Tradizional Cooking Class-arenella Experience

Welcomed into Teresa’s home for a wonderful authentic Sicilian cooking class. Best cooking class I have ever done and I always do one in whichever country I visit. Delicious food, quality ingredients, hands on and Teresa was lovely and very patient! We made pasta two ways including fresh tuna, ricotta appetiser and caponata side. Almond cream tiramisu for dessert. Catered to our requests and allergies! Couldn’t recommend this class enough! Thank you!

Theresa was a great host and instructor. We made delicious pesto and pasta , cannoli and eggplant dish. She was very friendly and her home was clean. We had a lot of family and I do recommend for a family. We would have liked if each of us had a chance to do all steps. She had each of us do different parts with the exception of the pasta shaping and cannoli tube. The eggplant slices had already been made prior to our lesson. We did love the final product and did receive the recipes

One of the absolute highlights of our trip to Sicily! Teresa was so generous and loved sharing her tips and background knowledge. She is such a talented cook! We took the class at her beautiful summer home, and it was incredible. Can't wait to make more fresh pasta at home!

We had such a wonderful cooking class in Ortigia with Teresa. She was incredibly accommodating and made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. We cooked so much delicious food - including making fresh pasta from scratch, and everything turned out amazing. The class took place in Maria’s home, which made it feel really authentic and gave us great insight into how we could actually recreate the meals ourselves at home. A fantastic experience from start to finish - highly recommend!

Teresa hosted us in her home to learn recipes from her Mother. We made three types of pasta and sauces. She taught us skills we hadn’t done before and made it easy to learn. And then we ate…..all wonderful! I do recommend her class.

Our family had an amazing time cooking with Teresa in her garden. She is the Sicilian mother you wish you had for cooking. So much was done by her experience- eyeballing the amounts, tasting, adjusting. She included all 4 of us in the process with jobs for each, even our 7 year old got to help. We enjoyed the food we made then tried her homemade limoncello and all danced together in the garden afterwards. A great enriching experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Sicily! A true gem.

We had a highly enjoyable and informative experience with Teresa! Not only did we learn how to create a few of her recipes, we also were able to learn more about Sicilian culture. With Teresa's guidance, we created a beautiful 3/4 course menu that we were able to feast on. Teresa also supplied us with a pack of her family recipes so that we could bring the Sicilian culinary magic back home with us. What a wonderful morning we had cooking with Teresa! Even though I cook Italian at home, I learned so much from her about ingredients & cooking techniques. This is a terrific class for both non-cooks & experienced ones. Our reward was sitting down on the patio eating the dishes we cooked. It was a sumptuous meal with high quality, fresh ingredients and believe me - you won’t walk away hungry! At the end, she shared her recipes for us to take home. Highly recommend her class!

Teresa provided us such a wonderful experience cooking a traditional Sicilian meal! She not only provided great, easy direction, but told us about some sites we could view in Siracusa during our stay. We made an incredible pesto pasta paired with stuffed Zucchini and it was one of the best meals of the trip. not only that but she was made it very easy to communicate with beforehand to make sure we arrived at the right place! Would recommend this to any friend going traveling to Siracusa!

Highlight of Our Trip – And We’re Still Full! If you're looking for an authentic, hands-on Sicilian cooking experience—and don't mind leaving with a full belly and a heart even fuller—this class is for you. We made two types of handmade pasta (yes, our arms got a workout), a mouthwatering parmigiana, and a classic dessert that may or may not have made us consider moving to Sicily permanently. Our teacher, Terese, was an absolute gem: warm, hilarious, and clearly passionate about food and sharing her culture. She had the kind of culinary wisdom that can only come from a lifetime in the kitchen—and the patience of a saint (especially when watching us try to roll pasta like pros). The whole experience was intimate, joyful, and delicious from start to finish. We laughed, we learned, we ate way too much. 10/10 would cook (and eat) again! ---

Teresa as very welcoming into her home for our cooking class. She had a menu picked out that suited us well. We enjoyed preparing the meal along with her expert instructions. First time we have made pasta fro scratch. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere very well done with music, wine and a comfortable house. We enjoyed getting to know Teresa and now we have some great recipes to try to replicate at home- all recipes are provided to take with you.

Teresa is a great chef! We had a great time learning to make fresh pasta and 2 pasta sauces. Great dresser made of oranges from her family farm. Highly recommend!

On our first day in Ortigia, Sicily, my friend and I took a cooking class with Teresa at her home. We are older women and joined with a honeymoon couple for this class. Teresa put us right to work making Cavatelli with Sicilian pesto, eggplant parmigiana, and cannoli. We started with the pasta and pesto from scratch, did most of the eggplant pie and finished with rolling the cannoli shells and preparing the salted ricotta and sugar for the filling. Teresa is a wonderful cook and teacher with a welcoming spirit and we learned so much about Sicily and its cuisine. The food we made was really good! We polished it off in her garden with some good wine and conversation. This was one of the best experiences of our visit to Sicily.

Wow! On a sunny Sunday morning we sat on the patio at our individual boards and learned how to make simple pasta shapes. Teresa then brought us in the kitchen for the hands-on sauce-making and eggplant cutlets frying. When our dishes were ready we sat down to a divine lunch with wine. Salut!

WOW! This is a must for anyone visiting the area! I am a solo traveler & Ms. Teresa welcomed me into her home giving me the most authentic experience in the kitchen. She taught me to make 5 different meals in only 2.5 hours time. She was patient, kind and a great cook! I am so thankful for this experience, it is something I’ll remember forever.

We had the most fantastic time cooking with Teresa. She showed us how to cook a range of dishes, from pasta to meatballs to tiramisu. All of which were absolutely delicious and really well explained. Her house was so welcoming and we ate watching the sunset over Sicily. We had the best time ever! At the end, she gave us all the menus and recipes for the dishes, which we happily took home. Wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful backyard. Gave good instruction and corrected technique when required. Lots of food, more than you could ever eat. Taste was fantastic, fresh produce from the markets that morning and herbs picked from the garden. Wine provided along with meal.

We were a group of 4 family members ranging in age from mid 30's to almost 90 and all of us truly enjoyed our experience! We felt as if we were on a cooking show and there were lots of laughs while we learned to make caponata, arancini, and ravioli. Teresa was very good at communicating beforehand and we were excited to have input on the menu. Teresa is an excellent chef and was well-prepared before we got there. She had a few things prepped ahead of time and she seemed to know exactly how long every step would take. We were kept busy in the kitchen, but not overwhelmed. Her garden was beautiful and very relaxing and she had nice music playing in the background. At the end we got to enjoy our meal and once we were back to our hotel, Teresa sent me some nice photos that she took of us during our class. I would highly recommend this class if you are looking for an intimate and authentic experience in a beautiful setting!

Teresa is truly a great person. This was one of the things that my wife was looking forward to the most on our honeymoon, so we left Agrigento very early in the morning to make sure that we could make it. Unfortunately, the lack of sleep and the extreme heat got to me in the market and I was struggling quite a bit. Teresa took care of me and got me everything I needed to feel better. We then had a great cooking class at her house where we learned some very useful tips and made some really delicious food. To top it all off, Teresa stopped on our ride back to our hotel and gave food and water to a dog on her street. I truly cannot thank her enough for all that she did. Teresa is the definition of a traditional Italian mother. If you are looking for an authentic cooking experience and to eat authentic Sicilian food this is the excursion you want to do! We loved the whole process including cooking, eating, great conversation, taking photos, & learning about Sicilian culture. We felt so welcomed into her beautiful home & enjoyed our indoor & outdoor cooking experience. We cooked 4 delicious traditional Sicilian dishes as well as a dessert.

An excellent culinary experience. We shopped the market with Teresa, she carefully explained anything we needed, she prepared samples for us, and together we bought the fresh food for the meal. We then cooked at her house with clear instructions and everyone was engaged. We prepared the meal. Teresa was simply wonderful, a warm, funny, and gracious host. We were provided written recipes from a vast selection, not just the meal we made that day.

We were treated to a delicious meal and engaging experience. Teresa has you choose your menu, and she uses the most delicious and fresh ingredients to create a wonderful (and filling!) meal. She explains the whole process and all of the ingredients and sends you off with cooking and travel tips, including a recipe booklet of her favorite recipes. We are vegetarian and she was very accommodating of our needs.

Teresa was kind enough to invite into her own kitchen and teach us recipes from her family’s recipe book that dates back decades. She showed us everything she grows in her garden and how she implements them into the recipes. Teresa taught us how to make authentic Sicilian recipes that I can’t wait to take back home. We made pumpkin gnocchi, breaded tuna steaks, and the best cannolis I have ever had. Don’t look elsewhere and take the tour in Teresa’s garden and kitchen.

We had such a wonderful time on our class. Teresa is such a patient teacher. We made lovely food in the beautiful surroundings of the garden and having lunch at the end was amazing.

My wife and I had an amazing experience cooking with Teresa. We’ve done cooking classes before in commercial kitchens, and this class in a local’s home was much more authentic. Our class had 4 people total, so the small group size allowed for a very personalized experience. As for Teresa, she’s very welcoming, friendly and a great instructor. As for the menu, Teresa will either provide you with suggestions or allow you to make a request. We cooked arancini al ragu (upon request) and cannolis, plus a handful of other small appetizers. This experience was very much hands on — with a small group of 4, everyone took turns with each of the key steps in the recipes. All the food turned out to taste magnificent and it was more than enough food for lunch (plus leftovers to takeaway). In addition to the food, we were also served coffee in the morning and wine during lunch. Teresa also sent us home with recipes of the items we cooked and a few of her other favorites that we didn’t cook. Lastly, Teresa’s home was lovely and a great environment for the class. I would certainly return and recommend this experience. A very fun and authentic cooking course!

We had a great time and learned some Sicilian cooking! Teresa was very kind and made us feel welcome. She understands food and is a good teacher. We made ravioli from scratch and cooked pulpo Siciliana. Afterwards a delicious lunch.

I had the most wonderful evening at Teresa’s charming home - cooking traditional Sicilian dishes and enjoying her luscious backyard. The setting is beautiful. After travelling for sometime, it’s nice to be welcomed into someone’s home for a home cooked meal :) Teresa is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, organized & a pleasure to spend time with. She even sent me off with my own book of Sicilian recipes :) I look forward to returning next year. I cannot recommend this experience enough!
