Super interesting tour with an experienced tour guide. The one negative aspect was that we wished we would have spent more time walking around Ortiga and less time eating lunch.

Prestelli is the BEST Company to work with for private excursions! We have worked with them for two years straight and have taken several day trips ranging from wineries, to walking tours to Etna - we've had one bump in the road when our ship docked at the lesser known port which derailed our day, however Pasquale and his office team turned the disaster into a magnificent day! I would recommend Prestelli for any time you plan to be in Sicily - especially if you are coming into town for one day on a cruise - they will make sure you are back to the ship on time for boarding with a good 30 minutes to spare. We have tried everything - rearranging our plans, asking for special trips to buy specific items we want to bring home that are not traditional trinkets tourists ask about and we have always been treated with kindness and respect. I've even asked for a few favors ahead of returning to Sicily which they took care of for me as well. Their guides are well educated, intelligent, able to bring history to life and make your time together highly enjoyable. The drivers are familiar with the roads and clearly safe to be with - I would trust any of my family with them.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Archaeological Park and stroll thru Ortigia with Biagio. He is so passionate about the history of the Greek and Roman area and speaks perfect English. My husband is a little bit slow walking and Biagio easily accommodated his needs all the while sharing tidbits of history and information about the archaeological area and later in Ortigia. Since we were staying in Ortigia he pointed out shops we might want to return to and mentioned restaurants along the way. In all, it was a very memorable day!
Great way to see a lot in a short amount of time with a guided tour. He was great and very knowledgable of the area, and took us to a fantastic lunch spot!
Absolutely perfect day with Biagio for our first ever trip to Syracuse! We were promptly greeted at our hotel and enjoyed a short drive to the Archeological Park. Biagio is not only polite and informative but he clearly is passionate about the history and love for his home. Also his singing voice in the cave was just an extra special experience. Then after we drove to walk around Ortigia to see all of the highlights of the island with not only a knowledgeable local guide but humor and great conversation. Lunch was perfect and the food delicious with so many options we couldn’t even finish it without being stuffed. I recommend the tour for anyone who would like to experience local authentic Syracuse for the day!

Nice tour of Syracuse and Ortigia with timely transportation and itinerary as stated. Lunch at local restaurant was generous portions and authentic. Would recommend.
We had the pleasure of touring Ortigia with the most wonderful guide, Biagio Giaccone through Prestelli tours. Prestelli were very easy and flexible to work with. Biagio was incredibly knowledgable, informative, interesting and fun. He was such a pleasure to spend time with provided an insiders perspective to the beautiful and rich history, culture, and charm of Ortigia.
Corrado was a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide! He made the day interesting and enjoyable for all six of us, ages 61 to 74. The restaurant chosen for this tour is a very popular one for locals - always a good sign. It was busy but both the food and service were wonderful! I would recommend this tour to anyone!
Biagio was not only a driver and guide, but also an incredible wealth of knowledge about the history of Siracusa and Sicily's relationship to the world. Biagio's explanations at the Greek archeological site made viewing the ruins come alive regarding the construction and uses of the various structures there. One particular highlight was in the Ear of Dyonisius cave. In a strong and well pitched baritone, he sang Italian, French, and Spanish songs the echoes were incredible. After our visit to Greek archeological site, we then went to Ortigia island. Because Biagio has been a life long inhabitant of Ortigia, not only did he show us the major sites on the island, but also the curious or hidden beauty places on the island. As part of the tour, Biagio took us to the restaurant Tempio di Athena where we had an excellent luncheon together. After the tour, my wife and I agreed that we were extremely fortunate to meet Biagio who is a gentleman and a warm, friendly person. We highly recommend this tour.
Our tour guide Biagio was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and excellent driver. Enjoyed it very much
This was a wonderful tour with our guide, Biagio. He was knowledgeable, kind and had a good sense of humor. I highly recommend this tour!
Biagio was fabulous. He was full of information and spoke excellent English. We were a mixed group of travelers in our fifties and early twenties, and Biagio kept all of us fully engaged. The transportation was clean, comfortable and convenient. We had a short visit to Siracusa, and this tour allowed us to maximize our limited time. We included the food and wine experience at the end and had a delightful experience at Jobi. We enjoyed local sparking, white and red wines along with a taste of several local specialties. It was a wonderful end to the tour and definitely worth the additional expense. Ask Biagio to sing for you for a real treat.
Our guide, Biagio, made our day fabulous. His personality and expansive knowledge of his island, his city, and the flora are extraordinary. We all enjoyed our time.
We had a wonderful tour of the archaeological park and around Ortigia. Paolo was awesome and very knowledgeable. We would highly recommend him. We wish we had met him sooner to do some other tours with him.
Paolo gave us a great time in Syracusa. He picked us up at our hotel in his car and first took us to the archeological park where there are Greek and Roman ruins. As we walked thru the park Paolo regaled us with history and lore. He was very knowledgeable. After the park he drove back to Ortigia, found a parking spot and then gave us a great walking tour of the island. With each street he would point out fabulous historical details about the buildings and cultures of the past. We walked all the way to the lower tip where the natural spring emerges and the castle was built. He then took us to a nice sidewalk cafe where he had arranged a great lunch. He left us to indulge in great Sicilian wine and food.
What an amazing time we had! We are a family of five (3 boys 6-15 yrs old). Our guide Paolo was great! He wanted to show and tell us as much as possible but was also so accommodating when we need to take a snack or picture break. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about ortiga/Syracuse! Also the wine bar for the tour was top notch! The food and wine was out of this world as was the information about the wine. I would book this tour again when we have friends or family in town!
A great trip to beautiful Syracuse with delicious lunch and knowledgeable guide. Unfortunately the archaeological site was closed due to flooding and a few things closed because of Covid but these things were beyond the organiser’s control. Driven there and back by Elena, a very careful driver and good company.
Our tour guide Biagio unfortunately was not good. He is a lovely very nice gentleman and I’m sorry to be providing this feedback but this tour was very demanding physically and he was not in the best shape for it. He went way too slow and we missed seeing key landmarks because of that. He didn’t give us much information, most of the time it was a quiet stroll and he had no answers for questions we asked. It may have been a language barrier or lack of knowledge. He did tell us a lot about the plants (which we were not interested in). Way too much money for the lack of education we felt by the end. The ristorante that was part of this tour was outstanding though.
Our guide Matilda was great! The food and wine tasting were amazing! I would differently recommend this tour!
Wonderful experience to discover the historic Syracuse. Our guide Paolo is excellent and patient especially with our little daughters. We visited the archaeological park. Inside there is the theater and the ear of Dionysus, truly something unique. Then we did the Ortigia tour. Ortigia cannot be explained in words. Local food tasting was also excellent. Thanks Paolo and thanks to Nadia who patiently organized our tour even though we changed the starting point several times.
The Ortigia tour was very interesting. Our guide Paolo was very patient and explained many secrets to us. The visit to the archaeological park was also wonderful. The theater is unique. We concluded the tour with a delicious food and wine tasting. We returned to the hotel satisfied.
Marco our private tour guide gave a very knowledgeable and thorough tour of the archaeological park as well as the walk around Ortega Island. Finishing up with the wine tasting and food option. He is an excellent tour guide and a fantastic host. We highly recommend him.
We had an excellent, in depth tour of the Archaeological Park. The guide was very knowledgeable. The trip through Ortigia was a bit quicker, but the main sites were pointed out. Adding the food/wine pairing was a good choice, as we had a huge charcuterie/cheese plate with 3-4 wine pairings. Delicious.
The trip was amazing went to the Archeological park in Syracuse. We swam in Otigya the water was beautiful, ate local fish & chips. Very clean town. Noto is also pretty with amazing buildings
Paulo gave us a great tour of Syracuse's Archeological Park and then Ortigia. He is very knowledgeable and personable so it was a pleasure for us to spend the morning with him. After his tour, we had a much better understanding of the history and cultural richness of Syracuse and Ortigia. To finish the tour, he dropped us off at a bistro in the market where he had arranged for a delicious lunch. We definitely recommend taking this tour with Paulo!

Our tour guide, Marco, seems to love history and giving tours of his beautiful and historic city of Siracusa. It was a very informative tour, and he happily answered all of our many questions. We spent a lot of time in the Archaeological Park which was amazing and we opted to do the food and wine tasting at the end which we also enjoyed. I highly recommend this tour.

My brother advised me to take the BIAGGIO guide and we were delighted! He speaks impeccable French (but also German and English!), he is very cultured, funny, lively… And he has plenty of surprises in store during the visit! A real joy. We RECOMMEND it to you with your eyes closed!!
Fabulous. Our guide was charming and very interesting, he shared his passion for the history of his country. The trattoria in which we ended our day had prepared us a whole assortment of delicious Sicilian specialties.... Just perfect
