Alesandra & Sophia P were excellent guides and instructors. The walk through the market to pick up our ingredients was exceptional. Can’t wait to make the recipes at home.

A great experience. A really enjoyable cooking class with a visit to the Fish Market. Alessandra was an informative guide who shared Catania’s history along the way, and a patient teacher.
What a wonderful experience! Alessandra began our day with a walk to the fish market and along the way she pointed out important historical features and shared the history of Catania. Once at the fish market, she purchased our ingredients and then we headed back to begin cooking. While we were cooking, we listened to Italian music as we learned important details of the food of Sicily. Our day ended with eating the delicious appetizer, main course and dessert. Alessandra was a fantastic tour guide and teacher and such a sweet person. ❤️ We took our cooking class on our last day in Catania, and I can't think of a better way to complete this amazing trip to Sicily. ❤️
This was a wonderful class. I went with my daughter and we both loved it. The walk through the fish market was incredible!
This experience wasn’t bad but also wasn’t great. We enjoyed the little tour of the city and the activity of making pasta. The table could have been bigger and didn’t love the restaurant setting. The worst part about his experience is that once we were served lunch our guide left. This left the restaurant staff who was inattentive to finish with us. We asked multiple times for glasses of wine and were not served . We ended up leaving without our dessert after asking for it for over 20 min. They also changed the time for our class this left us with less time to explore the city which we were looking forward too. Overall this is a fine activity. I probably wouldn’t recommend this specific one to someone.
Wonderful cooking class with a visit to the Fish Market! Alessandra was an informative guide and a patient teacher, and the location for the cooking class is a really cozy pasta restaurant.
We had a wonderful time! The guide was extremely friendly and professional. The experience was perfect.
It’s not a cooking class we didn’t cook anything which was so disappointing. We made pasta, cut up eggplant, tomato’s and onions and then it was all taken away and cooked elsewhere while we sat in the restaurant. It was also very apparent when we arrived the restaurant they were not expecting us. The tour guide was our “qualified chef” whilst she was very nice doubt she was a chef. Waste of time and money I still have no idea how to actually cook the meal we had. I was expecting to be in the kitchen with the chef to learn and see how our traditional Sicilian meal was cooked. No recipes was provided and we didn’t even get to know what the quantities were in the bowl for the flour etc to make the pasta. The market tour was interesting but we wanted a cooking class. Wouldn’t recommend if you want the full experience. So disappointed we were so looking forward to this experience.
Our guide/chef Alexandra was a great host. We enjoyed the walk through the old city centre to the market. We had lots of fun cooking our dishes, a great activity completed by 3 generations.
The tour of the market was great and the cooking class was a lot of fun! Our guide bought fresh ingredients from the market during the tour and the food tasted delicious.
The market visit and cooking class was great fun for our family, ranging from 11 to 45 years old. Our kids enjoyed getting their hands dirty and eating the fruits of their labor. We made bruschetta, pasta with eggplant and tomato sauce, and cannolis. Highly recommend!
We took a tour of the market and a cooking class in Catania my husband was definitely so Happy I will never forget his joy and forever grateful. They deserve 5 starts and more I tear up writing this review in gratitude it is a memory will cherish for a lifetime!
Class was so much fun. You get a package deal of some of the history of the city, a visit to the the amazing market and a hands on cooking class that includes eating the meal you created. It could not have been a better experience. We made ravioli, bruschetta and cannoli. The chef we worked with was charming and patient. If you ever wanted to take a cooking class this is the one to take!
This tour was amazing. I was so thankful that Sicilying ran this tour with only me. It's hard to find tours in catania if you are a solo traveler because at least 2 people are required. The tour was pretty in-depth and my guide, WONDERFUL! I had such a great time chatting with her and the folks at the restaurant we went to for the cooking class. Even the owner was so great. You'll start off with a walking tour in the Market, and you'll have an explanation of Catanias history, culture and then buy a few products while in the market. We made Pasta Alla Norma, Pistachio Tagliatella and Sweet Brioche with a lovely darkchocolate and ricotta filling. Thank you so much for the great time and food! I can't wait to make these for my husband!
This was a pleasant, nice and educational experience. Can definitely be recommended to anyone who wants to learn a bit about Catania and Sicilian cooking. Great and simple ingredients that resulted in an amazing taste.
We had a great time! First during the tour of the city and the market, where our guide told us anecdotes about their history and tasted local products, then during the cooking class. We had a private lesson in the kitchens of a restaurant, the chef was funny and kind. Finally, we were able to taste our preparations, ravioli and a cannolo, on the terrace. It was a great experience and one of the best memories of our stay.
