We really enjoyed our tour of Savoca and Taormina with Katia. She was personable, enthusiastic and a great communicator. While I was the most interested in the godfather movies among my friends, all enjoyed the time in Savoca. It was nice that Katia shared some cookies and focaccia with the group. We opted for the lunch option. While it was the best meal I had on our trip, it took up most of the time in Taormina, so I may not have chosen it had I’d known. I would highly recommend this tour as a cruise shore excursion. We got back to the ship with plenty of time. Discover Messina did a fantastic job beginning-to-end with planning and communication.

We have taken lots of tours in different countries and this is definitely one of the very best. Katya the guide was extremely knowledgeable, spoke excellent English, and was very enthusiastic and good fun! As well as telling us about Sicilian history and architecture she knew all about the details of the shoot of the Godfather and also where to get the best pizza, cannoli and ice cream - all you need to know for a great day out! Giovanni was friendly and navigated the narrow streets very well and with good humour. Take this tour.

Hands down, this was the best touring company I have ever experienced! The entire day was seamless, structured, and welcoming. They even provided their own app where we could easily view our itinerary for the day, which made tracking everything completely stress-free. It was my parents' and my first time visiting Sicily, and as a huge fan of The Godfather, seeing these iconic sites in person was an absolute dream come true. Our tour guide, Katia, was incredible. She was funny, warm, and deeply knowledgeable. She shared fascinating details about the island’s history alongside fun trivia, keeping us entertained with plenty of laughs along the way. A huge shoutout as well to our driver, Giovanni, who was truly exceptional. I usually suffer from motion sickness, but I felt completely comfortable the entire day. Navigating Sicily's narrow, winding roads takes real skill, and Giovanni is simply the best driver for the job. To top it off, Katia and Giovanni had the best dynamic, playfully teasing each other like brother and sister, which added such a charming, authentic energy to our group. Every stop along the tour was breathtaking, and we are forever grateful for such a memorable experience.

What an excellent tour ! It’s been on my bucket list for over 30 years and I’m so happy that it didn’t disappoint… Katia was amazing 🤩 and made it a special day ! Just wish we’d had a longer day but our cruise stop was a short stay unfortunately!

Incredible full day and even when a random thunderstorm popped up Katia when and found umbrellas ☔️ and rain coats for the group highly recommended

We had booked the small-group option, but the night before learned there weren’t enough people and we would be combined with another group. We ended up with 22 people, but our guide Katia did such a good job keeping everyone together that it really wasn’t an issue. I would have given this a 5, but there was a reason that we wanted to be in a smaller group. We thought about cancelling (I am glad we did not), but we really had no other options due to the late notification nor were there any other options provided. Katia Renzo was marvelous and I would recommend this group in the future. Their communications are far superior than other tours companies we booked with (Viator) and they demonstrated a caring attitude for our concerns.

Antonella was a great guide who spoke English well! She was fun and provides much information about Messina, Savoca and Taormina for food and shopping! Its such a cute town! The bus was warm. We had to keep asking for time to turn the AC up. Antonella made it happen!!

Claudia our guide was lovely! Our first stop beautiful Toarmina, was hot and very busy, although we still enjoyed our time there! Our next stop, Savoca was the highlight of the tour for our group. We had many Godfather fans who enjoyed seeing the filming location! Thanks to Claudia & our driver for an incredible time! From the singing Scottish group!

This tour is sooooo good, this was our 2nd year in a row attending. Ok, we brought family along because we knew they would also love it as much as we do. Bus picks you up right outside the cruise ship port, sign easy to read, bus clean and guide was superb. Katie is a wonderful guide full of joy. Knowledgeable and passionate explaining the Sicily portion of The God Father movie set. Can’t provide too much detail as I don’t want to spoil it for you. Don’t miss it. It’s a must do! A brilliant day from start to finish. Katia the guide was excellent and was brilliant to be with. The visits were great and the Godfather aspect of the trip first class. The transport was great as was the supplied water. Ample time to do your own thing at the stops and we were dropped back at the ship with ample time to spare. The stop early in the morning in Messina was really interesting as well. Excellent trip and guide. Well worth booking when in Messina.

Katia was lovely and very informative on the journey, she exceeded our expectations, she is a wonderful tour guide and is a credit to the company, Francesca the driver was also a lovely man and was very helpful and friendly.

All I can say is wow! Katia was our guide and let me tell you she was AMAZING! This tour was so interesting and beautiful. Katia gave us the best tour in Sicily. Unfortunately, it wasn’t long enough in Sicily bc we had to be back to the ship at 4:15. But that’s the cruise lines fault. The godfather locations were so cool to see in person. St. Lucia’s church was beautiful and Taoramina was spectacular! If you can request Katia do it! Best excursion! Very enjoyable day with informative guide through Godfather village of Savoca and then through pretty Taormina - just the right amount of time in each. Be prepared for lots of walking, although shade and refreshments always nearby.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Discover Messina Sicily, and Julia and Vito made the day truly unforgettable! Julia was an incredible guide. She was extremely knowledgeable not only about The Godfather movies, but also about Sicily, its history, culture, and the places we were visiting. She had a great way of telling the stories that made everything feel alive and kept all of us completely engaged throughout the day. She was also incredibly accommodating with our toddler, which made a huge difference for our family. By the end of the tour, somehow Julia had even turned all of us into fans of the Messina football team! 😂⚽️🇮🇹 And then there’s Vito… Vito might be the best driver I’ve ever had on a tour. Watching him navigate the Sicilian roads was like watching Jason Statham in The Transporter mixed with Jason Bourne. 😂 He handled everything with incredible confidence and skill while still making us feel completely safe and comfortable. Honestly, watching him drive was almost an attraction itself! Julia and Vito were the perfect team. They gave us an amazing look at Sicily, made us laugh, taught us a ton, and made the entire day feel personal rather than like we were just being taken from one tourist stop to another. If you’re a Godfather fan, or even if you’re just looking for a fantastic way to experience Sicily, I highly recommend Discover Messina Sicily. It was amainzg!! The communication before as far as meeting place and direction were great. Katia and our driver, Giacomo were outstanding and made the tour even better. Katia gave each of us a delicious cookie and provided us with a bottle water which was a bonus. Her knowledge was excellent and her deliverance was well understood. A tremenous time with exceptional guides. Katia the Guide and Jacobo the driver were phenomenal. Every part of this trip was centered on celebrating the historical, cultural and geographical charm of Sicily, while also caring about the tourists at the same time. Yes, Savoca was hot, as was Taoromina, but the trip was worth every minute! The smiles, the laughter, the eagerness to share about a truly magical place made each person in our group: My parents (early 80s), my husband and I and our daughter had a BLAST!! Katia knows what she is doing, and the driver as well. The communication from beginning, middle and end, was clear, concise and catered to the folks in the comfortable, airconditioned van. We also enjoyed the lovely cookies and the bottled water :) We'll be back, and we'll be in touch with this amazing DISCOVER MESSINA again!

The experience was excellent. Our driver and guide were absolutely perfect for us. So much attention to detail with all of the information given and requested. I definitely would recommend Discover Messina tour guides when in Messina, Italy 🇮🇹

Ford van transports a group of 15. Van ride uncomfortable. Tour guide stopped at the Godfather city. There were free toilets with no toilet paper. After everyone drip dried, she told us she had tissues. Our group spent all of their time in the shops and the tour guide abandoned the tour and let us go out on our own so we wouldn’t have to wait for everyone. While I am glad to not be held hostage by the group of tourists that walk at the pace of a slug and stopped for every shop, we didn’t get our tour. We just toured on our own. Save your money and hire a taxi driver to drop you off at the town with the Godfather buildings. Then take another taxi to Taormina.

Despite the heat we had a wonderful day. Our guide Stella was informative helpful and very entertaining. The free was on such a hot day was a great idea. Discover Messina were great with communication via the app and even arranged a pick up from our hotel. Can’t recommend them enough

Pick up was ready at the port when we disembarked from cruise. Easy to find and the transport was excellent. Just 6 in the group which was more personal. Excellent and informative guide. Godfather town was beautiful and so interesting. Taormina was a beautiful place to visit and have lunch. Highly recommended.

This was the first excursion I booked for our Mediterranean cruise. My friends and I all loved the movie The Godfather and couldn't wait to see the locations in Sicily where the scenes were shot, so this was a no-brainer. This tour did not disappoint. Our guide, Serena, was so much fun from start to finish. While traveling to the town of Savoca, we were treated to a history of Sicily and the local cuisine. Once in Savoca, we saw the bar and the church were the Godfather was shot. We tried the local wine and cookies. The cookies were so good that I brought some back home with me. Our next stop was Taormina. This ancient town was absolutely stunning. We walked around and enjoyed pizza for lunch. This was an enjoyable excursion, and the next time we are in Sicily, we will be booking another trip with Discover Messina.

Fun, intimate and informative this is a must for anyone who is a fan of the Godfather movies or just wants to learn about local places less traveled in the area.

The Tour is a must do if you got to Messina. The provider Discover Messina is the best choice. If you are lucky and have as tour guide Katia and driver Renzo, you have won the power ball. I remember reading The Godfather book when it came out. I was a teen and could not put it down. Every Thanksgiving weekend there was the Godfather movie marathon. I’m a huge fan. I anticipated this excursion more than any other out of my 14 day cruise. It did not disappoint. Our guide Elisa was personable and knowledgeable about all sorts of the movie trivia. I kind of dragged my husband along. He was equally impressed. The time spent in Taormina was also eye opening. Don’t miss the Greek Theatre.

We took the Godfather tour on 6/9.  Carmelo and the driver picked us up and dropped us off at the cruise ship terminal.  This is very convenient  since some of the other excursions we took required taxi rides to and from.  This was probably one of the best tours I have ever taken.  Carmelo was extremely knowledgeable and engaging, answering just about every question we had.  We learned about Sicilian culture and history along the ride and had a wonderful experience.  I would highly recommend this tour.

Great tours and plenty of time to see and do lots of things. Katie was excellent tour guide and very entertaining and had plenty of water and snack stops. She knew the people very well and personally. But the road up very narrow. So if you don’t like heights and then narrow roads you might skip. But overall excellent value for the money!

We had a great day visiting the area where The Godfather was filmed. It was such a pretty, hilly village with 2 churches. Taormina is the perfect place if you want to shop, eat, take pictures or people watch.

This experience, led by Katia exceeded our expectations. Sicily was breathtaking and Katia’s knowledge of it was impressive. We loved Savoca, the tiny town where parts of the Godfather were shot. If you’re a fan, you’ll really appreciate it. Taormina was stunning as well and getting views of Mount Etna was icing on the cake. The whole day was perfect. We did this as a port stop on Brilliance of the Seas and the process was super easy. We were picked up and dropped off right at the ship. Highly recommend! Worth every penny.

Wonderful intimate tour of two quaint Italian towns. Great history surrounded with little cafes and shopping. Our driver Lillo was terrific as was our wonderful guide Serena. Highly recommend this tour!

We really like the tour and the tour guide! My rating of 4 is because there was a group of 4-6 ladies who were consistently late in returning to the tour van on time. As a result, we lost a valuable 30 minutes of much needed time. I would suggest that tour guides leave on time and respect the time of those passengers that are likewise on time. I would have no issues with leaving people behind that don’t respect the clock and fellow passengers.
