Alessandra was an amazing and very informative guide and made the whole experience wonderful!
Elena our guide was outstanding. She was very knowledgable. Mt Etna was fascinating and we had a hike around the craters learning about vulcanism and hiked into a lava tunnel. Elena timed it perfectly as we missed the bulk of the crowds. It was surprisingly busy on Mt Etna despite being later in the season. The wine tasting was lovely as it was a small family producer. The wine was paired nicely with a delicious lunch.
We had a Fabulous time with our guide, Mossimo. He is very knowledgeable about Mt Etna and the surrounding area. He is very kind and attentive to his customers and was flexible with taking us to the Etna cable car so we could ride to the top. The winery is beautiful with certified organic wine. The winery serves us a delicious lunch. It was a great day. I highly recommend this excursion. See link to the winery below https://share.google/qSLKxn0R1nVinVJlR
Massimo is a fabulous guide. He was very informative about the Mt Etna area and took us to a fabulous winery after Mt Etna tour. The winery is in a beautiful setting and the wine tasting and lunch was delicious! We even ordered wine to ship home. I would highly recommend his services.
This is a not to be missed experience - we walked Lava flows (have sturdy shoes), saw mushrooms picking, learned all about the history of Etna, visited a small, family run vineyard and sampled six different wines each paired with the 3 course meal we were served. This all could not be done without our extremely knowledgable, warm, friendly guide, Massimo. His local knowledge of Mt. Etna is unrivaled! This is one of our favorite days and it was all down to Massimo. (He also recommended the restaurant where we had one of the best pizzas in Taormina!)
Had a really great tour of Etna with Corrado. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating for our preferences. Having one’s own guide is not cheap, but it was really worth it.
Masimo was our driver and he was incredible. He was very knowledgeable and even helped my mother with her food allergies so that she was able to eat at the winery. He was wonderful.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and patient as we walked My Etna. It was a great experience
A great trip to do and our guide was great. Viewing Etna and tasting the local wines and a very lovely winery. A very enjoyable excursion out of Taormina. Would recommend for any age
It was amazing. Our tour guide Elana was wonderful! She was pleasant and very knowledgable. I Would absolutely recommend her. Great experience!
Our guide Corrado was excellent! Friendly, knowledgeable and organized. The tour was fun with perfect stops for a honey, olive and wine tasting. The winery stop provided a perfect lunch with a great atmosphere. Highly recommended!! If you are visiting Mt. Etna this provides the perfect guide and tour.
Giuliano was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, chatty and great fun. Both our visits were great, the first tasting was so authentic and Miss Rosalee was lovely. The lunch and tasting at the exclusive small vineyard was so quaint and enjoyable. The view, food and staff were great and we had an experience to remember.
Great experience and a very knowledgeable guide. Had a great time
Great tour guided by Guiliano. He was informative, interesting and his English was very good.
Had a lovely day with my mom at Mt Etna thanks tour guide Corrado. We needed to take things a little slower, and he was endlessly patient and accommodating. Corrado had a wealth of knowledge about the volcano and the surrounding areas. Each stop was enjoyable- the local honey/wine stop, the lower mountain, the cave, the peak and the lunch/wine at the culmination. Very satisfactory experience and worth the cost.
Massimo was a fabulous guide- he was extremely knowledgeable and we learned so much on the tour about the region and history of Sicily. He tailored the trip to our desires and was flexible as to whether we wanted to hike or drive more around Mount Etna. The wine tasting and lunch was a great value for the money. We had a group of 4- and we all agreed this trip was a highlight of our 5 days in Taormina.
Excellent tour and communication leading up to the tour. I would highly recommend! Thank you, Corrado!
If you are looking for the perfect Sicilian experience, stop searching and book this tour. Our guide, Corrado Carpano, was the reason this day went from great to absolutely unforgettable. Corrado is incredibly knowledgeable about the region, from the volcanic geology of Mt. Etna to the local agriculture. He picked us up and immediately made us feel like friends rather than tourists. We started the day exploring the lunar landscapes of Mt. Etna, where we learned about the history of the volcano and even visited local producers to see how they make honey and other regional products. The tour culminated at the Vinilizzio winery, which was the highlight of the day. We enjoyed a fantastic, hearty full lunch paired with a comprehensive wine tasting. The food was delicious, the wines were excellent, and the views were spectacular. Corrado’s passion for Sicily is contagious. He paid attention to every detail and made sure we were comfortable and having fun the entire time. This was hands-down my favorite day during my entire trip to Sicily. I cannot recommend Corrado Carpano and this tour highly enough!
Great tour - Giuliano was an awesome guide. Very knowledgeable!
Giuliano did a fantastic job entertaining myself, my husband there are two college aged boys. Highly recommend him with five stars.
Massimo was a terrific guide. He is highly knowledgeable and informative. The day was enjoyable from the very start. The different stops really gave you a taste of the Sicilian culture. The wine tasting and lunch were fantastic. We had a wonderful day and would recommend this trip to anyone. Thank you Massimo!
Here’s a polished review that is warm, personal, and highlights what future travelers would want to know: Massimo was an outstanding guide and driver, and one of the highlights of our trip to Sicily. He took us on a deeply personal journey to Malvagna to explore our family roots before sharing the beauty and history of Mount Etna. His knowledge of Etna was impressive, and he selected the perfect winery for lunch and a tasting at Tenute Orestiadi, which was an unforgettable experience. His driving skills were exceptional, especially navigating the narrow roads leading to the cemetery in Malvagna with confidence and care. Massimo is a wonderful ambassador for Sicily—professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing his island. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and highly recommend him!
This was an amazing trip! Especially because of our guide Massimo! He was communicative every step. He focused on what was important to us. He was a safe driver and courteous to us and others around him. Putting us at ease. During the trip he gave us so much information about all the wonderful sights we were seeing. His English was excellent and he was charming and fun to be with. The trip to Mt Etna was beautiful and all the information made it come alive. We really enjoyed the lunch at the winery and the wine and grounds were all wonderful. The whole experience was great. Massimo took it to the top level. Thank you so much and I hope you see this!
My visit to Mount Etna was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of my trip to Sicily. We spent around half a day exploring the volcano, and the atmosphere was incredible, with breathtaking views, rugged volcanic landscapes, and a real sense of adventure. Our guide, Corrando, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the tour both interesting and enjoyable by sharing fascinating facts about Mount Etna's history and eruptions. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Sicily.
Tour was the perfect pace. Massimo is very knowledgeable and a great guide. Great wine and lunch at the winery.
Massimo was a fantastic guide very knowledgeable about Etna and the area, and the wine tasting venue was fantastic
If you’re looking for the absolute best way to experience Mount Etna, book a private tour with Maximo. It was, without question, one of the highlights of our entire trip to Sicily. From the moment he picked us up, Maximo made us feel like we were exploring Sicily with a close friend. His English was flawless, his knowledge of the island was incredible, and he thoughtfully personalized every part of the day around our interests. Every stop felt authentic, unhurried, and perfectly planned. The highlight of the day was our visit to Azienda Agricola “La Vite” – F.lli Lizzio (Antichi Vini di Sicilia). Tucked away on the slopes of Mount Etna, it was one of the most enchanting vineyards we’ve ever visited. The panoramic views of the vineyards and volcano were absolutely breathtaking, the wines were exceptional, and the meal was one of the most delicious we enjoyed anywhere in Sicily. The warm hospitality from the Lizzio family made the experience feel incredibly special and unforgettable. (Città del Vino) This wasn’t just a tour—it was a perfectly curated Sicilian experience. Maximo’s attention to detail, genuine kindness, and passion for sharing his homeland created memories we’ll cherish forever. If you want to experience the real Sicily, beyond the typical tourist attractions, this is the tour to book. It was a perfect day from beginning to end, and we cannot recommend Maximo highly enough. Five stars simply aren’t enough!

Our host Giovanni was an absolutely informative and friendly gentleman. Nothing was too much for Giovanni. He tools us to parts of Mt Etna, hidden caves as well as a local honey producer which was excellent. He then took us to La Gelsomina Winery for tasting and lunch. The winery was superb. A hidden gem if you were driving around this beautiful island. Couldn’t recommend Giovanni any more. We’ll be. Sack some time in the future.
Guiliano was a fabulous guide. Hiked the north side of Mt Etna - easy hike; beautiful clear day; very knowledgable on everything Sicily which was appreciated. Stopped in and explored a cave, fractured, honey tasting; and ended with a lovely wine tasting and lunch at La Gelsomina. Would absolutely recommend the tour. Thank you for the wonderful memories made for our family today.
We had a wonderful Etna tour with Corrado. He was so kind, patient and punktual. He has a huge knowledge about Etna and history and nature. We had very good time with him, after the tour we had very delicous lunch with nice wines. Thank You the all day, it was unforgettable!
We had an amazing tour of Mount Etna with our guide, Corrado. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and thoughtful throughout the entire experience. My mother has mobility issues, and he went out of his way to make sure she was comfortable and able to enjoy the tour fully. Corrado made the day feel easy, informative, and memorable. I would highly recommend this tour, and if possible, ask for Corrado!
The tour to Mt Etna was the highlight of our Sicilian holiday. Our tour guide Massimo was a wonderful man who did everything he could to make sure we enjoyed our day. The winery tasting and lunch we had was superb and it is in a stunning location. If you decide to take this tour ask for Massimo as your guide. His knowledge of the history and culture of the Mt Etna region was excellent and made the tour through the region unforgettable.
We had an amazing time. We really enjoyed our tour of Etna with out very experiences guide, Daniele, and the winery was great!
Corrado was very knowledgeable. He had answers for all our questions. He brought us to the best parts of Mount Etna & took us to a quaint family-run winery. The lunch was delicious & wines so good that we bought 4 cases! Grazie, Corrado!
Our private tour to Mt Etna and the winery with Giuliano was fantastic! He is so knowledgeable about the region and has a true passion and respect for Mt Etna. We learned more then we ever expected. He was extremely helpful navigating the pathway to the crater and had hiking boots on hand as well as walking sticks (at no additional charge) for those of us that needed them. The winery we went to after our hike was really great with a beautiful view and delicious food and wine. A smaller vineyard with much charm. It was a truly enjoyable day!!
Excellent tour Visited north side of Etna , learned much about the history and enjoyed some excellent wine
Our driver Marco was really great. He picked us up straight from our hotel. We were driven to a honey bee market where we could taste different honeys and wines. We continued on the journey to stop at a beautiful viewpoints and eventually we made it to the crater of Mount Etna. My husband and I climbed to the top of one of the crater and got some really great view points with a drone. After hiking we went to a diner and had some traditional Sicilian snacks and bought some unique gifts. We left with our guide to explore a tiny ton of 30 people. It was peaceful sit next to the church. Then he drove us to a small family vineyard. They made us lunch and many wine tastings. Overall, it was a really great experience and I would highly recommend it for a beautiful experience.
Marco was prompt. Very informative and flexible. Changed up order of sites as first intended stop was busy with other tour buses. Great careful driver. Really enjoyed the day!
Omar was a great tour guide. Enjoyed the winery and even though hike was short due to extreme weather Omar Captured the memories and made it a memorable day.
We had a great time today with Corrado! This was a really fun tour with lots of variety in what you are able to see. Such beautiful views! Corrado added on a stop at a delicious wine bar with tapas! We really enjoyed the entire day! Thank you!
Great way to spend a full day touring. Carrado was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable about the area, history, geology/volcanoes, flora, and very personable and helpful. Trips to lava flow, cave tour, and crater walk were fascinating and views even though cloudy were fantastic. Wine lunch was great way to end. No way we could have driven those tiny windy roads without a guide. Some parts were like the Irish countryside!
We had a very nice Etna and Wine tasting/lunch experience with Corrado. In prep for our tour he was thoughtful about asking our food preferences, and whether we had appropriate gear (he brought coats for us and even asked us about shoe sizes, offering to bring us shoes). During the tour he gave us interesting and informative insights on Mt Etna, without overwhelming us with too much scientific details. He was happy to answer all of our questions about Etna, local culture and his family. Felt like an outing with a friend, a great way to experience some of Mama Etna- with delicious wines and lunch afterwards.
We had a great tour with Marco and would highly recommend the tour. Having a private guide allowed us to stay as long as we wanted at each place and see a little extra that having a group tour may not allow. The wine tasting and food pairing was very enjoyable. Marco was very informative and an excellent guide.
Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our tour of Mount Etna’s craters and the local winery was unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing guide, Giuliano. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the history and geology of Etna. Giuliano made sure we understood everything we were seeing in a way that was both fascinating and easy to follow. The winery visit was the perfect complement to the adventure—beautiful setting, delicious wines, and a chance to relax and take it all in. Giuliano kept everything running smoothly while still making it feel personal and laid-back. If you’re considering this tour, don’t hesitate. It’s a perfect mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation. Highly recommend—and if you can, ask for Giuliano!
It was the most memorable experience I have ever had. I would definitely do it again.
Had a great day with Corrado as our guide. Learned and saw a lot of Etna, stopped at a local honey shop, and ended the day with the perfect lunch and wine tasting at a local winery with an amazing view. Great experience and MUCH preferred the private, intimate setting as opposed to the large group tours for this one.
Long drive to see old lava spill . Tour guide was kind but stops were not impressive . Luch was very low quality at a small vineyard . Wine was ok food was not. We should have been told to wear boots . Walked in mud and snow. Didn’t justify price at all .
Our private tour of Mount Etna was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Sicily. If you’re debating whether the private tour is worth the extra cost — it absolutely is. Our guide, Corrado, was phenomenal. His knowledge of the volcano was incredible. He explained everything from Etna’s eruption history to the different lava rocks and landscapes we were walking through. You could tell immediately that this isn’t just a job for him — it’s a passion. Corrado truly seems like a volcano expert, and he shared so much fascinating information that made the entire experience even more meaningful. The tour itself was unforgettable. We hiked across the volcanic landscape, explored a lava cave, and even found snow on the mountain — such a surreal contrast against the black lava rock. Corrado made sure we felt safe the entire time while still allowing us to explore and enjoy the adventure at our own pace. Another incredible part of the day was stopping at a local winery. The owner’s wife prepared lunch for us, and it felt like being welcomed into someone’s home. The food was delicious, the wine was fantastic, and the hospitality made the experience feel so personal and authentic. What made the private tour truly special was the flexibility and intimacy. No crowds, no rushing — just the freedom to move at our pace, ask questions, and fully take in the beauty of Etna. Hiking a volcano, walking through a cave, seeing snow, drinking local wine, and enjoying homemade Sicilian food — it was an unforgettable day. Highly recommend the private tour and especially Corrado if you want an informative, safe, and truly special Etna experience.
