Special Tour: Etna, Savoca And Taormina With Luxury Van

Our Godfather Tour with Sicily Best Tours was absolutely outstanding from start to finish! Of all the excursions we experienced during our 7-day Mediterranean cruise, this was by far our favorite! Booking was incredibly easy, and communication with Filippo was excellent throughout the entire process. On the day of our tour, our guide contacted us ahead of time with clear meeting instructions, making pickup completely stress-free. Sonia, our guide, and Francesco, our driver, were absolutely amazing! They were knowledgeable, funny, personable, and genuinely passionate about Sicily. Spending the day with them felt like exploring with old friends who were excited to share everything they knew and loved about their beautiful country. Our luxury van was immaculate, comfortable, and spacious, with plenty of room for all six passengers. Sonia thoughtfully offered us water, and both she and Francesco made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the day. What meant the most to me was how wonderfully they treated my 81-year-old mother, who uses a rollator. They were incredibly patient, attentive, and kind, making sure she felt comfortable and included. Their genuine concern for her well-being touched my heart and made the experience even more special. Exploring Savoca was magical! Sonia shared fascinating stories about the filming of The Godfather, along with the history and culture of Sicily. She knew many of the local shop owners, which gave the experience such a wonderful personal touch. In Taormina, we had plenty of time to explore, shop, and enjoy lunch independently. But what impressed me most was that they didn’t simply drop us off and leave us on our own. Sonia provided detailed pictures and directions to help us navigate the area. They were punctual, easy to reach by text, and always available when needed. We experienced several excursions during our cruise, but Sonia and Francesco were head and shoulders above every other guide and driver we encountered. Their professionalism, warmth, humor, attention to detail, and genuine kindness made this day unforgettable. I cannot recommend Sicily Best Tours highly enough! If you’re considering a Godfather Tour of Savoca and Taormina, book with them. And if you’re lucky enough to have Sonia and Francesco, you’re in for a truly wonderful experience! Sonia was SO accommodating, my husband wasn't feeling well so I went by myself. She was so understanding. And knew so much about Sicily and the area we were in. We went to Mt Etna and the surrounding area. Her husband was the driver and a skilled one at that. I had one of the best " rice cones" of all time. Filled with Rice, meat sauce and Mozzarella cheese. She even stopped at the pharmacy to get something for my husband. YOU were awesome Sonia and so was your husband. And she speaks perfect English! What a TREAT!Thanks for giving me a tour that I will never forget. 😁😁👍

Filippo is an outstanding professional, polite, reliable and truly helpful. Within the framework of the Erasmus program, he arranged our transfer from Catania Airport to Messina smoothly and efficiently. We also booked a tour with him to Mount Etna, Taormina and Savoca, which was an excellent experience. He was always punctual, friendly and very informative, making sure everything was well organized and enjoyable. I highly recommend his services.

Our tour guide, Sonia was outstanding. Her driver was excellent. She customized the tour to meet our needs and offered excellent advice. The parts of Sicily we visited were beautiful! Definitely want to return. The only complaint I had, which hasn’t nothing to do with Sonia who I can’t emphasize enough was amazing, was that the seats in the van that faced back were an issue. A few in our group got car sick in the bumpy windy roads. Facing the back I couldn’t appreciate the scenery. Definite fail. Would definitely use Sonia again, but in a different vehicle.

This private tour was terrific. Sonja and Giancarlo (our driver) were accommodating guides making the day a great experience. We were picked up in a comfortable van, on time at the cruise ship and returned to the ship with time to spare. Throughout the day they asked us where we wanted to stop and guided us with allotted time frames so we could accomplish everything we wanted to see and do. Sonja was knowledgeable, professional and a joy to spend the day with. We went to the small town( Savoca) where part of The Godfather was filmed (now I will have to watch the movie again!). Also, if you are going to Mount Etna I would suggest a coat! I would definitely suggest this tour!

Sonja & Giancarlo were terrific guides on a real fun tour. They picked us up on time & were at each stop on time. We had plenty of time without getting rushed along. Back at the dock with time to spare. We shared stories & chatted thru the day. They were professional & enjoyable, couldn't ask for a better team. The stops were good, beautiful places with lots of history. Definitely a tour to take part in.

Filipino and Erika were great! We were able to see so much and learn about the history and stories of Sicily from Erika while Filipino navigated the narrow streets. The tour made the most of our time at shore in the comfort of a luxury van.

The Etna, Taormina, and Savoca tour is absolutely wonderful, with breathtaking scenery and unforgettable places. Our tour with Sonia was fabulous. First of all there is nothing better than a private tour instead of the bus tours the cruises offer. No comparison and the difference in price you make up for in comfort and time saving. You can skip what you don’t want to see add what you do want. Sonia was a fabulous guide. Very interesting and informative not long winded and boring like others we have experienced. Wonderful to have a cold vehicle waiting for you especially exploring when it was so hot. The driver was top notch. Safe and had a great personality too. Etna was beautiful. Fun area to explore. It was crazy windy the day we went but that was even enjoyable after all the heat through out our journey. Taormina is charming and unspoiled I hope it stays that way. A warm welcome after Rome. Absolutely beautiful area. We all really enjoyed this excursion and highly recommend it. For those of you worried about missing the boat. Don’t they took into consideration the entire trip the time we needed to be back without rushing any of the experience.

Sicily Best tours did not disappoint! We were a group of 5 adults and had Sonia as our guide. We visited Mt. Etna, Taormina and Savoca. Sonia was exceptional. As a cruise passenger we had specific time requirements which she managed beautifully. Sicily is stunning and experiencing it in a private van with a guide was the perfect day for us!

Our day exploring Etna, Taormina, and Savoca with Filippo and Erika was beyond expectations! The luxury van was the perfect way to travel in style and comfort. Filippo navigated the winding roads with ease, and Erika’s stories and knowledge brought so much depth to the experience. Each stop offered something unique — the raw beauty of Etna, the elegance of Taormina, and the historic charm of Savoca. It was an impeccably organized tour, and we loved every minute of it!

My husband and I took Tour 5, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time visiting Mount Etna, Taormina, Savoca and Messina with our guide, Erika, and driver, Franco. Erika grew up in Messina, so she was able to share so much more with us about the history of the area, as well as some of her own personal experiences. Her storytelling added a lot to the overall tour, and we really appreciated that. Franco was an excellent driver, and we felt very safe with him and his ability to maneuver - a true gift on those roads! The two of them timed each stop perfectly so that we avoided all the crowds, helping to make this the best day of site seeing we had on our 14-day vacation!

A group of us cruised Italy in October and six of us opted for this private tour of Sicily. I was so glad we did. We were met promptly at the cruise port by both a driver and a guide. They were very knowledgeable of the area and even brought us cannoli.

During our port stop in Messina, we took Tour 5 with Fillipo. He was very gracious and informative, and took us to many historical sites during our visit that we never would have been able to see had we utilized the ships excursions. And I doubt they would have provided the absolutely delicious cannoli that Fillipo had for us!
