My wife and I enjoyed our afternoon boat ride around Ortigia. We went across the bay, around Ortigia and to the caves. The water turned a bit rough but it was still an enjoyable experience. Our captain handled the waves well: we only got the occasional spray. It's a nice way to see the island and experience the water.

The private tour with aperitif will start from the bridges of Ortigia and then we will enter the "large port" of Syracuse and the beautiful alfeo seafront of Ortigia. Later we will go out of the port to circumnavigate the island and admire the monuments located along the coast. We will leave Ortigia to head towards the coast north of Syracuse to go and see the beautiful sea caves. Later we will return from the "small port" to navigate within the Ortigia canal that divides the island from the city and we will pass under the bridges to return to the starting point. The visit is guided and a historical and geographical explanation is provided. It is also possible to stop for a swim.

If you want to see Ortigia and the surrounding coastline from the best possible angle, this private boat tour is an absolute must. What Made It Great Incredible Coastal Views: Cruising around the perimeter of Ortigia Island gives you a unique perspective of the city's defense walls and skyline. The view of Castello Maniace from the water as you loop around the tip of the island is breathtaking. Exploring the Sea Caves: Visiting the Grotta della Pillirina and the surrounding limestone formations along the Plemmirio coast was a highlight. The waters around the caves are crystal-clear and stunningly turquoise. Refreshing Aperitif: Enjoying a cold drink on board while passing the Lungomare Alfeo and the outer harbor makes the entire experience feel relaxed and luxurious. Great Logistics: The boat is comfortable, easy to board from the Ortigia bridges, and the timing gives you plenty of time to take in the sights without feeling rushed. Tips for Future Travelers Don't forget sunscreen and sunglasses—the sun reflecting off the Porto Grande can be intense even late in the afternoon. Also, bring a swimsuit; they allow you to swim!
Beautiful boat trip with excellent service. We had plenty of opportunities to swim and enjoy the stunning beaches and impressive cliffs outside Syracuse. A wonderful experience that I highly recommend!
We had the best time on this 2-hour private boat ride with our captain, Miguel. It was a great way to see Syracuse and Ortigia from the sea. The caves were fascinating. Miguel played an audio guide at certain points which gave us the facts of different landmarks. Miguel is very friendly and we had a lot of fun. It was a great vibe with music, fruit, prosecco, and swimming. We could not have asked for a better start to our vacation. Note: The pickup spot may be a little different than listed. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to make sure you arrive on time.
Our boat Captain was Ninnie. He was so funny. Very very knowledgable on the history of the local area and the whole of Sicily. He was also able to answer all of our questions. I took notes in my phone and he helped me with the spelling as well. We would highly recommend this tour.
My friend and I a great time on the boat with Nunzio. He was professional, knowledgeable and funny. Highly recommend!!!
It was nice to see the island from the water and the caves were pretty cool. The driver of the boat was very nice but didn't speak English well and offered very little information about what we were seeing on the coastline. It was more like a boat ride than a tour. Really a little disappointing since our time was limited and we probably could have had a better experience and learned more about the area on a 2-hour land tour.
Just so-so and expensive, We were a group of 4 and only got a half a plastic cup of prosecco, not sure what they did with the other half of the bottle when we left. Fruit was just a few peaches and grapes. We thought it was expensive for what we got. Suggest comparing prices when you are there, as this was just a ride on a fishing boat with just a few sips of prosecco at the end. Guide’s English was hard to understand
Great boat tour! Ninni was a great Captain, giving us a great history of Ortega and Siracusa over the year and some Sicilian culture. If we wanted to we had the opportunity to swim but we had a fancy dinner reservation right after and not enough time to change (our issue, not the tour) so we chose to not swim. We saw a few caves, the two ports, and chose the time to see a beautiful sunset. So much fun! I would also advise the meeting point is a booth on the opposite corner from the physical address- which we should have realized. Once spotted the crew promptly walked us to the boat (it would be very easy to get lost which is why the meeting spot) and put us into Ninni’s great hands.
Wonderful, warm, and understanding. Beautiful scenery, great guide. This is a great way to get a different view of Ortiga and enjoy being on the water.
HIGHLY recommend this tour! The staff was extremely friendly and professional and the boat was clean and perfect for our tour to the caves. Diego was amazing at navigating the water and caves to make the entire ride smooth. It was one of the best tours I have done in Sicily thus far!
This was a super, great experience. Our guide Lucia shared so many nice stories about Siracusa and the boat captain Diego was excellent. So nice to see the city from the sea and to explore inside the caves and the nature reserve area. 10/10 experience and a must do while in the area.
What a spectacular way to end our special time in Syracusa! Ninni was an amazing skipper who guided us through a magical evening with beautiful scenery, superb swims and history. We enjoyed every minute of our boat trip. Thank you to the team for great organization, Sicilian treats and prosecco. To Ninni, we rate you 7 stars 🥰
Ninni our captain was amazing. He lives in ortigia and he was very knowledgeable, funny and very sweet. The route was great, showed us a different perspective of the island. Having procesco in the water was really a great touch. Also the surprise treats! .
You should go with at least 6 people (friends would be best), so you can interact. Ninni tried, but was hard-pressed to entertain a couple. It was rather awkward with only 2 of us. Look for something better! Sorry, Ninni! I know you wanted a better review, but that was a lot of money!!
Great fun! Otto provided some historic detail but more importantly, took us to some great spots to jump in the water! Recommend
Alejandro was an excellent sailor as well as tour guide. Friendly, informative and spoke English far better than we spoke Italian. Great way to see and understand Ortegia!
Nini was so fun and very knowledgeable! I highly recommend him! Would definitely do it again. We did the private two hour tour.
This was awesome! The guide was fantastic and the scenery was out of this world. If you have the time, seeing things by boat can’t be beat.
Our boat trip with Ninni was fantastic ! His passion, knowledge & boatmanship was the best, but his humour was the icing on the cake. We would highly recommend this experience.
We had a great 2 hours on board Ninni's boat. He was a great storyteller and shared lots of interesting facts about the area and gave some recommendations for the rest of our stay. A bottle of prosecco and snacks were provided which made the experience even more enjoyable.
Great way to end an adventure in Ortigia & Siracusa! Our guide, Ninni, was very engaging, kind & knowledgeable. We enjoyed the ride, conversation and antipasto (provided by Ninni) with Prosecco. Would recommend this excursion
I spent 3 wonderful days in Ortigia for my birthday, a gift from my husband, and the best moment was definitely the boat excursion with Siracuse Excursion. I want to compliment the whole staff, in particular Franco, who was driving. Even though the sea was a bit rough, with him we felt almost nothing. He always made us feel safe. A very good person, very knowledgeable, polite and very kind. The guide was Gabriele, very knowledgeable and super nice. He managed to engage us. He knows the history in the smallest detail and told us anecdotes and legends that touch your heart. Thanks to him, we visited places I will never forget: the Stalactite Cave, the Coral Cave, the rocks with incredible shapes that look like animals, and much more. The most exciting moment? The heart-shaped cave, perfect for lovers. I highly recommend this excursion to anyone coming to Syracuse/Ortigia. It was the highlight of my birthday. Thanks again to Franco and Gabriele from Siracuse Excursion for making this day special 💙
Thank you to frederico for this nice walk and his kindness! We made this moment for our honeymoon and we are delighted to have chosen this activity that was perfect! Looking forward to returning to Syracuse and sailing again with your company! Mary and Matthew
Enchanted by the beauties that the Syracuse coast offers and pleasantly cheered by the stories of Nunzio, in our excellent captain. Beautiful experience
Beautiful tour, good explanations. Perfect for couples. Skipper very prepared (cannot remember the name) and friendly staff already at the reception Very good
Great tour, city view from the sea...recommended! Despite the rough seas, it was a pleasant tour ended with a final aperitif at (almost) sunset
We chose this excursion for my family's birthday. The sunset option was beautiful. They also gave us the opportunity to bring some of our own desserts on board. Friendly and always available staff, knowledgeable and attentive skipper. Everything really organized very well. They even took a photo of us Thank you
beautiful experience, excellent Prosecco. We did a full tour and had a great time
Initially a mistake on their part (private tour booked, were classified in a group tour) but after asking if this was a private tour they more than made up for everything.
All beautiful. We were a group of 8 and had a great time. Unique and enchanting landscapes. We also made a bathroom stop and the captain told us a lot about the places visited. When I return to Syracuse I will definitely do it again
