Private Tour from Taormina by comfortable car or minivan with personal guide/driver to Savoca, the must-see Sicilian hill town world-known thanks to F.F. Coppola, who filmed his legendary "The Godfather" here. Learn about the filming process and interesting trivia, learn the real Sicilian Mafia story, its structure, rise and development, and anti-Mafia fight.
Later, descend to the Mediterranean sea and have a boat tour (NOT Private boat tour) of Taomina coastline and Isola Bella. This is a unique experience to admire the beauty of Taormina coastline, Isola Bella and Blue Grotto. Pears and Mt. Etna from the Sea! The boat tour is about 2 hours. Itinerary
Savoca is an unspoilt medieval town that near Taormina that acted as stand-in for Corleone where Michael was hiding out during the "going to the mattresses" time. Here you will visit Bar Vitelli and take pictures with an authentic Sicilian shotgun "Lupara", see pictures from the movie and a mirror monument for Coppola, enjoy panoramic view of the Mediterranean opening from the square where the wedding ceremony scene was shot. Then you will walk to an ancient church of Santa Lucia, where Michael and Apollonia were married kneeling in the doorway. Walking along the fabulous streets of Savoca, on a good day you can also meet some actors - for example a lady who played Apollonia's mother. At the end of the walking tour you will have a traditional lunch in a typical "Trattoria." Lunch consist: cheeses from Etna, salami, ham, sun-dried tomatoes from Taormina, olives, homemade bread, a portion of parmigiana, a portion of caponata, pasta alla norma, local wine and for dessert, lemon sorbet.
Departure: Giardini Naxos Bay Places: Isola Bella, Blue Grotto, the Cave of Love and the Rock of the Prickly Pear.

This was an awesome tour! Our tour guide Bruno was so knowledgable and made the tour so worthwhile. Seeing all the Godfather sites was interesting and Bruno added so much context to the visits. Highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in Sicilian villages in general and the Godfather specifically and its impact on the village.

My wife and I took the Godfather tour while on our honeymoon, our guide’s name was, Marco and we could not have been happier! Marco was fascinating to listen to, not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about the film locations, but about the entire surrounding region. As we moved between each highlight of the tour he would also talk about the area we were in, explain the history of the surrounding mountains, which villages produced what. We learned about each filming location, and also the aftermath of the movie, how it transformed each place. I 100% recommend this tour! Hopefully, you’ll be lucky enough to get Marco!!!

Bruno was an excellent tour guide. Savoca was beautiful and we felt very welcome, Bruno’s knowledge of the area and the Godfather Filming was superb. Our lunch at a local restaurant was delicious and Bruno made sure it was extra special after hearing it was our Anniversary week. The boat tour was just as amazing and finished off a perfect day. Thank you so much Bruno, we hope to tour with you again soon!

The boat tour was fantastic and I highly recommend, however the Godfather tour left a lot to be desired. The entire ride to the small town was silent outside of a 10 minute introduction about the town. The tour felt like there was nothing to do, as if the tour guide wasn’t sure what to do with us or how to fill the time. It was honestly just very awkward.

This started off with a personal pickup from Elena. A wonderful ride to Godfather country. Elena gave us a wonderful tour on the way. We then had a great tour. Elena took us for a wonderful lunch and then we drove to the sea and had an amazing boat ride with David. We had an amazing day with Elena and David. The attention to detail on the tour was terrific. This is a must see!

Tour was amazing, nothing was too much trouble for Omar our guide! His knowledge was top notch, food was incredible! Best pasta I have eaten this entire trip! And our boat tour was great over all definitely money well spent !

Our guide Elena was wonderful however we did not get a chance to take the boat tour as the sea was too rough. Lunch was authentic homemade dishes.

Thanks to this tour not only did we discover many curiosities about the film The Godfather, visiting places such as the Bar Vitelli or the church where Michael and Apollonia's wedding is set, but thanks to our guide we learned a lot about local history and Sicily . Lunch was perfect! We ate in a family-run restaurant, tasting many traditional local dishes. Afterwards we moved to the Giardini Naxos area, from where we took a boat that took us on a tour of the bay of Taormina. Our captain was very kind and we even took a dip in the sea. I was satisfied especially because my son had so much fun!
