Taormina And Castelmola Private And Guided Tour With Arancino

We spent two wonderful days with Corrado exploring Taormina, Syracuse, and Ortigia. His knowledge of the history and culture was impressive, and he had a wonderful way of explaining everything clearly and making it interesting. He was personable, friendly, and a pleasure to spend time with. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. Highly recommend!

We did this tour with Marco and he was great. We asked to change our pickup spot last minute and he didn’t hesitate. He spoke very good English and provided a wealth of information during our tour. He pointed out lots of great restaurants and gelato places. He was also fantastic at taking pictures of us throughout the day. I would like to have him follow along on our entire trip to document. His driving was safe and it was a very fun day.

We met Elena, our guide, at the port after our tender dropped us off. Elena was very personable and friendly, and was totally open to how we wanted to customize the tour. She had a great suggestion for heading up to Castelmona first, where she took us to a great pub/bar with some “interesting” decorations. She explained about the various parts of the area, and then later we drove down to Taormina, where we went to a great Arancino spot, which was amazing. We never would have found it or the other sites without Elena’s first hand knowledge of the area. We were very happy with Elena and was glad to hear she was ok after Mt. Etna erupted the day our ship left port.

We learned so much about Taormina’s past and saw hidden gems off the main streets. Marco was an excellent guide with perfect English and spoke with emotion.

Excellent tour guide in Catania. Sicily, Italy. I may mot spell it correctly . Cheers to Carrillo. He gave excellent instructions where to meet us by the cruise port. We saw everything and even did some shopping. Beautiful historic sites and architecture. Castelmola was picturesque. Our tour included visiting a family owned cannoli shop to watch them make the delicious treats . We each enjoyed a cannoli. Our day ended with tasting arancini and almond wine from the region. His English was excellent and his car was clean and cool. We invited him to come visit us in Texas and we would take him to a Texan livestock show and rodeo in Houston . It was an amazing day.

We LOVED this tour!! Taormina is gorgeous and our guide Corrado was awesome! He gave us just enough info without boring us with facts and history. Plus he took us to the most amazing and oldest cannoli shop in the town! We then headed up to Castelmola which was a spectacular mountain top town and had lunch at a very interesting and very delicious restaurant! It was a fantastic day! I highly recommend this tour!

Corrado was terrific. He had so much knowledge about the area and knew where to direct us that we would have missed on our own. The towns were beautiful and some of our favorite. He also knew the best places for a snack and best cannoli we have ever had!

This was our first stay in Sicily. Taormina was our home base. We took this tour early during our stay and it was a great introduction to the area. Elena was a very good tour guide and very instructive . Great views especially from Castelmola. We definitely recommend this tour .

We had a great experience with Corrado. He was accommodating, knowledgeable and perfect at navigating what can be crowded areas. Everyone had a great time and we saw a ton in a short time!

We spent the day with Corrado and had an amazing experience from start to end. We were in town off a cruise (my parents and family (including 2 teenagers) and went from Catania to Taormina and on to Castelmola. Everything was well planned, including stops to experience food and wine, and Corrado's explanations were fascinating and engaging for our entire family. It was a day we will always remember!

We so enjoyed our tour guide Corrado. He was friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and so polite. He knew how to dodge the crowds, find shade, give us fascinating facts and history of the area. All 7 of us felt like we got the royal treatment. And we had ages of 75 to 20! Thank you Corrado for a fun and memorable day!!

The van was way too small for the 9 of us. The tour guide was the driver, also. He was very friendly and courteous, however, we couldn’t hear him. He didn’t have a microphone and we didn’t have headsets to hear him.

We had a beautiful day in November so Mt Etna was fully visible, along with all the lovely sights in Castlemola and Taormina. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable in the history of the area. We felt like we really filled the day! We also enjoyed tasting the local snack— which was a huge portion and very tasty. This is a very good historical tour.

From the beginning of our correspondence, our tour guide Marco was lovely. We had an unusual tour because it unexpected poured rain, forcing us to divert inside and off of our schedule. HOWEVER — that didn’t stop Marco. He took us around efficiently to sites including: historic churches, Castelmola, Christina’s for arancini. He also took great instagram photos of us and made sure we understood everything and that he explain that equally as smoothly.

We had a very enjoyable, fun visit driven and guided by Corrado. He gave us lots of history and information and pointed out interesting details along the way. He was also understanding of my husband’s slower pace of walking and made a lot of effort to work around stairs or to give us choices as much as possible.

My wife and I had the pleasure of doing this tour with Marco. He was very knowledgeable and very funny. Very down to earth guy. We had a great tour today, and stopped at some places and he took beautiful pictures of us, and we sampled some local food and drinks and ended with a pleasant lunch. I highly recommend this tour. Our trip to Sicily, Taormina, and Castelmola had some great moments, and we would love to return to explore more. The food and shopping were definitely the highlights, with an incredible variety of local specialties and unique finds. However, there were a few disappointments that marred the experience. Unfortunately, our tour guide didn’t select the restaurant for us, leaving us overwhelmed by the numerous options. In a place known for its exceptional cuisine, the guide should have picked the best of the best. As Italians are known for their high standards when it comes to food, this felt like a missed opportunity. I hope the tour company reads this and considers making the necessary changes. For the cost of the tour, we also expected better transportation. The car provided was small and filthy, far from the level of comfort we anticipated. Given the price, a Mercedes van would have been more appropriate. While the driver was knowledgeable, he wasn’t particularly helpful when it came to assisting older members of our group, especially with navigating stairs. Instead, he spent too much time chatting with shopkeepers. This was in stark contrast to our other drivers, who were all very compassionate and attentive. Overall, we had a good time, but these issues took away from what could have been an amazing experience. We hope the tour company makes improvements for future guests.

Great tour with a super guide, we felt she was a friend showing us the history and beauty. Great time, views, knowledge, very welcoming and accommodating- we didn’t feel pressured and felt we had options to take the tour where we wanted at our own desired pace. Elena was a very great guide and the lunch was super local and artisanal. Such a fantastic way to get to know the history of the area. Highly recommend.

This tour was definitely the highlight of our trip! Marco did an amazing job, he was very patient and informative, a great guide! We had a Taormina tour, followed by an amazing traditional Sicilian lunch in Castelmola town. The lunch was delicious and we even tasted local wine. After lunch we had the opportunity to enjoy the stunning view from the castle and a walking tour of the town. We really recommend this tour and Marco as a guide!

Elena was an excellent guide, quite knowledgeable and entertaining. Although born in Russia, she had lived in Sicily for 20 years and we had wonderful discussions about culture. We actually had her as our guide for two days.

My husband and I really loved this experience. Marco was an excellent guide who went the extra mile to ensure we were able to see all the points of interest. Our guide Maurizio was fantastic, very knowledgeable and provided a narrative that didn’t seem rehearsed. He related specific historical insights that were thoughtful and welcome.

Our driver was prompt and the van very nice, clean, cool, and comfortable even with our large group of 7. Stefano was so great even took us to some other photo and sightseeing locations on the island and explained so much to us during the drive! Rosie was our guide in the village and she was great! Showed us so many hidden places in Taormina and was so knowledgeable! She adjusted to our needs as we wanted to do some shopping as well. The food and wine tasting was great with cheeses, meats, pasta, and even choice of wines. A+++

The tour guide was knowledgeable but the car was a little car and hard to get in and out of. He spoke great English! The city was very lovely!

Fabio was good guide. Showed a few “hidden” areas of Taormina that were interesting. After walking tour met our driver with a large van (9passenger). There were 4 of us. I assumed to not be crowded due to Covid restrictions. However, I was disappointed we couldn’t go to Madonna Della Rocca on the way to Castlemola, van too big to go in. Views from Castlemola were awesome. Then to Giardini Naxos where we had the “food option”. A small, non-descript cafe. We sat outside at table for 4, with a tall “privacy” hedge blocking all view or the bay. Typical Sicilian charcuterie & wine. It was just ok. There was no further tour or seaside walk. Back in the van. I would have gladly passed on the food to see more of the seaside view

We took a tour with our guide Manuel to see Taormina and Castelmora. We also visited Giardini-Naxos where we ate lunch on the water. The amphitheatre in Taormina was one of the best panoramas I have ever seen! There were lots of steps but they were well worth the effort to see the beauty of these areas. Manuel was fantastic and truly went the extra mile to make us comfortable and give us an unforgettable day!

We had a magnificent day. Roberto picked us up at the Messina port and drove us to Taormina where we met Gerry who gave us a private tour of Taormina for 2 hours. He provided historical references and our conversations were educational and in depth. Then, Roberto drove us to two wineries in Etna where we were greeted by the families of the wineries. We enjoyed tours of the vineyards and cellars. We had amazing food and wine pairings. It was just fantastic! It was the absolute best! We would highly recommend. Ask for Roberto and Gerry, specifically. You won't be disappointed.

The cost of the tour was not worth the money. There were four of us. The car was small. We had a taxi driver take us around in the next town we visited and the cost was far much less. Taormina was beautiful, but the cost was way to high for this tour given.
