Our private tour of the Neapolitan Archaeological Park in Syracuse was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The communication and information provided from the point of booking were clear and helpful, making everything easy and well organised. Enrica, our guide, was exceptional — her PhD-level knowledge showed throughout the tour. She used pictures and diagrams to help us visualise how the site once looked, bringing the ancient history vividly to life. Friendly, enthusiastic, and engaging throughout, Enrica willingly answered all our questions and made the entire morning a truly wonderful and memorable experience.

The Archeological Park is not to be missed. The Roman Theatre, the Arena, Dionysus Ear and the Hieron Altar are perfectly complimented by the wonderful Mitoraj sculptures. Enrica is both a knowledgeable archeologist and a wonderful tour guide. Thank you for an unforgettable day.
This merits a long visit. It's an archeological park which is Unesco site. There is a 16,000 seat Greek theatre where Gladiator spectacles took place. Also see the Paradise quarry-- a white limestone quarry filled with tunnels and caves. Your kids (if you bring them) will love how voices echo in the big cave. Some guides sing and it's lovely.
We did a half day tour with Enrica exploring the Archaeological Park of Syracuse as well as the island of Ortigia. Enrica’s knowledge and passion for these historical treasures made the tour even better than anticipated! Our teenage boys were in awe - learning about these remarkable cities and ruins from someone with a PHD in Archaeology! Not only is Enrica’s education and knowledge impressive, she is also animated, kind and engaging. Simply put, you will not regret booking a tour with Enrica - a must if you are interested in the storied history of these beautiful cities and its people. Grazie Enrica!
We had a wonderful tour of the Neapolis this morning with Enrica. She is very knowledgeable and very interesting. We enjoyed spending time with her and learning so much about the Greek and Roman periods in Siracusa. Fantastic time!
My wife and I had a really great tour with Enrica through the Archaeological Park of Syracuse and also of Ortigia. Syracuse is, like many places, much, much more interesting when toured with a guide. Our guide in Syracuse was Enrica and we were really glad it was. Enrica is obviously passionate about her city and has the benefit of being academically qualified to fully inform her customers of this beautiful and fascinating city.
We booked Enrica for a tour of the Archaeological Park and highlights of Ortigia and had a wonderful time. There are limited information posts in the Park and Siracusa's history is so complex. It was extremely helpful to have Enrica explain the history and significance of each monument and to point out things we would have otherwise missed such as inscriptions in the Greek theater and what things were overall (some of the items have deteriorated significantly over time and it is hard to make out). Enrica is very friendly and has a deep understanding of the history of Siracusa. She also took us to have the best meal we had in Sicily, we both got pasta and it was out of this world. We kept trying to find a similar place afterwards but to no avail. She took us around at a comfortable pace and helped us to take pictures and pointed out things we may be interested in or need (the market and which place to try there as well).
A step back in time of the Greeks, really interesting, carried out with a guide, with very exhaustive explanations, definitely to be done.
Thanks Enrica! His expertise, passion, friendliness and ability to take us into the history and archeology of Syracuse enriched our visit and made it truly complete. All this will allow us to carry with us, for a long time, the magic and spectacularity of this splendid city.
Choosing the excursions proposed by Enrica De Melio of Viaggio a Sud Est was a unique experience, a gentle immersion in Magna Graecia, in the enthusiasm and preparation of a tour guide who is also a passionate archaeologist.
Actually my wife and I matched the visit to Neapolis (morning) and Ortigia (afternoon). We liked the CV of Enrica, a busy "in the trenches" as an archaeologist. And in fact, having a precise and punctual guide and with considerable ability to synthesise (in addition to the enthusiasm of those who do research, therefore have strong motivations) completely changes your vision: those that, for a hasty observer, risk remaining as "heaps of stones" become what they really are: precious objects with 3000 years of history. A whole other level that, in a beautiful city like Syracuse, becomes unmissable.
We booked several experiences with Enrica thanks to the reviews read and we were not disappointed. We spent two very pleasant days in the company of a passionate and very prepared expert guide and archaeologist. Thanks to her we have enjoyed and loved all the places we have lived together. The beauties of Sicily are certainly known but alone it is not the same thing. I recommend visits to Noto, Syracuse, Vendicari Reserve and the villa of Tellaro.
Enrica She was very professional, friendly and helpful. The guided tour of the archaeological area is absolutely recommended. With Erica you can appreciate in every detail the Greek and Roman Syracuse.
Fantastic experience we had with our guide Enrica, with the tour of the Archaeological Park of Neapolis of Syracuse. A great passion, dedication and preparation in explaining in detail every aspect of the Park. It was a great fortune to be accompanied by an experienced guide like you. Highly recommended.
A great passion in telling the story, it is unthinkable to visit such an interesting site without an expert guide thanks to
Enrica is very prepared and really knows how to involve you in a journey through history. With professionalism and sympathy it helps you to immerse yourself in the place making you take a real journey through the centuries. You can see that she is animated by great passion, which she manages to convey with a beautiful smile. Highly recommended
The preparation, enthusiasm, availability, organizational support of Enrica have made this tour one of the most significant experiences of our trip to Sicily. The visit of Neapolis and Ortigia was enriched by clear explanations and suggestions that allowed us to better appreciate what presented itself to the view. We did three guided tours in Sicily, Enrica was the only one to give us the receipt. We will definitely choose it for our next visits in the area.
Not only the tour of Noto, but also The Archaeological Park of Neapolis and the tour of Ortigia! Competent, smiling, pleasant and fun... what more could you want from a guide! Great choice to recommend to those who want to participate in one of these guided tours
