We can definitely recommend this cooking class to everyone! We had a really great evening with Alice and Francesco. Alice showed us many different types/shapes of pasta and shared really helpful tips and background information for the making of pasta. We also prepared a delicious tiramisu. As a vegetarian it was no problem at all and Alice checked our likes/dislikes with us in advance. After we made the pasta Alice and Francesco cooked for us as we had really nice starters and wine. The food was delicious. We had a lot of fun, shared great laughter and had a really nice and delicious dinner and local recommendations for our trip in Sicily. If we ever visit Palermo again we will come back for another cooking experience with Alice.

I booked this pasta making class for myself, my husband, 2 kids and their spouses. We had the best time making 2 different types of pasta and our own personal tiramisu. This class was in our host's personal home. Alice and her partner (sorry can't remember his name) were so welcoming, genuine and so nice. We had a lot of fun with them. Once all the pasta was cooking and the tiramisu was chilling, they set us up in their living room with appetizers and Italian wine. We all sat down at their dining room table and had a delicious feast of the 2 different types of pasta, one with a pesto sauce and the other with a ragu sauce served with Prosecco. The fresh pasta and sauce were out of this world delicious. The tiramisu we made was wonderful. If you're ever in Palermo and find yourself with some extra time, I would highly recommend taking this pasta class with Alice. We booked this class through Viator.
Rosamaria (Messina) took us into her beautiful home and set up fantastic learning and eating experience and graciously exposed us to the warmth of Sicilian culture. We made busiate and Sicilian gnocci pasta and followed by making stuffed veal rolls (involutini alla romana) and then had a truly fabulous meal on her veranda. Rosamaria is so warm and friendly, and her cooking class is an incredibly nice way to learn about Sicilian cuisine and culture. Fabulous.
What an amazing time. Our host was warm, friendly and knowledgeable. Had a great time cooking pasta, learning new techniques and making the perfect tiramisu. No better way to spend a morning/early afternoon!
Wow! We were not sure what to expect, but it was not this. Alice was completely prepared for our arrival. All equipment and ingredients were ready to be assembled. She welcomed us into her lovely home with grace and courtesy. She showed us how to start the pasta with clear, thorough instruction on everything. She helped us make tiramisu while the pasta dough rested. Then, she showed us multiple types of pasta we could make and multiple ways to make each one. She explained, demonstrated, then let us begin. She was positive and encouraging throughout the experience. When all of the pasta was ready, including the raviolli that was the subject of much laughter, she cooked the pasta in the kitchen while we had aperatifs and cocktails she had prepared previously. We sat down to a meal together and had delightful conversation with laughter, wine, and the pasta that we were amazed had been prepared by our own hands. We never knew how much fun it was. Alice made it fun. We now plan to make pasta monthly just re-live the experience and remember the great time we had under Alice's guidance. Thank you so much, Alice! To anyone reading this - it was the best experience of our two week vacation in Naples, Palermo, and surrounding areas. We saw wonderful sights, but we could not stop talking about how much fun we had after spending the evening with Alice.
Alice and Francesco were the most lovely and personable hosts one could ask for. They had a lovely home and shared it with our small group while teaching us how to make the most delicious pastas! Making an authentic meal while in Palermo was a bucket list item for me, and this was the perfect way to achieve it. The food was delicious, the conversation was wonderful, and the hosts were very knowledgeable, but were also just an absolutely charming couple. If you’re looking to learn how to make authentic Sicilian dishes, you must try this. Thank you, Alice and Francesco, for sharing your home and hearts with us!
Alice and Francesco were amazing hosts! We loved their passion and knowledge for their heritage. They welcomed us with open arms into their lovely home and shared the three generations of family that has lived there. They inspired us to purchase the tools we used with them to be able to take what we learned back home to Indiana. We would highly recommend taking the opportunity to learn with them and get to know them better.
The cooking course with Rosaria was great! I felt very comfortable with her right from the start and was well instructed. Rosaria was very respectful, friendly and open and I can recommend the cooking course with her 100%!
We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday in Sicily and the pasta and tiramisu cooking course was a special birthday experience for my sister’s and my family together. It was a fantastic and unique experience. It completely surpassed our expectations. We learnt a lot and had lots of fun. We had 3 teenagers in the group and four adults, we all really enjoyed it. Rosa Maria was so friendly and welcoming and her Sicilian cookery knowledge made special memories for us. Highly recommend and thank you!
Had an amazing time learning how to make ravioli and cavatelli pasta from scratch, as well as tiramisu from scratch. I rarely cook at home, but this class made it easy for me to build cooking confidence as what they taught me to make turned out delicious. It was fun!
We enjoyed this cooking experience so much! Alice welcomed us into her house with open arms and made us feel like old friends. My teenagers loved this as well. We made two different pastas from scratch as well as homemade tiramisu. We then sat down and all ate together and had great conversations. This is a must do!!
Alice was a fantastic host and teacher! We had so much fun learning how to make busiate, ravioli and tiramisu. We had a thoughfully arranged apperitiv before dinner where we ate our delicious creations. I would highly recommend taking a class with Alice to have an enjoyable yet educational night :)
Our hosts were so welcoming and kind. They were English speaking but we learned a few Italian words from speaking with them. We had a lot of fun and they were so enjoyable! Their apartment was clean and lovely. The food turned out great. We would highly recommend Alice and Francesco as your hosts
Velia was the most gracious hostess. We so enjoyed our time in her beautiful home. If you enjoy cooking classes, request Velia for this experience. We made two types of pastas and tiramisu. We enjoyed the appetizers, wine and food. Thank you Velia with Cesarine.
We had an amazing evening with Maria Giulia. She was very friendly and welcomed us with open arms. We started with the tiramisu and then had a drink and a snack before we went on to make two kinds of pasta. When everything was done she finished it off and we ate with her and her son which was very nice. We really recommend you book an evening with Maria Giulia you won't be disappointed.
My friend and I had a fantastic experience with Lucrezia and Nonna. Upon arrival, they were so welcoming and happy to have us in their home. Instantly, we felt comfortable as they offered us snacks and beverages. Once it was time for the cooking to begin, they were organized, prepared, and had ample space around the table for us all. Hands were always washed and tools used were as well. There was also a good balance of watching/learning and then being able to try techniques out on our own. Both of them really seem to enjoy having people in their home to teach, especially Nonna who was smiling most of the time. It warmed my heart so much! It truly felt like we were at home making food and they made the dishes not feel intimidating. Now we feel ready to do it on our own in The States! Food turned out amazingly and we were so full! Haha Lucrezia was able to speak in English and Italian so if that’s a concern, there is someone there to help us English speakers out. Again, what a wonderful time my friend and I had. Personally, my favorite part of my weeklong trip and an honor to be in someone’s home learning something like this. Grazie mille!
Rosa Maria was an amazing host and cooking teacher, so welcoming and knowledgeable. An unforgettable experience whilst in Sicily in a locals home.
Pina was such a wonderful hostess. I loved every minute of the session and I’m so grateful for the knowledge that she shared with me. I had such fun. Would recommend this experience any time
We had an extraordinary experience with Rosa Marie! She has extensive experience in the restaurant industry, and it shows in the way she guided us through preparations, cooking, and eating at the end. Her ability to be flexible with our learning interests and engage our two kids (age 9 and 11) was impressive. She’s patient, expert, and rich with her knowledge and insights. Her husband Maximiano joined us for dinner, and it was a delight to chat and learn about Palermo and Italy. The class exceeded all of our expectations - our questions were answered and hopes for learning to make several types of pasta using several methods met. The bonus was being welcomed into a warm home and treated like dinner-party guests.
What a wonderful experience and celebration for all of us! We had 3 couples and honestly, some were hesitant to try this new adventure. But Rosaria was such a sweet and patient teacher and she accommodated our special dietary needs. Everything was delicious and she spoiled us with special traditional appetizers, desserts, and drinks. She also surprised us with special desserts and sparkling wine to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. ❤️ Needless to say, we were all so happy with our experience and we thank Rosaria for welcoming us into her home. We also need to thank Francesca for being an amazing friend and interpreter. These ladies made us feel like family too! We highly recommend this cooking class!
Pina was an absolute delight! From the beginning we both felt very welcome and at home. Pina made sure we were looked after and had the best experience. This was the most wholesome and heart warming activity. The pasta making was very traditional and authentic. It was so much fun sitting down at the table after making the pasta and tiramisu and enjoying a delicious lunch. Pina made sure we enjoyed our meals and left us feeling so loved! We will forever talk about this experience to our loved ones and could not recommended Pina more!
Alice & Francesco are truly wonderful people, chefs, and teachers! My family and I had an absolute blast cooking with them and learning all about the Sicilian way of life. Truly the most authentic experience you can have in Sicily. We spent the morning in their gorgeous apartment hand-making pastas and tiramisu while drinking wine and enjoying an apertivo in-between. We cannot recommend taking a class with them enough- you will not regret it! 10/10 and a must-do experience!
Graziella was an awesome hostess and so much fun to cook with in her home. Knowledgeable and friendly. We had a lot of fun!
Our hosts, Alice and Francesco, were absolutely phenomenal. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They went above and beyond our expectations to provide an inviting and fun experience. We loved learning about the history and culture of the food we were preparing. The food turned out incredible even though it was made by pure novices like ourselves -- a true testament to our excellent cesarina! The booking time of 3 hours was a bit ambitious as the experience lasted closer to 4.5 hours. It felt unfair to our hosts that we were not paying for the full time required for the evening. This is not a reflection on our hosts' time management (our hosts were excellent at moving us along in a timely and thoughtful manner). Instead, it is perhaps an oversight by the booking organization as 3 hours seems ambitious for cooking two different types of pasta, tiramisu, and having a tasting at the end. 5 hours would be much more comfortable. We would highly recommend the experience to anyone traveling in Palermo.
We had a wonderful evening in Pina's apartment cooking together (there were only two of us). Pina is a wonderful hostess and cook who likes to pass on her knowledge. In addition to various antipasti (crostini), we made a pasta dough and formed busiates from it. Pina had already prepared a delicious sauce of artichokes, guanciale etc. We also conjured up a super delicious tiramisu and prepared frittelle di rucola. We were also offered prosecco and wine. It was a great experience in a beautiful apartment with stunning views over Palermo overlooking Monte Pellegrino. We gained new experiences and recipes and ate very delicious. Pina is a very lovable person. We can recommend the cooking class with Pina without restriction!
Antonella and her family were friendly and welcoming, they taught my mother and me how to prepare fresh pasta. In addition to having enjoyed an excellent lunch, we were struck by the family atmosphere that was established with the Cesarina, her husband, her children and other family members. Really A beautiful family and excellent dining experience;)
