Very pleasant welcome by the owner Teresa, a warm and friendly lady who immediately makes you feel at home. When we arrived, everything was nicely prepared, and we received clear explanations about the different types of flour to use for various pastas. Teresa showed us clearly with step-by-step instructions how to make 3 types of pasta and matching sauces, using fresh ingredients. A really fun and educational activity to do with the family (49-48-22-18), and after the preparation, it was cozy to enjoy the dishes together with a glass of wine in the garden.

From October 20th for the whole winter, classes with up to five participants will be in an apartment in Syracuse (Corso Gelone 36). Teresa, born and raised in Syracuse, shares her family recipes and the authentic flavors of Sicilian cuisine. During this hands-on experience, you will prepare three different shapes of fresh pasta from scratch (and three local sauces) using local flour, fresh eggs, and seasonal ingredients. If there are any ingredients you don't like or prefer to avoid, please let Teresa know when you book. You will discover local ingredients, traditional and easy techniques and the secrets of Sicilian home cooking — just like cooking together in a family. Dopo cucinare, rilassati e goditi un bicchiere di vino locale e l'autentica ospitalità siciliana. You can also add a guided visit to the Ortigia Market, at an extra cost of €50 per person, payable in cash. If you are looking for a truly local experience, where you can cook, share and feel at home, this is the perfect way to experience Sicily. Looking for a place to stay in Ortigia? Teresa recommends "Casa Veneto Sea View" on Via Vittorio Veneto 197 — a comfortable, welcoming apartment.Ask Teresa for information.

My family and I had a one-of-a-kind experience with Teresa. A cooking class where we learned to make fresh pasta, including Ricotta stuffed ravioli and cavatelli. We also made traditional eggplant parmagiana, and a delicious almond cream/coffee tiramisu. We learned about traditional Sicilian cooking with fresh ingredients, including a ragu and tomato pesto sauce. Everything was fresh. Teresa is charming and warm. She was also very patient and taught us a lot about traditional Sicilian cooking. We cannot say enough about this amazing experience. She is absolutely highly recommended by us.
A delightful experience. Theresa and her house were charming. Making the pastas, sauces, and other dishes was fun. Not a lot of cooking experience required. All delicious. Recipes to take home and easy to make.

Our cooking class with Teresa was one of the highlights of our recent Mediterranean cruise!! The food was authentic, delicious and the instructions easy to follow. Teresa even sent us home with the recipes. I highly recommend even if you are only in town for a few hours!
Teresa did an amazing cooking experience for our family with 2 types of pasta, delicious caponata and absolutely fantastic tiramisu!!! So close from Ortega, wonderful hospitality, and relaxing afternoon in her backyard.
Amazing amazing amazing experience! I went with my friends for a birthday celebration and everything was perfect. She arranged for a taxi service to come pick us up and drop us off we made an appetizer, fresh pasta, pizza and dessert. She provided wine bottles and extra bruschetta! Would definitely come back. Very pleasant
Teresa, was truly the best. We made cavatelli with ragu, pizza, and peach fig tiramisu. She catered the menu to meet our groups allergies. She is very clean and fun. At the same time she is very knowledgeable about cooking. Her English is fabulous. The cooking lesson is really organized and her backyard is such a beautiful set up. She provides amazing wine and coffee. So much food you will probably have leftovers too. It’s a really fun group activity. Only 15-20 mins from Ortigia and she organizes the transportation. Teresa sources her ingredients from the local market. Only the best ingredients. The cherries and peaches were so fresh.
The most amazing experience!!!! Teresa is so kind and welcoming. She explained everything we were making and going to eat with such careful and thoughtful detail. She is so sweet and wonderful! Not to mention we made the most delicious two pastas, pizza, and a peach cake and it was some of the best I’ve ever had. The ingredients were so fresh and this was SO fun. We got wine and coffee as well!!! If you’re considering booking this while in Sicily- must do!!!!!!!
Incredible time cooking with Teresa. She was so welcoming and we had so much much fun cooking with her. She taught us so much! We cant stop smiling.
Such a great experience learning to make fresh pasta with Teresa! Lots of local ingredients and Teresa was a great teacher and made it fun for all. Highly recommend!
My family and I enjoyed a cooking lesson with Theresa. We made pasta, a pizza, and arancini. Theresa was great, patiently showing my kids (who had limited cooking experience) how to make the dough and from the pasta. We all learned so much about Sicilian cooking with her. We had the lesson at Theresa’s house, which was perfect. It was easy to find and provides a great space for us to learn. We would definitely encourage anyone visiting Siracusa or Ortigia to take a class and recommend Theresa - it was a great experience!
An absolutely amazing experience. Made a beautiful Sicilian dish from scratch. Start to finish. Teresa is so kind and very welcoming. Can’t wait to schedule another class!
Fantastic experience! The Sicilian cooking class with Teresa was a true journey through the flavors and traditions of the island. Teresa is a passionate and knowledgeable teacher, guiding us with patience and warmth through the preparation of authentic dishes like pasta alla norma, sicilian anellini, and tiramisù. The use of fresh, local ingredients made everything even more special. We learned a lot and had a great time cooking. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to discover true Sicilian cuisine, with all its unique colors and flavors.

Theresa was an excellent hostess! The setting was very peaceful as we learned to make pasta and different sauces. We had a blast!! Quite delicious!
It was a wonderful experience with Teresa. She took us around Ortiga Market and taught us how to cook many different things homemade, and provided us with a recipe book. Teresa was incredibly kind and we will definitely make the food back at home in the states. Thank you, Teresa!
Such a great experience and welcoming environment! Felt like I was cooking with my Nonna :) Food was to die for! I’ve never tasted something so fresh and delicious! The perfect menu: Busiate with Sicilian pesto Arancine with ragù Tiramisù
My family and I attended this cooking class and it was a delightful experience. The dishes we prepared were absolutely yummy, and Teresa, the professor cook & owner of the house, was super sweet and attentive. Her guidance and friendly demeanor made the class both enjoyable and educational. Highly recommended!
We had the best time learning how to make 2 types of pasta, an appetizer and Tiramisu. Teresa is patient and kind. Totally recommend if your children are older and interested in learning and trying new things. We had a great family experience.
What a wonderful morning cooking with Teresa in her garden and kitchen outside of Syracuse. Our teenagers were totally engaged and we all learned a lot and really enjoyed the delicious meal we had made- spinach and ricotta ravioli, amazing breaded fried cauliflower and the best cannoli ever!
Wonderful experience learning 3 Sicilian recipes chosen by my husband and I. It was a wonderful experience! She welcomed us in with open arms and made it fun.
A special experience in Teresa's kitchen and garden. My wife and I made a delicious tuna ravioli with tuna tartare beforehand and a strawberry desert after. Everything with fresh products we got at the Siracusa market and with fresh herbs from Teresa’s herb garden. If you are ever in Siracusa this cooking workshop is highly recommended.
Teresa has cooked with us various pasta varieties and sauces. We ate in the garden afterwards. Their instructions were clear and understandable. We recommend this experience.
Thank you Teresa, I spent a wonderful culinary day, learned a lot of craftsmanship, Teresa is an excellent teacher, the homemade pasta and ravioli with the"polpo".. Octapuses were excellent and the dessert excellent, a biscuit roll filled with pistachios and "ricotta". A characteristic Sicilian menu, wonderful!! Teresa is extremely hospitable and her beautiful house cozy and welcoming.
