Umberto was a great tour great; friendly, informative & great English. The pick up & drop off was from our hotel, very convenient! Loved the private tour experience & the Corleonne museum was interesting too. Highly recommend.
Our day exploring Corleone with our private driver, Umberto, was truly unforgettable. From the Mafia Museum and a wonderful lunch in Corleone to the magnificent sights & historic conversation along the way, Umberto made the experience exceptional. His knowledge of Sicily is remarkable, but even more special is the genuine love and passion he has for his homeland. As the grandson of an immigrant from Sicily I felt connected. He shared that love with us throughout the journey, giving us a deeper appreciation for the history, culture, and beauty of Sicily. Umberto provided wonderful service from beginning to end, and his warmth and enthusiasm made the day feel personal and meaningful. My son Erik and I were so grateful for this experience and would highly recommend Umberto to anyone wanting to discover the real Sicily.
This tour was amazing. Umberto was exceptional in his knowledge and we were all enthralled with the true history of the Mafia. But this was so much more than that. Umberto was a delight. He was very accommodating to our group. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with him. He even gave us some great recipes since we are all cooks.❤️
Umberto was fabulous- knowledgeable and accommodating. He was delightful and I would highly recommend him.
Humberto took us on a wonderful tour of Corleone. His van was clean. He took us on an hour and a half trip up the mountains where in the town of Corleone we took a tour. Brought us back to the port with a side tour of Palermo
Excellent trip for anyone interested in the origins of the mafia, not just what’s in the movies and TV shows. Umberto was very knowledgeable, helpful and made the trip extremely pleasant. Highly recommended
This excursion to Corleone was a very interesting trip with extensive color provided by our well informed guide. We obtained far more information than we expected and would highly recommend this trip or service from anyone visiting the Palermo area.
Humberto was just wonderful and full of information. We had a great time. Loved the museum and the house
It was a great day out very comfortable transport. Loved the mafia museum. Our wonderful guide Umberto made it special he is friendly and knowledgeable he has a very pleasant personality and we felt really comfortable with him. Thanks Umberto from William Anne and Caiden from Scotland
This was a great experience all-round. Umberto our guide was very knowledgeable about both the Mafia but also gave us a rich insight into the history of Sicily itself over the course of the journey. Even accounting for unpredictable Palermo traffic, the day was well-structured with appropriate length of time spent at each attraction. Would highly recommend!
Umberto was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the mafia. However, the tour of the mafia museum (which we had to pay for) was very disappointing. The house itself lacked any real historical significance, the mafia connection is evident, but not worth the price. The guide had many personal opinions on current world affairs and was freely sharing them. A bright spot of the day was the beautiful drive through the countryside. Overall, the price of the tour, paying for the lunch during the outing and entry to the museum, this is a very expensive day that I’d think twice before booking.
What a great day with Umberto. Nice drive from central Palarmo to Corleone. Sicily was full green and the views of the mountains and valleys was perfect. Along the way we learned about how the Mafia started and then a tour of the Mafia museum really came to life. So much to understand. During our drive Umberto taught us about some of the food and cooking technics which we need to try now that we are home. Finally the church at Monreale is impressive. Umberto picked us up at the end of the block from our hotel and dropped us off so we did not have to worry about finding a meeting point. Kind of long day but it was perfect. Great memories and a bunch of great ideas on trying Sicilian cooking. Highly recommend Umberto.
Umberto was both a pleasure and extremely knowledgeable about both the history and the current state of affairs. He made this a memorable day for us, it was incredible.
This was an excellent tour to Corleone and to the Monreale Duomo. Our driver, Umberto, was very knowledgeable. It was like having a family member showing us the area and explaining the history.
Spent a wonderful day with Umberto seeing the Sicilian countryside, visiting Corleone and Monreale. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and its rich history. Definitely recommend!
I'm from Australia, and was looking to book a trip to Sicily with my sister who lives in Oxfordshire. We flew into Sicily from the UK with only 2 full days to explore. I found Umberto on Viator and booked a trip on our second day. Wow, was it worth it. Umberto picked us up from the airport and took us back. During those drives, he was full of knowledge of the history of Palermo and Sicily. We were hooked. On day out with him, he took us to Corleone and a great experience at the Mafia Museum. We felt we experienced the beginnings of how the mafia formed in Corleone. Going on from there we visited Monreale, and the wonderful cathedral. How did they build something so big in such a small town!! We loved Umberto's knowledge and his kind and patient way of handling us. We highly recommend him to anyone
This was an outstanding tour of Corleone. Don’t miss this if you are in the area. Cristian was a wonderful tour guide. I learned alot about the history of the town as well as the great tour of the museum which explained the origins of organized crime in detail. The town of Monreale is beautiful and scenic as well. Highly recommend!
Tour guide very informative about mafia origins all the way up until today. Michael Angelo’s house and museum was also very interesting and informative. Great tour for any Godfather fan.
This tour provided exactly what we expected. A great review of Sicilian history with a friendly intelligent guide who was an excellent driver. Very comfortable experience
It was a drive to Corleone, a trip to the Godfather House Museum and a cafe (that we had to pay for) so I feel like it was very expensive for what we got.
The experience was great! Umberto the guide was very knowledgeable and a great host. He also provided many helpful hits regarding restaurants and places to see well beyond Palermo.
Umberto was very knowledgeable about the mafia in Sicily. The ride was pleasant and was nice to go to Corleone , the museum and the Monreale. We did think there would be more tied into the godfather movie but this really explained the entire mafia in Sicily rather than just the movie. Umberto gave us a nice restaurant suggestion and some movies. He is a great guy.
Our guide Umberto was wonderful and went out of his way to keep us informed and engaged the whole trip . Amazing village like stepping back in time . Museum was incredible and we thoroughly enjoyed our day . Highly recommended
Umberto was a great driver and as a tour guide He knew what the tour is about and where to stop for photos and what to expect from the tour. He also knew where to dine and enjoy a good meal
Umberto was a fantastic guide through Corleone & Monreale. He went well out of his way to help us find exactly where my great grandparents came from! He was very knowledgeable about the area & the terrible history of the mafia. The CIDMA museum was another highlight. Highly recommend using him as a guide! He also gave us great places for lunch & dinner!
A Powerful and Insightful Mafia History Tour We had an incredible experience on the “Origins of the Mafia” tour with Cristian, who was one of the best guides we’ve ever had. From the streets of Palermo to the Godfather house in Corleone, Cristian gave us a fascinating, eye-opening look into the true history of the Mafia—far beyond what you see in movies. His knowledge, storytelling, and passion for Sicilian history made the complex topic easy to understand and deeply compelling. The visit to Monreale Cathedral was stunning, and ending the day at Nicola Giuliano’s ceramics studio added an authentic cultural touch. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to understand the real story behind the Mafia, guided by someone who truly knows and cares.
An amazing day touring Corleone and Monreale. Very knowledgeable guide. Took us to all the best spots.
What a wonderful tour into the Sicilian countryside! Umberto was a great driver and guide, giving a good historical view of Sicily and the mafia as well as current events. We particularly enjoyed seeing Monreale through his eyes as a local and meeting locals he knows.. The cathedral is worth seeing. Don’t pass on the pottery stop. It was interesting, and the designs were unique. I’d absolutely take this tour again.
Umberto was phenomenal! He was prompt, professional, and a great wealth of knowledge. His connections within the Corleone area provided ample opportunities to visit the Original Godfather Home, arrange a last-minute lunch at a local family restaurant for authentic pasta and cannoli's - which were awesome! Additionally, he was flexible to add or remove items as needed to benefit our experience. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone that wants to get away from the big city and experience the countryside of Sicily, while learning about the history of the mafia. Time well spent and will recommend to others!
Súper great , Umberto was incredible We had such a great time Very highly recommend When you book ask for Umberto Very nice guy
The experience was impressive. Umberto was warm and kind all the time with full disposition to teach and guide us all the time
Umberto did a great job. He's very personable and accommodating. He shared a lot of knowledge with us about Corleone, Monreale and Palermo. We really enjoyed our day.
Fabulous drive through the countryside to Corleone. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We saw the old and new town and had an amazing lunch before returning to Palermo and seeing the sites there. It was a great day!
This was a private tour - it was interesting and Umberto made it fun and relevant to us. He also took us to a restaurant in town that made homemade pasta. Excellent!!! Thanks Umberto
Really enjoyed this tour! Our guide Umberto was very pleasant and knowledgeable. It was nice to get away from the big city to the small town of Corleone - very scenic. We had a guided tour the villa of a former mafia boss with history of the mafia which was very interesting. (This visit cost 10 Euro each, not included as part of the tour.) Stopped at a small café for an authentic cannoli and cappuccino and bought fresh fruit at a local market. On the way back to Palermo, we visited the town of Monreale for a pizza lunch and visit to the stunningly beautiful cathedral. Great day!
Excellent day! Our driver/tour guide Umberto was very knowledgeable and very friendly!!! We highly recommend this tour!!! Umberto we can’t thank you enough for a great tour!!!
Learning about the Corleone people, the origins of the mafia and its history, visiting the cathedral in monreale. Eating fresh ricotta and sweets. Our guide Humberto was so nice made us feel like family! Very professional and we felt safe! I recommend without reservations.
Tour guide, Antonio, very knowledgeable about the area, history of Corleone and other infamous mafia/cosa nostra families. He picked us up from hotel on time with a comfortable van. The drive had beautiful scenery and the small town (9,000 population) had charming old and new sections. Tour of old home interesting led by Michelangelo with historical info on home and area. Then wonderful lunch at Russo Pastificio with homemade pasta by “grandma.” Quick stop at treasured cathedral, Monreale Duomo. The tour made for a relaxing and interesting day thanks to Antonio and his knowledge.
We had the most wonderful tour of Corleone from Umberto. He went out of his way to ask the locals about my husband’s family heritage that originated from there. We had a very informative and interesting tour of the Godfathers house and then an amazing lunch at a local restaurant. I would highly recommend this tour, worth every penny!!
Umberto was a terrific guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the mafia and the town of Corleone. I loved exploring the Godfather’s House. He also took me to local stores where I sampled cheese and purchased fruits. The stop at Monreale was just as terrific. Umberto always pointed out things I should make sure I see. He kindly stopped at any good sites for photo opportunities. He’s the best and so was this tour.
It was a beautiful ride to Corleone and our guide was so knowledgeable about the region which was truly appreciated.
Tour was a relaxing and unique experience - the Godfather Museum was very different, interesting. Our guide Cristian was excellent! He was very knowledgeable about the history of Palermo and surrounding area. He was also a complete gentleman
This excursion was well worth the cost because of the personalized service received. Our tour guide, Roberto, did an excellent of driving us through the beautiful countryside of Palermo and the mountains surrounding the city of Corleone, while giving us a history of the mafia in relation to the surrounding areas. Roberto parked as close as possible to the Mafia Museum because he knew I had difficulty walking and doing steps. It was a short walk to the museum where we were welcomed by the owner of the mafia house museum and he gave us a most colorful and informative tour of the museum/house room by room. The house did not appear that big from the outside but it was quite spacious and contained many interesting rooms filled with artifacts and photos from the Corleone family that lived there in the past. Afterwards we walked to the center of the village and had lunch, then were off to see the church and village of Monreale Duomo. After viewing the church we had free time to explore the shops and village around the church and get a delicious gelato. Afterwards, Roberto took us back to Palermo. Before dropping us off at our hotel he was kind enough to show us the meeting place for our next excursion as well as good shopping areas before dropping us off at our hotel. Roberto also stopped along the way during our tour and gave us ample time take pictures of the beautiful scenery and he took pictures with us in them.
Our driver, Umberto, was great! I'd give him a solid 5 star!! He was prompt and a very safe driver. He gave us so much interesting info and very pleasant. My husband's ancestors came from Corleone, and Umberto took us to City Hall for research. What a great experience! We were able to identify the house and church of the family. The tour of the Godfather museum was interesting and fun but could be done in half the time.
The Tour was wonderful, Our tour guide Umberto was fantastic, he had so much knowledge of Sicily and all the surrounding areas. We started our drive to Corleone which flew by with all the stories Umberto shared. He could answer any questions we had for him. Once we arrived in Corleone we met up with other tourists from Umberto’s brother’s tour who joined us on the walk to the museum. Once we arrived we were greeted by Michelangelo and his son. Who owned the house. The tour was fantastic and very informative and interesting. After the museum Umberto took us to Monreale showing us where to go and the best places to eat! Once the day was finished he took us back to Palermo and told us where to go. The tour was fantastic and we would recommend to anyone!!
Umberto treated us to a special day in rural Sicily, exploring the history of the Mafia in Corleone and visiting one of the most special churches in Europe at his home town of Monreale. Umberto is a warm and very congenial host with a treasure of local knowledge and history which he dispenses with much charm and generosity. Highly recommended.
We went on a private tour to Corleone. Our family had Umberto while my sister’s had Umberto’s brother. They were on time with clear instructions via whatsapp. It was a wonderful and fun day. Umberto was very knowledgeable and walked with us to destinations and places where locals go. Kids were very entertained with the mafia house. If you have plans to go in other towns like Cefalu and Monreale, it’s best you arrange with them as well. They can do all instead of doing different tour companies.
Excellent tour by Umberto in a clean and safe vehicle with excellent and knowledgeable advice on the Local region in good English. Splendid views and a great day out.
Wow what a fantastic day ! We had a wonderful time the whole day was a brilliant experience, Christian collected us from outside our apartment , the vehicle was luxurious clean and perfectly equipped. He welcomed us and made us feel at ease, First we drove to the mafia village of Corleone on the way Christian explained the history of the mafia going back 300 yrs and it’s original origins. No questions were to much trouble for him he spoke perfect English and was happy to clarify any details we asked about . Once we arrived in the village he was happy to stop for pictures and his knowledge of the area and locations was first class , he knew all the best areas for pictures and didn’t rush us at any time. Once we had parked on Corleone he showed us around the small town starting in the main square, then we were able to walk the small streets to the mafia museum called the godfather house , this was great the owners father and son were brilliant both intellectuals and very funny. We had a great experience with them & would recommend the tour to the godfather house. Then we traveled to the Cathedral of Monte real , we arrived at lunchtime as the church didn’t open until 2.30pm this allowed us opportunity to walk around the area eat some lunch, the Cathedral was beautiful with the most amazing ceilings I have ever seen and was free to enter. After this we mentioned the amount of pine core sculptures we had seen around Sicilly, Cristian ask if would like to visit a local independent artist who produced these and other sculptures in a factory close by , we immediately decided yes. He then took us to Nicolo Giuliano factory which was closed due to it being a Saturday, but this amazing kind and humble genius arrived and opened the factory for us and showed myself and my daughter the complete process of creating the amazing artwork he produces, we were blown away by his creativity, his patience to explain his life’s work & humbleness… what beautiful people! This was so kind of Cristian to allow us this opportunity and completely unexpected. The was no attempt to push to buy anything (although we did) as the items produced were so beautiful it would be hard not to love them. After we thanked Nicolo Cristian returned us to our apartment , he also gave us a list films to watch and experience the world of the mafia and the history of the real Sicily. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the truth about the mafia Corleone and the history of Sicily. And sharing the experience with a fantastic intellectual tour guide. Thanks again Cristian!! Simon & Iona . .
