This was a great experience we had through Collette trip. Warm and welcoming upon arrival to a beautiful setting. They are gracious and the food was awesome. We were not rushed at all and enjoyed each course. Wine was served constantly during meal and courses were not rushed. We left our email address in a book and they sent us the receipes. What a nice ending to a very positive experience.

We had an incredible five course lunch paired with regional wines on a delightful patio which looked at Mt. Etna and the surrounding farmlands. Beautiful location and farm to table, local, traditional Sicilian fare.
Barbara and her two staff were fantastic! We had great food pairings with the wine, which were served with genuine hospitality. Felt like home rather than a business
A fanyastic experience. Barbara's cooking was amazing, the hospitality superb, and the stargazing extremely interesting.
What a lovely afternoon touring the vineyard. I was sitting on a bench taking off my shoes to get the pieces of volcanic ash out after hiking on Mt Etna and the bench toppled over. The ladies got me a bag of ice and wine for my slight injury.Followed by a delicious lunch including the best fruit salad I have ever had. Thanks so much for a terrific afternoon and for forwarding the recipes!
An incredible experience with Barbara and Angela. Amazing hospitality. Interesting and delicious food. Insights about local wines. I can't recommend this experience enough. If you care about food and wine, if you want to meet real Sicilians, then you must visit. Hike Etna in the morning (when it's cool) and spend the afternoon resting under the canopy at Barbara's home as you explore the local cuisine and wine.
Angela and Barbara and Rosita were fabulous hosts for our visit. Delicious and simple food where ingredients were local and the star! Lovely wine from the handsome grounds and a great way to visit Mt. Etna and then enjoy some home cooking.
What a fantastic experience with Barbara and Angela. The setting is beautiful and they are warm and gracious hosts. Our meal was perfection and the wine was a perfect compliment. It felt like we were dining with family. I encourage all and any to spend time here.
🌟✨ Had the most unforgettable dining experience at Barbara’s place in Sicily! 🍽️❤️ The authentic Sicilian flavors were out of this world! From the rich pasta dishes 🍝 to the mouthwatering desserts 🍰, every bite was a taste of tradition and love. The warm atmosphere and Barbara's hospitality made it even more special! 🏡💖 If you’re traveling to Sicily, this is a must-stop! You won't regret it! 🌍✈️ #SicilianDelight #FoodieAdventure #TravelGoals #Barbara'sPlace #AuthenticCuisine 🌿🍷
We had an amazing private lunch and wine tasting with Barbara and her team during our travels through Sicily last March. Barbara’s warm hospitality and knowledge of Sicilian wine culture was impressive. We loved the delicious, authentic, Sicilian food and wine served in Barbara’s cosy home. It was raining outside so we only saw the surrounding vineyards from her patio. I can imagine how wonderful it would be to walk through the vineyards and sample wine right there.
On our way back down from Mt Etna we stopped for lunch at Barbara’s. We didn’t really know what to expect but it was wonderful! Barbara is a delightful woman full of love and joy! We sat on her patio with a lovely view and ate our favorite meal from our 25 day trip to Italy. Every bit and bite was delicious! All of the ingredients are from her garden or locally sourced. Oh my goodness!!! From appetizers to soup to the main dishes and dessert. Fabulous! You can taste the love in her food! I highly recommend you treat yourself to this wonderful experience!!
Our lunch tasting with Barbara was a highlight of our week in Sicily. After touring the stark landscape of Mt Etna, we were treated to Barbara's lush and beautiful property for lunch. What a treat! From sampling different kinds of honey to wine pairings with five courses of food. Each dish was an education and reflection of the region; each different from anything we had tasted before. We can't wait to try her recipes at home to remind us of that lovely afternoon with a lovely and talented host. Thank you!
After an amazing hike through the foothills of Mount Etna, we drove past a herd of sheep to get to Barbara’s house, nestled next to a winery. Barbara was able to prepare us a meal from ingredients local to the neighborhood, including a ricotta from the flock of sheep we passed on the way in. Every course was accompanied by an Etna wine that blew the last one away. Barbara’s cooking was only outmatched by her hospitality. She even made a special plain pasta for our savage 10 year old son.
Lovely day visiting Barbara in on her beautiful mountainside retreat, learning to cook the Sicilian way in her outdoor kitchen and enjoying vineyard views with Etna wine. Highly recommended.
My wife, Ann-Marie, and I had a wonderful visit with Barbara at the vineyard in Milo. The tour of the vineyard and the incredible lunch were the highlight of our visit to Sicily. The multi-course meal and the pairings with local wines were excellent. The lodge and patio overlooking the farm is a beautiful and romantic setting. Barbara is a great cook and prepared a really tasty meal with many local ingredients. My grandparents were from the villages around Etna including Milo and this was a nice homecoming.
It was a wonderful experience; eating Sicillian food, learning about olive oil and wine production as well as seeing Mt Etna in the background of the vineyard. The food prepared were original Sicillian recipes that can be accommodated to any dietary restrictions - in our case we picked vegetarian. All courses tasted delectable! Both the red wine and the white wine tasted unique since they were grown on Mt Etna. In fact most ingredients used for everything came from Mt Etna. The scenery alongside was breathtaking and of course our host made us feel at home, adding all to an enjoyable and unforgettable experience. Thank you!!!
Our 4 course tasting lunch with local wine pairing was nothing short of excellent. The visit started with a tour of Barbara’s beautiful orchard and vineyard, an easy stroll where she shared her wealth of knowledge of the area and agriculture. The setting for the lunch was stellar - on her back patio overlooking the orchards and vineyards with an impeccably set table. Each course was light, fresh, completely homemade and the ingredients were locally sourced. The wine pairings were also perfect and available for bottle sale if desired. Most of all, Barbara was warm and engaging and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing - a wonderful way to spend an afternoon and learn about this beautiful area.
We did a tasting and lunch two years ago and came back this year for a cooking class, vineyard tour and a beautiful, delicious lunch which we helped prepare. The views are amazing, Barbara is amazing, so warm and inviting, we had a beautiful day at her home.
We had the most incredible lunch at Barbara's vineyard! She gave us a tour of the farm, and then served a lunch where none of the ingredients came from more than a mile away! Most she grew herself, and the recipes were her own. Most important were the love infused in the food! And of course the wines matched the menu perfectly! In the end, Barbara was family! She also has other options, like hiking, glamping, and Etna tours. She was the high point of our trip to Sicily!
The wine tasting experience far exceeded my expectations! Barbara is an excellent host and touring the vineyards increased my awareness of the differences in growing grapes on a mountain in Sicily surrounded in volcanic ash and how grapes are grown in California. The lunch she served was perfectly paired with very fine white and red wines. The food she prepared was incredible! Five courses and I left nothing on any of the platters. This experience was enhanced by the fact that I was the center of Barbara's attention and not part of a large group.
Wonderful private vineyard tour, wine tasting and cooking class on the slopes of Mt. Etna. Barbara is a warm, charming and knowledgeable host. The food was delicious, with a strong focus on local produce. The weather was perfect so we had lunch on the terrace with a magnificent view of the vines, Mt. Etna and the sea. This was the best part of our Italy trip so far. Do not hesitate to reserve.
We learned to cook arancini al ragu and Sicilian canoli with Barbara and her assistant on an outdoor kitchen on the side of Mt. Etna! I mean, it doesn't get much better than that! A foodie's dream-come-true, learning to prepare traditional foods in a dreamy setting--by far better than the movie Eat, Pray, Love. Barbara is extremely friendly, hospitable, fun, and always smiling and laughing. After our first meal, we walked down to the vineyards and happened to be there when they were harvesting grapes where we got a first hand view at how they're hand picked, and then hiked back up for meal two, cheeses, meats, bread, and more local cusine--and of course--more wine. Make sure when you visit to check out the glamping tent designed for bathroom breaks. Everything Barbara does is over-the-top excellent. If you visit Sicily, make sure to visit Barbara!!! An excellent experience!!!
Barbara has an amazing property, right off of a beautiful vineyard with Mt. Etna in the background, incredibly picturesque. The food made was incredible, one of the best meals I have had in my life. Every ingredient incredibly fresh. They were able to cater to vegetarians too! The wine was so good. I didn’t think I liked Italian wine but turns out Mt. Etna changed my mind. The soils of Mt. Etna grow some amazing grapes. Barbara is a sweetheart and we loves talking to her and getting a tour of the local vineyard.
We had such a lovely time at Barbara's vineyard and learned so much about the growing of grapes on Mt. Etna. The 2 wines we tried were wonderful and went so well with our lunch. It was definitely a wonderful experience in food and culture.
We had a wonderful time walking thru the vineyards and enjoying a gorgeous tasting and pranzo on Barbara's terrace. A truly warm, yet exclusive experience. Couldn't recommend it more.
Barbara Liuzzo is incredible, so positive, lively and informative. My husband and I had arranged a tour and tasting of Benanti vineyards with Get Your Etna, and between the rain, fog and Etna ash, it wasn't possible to go into the vineyards and do our plan. But Barbara made the very best of the situation, inviting us into her home, cooking for us and tasting two small producer wines that were probably the best I had during my entire 2 weeks in Sicily! We learned a lot about not only wine, but the marriage of food and wine which is so important in Italy. We are looking forward to returning to Sicily in the future, and would definitely connect with Barbara and Get Your Etna for another Etna experience. Highly recommended!
My husband and I just returned from two weeks in Sicily. Our travel consultant arranged the trip and set up what she told us was a "wine tasting/lunch" near Mt Etna. We didn't know what to expect, but having worked with that travel consultant several times, we were confident it would be great. And it turned out to be way more than great - it was fabulous. We met our host, Barbara, at the gates of the vineyard and walked through it with her, talking about wine making in that vineyard and on the slopes of Mt Etna. The location and views were spectacular. Then she led us to a lovely property next-door to the winery - and it turned out to be Barbara's home!! She had set up a table for two on her gorgeous patio and then served us a multi-course lunch, all home-cooked herself. (We learned later that she runs a cooking school there.) She served us so may different dishes, all of which were wonderful, and she spent time talking to us and answering all our questions on every topic. It was a wonderful lunch in a beautiful setting, filled with great conversation with Barbara. We'll never forget our afternoon with Barbara - and we've already exchanged emails after arriving home. Mille Grazie Barbara!!!!
We had a lovely lunch at Barbara’s place after a tour around Mt. Etna. She couldn’t be more welcoming. She really went above and beyond to serve us (just the two of us!) an excellent meal in a stunning location above the village Milo with great views onto the sea and neighbouring vineyards. She was also very knowledgable about the wines of the area and the wine she chose for us went really well with the meal and the mood of the day. All in all an outstanding experience you shouldn’t miss. Also ask her about places to dine in the area. Her tips were absolutely spot on!
After a fabulous guided bike tour up Mt Etna, to the ski station, we returned to Milo for a delicious lunch. Barbara prepared a superb selection, all from her garden. With local meats and cheeses added. The setting was just wonderful and we fully enjoyed everything. We highly recommend this treat. Thank you, Barbara ❤️❤️
When we booked this experience, we were expecting to be members of a modest sized group, and I suppose a mental picture of what to expect from some of the photographs. We had some contact from the hostess, Barbara, regarding allergies, etc and then on the day, we were given the precise location and directions. It was a little tricky to find it, even though, but it was so worth persevering! The house, the grounds and the environment were stunning and the hostess and host were so warm and welcoming. It transpired that we were the only guests and so this was to be a delightful private dining and wining experience. Barbara and Amilcare were just such a pleasant couple and so knowledgeable about Sicily, Etna, and the local town of Milo. In addition to their company, the numerous dishes and wines served, were gorgeous and presented with a great depth of knowledge as to their relevance to the area. It was so enthralling to learn about actually living and running a business in the shadow of the surprisingly active volcano that is Mt Etna. We immersed ourselves in Sicily during our visit, with a good number of trips and activities, but this was undoubtedly one of the highlights. Great value as well.
Barbara is amazing! My wife and I e-biked the Etna on our honey moon and had lunch at Barbara’s afterwards. The food was incredible and delicious. Barbara is so sweet, generous, and friendly. We will definitely go back when we visit Sicily again!
Spent my last day in Sicily at a wonderful vineyard while learning how to make fresh macaroni. Barbara and Amilcare showed us around their beautiful home while picking fresh vegetables from their garden to use for our dinner. They were very welcoming and my boyfriend and I felt like part of their family. We walked around the vineyard which showed amazing views of the ocean and the towns surrounding it. It was an unforgettable experience that is a MUST-DO if you are in the area. Thank you again Barbara and Amilcare Love, Stephanie and Stephen
We spent a truly memorable day with Ami and Barbara. In a tour tailored to our desires, Ami led us to spectacular vistas of Mount Etna and gave us a tremendous amount of information about the history and geology of this very special place. At the end of this tour, Barbara prepared an extraordinary lunch for us that featured local food and wine on a peaceful terrace where we could reflect on the beauty and uniqueness of what we had seen. In our weeks in Sicily, this day stands out as one in which we experienced the sum of all that makes Sicily special -- warm hospitality, beautiful surroundings, appreciation of the natural environment. Both Ami and Barbara were knowledgable about their respective specialties, but it was, even more, their warmth and generosity that made this experience one we wont forget.
Had an absolutely incredible wine tasting courtesy of Barbara and her family. Some of the most delicious wines in the world, right on the vineyards in the middle of nowhere, with gorgeous and breathtaking views. We were fortunate to share such a special and unforgettable experience. If you’re ever in the Catania area, definitely schedule a tasting here; no question.
We spent three weeks in Italy and had some amazing food, but this was the best meal of them all! Barbara prepared a thoughtful and creative menu, incorporating the local flavors and products of the Mt. Etna region. She explained how the food was prepared and the importance of the ingredients, which was fascinating and enjoyable. Her explanation of the wine parings was also a treat. I have some dietary restrictions which she worked around effortlessly and deliciously. She sent us home with recipes which we fully intend to share with our friends and family. We so appreciated having this window into the people and foods of Sicily. And the setting was a knock-out!
A magical and friendly moment I absolutely recommend this experience in the vineyards Between wine and fresh products cooked as a side dish
It's a lovely place, welcoming and kind staff, I felt at home, lunch was excellent, all local products, I recommend it
Very welcoming place...quiet...excellent simple but delicious lunch...We will definitely return...but above all we had a good time thanks to Barbara who welcomed us into her world...🍷😉
Sicily is a land with endless things to discover, a treasure chest of delicacies to enjoy at the table and wonders to discover between nature and cities. Many then speak of the Welcoming of Sicilians. Well, if you want to touch all these you have to live the Get Your Etna experience. Barbara and Amilcare will make you discover the Lady: Etna, its history, the peculiarities of this active volcano, with an unforgettable trek along its black streets of volcanic sand. You will be their guests for lunch in front of a table laid with the fruits of their garden and beyond: bread cunzato, salads of cucumbers, tomatoes and cedar, schiacciate, bruschetta, salami, cheese, pasta alla norma, fruit baskets and cream. Not to mention the wine: white, red, rosé, all the result of the slopes of Etna, for a tasting on a balcony in front of which the valley opens up to the sea, for a truly priceless experience.
The day with Amilcare and Barbara was a perfect combination of nature, exploration, good food and excellent wine... All Naturally 100% made in Sicily! We walked on Etna and Amilcare made us fully enjoy the wonderful Valle del bove and said many curiosities about this majestic mountain! Barbara put us back into the world after the walk with food prepared by her, consumed in a beautiful garden... Super recommended experience!
We meet Ami and he takes us up Mount Etna with his Jeep. He tells a lot about the origin of Mount Etna, about the past, now, the vegetation and surroundings. We walk through the special landscape of La Valle del Bove, all alone.. amazing! So you can enjoy all the beauty around you. Then we drive to Bottoniera dei Sartorius and hike to the highest point... with clear weather you look so far.. very beautiful! Then we drive back quietly and enjoy a delicious extensive lunch on the terrace, which Barbara made herself from fresh products from their garden. We taste delicious Sicilian wine from the region.. in short a beautiful experience, personally and we have learned a lot from the area!!
