Taormina - Classic Boat Tour

Unforgettable Taormina Boat Tour with Angelo! We had an absolutely amazing time on our family boat tour departing from Isola Bella! Angelo was an incredible guide—he took us to explore all the gorgeous grottos, pointing out fascinating details along the way and sharing the rich history behind the beautiful hotels perched on the cliffs of Taormina. He was exceptionally warm, knowledgeable, and accommodating from start to finish. He truly made our trip special, and I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Considering I feel like I paid quite a bit of money for this boat trip, I am quite disappointed. I expected a romantic trip with my partner with food and drinks, a swim in the sea… Instead we got one glass of Prosecco, and a bowl of crisps. We stopped at one place quickly, no chance to swim and were just showed the hotels. The driver was friendly and polite but spoke little English, it was a nice trip but not what I felt like I paid for.

It was a very pleasant day out on the water. A nice break from the main town center of Taormina. Even though water got choppy at times, the boat captain handled it skillfully.

The experience of seeing Taormina from the water was excellent. The boat was comfortable. The guide however did not speak good English as advertised so he couldn’t answer our questions. The refreshments were sparse, no towels were provided and it had been a little difficult to communicate prior to the tour. We did enjoy it, I just think it could have been much better with a few tweaks.

This boat trip was terrible, the driver of the boat did not speak English clearly, could only describe attractions in one word descriptions. We were offered none of the items listed below: Beach towels Bottled water Almond Pastries, Chips, Pretzels Fruit juice, cold tea and soft drinks Use of Snorkelling equipment Prosecco He did not stop and allow any of us to go in the water, he never put the cover up on the boat and it was extremely hot so we sat in the sun. My daughter and her boyfriend had to sit in the front of the boat and nearly roasted. AND, the entire boat ride was 1 hour, only 1 hour. I don't know who this boat owner was, but I would never recommend him to any other guest.

The trip was nice, but there was one major problem. The employee should have notified our hotel so that we could board, but this was not done. If it had been done, the hotel staff could have told them that the weather was not suitable for boarding. As a result, they dropped us off at a place other than our hotel and we had to pay a taxi (less than 10 minutes) for 30€. We were quite surprised to learn that we had to pay for the taxi, even though the fault lay with the employee. Especially since it had been indicated that the agency would take care of the trip. Of course, we were warned that we had to pay the taxi when it dropped us off, not before we got in. What's more, we wanted to go snorkelling (we contacted the agency) but no equipment was made available to us... What could have been a wonderful experience was more like a tourist trap.

Our group of 6 arrived after a not-great taxi experience and were all a bit cranky, so we did not have high hopes. We sat and ate a nearby restaurant to wait for the tour (food was decent to good, beer was cold, service was great.) We met Simona our guide and the captain and waded into the water to climb into the boat which was small and clean. There wasn't much conversation from our guides but the views were gorgeous. As the tour went on, the guides warmed up considerably and were very accommodating and able to ensure our group had a great time, allowing us longer than scheduled to let us a swim in the turquoise water. They also had excellent advice to navigate the train back to our hotel. As others have noted, we weren't offered any snacks, but it was not a food tour, and we still had fun and saw absolutely stunning views. Would recommend to others, maybe mostly adults since the water can get a bit choppy for littles. Overall a wonderful experience!

Beautiful views from the water. The boat operator was very nice and accommodating. We spent about 5-10 minutes swimming. They dropped at requested location.

Antonio was such a fun time. He provided prosecco, food, and was very patient with us. He let us steer the boat! We liked him so much that we went back the second day for an additional outing! Grazie mille Antonio (e Martina!), ti amiamo!

Boat operator was very curt - didn’t introduce himself, did not offer life vests when we got on the boat, even for the children. They did not provide snorkeling, despite it being advertised as a snorkeling trip. He didn’t help anyone on or off the boat to go swimming and turned the engines on before we could get back on there boat safely. When we said we couldn’t hear his narration, he just used the excuse that it was the engine noise and didn’t try to find a way to explain anything so we could hear. The views were stunning and glad we went on a boat off the coast - but this specific tour and driver were disappointing.

Overall, very disappointing. Not only were there only three bottles of water for seven people, but the almond pastry, chips, and pretzels were absent. Nor was there fruit juice or the sodas. Not only that, but Nicholas showed up late, and tried to end early. When we called him on it, he took us to a very choppy and rough part of the sea. It was very scary and unsafe for the baby. Very disappointing

We loved being on the boat and experiencing the beautiful scenery and cave formations from the water vantage point. The boat is very clean and comfortable. Our tour was exactly one hour, we felt like our swim/relax on the water time was cut short.

Very nice new boat with a young captain. Sad we had cloudy weather. Nice cruise. They need to work on reading the passengers. Bypassing the edgy music. A full glass of Prosecco would have been nice.

Really nice private boat tour for me and my wife. Easy and helpful organisation, including them booking a return taxi to pick us up and drop us off between hotel and embarkation point. Then the tour itself was great. Lovely little boat that's perfectly comfortable and the driver/guide Nicholas is brilliant. Takes you right up and even into some of the caves where possible which is pretty cool to see. Then after about an hour or so along the coast, we stopped for a bit and Nicholas offerd us some prosecco or juice and provided some snacks. It was so beautiful to chill out on the ocean with a drink before heading back. Good value for money and would recommend.

Our captain Nicholas is exceptional and made this a wonderful time to remember. He is great navigator and he explains everything perfectly. He made you welcome onboard so you feel you are in your own boat. Very pleasant and charming!

Wonderful way to kick off our stay in Taormina! We booked this tour for our first day to get a relaxing lay of the land and it did not disappoint! Tour guides were very knowledgeable & attentive. Our favorite part was the caves in the rocks. Highly recommend!

We, family of six, 2 overweight grandparents (one disabled), a 2 year old, a 5 year old and their parents arrived at the designated meeting spot. The seas were very rough near shore and we could even see the boat bouncing back and forth as it approached. The boat operator did not pull up to a dock or any other place the boat could be tied down and safe to board. We waded out to the boat which was still thrashing with the waves with the bow of the boat pointing at us. We asked the operator how to get on. He said, "Hop on." We asked him if he had a ladder to climb on board. He said no, just hop on. We told him we can't do that. As we stood there arguing with him, he could not control his vessel and the boat HIT my five year old granddaughter in the head. The operator backed out of the area and returned to the sea and we could see him on the phone. We called the lady from the tour and told her what was going on and demanded a refund. My daughter argued with her for 10 minutes about the refund and the lady said she would issue the refund. Still haven't got the refund. I have a video of the waves hitting the shore that day. This company should have told us that the seas were rough. They should also have advised us that there is NO DOCK AND NO OTHER WAY TO GET ON THE BOAT EXCEPT BY "HOPPING ON" THE BOW OF THE BOAT AND CRAWLING OVER TO THE SEATS!

My partner and I enjoyed this boat tour during a recent trip to Sicily. The captain was on time and pleasant. We did not have any snacks on board but were offered some drinks and swam in the sea. Would recommend for a nice tour of the beautiful Taormina sea!

We thought we would be on a relaxing trip with a bit of a tour of the coast and caves, but instead we had loud music playing, very little facts on the tour and a glass of Prosecco only was offered despite what the tour should have included. The tour person was friendly enough, but didn’t feel particularly comfortable on the trip overall and expensive for something that was more of a boat ride rather than a proper tour. Would not use this again.

The description is not what we experienced. The boat was 30 minutes late (due to a situation with a previous guest, we were told). I don't know what "sea tablecloths" are. There were 3 of us in our group. It was a motorboat experience. We were only out for an hour. By the time we were offered anything to eat or drink, we were apparently only 15 minutes away from the dock we were returning to. So enough time for one drink for each of us. The description makes the experience sound much more than what we had. We didn't plan to swim or snorkel, but that's not the fault of the booker. But they could have still boated around during the time that would normally be spent on the snorkeling. The boat only went into one of the grottoes, as it was too big, and we heard the captain arguing with the captain of another boat about who had more insurance (he didn't realize we understood some Italian). It seemed unprofessional. We had taken a similar boat tour the day before in Siracusa, but it was $30 cheaper. On that tour we had gotten to go into three grottoes, and snorkeling and swimming was also offered. If you're thinking you're paying extra for some kind of nice dining experience, look elsewhere.

We chose to hire a boat privately as a family of four. Unfortunately we didn't receive any of the refreshments (water, alcoholic beverages) or snacks (pastries, fruit. etc) that were specified as included in the package, only a fruit skewer was offered when we anchored with another boat to allow time for a quick swim. We also didn't go closer to any of the caves, as some boats did, to allow a better look or for photos. It felt a little rushed.

My boyfriend and I were so pleased with our boat trip. It was easy to organise. The captain emailed me after I booked and we decided a time. He was prompt and the pickup area was really easy to get to for us. The boat is beautiful and has great spots to lie out and tan or sit at the front. It felt really luxurious, especially with the boat all to ourselves. There were other boats crammed with people which did not look very comfortable. Our captain was really friendly and explained lots of what we saw. We stopped to have a swim, glasses of Prosecco, some little biscuits and he had snorkelling gear too. It was a lovely two hour trip. We really recommend this boat trip for anyone who wants to be in a beautiful boat with just their partners/families.

Flexible with pickup, but the guide was very poor in English and did not seem very interested in explaining.

Could not be happier! The views are stunning and the service is wonderful. Highly recommend this tour!!! Planned to take my dad for his 70th birthday but wasn’t sure if this will be possible due to his mobility issues after an accident and a stroke. Getting on and off a small boat is usually impossible. I reached out to Voyage Tour Taormina in advance and they patiently communicated with me via WhatsApp leading up to the trip and checked in with me daily regarding weather conditions. Today we finally took the tour and it was beyond perfect. Gabriele organized a taxi for us to and from the harbor, they helped getting my dad in and out of the boat and my dad had a great time. He used to go sailing a lot so being able to see Taormina from the water was very exciting for him. And Gabriele is very knowledgeable and skilled, maneuvering the boat in and out of the grottos like it’s no big deal, explaining stuff in perfect English and playing Sicilian music.

I was in taormina for an holiday with my family and we took a boat trip for half day, the accuracy of Gabriele (the skipper) for the "boarding details" was great,also communication. The highlight of our vacation in Taormina. Beautiful coast, landscape and an incredible clean water in the various spot that Gabriele raccomended to us.

The tour was booked in English, our guide knew only the 5-star hotels' names in English and didn't speak a word in English other than that. The tour was booked for 9:30 am, changed last minute to 11 am when we have arrived they have changed it again to 10 AM. The tour was booked for 2 hours, but we were in the water 1.5 hours including the "boat jumping" when they couldn't explain us the right boat to board sines...they didn't speak English... All in all very typical Sicilian experience - the beauty of the place the cleanliness of the water and the gorgeous weather are masking the very laid back, almost to the point of half delivery, service. Extremely recommended taking a boat tour there! it was an amazing experience especially the swimming in the water. It doesn't matter which company, since by the looks of it all or perhaps most of them give the same service level. Just come prepare expecting delays, last-minute cancelations, lack of parking, nonexisting directions to a specific place, no one speaking English or Spanish and so on. I believe it adds to the local charm.

From start to finish this trip was fantastic! Gabriele was so helpful when he found out my mum was disabled. He changed our pick up point and even came and found us at the harbour. He kept me updated on the weather conditions realising that my mum and I were really nervous having been caught in some rather horrendous sailing conditions a couple of days prior on a different excursion. Everyone involved ensured that we were kept at ease. They turned the boat around for my mum so that she could get in easier and they made her feel very safe. The tour itself was brilliant. Firstly, I didn't read the bit that said it was a private tour, so that was an added bonus. Our skipper was really knowledgeable and passionate. I would recommend anyone to do this tour and thank you to all of you for making us feel so calm and welcome.

We booked a private boat trip with This company for our wedding anniversary. We had an amazing time and Gabrielle was a great tour guide as well as skipper. We really enjoyed the trip.Highly recommended

It has been the most amazing experience in my life. Everything was perfect. A beautiful boat and Antonio (the owner) was unbelievable gentleman. He showed us the most beautiful place of Taormina and while we were on the boat we met dolphins jumping and swimming very close to the boat. For my sons was amazing. I really suggest you.

O passeio foi péssimo, nos pegaram em uma praia e nos deixaram em outra bem diferente, literalmente não sabíamos onde estávamos, então, tivemos que desembolsar mais $50 para pagar um táxi que nos levou ao Porto de cruzeiros. Não cumpriram com o prometido. Tudo o que dizem que oferecem é balela, nada está incluído conforme anunciado no site. O condutor do barco foi super grosseiro conosco, longe de qualquer regra de boa educação e trato com o turista. Não indico esse passeio!

Very nice walk. It's worth it. We were caught in Taormina on the beach, then two hours walk with swimming. Recommended!

2-hour excursion. Walk along the coast of about 50 minutes then the skipper asks us if we want to swim, we answer in the affirmative. He's taking us off the coast of where we boarded. There, after the swim, we point out to him that we booked for 2 hours whereas he thinks for 1 hour only... We tell him, since there is still time, that we would like to go a little offshore in order to have a view of the coast. He refuses this is not foreseen in the tour. We are disappointed because for 50 minutes we did nothing... An hour would have been more than enough to see the caves.

It was a beautiful excursion along the entire coast of Taormina to Giardini Naxos. Sergio showed us some caves and explained all the curiosities of the place. We highly recommend it to everyone. Pietro and Daniela from Puglia!

We visited 3 different grottoes to which you are not allowed from the land. The view to Taormina and Isola Bella from the sea should be missed.
