to us and he did an excellent job in English. We really enjoyed it.

This wine tasting was so fun! The staff was so kind, the wine was great and the snacks were also really good. My husband and I both think this was our favorite thing we’ve done in Palermo.

We had a great time discovering Sicilian wines and appetizers, met a nice couple from Amsterdam and enjoyed a bittle of wine with them after the tasting.

The wine tasting includes proseco, white, red and desert wine. We have substituted the dessert wine with another red, the shop owner is flexible in accommodating our request. The snacks accompanied with the wines are yummy and abundant. We all have a great time there.

If you like to drink wine and want to try a variety of good Sicilian ones - don’t look any further. Do yourself a favour and book this wine tasting! Our friendly waitress introduced each of the 5 wines with interesting facts while the bar team dished out delicious food so you won’t need dinner afterwards. The nice wines, the casual atmosphere, the great company of my fellow tasters- it was definitively a memorable evening which lasted longer than the time indicated as we took it leisurely.
