DO NOT BOOK THIS!! We book many tours and this is the only tour I would not recommend. This was not a cooking class, it was a demonstration in a personal home of a person without a “gourmet kitchen” ( also multiple cats walking around on the table where the food was prepared and served ) . There was also no “visit to a market” or tour. Food was subpar at best.

My daughter and I had such a lovely experience with our host, Patrizia! She was warm and welcoming and full of energy. She taught us how to make beautiful tasty pasta, Sicilian pesto, caponata and a traditional dessert! The meal, wine and company was something we will never forget!
We did Sicilian cooking class with Lidia, she was amazing. Very patient, explained & showed us techniques how to make arancini, Sicilian pasta & cannolis with great group & sense humour. Thank you for fun day!!!
Patricia is amazing. You will not regret taking this class and spending a few hours with her. Our family enjoyed all we learned about Sicilian cooking but also talking about culture and people and traditions. The food was excellent as was the snacking along the way. I think we could have spent many more hours just chatting with her. A great Sicilian experience!
This trip was fabulous! The experience was incredible and the food was delicious. The hostess shared her home and love of cooking with us. Definitely would recommend! Patricia is friendly and welcoming.
I felt so welcomed from the very beginning. As a solo traveler it very good to be received well. The trip to the market was as informative as the class. I would highly recommend. I can't wait to share these dishes with my family.
Patrizia creates a warm friendly environment for all her guests. The food was amazing and comforting. After traveling for weeks, it felt so good to be taken care of as welcomed guests in her home as we learned how to cook authentic Sicilian food. She is a true joy. Time with Patrizia was one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend!
Since it was a holiday, Patrizia offered to conduct the class at her home in S Stefano Di Camastra, which is a hour train ride from Palermo. Patrizia has a beautiful home in the hills, with views of sea & mountains. She was kind to pick me from the train station. We made a unique pesto with almonds (instead of pine nuts), eggplant caponata & Involtini di carne (sliced beef rolls with fillling), all of which were amazing. Patrizia made the process of cooking very easy, and also showed how to retain the original taste & texture, which is essence of Sicilian cooking. She served locally made wine which was unique & paired well with the meal. Thanks to Patrizia for being a wonderful host, culinary instructor & conversationalist. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience & highly recommend.
Had a fantastic time with Patrizia learning about traditional Sicilian cuisine. We started the morning off gathering ingredients at a local market and got right into preparing a delicious four course meal in the home of our host. Can’t miss an experience like this one, great food and even better people.
Patrizia was an amazing instructor! So patient and so kind! We would go back everyday if we could!! If you have the chance, you should take her class and buy her cookbook!
Shopping in the market to learn how to select vegetables and fish for our class. The anti pasta the olives, bread and wine. The entire experience was exceptional
We could not have chosen a better way to start our Sicilian adventure. We met Patrizia at the market and we set off together through stall after stall loaded with wonderful fresh produce with Patrizia explaining her preferences and her choices. It was wonderful to have such a knowledgeable guide. Then back to her beautiful apartment opposite the Cathedral where Patrizia welcomed us warmly and mapped out a 4 course meal from all the amazing ingredients we bought and coached us through its preparation - while enjoying some excellent Sicilian wine and cheese of course. Patrizia is engaging, generous and understandably proud of her Sicilian heritage and cuisine and gives a wonderful education in both, culminating in a simple but delicious meal in a most welcoming, artistically beautiful home. We highly recommend this wonderful experience.
My daughter and I booked the cooking class in Palermo with Patrizia last week and had such a wonderful time! I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and delicious break from site seeing. We met Patrizia and walked to the AMAZING market to pick our fresh seafood and dinner ingredients. The market was phenomenal, so much fresh seafood. We picked from what was in season and then casually walked back to Patrizia's charming place. We drank wine, ate cheese and made swordfish rolls, fresh pesto pasta, delicious artichokes and a sweet dessert with a Limoncello chaser (whatch out for that one!). Patrizia was such a great hostess, we had such a lovely time and agreed this was the best meal we had in Rome/Palermo. It was so fresh and so delicious! The experience was one we will not soon forget, I cannot recommend it more highly. Thank you Patrizia!
Definitely a five star rating. Fantastic host, amazing food and topped off with a great group of participants . Definitely recommend
A delightful stroll thru the market to purchase our meal ingredients, watched a fish monger carve the fish and watched our chef haggle for the fresher veggies. Patricia welcomed us into her home, and together we prepared a wonderful Sicilian feast. Felt like friends around the table chatting and enjoying delicious food. Definitely do this!
Thank you Patrizia for the hospitality! This is a fun way to see the markets and learn how to make Sicilian food. Will definitely do this again
Fantastic experience. Market visit was lovely, beautiful to see. Patricia was a generous host, her house was gorgeous and the food was both easy to make and delicious to eat. Thoroughly recommend
We had the best day with Patrizia! This turned out to be one of our best experiences in Palermo! My husband is 3/4 Sicilian and we chose this class specifically for Sicilian recipes. We loved the experience, the food and the wine! Patrizia made us feel right at home in her apartment and was the perfect host! Can't wait to go back! PS...buy the cookbook! We did, and we're slowly making our way through all the recipes.
My wife and I totally enjoyed meeting our guide and instructor, Patricia. She was warm and welcoming into her Palermo home for a light hearted class on her terrace for Sicilian dishes.
The wonderful chef who shopped for ingredients at the Market and taught me how to cook them. I was a solo traveler and Patrizia made me feeL right at home. A beautiful covered balcony where we cooked and drank Sicilian wine. I am preparing my own Sicilian meal in my home from her cookbook, Seriously Sicilian. I love it and it is a beautiful book. I highly recommend this adventure. ,
Patrizia was a great host for this cooking class! I recommend booking the morning time slots because the market is open and the food is fresh. Going to the market and purchasing the ingredients for the meal is part of the experience you don't want to miss! The class was very informative, also very relaxed and enjoyable. The food was outstanding!
This was an amazing experience! Up to this point, we had a definite preference for Tuscan food and really thought we were not going to enjoy this (we signed up before coming to Sicily and eating some Sicilian food). Not only did Patrizia teach us about the food and help us make an amazing meal, she helped us understand the mix of flavors that - when cooked right - makes the food so wonderful. She is a great teacher and wonderful cook. Make sure you buy her cookbook too. I quit collecting cookbooks as I did in my younger years because you can find so much on the internet but her recipes are truly special. She doesn't push you to buy anything at all but because we love to cook, we wanted to. It is truly the highlight of this trip to Italy,
Patrizia was a perfect hostess. After a lovely walk through one of the markets to pick up needed ingredients, we were made comfortable on a lovely terrace overlooking the Cathedral for some cheese and wine. Making the pasta was super fun, and each course we prepared was fantastic. This was just a great way to spend a few hours in Palermo. Highly recommended!
Patrizia was a wonderful guide and teacher! Great walking through the Capo market and gathering our ingredients! Pasta! Pesto! Fish! Eggplants! Pears! Wine! All combined to make spectacular dishes! Recommended for foodies and chefs! I went as solo, group was great!
This was the most AMAZING experience i had in Italy. Worth every penny. Patrizia - born and raised in Palermo - taught us so much about Sicilian cooking and opened her home and her heart to us. From the aperitif and wine and cheese pairings - to the market trip and all the cooking we did from scratch - I learned SO MUCH - bought her cookbook and can’t wait to try all the recipes! Grazie Patrizia!
Was definitely one of the highlights of my Sicilian tour. Great that we got to shop the markets for the local ingredients prior to the cooking class. We cooked up some of the local specialities - Busiati al Pesto Trapanese followed by Involtini de Pesce Spada with Caponata and Patrizia even made me mine eggplant free as I can’t eat eggplant. Pear tart finished off the meal perfectly. Best meal I had in Palermo and Patricia is an excellent host & teacher. Would thoroughly recommend this for foodies.
It was incredibly interesting! It was a very friendly environment. It was very interesting to learn how to cook something new. So many interesting things to learn! It was a wonderful experience.
Enjoyed every aspect of this experience from picking the ingredients at the market we would need to create our dishes to experiencing the locale cuisine and culture with chef Patricia in her home where we made our creations. Would highly recommend this, very hands on experience and it was just my wife and I so very fun…especially the wine as we worked through our dishes.
Very good experience with a good host. Very nice to get a feel for the local cuisine and cooking skills. Always enjoy meeting other travelers as well
We had the best time spending the evening with Patrizia! She was so welcoming! She had cheeses, olives, and wines for us to taste while we cooked multiple dishes. She even has her own cook book, so we’re excited to try to recreate the foods we made at home. She is a wonderful host and we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Palermo!
Patricia came highly recommended by a family friend working in Palermo. From the very start, when we met at the Capo market, Patricia and us hit it off splendidly. She is a great guide as well as a cook and historian. Going through the market and buying our ingredients was a pleasure when accompanied by her. Nothing was a problem but a choice for a delicious lunch. We settled on fresh tuna with caponata, pasta with red pesto and cassata cake for dessert. Preparation was an easy banter seemingly totally effortless and just a great conversation with an incredibly personable woman with experience and attention to detail in everything! Three bottles of local wine were tasted with ease and everything was simply delicious and very tasty. With just the two of us, it was like having lunch with a good friend. Highly recommend this Sicilian experience with Patricia!!!
My husband and I had a wonderful experience learning and cooking with Patrizia! She was so kind and welcoming to us into her home. It was fun going to the Capo Market together to pick up the ingredients beforehand. All of the food was delicious, and we look forward to recreating the recipes when we return home to the US (California). My husband and I are very grateful for this unique and memorable experience. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Palermo that enjoys cooking. We look forward to buying Patrizia’s cook book when it becomes available! Grazie mille, Patrizia!
On September 26 2019, my wife Nancy and I, along with the couple we were travelling with through Southern Italy and Sicily, spent a wonderful day attending the Siciliandays Palermo cooking run by Patrizia. I would say that this was one of our best experiences on our three-week tour and it was a lot of fun. Italy and Sicily are full of historical and natural sites of great interest and beauty but where they really excel is with food, wine and hospitality. Patrizia was a knowledgeable and witty host. We were all involved in the food preparation and I, with great joy, was able to select the wines for the day from her well-chosen Sicilian wine selection. We all finished the day better educated on Sicilian food and wine (don’t mention the Arancini War) and well fed. If you are in Palermo, consider experiencing a home cooked meal with Siciliandays. I believe you will enjoy it and have a wonderful memory to take home with you. Anthony Burke
The mother/daughter team from Sicilandays were amazing. They were friendly and informative, greeting us with wine, bread, olives, nuts, and cool water, and walking us through the entire multi-dish cooking experience. They were very experienced with both cooking and teaching, and we had an absolutely fantastic time. We made multiple delicious dishes - Eggplant caponata, Sicilian beef rolls, pasta with fresh tomato, basil, and almond sauce, and a cinnamon stove-top custard. It was some of the best food i had on the trip, and the fact that we made it was an additional source of appreciation. They also had this amazing homemade limoncello. Some of the best i had in the entire trip, and I tried the local variety everywhere we went. Honestly, I am so thrilled that my family and I made this happen. And I want to note that SicilianDays went out of their way to alter their normal schedule so that we could make our travel plans (we had a ferry to catch at 8pm). This activity, and these fantastic people, will forever more be my top recommendation for anyone travelling to Sicily. Do yourself a favour and make time to cook with SicilianDays.
Patrizia was a wonderful teacher. I really enjoyed learning about the historical and cultural context of the recipes we made. The kitchen was gorgeous, and the added extras like the wine and cheeses were really lovely. The market tour was enjoyable as well. I loved hearing about Sicily and its land and history. Very excited to return.
Although the initial trip through the market was lacking some involvement from the guests we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! STILL 5 STAR THOUGH as the food was AMAZING and we got to join in with the cooking and drink wine as we go along with cheese etc. sourced from their own farm, as are a lot of their ingredients. They are very warm and friendly and we had a really great time, thank you for having us! They also send through the recipe afterwards if you want them and have their own cookbook which I hope to buy once available as they are honestly excellent cooks.
The cooking class was great! I really enjoyed it and it improved my confidence with Sicilian cooking.
A little overpriced, but had a great day. Food and knowledge was amazing. Used local ingredients and very convenient location
We had the BEST time during the cooking class! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. We got to shop at the local market to pick out fresh ingredients, then assist in all the prep work. We were also provided with local bread, olive oil, wine, and olives to snack on while we cooked. My husband and I made some new friends on our trip who joined us for the cooking class. Total there were 6 of us, and it was the perfect number of people. This class was probably the best thing we did during our vacation. We learned quite a few tips and tricks, plus the food we prepared was amazing. If we go back, we're definitely doing a class again with Sicilian Days! They also have a website for more cooking class options.
My mom and I took the cooking class with Patrizia a few weeks ago and it was such an amazing experience! Patrizia was a great instructor - Teaching us about Sicilian cooking traditions and methods, having us participate in the cooking process, but also allowing us to relax and enjoy some wine and cheese while we prepped the food! The food was AMAZING! We will be making it again, specifically the Sicilian cake this Christmas! This was definitely the highlight of our stay in Palermo, and one of the highlights of our entire Italy vacation. Thank you Patrizia!
Patrizia was a great cooking hostess! She was very informative and had a great selection of food. The atmosphere was pretty amazing as well.
We visited Palermo in mid August. This was a wonderful day! We met Patrizia at Teatro Massimo to begin our cooking experience. We were a small group of 5 guests in total. We walked through Capo Market selecting our items for cooking. Then we went back to Patrizia's apartment which was a nice and comfortable air conditioned refuge from the heat. While there, we began cooking a traditional tomato sauce and caponata dish while tasting fantastic wines and cheese varieties. We continued wth making a traditional swordfish dish and ricotta cake for dessert. Patrizia was friendly and knowledgeable about our cooking as well as Palermo in general. She also catered to our dietary needs. She made our day an unforgettable experience in Palermo and gave us the recipes to try at home. Overall it was a fantastic experience that I highly recommend and one you won't forget!
Great food and very nice host. We started in the market and then went back to an apartment to cook and drink wine. Our group had six people.
We spent an awesome morning with Patrizia and learned a lot about traditional Sicilian cooking. The meeting point was in a central location and we started the class walking around the local markets, gathering the ingredients needed to prepare the days meal. Patrizia is very knowledgable and sweet and made us feel very comfortable cooking in her home. Above all else, the food was incredible: definitely one of our best and most memorable meals in Sicily. Thanks Patrizia!! Allison & John
We were two couples traveling through Sicily, and our wives wanted a cooking class. We booked this class for the two of them, and just a couple of days before asked if we, the husbands, could join the dinner with our the class. Patrizia was most accommodating and for a reasonable charge we were invited to join at dinnertime. We all met at the meeting point, and found that two people scheduled did not show. Patrizia invited us to come early and watch the preparations. He atmosphere was warm, friendly, and personal. The women prepped, cut, choppied, kneaded, and helped serve a splendid meal. We spent hours eating and chatting with this wonderful, warm, and talented host. Appetizers of cheeses, olives, bread followed with pasta with an incredible sauce, and a swordfish roll with rice and seasonings. Dessert as well, all accompanied by wine and topped off with lemon cello.
Patrizia’s market tour and cooking class was a highlight of my trip to Sicily. She took us through a tour of Palermo’s Capo market, stopping to pick up swordfish, eggplant, cheese, and other cooking supplies from the vendors. She then brought us to her apartment to begin cooking several classic Sicilian dishes. We had great wine and cheese the whole time while cooking, and then sat down to enjoy one of the best meals of our trip. I highly recommend Siciliandays for anyone looking to learn authentic Sicilian cooking techniques, taste delicious home-cooked food, and really immerse themselves in Sicilian culture.
What a great experience. We went to a market to buy the food and they hen to a lovely apartment in a quiet street in Palermo. I was the only guest so I got a first hand look at the fantastic cuisine that is Siciliano. Highly recommend
We met Patrizia at the steps of the Teatro Massimo on a gorgeous sunny September day. We really enjoyed walking through the market and stopping for a macchiato on route. There were just the two of us on the day so we had a really personal service and cooked (and drank) our way through the morning into the early afternoon. It was really nice to be introduced to some local dishes - which set us up well for the rest of our trip and meant we could look out for similar dishes at restaurants and food stalls.

This was a family event and we all had a great time. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating to our special dietary needs. We prepared a wonderful meal together and really enjoyed the whole experience.

Great instruction, great food, great company. I was in a small class there were only two students, but that made it even better because that meant we did more of the hands-on stuff and got to chat more. Ours was a fish-based meal, and I'm not much into fish, but it was delicious and really opened my eyes and taste-buds to new possibilities. I still have and use the recipes we made!
