Private Etna & Taormina Tour, From Palermo Area & Cefalù

Our driver giovanni was excellent but it was a shame that he didn't speak a little more english. He translated on his phone which was great but when we got back he wanted to drop us somewhere else due to difficulty navigating to our apartment but it was dark and we had no idea where we were. If he could have understood us we would have been happy to be dropped somewhere we knew and could find our way back but we could not explain this to him. I could not get cell reception so was not able to use my translator app.

What a great tour! We had an amazing day visiting Mt. Etna and Taormina. If you have an opportunity to visit Sicily, Mt . Etna should definitely be on your list of things to do. Taormina is beautiful and we enjoyed walking around and visiting the many different shops. Fabio our driver was wonderful. We all enjoyed getting to know him and appreciated how he made everything so easy for us :)

Our driver, Dario, was great. He was English-speaking and knowledgeable! He assisted us with the beauty of the area, and made suggestions for us. He was remarkable! The transport was comfortable, but Dario made the difference!

Mount Etna is a must if in Sicily. It was a wonderful experience. Taormina, while very pretty, is just a tourist trap. Spend more time at Etna, and skip Taormina. I had a private driver who was absolutely wonderful. He was quite personable, helpful, and very accommodating. All in all, a great day!

We had a private tour - our driver was very good but not very chatty! It was a very long trip from Palermo but worth it to see Mt Etna. There were long queues to go up in the cable car - not much you could do about this though other than be patient. Taormina was a pretty town too. Really, to do both justice you need to visit from the west coast so you have longer there and less travelling.

Fabio was a terrific driver. He did a great job with pickups and dropoffs and knew every inch of the road. Couldn't give him a higher recommendation. Great guy.

Dario was a great and friendly driver for our day trip. He arrived on time and was very kind in offering travel tips to us. We spent longer in Etna as we wanted to get the coach/bus after the cable car experience which we found very worthwhile. It meant slightly less time in Taormina which was fine for us. I definitely recommend booking this for anyone who wishes to travel in comfort.

This trip was not what I expected the driver who was Daniel was not very friendly or informative. He didn’t even take us to Cefalu he skipped it . I found out later from another driver he took a long way to Mt. Etna , that’s why he didn’t take us to Cefalu . I was very disappointed ☹️

Great activity. The journey is long from.Palermo to Etna and Taormina but worth the effort. Our driver was the best! Highly recommended.

Don’t book this tour. The operator failed to show for pick up and then after an hour of trying to get in contact with them, they cancelled our tour. Because of them we missed seeing Mt Etna etc. Don’t trust this operator. Worst service!

Our driver Dario was very helpful and polite. He assisted on our day making it flow very smoothly. Helping us with entrance tickets saving us time. He was a safe driver with a fabulous music playlist and he could sing!!!! The trip is worthwhile even though you have to travel 3 hours each way. Taormina is stunningly beautiful with plenty to see eat and drink. Oh and nice shops!!!! Fabulous trip. Thank you.

Dario, the driver and tour guide, was great! The conversations were fun and informative. Dario made excellent restaurant and site recommendations once we arrived at our destinations. The vehicle was in excellent condition, air conditioned and very comfortable all the way through the tour. Highly recommended!

Dario was a great driver and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour! The drive to Mount Etna was just over 3 hours from Termini but we stopped half way for pit stop. Taormina was beautiful but not enough time spent there so we will go back.

This tour was amazing ! Our driver was Dario and he was absolutely expectional! He gave us ideas and suggestions of what to do and see, had great taste in music and generally just a great driver. We spent an hour at Mt Etna and 3 hours in Taormina. I would highly recommended this your! And if your lucky enough to get Dario as your driver you have hit the jackpot !!

Dario was wonderful. We had a great time on this tour. He was on time picking us up and made the entire experience pleasant. He was fun to talk with and very informative about everything we were seeing and doing. We did the cable car and bus tour of Mt Etna at his suggestion and loved it. We then hopped back in the car with him which was still a pleasure and headed over to Taormina, which was truly a great place to visit. Particularly loved the Teatro ruins and the local restaurants. Trip was definitely worth the money, and we could’nt have asked for a better driver than Dario. He was the best, I feel as though we’d be good friends if I lived in Sicily. Again, highly recommend

It was good tour the reason I gave 4 star it was very short time in Taormina for that long of a drive. Mount etna was wonderful experience must see. Our driver Dario was well dressed ,very polite and kind, extremely respectful wonder tour guide.

The trip was excellent. Started off with snow up Mount Etna and some stunning views of the coast below. Taormina was beautiful, just wish we could have stayed there longer. Our driver Dario was superb. All in all a fantastic day

Marco was very friendly and professional. He was timely throughout the day. He was a very safe driver. It was a great day!

my family and I had an excellent time during our private Etna and Taormina tour. The drive from Palermo to Mt. Etna was incredibly scenic and Marco was very helpful and accommodating!

The tour operator seemed nice and he was helpful with my elderly mother. The Viator trip claims you get an English speaking driver, WiFi in the van and bottled water. We got none of that. It is about a 3 hour drive to Etna. Mt. Etna was cool and as advertised. We spent 2 hours there. Next was Taormina. The trip advertises 4 hours in Taormina where you could see the ancient theater on your own. We got 90 minutes and barely got to see the town and have a small lunch. We never had time to see the ancient theater. The last stop was supposed to be Castelmola but the driver never went there. He just took us back to Palermo. When asked why we didn’t get what we wanted, Viator responded, “ Unfortunately, per the local operator advise that the tour includes also the vist ot Etna, and this takes at least 2 hours and half … the distance from Palermo needs to cover 3 hours up Etna, one hour from Etna to reach Taormina and at least 30 minutes to reach Castelmola from Taormina, then it needs 3 hours and a half back to a Palermo directly to their hotel. If they spend much time in Etna or Taormina then there’s no time to visit Castelmola. And their driver and car have been all day with a loss of cost for them. Therefore, at this time we are unable to offer a refund.” Viator completely glossed over what they told us we would experience. Buyer beware!

We very much enjoyed our day. The drive was enjoyable and the locations of Mt Etna & Taormina were amazing. Would totally recommend this tour.

The ride to the volcano and to Taormina was comfortable, and our driver/guide was knowledgeable and helpful. Etna was awe-inspiring, and the Greco-Roman theater was interesting.

This tour is an independent trip with a driver. It was a perfect way to travel for us. We had the flexibility we desired. We had an excellent driver. Mt. Etna and Taormina are amazing! They shouldn’t be missed!

The driver was great and the ride was pleasant but this was not a tour. It was just a ride. For a lot of money. We still had to pay separately for a tour at mt Etna. I know It said you had to pay the entrance fee, but I didnt realize we were just getting dropped off and the fee was an extra €65. Taormina was lovely, but again we were just dropped off. I dont Think I’d go this direction especially for the cost

Muy bien nuestro guia Darío. Aunque la excursión estaba contratada con guía en ingles e italiano, Darío hablaba perfectamente español, lo que nos facilitó mucho la excursión, aparte de ser muy amable con nosotros.

It was excellent this "tour", very impressive the volcano Etna and beautiful the village of Taormina. We really enjoyed it. The Dario Guide was very friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that because of the cost of the "tour", we thought that the tickets for the "cable car" and the truck were included.

He was super nice driver nothing to say. He taught us a lot about the city. Taormina is just beautiful and the volcano experience was also magical. We had a great day but very intense (we had to hurry ..) I think Taormina deserves a day visit alone...
