Palermo Sicilian Cooking Class With A Well-known Italian Chef

What a fantastic evening! Andreas was understanding when our arrival was delayed and greeted us warmly! We loved the cooking lesson and of course the resulting meal. And we learned a lot! Everything from the various oil smoke points to how to get bubbles on the cannoli shells! Both Andres and Alessandra are warm, welcoming and a lot of fun. A great evening; highly recommended.

Andrea and his wife were absolutely fantastic and gracious! The experience was mostly hands on while learning so much about authentic Sicilian cuisine and culture. He was knowledgeable and made the entire experience fun and entertaining. Come hungry the food is delicious and was awesome to enjoy the meal with them.

This was such a authentic and nice experience! Andrea and his wife welcomed us with open arms. The whole time we felt like we were among friends and that they genuinely like to do this and cared about us having a good time! We had a FANTASTIC experience with Andreas and his lovely wife. The class in their home felt like we were visiting old friends. The instructions and demonstrations were easy to follow and the active participation in the preparation was great. Our dinner with Andreas was the highlight of our time spent in Palermo.

Your adventure starts literally in the chef’s home. Andrea and his wife supply all needed ingredients in their private kitchen. We all cook together. Perfect for a couple or four people total. A totally fun and educational experience. Best of all, when all the cooking is done, you all sit down together for a magnificent dinner you’ve prepared! And they take care of the cleanup!

We highly recommend Andrea’s cooking class — it was the best experience of our entire honeymoon in Sicily and so much fun. Thanks to Andrea‘s and his wife Alessandra’s warm hospitality, we felt right at home and had a fantastic evening. In total, we cooked four dishes (Caponata, Pasta alla Norma, Involtini, and Cannoli for dessert), and it was sooo delicious — the best meal of our entire vacation. Andrea explained the recipes really well and made everything very entertaining with his funny personality. We can’t wait to recreate all these dishes at home. We thought this was the perfect introduction to Sicilian cuisine and family life. The family was incredibly warm and welcoming. There was ample opportunities to participate in the cooking itself, and of course the food was as delicious as could be. We recommend this to anyone interested in getting a slice of Palermo life.

My wife and I met Andrea at his lovely home here in Palermo. We had been on day 14 of a 16 day trip in Italy and have had many wonderful experiences but none as good as this one. Andrea had a four course meal all prepared for us. He sat us down in his kitchen, explained what we were going to have, and then with a smile on his face, had us cook all four meals together. He has a wonderful style of humor and education. He spent 10 years as the Exec chef at a world class restaurant in Japan, which just added depth and intrigue to the conversation since both my wife and I have spent a lot of time in Japan and understand their culture. Andrea and his wife were such incredible hosts for us. Our conversation went from personal to food to professional very smoothly and there wasn’ta minute where I wasn’t pinching myself about how much fun this is and what a great unique and local experience we were having. This is not the traditional touristy thing to do when you’re visiting Sicily so I can’t recommend this experience enough. Here are some really fun photos and videos that Andrea‘s wife took of us. Thank you again for a memorable time together. And the leftover cannolis the next morning were amazing!

It was an amazing experience to be welcomed into Andrea’s home for a personal cooking class. We learned to prepare the entire meal and had fun doing it. There were only 2 other couples so it was a nice intimate setting. After preparing the meal we all sat down to a really nice dinner. This is a true hands on class that will show you exactly how to prepare a 4 course meal. Highly recommend if you are in Palermo Sicily.

We felt welcome into Andrea's home right away, and like we were having a meal with family. We learned new techniques and preparation of ingredients as well as some history of the Sicilian ingredients. After the cooking lesson we sat down to a multicourse meal of some of the best food I've ever eaten. Thanks for the special meal and great company!

This was a fantastic experience. We had a wonderful Sicilian meal in Andrea’s home and were hands on in the preparation. All the Sicilian stars featured - caponata, pasta Norma, stuffed pork loin and cannoli. There were only six of us in the class and we sat down with great company for a shared meal at the end with local wine.

We had a great evening with Andrea. He was a generous host and an excellent and entertaining teacher. The meal we prepared under his guidance, and ate with him and his charming wife and our fellow students from across the globe, was truly delicious and consisted of dishes that we can hopwfully replicate at home.

We had a wonderful time learning about some traditional Sicilian cooking and was the right amount of instruction and working hands-on with the ingredients. Best of all was the explanation of why something was done the way it was. Afterwards we all enjoyed eating our creations and getting to know each other.

This cooking class was the highlight of our trip to Palermo! Chef Andrea (and his lovely wife Alessandra ) shared his culinary expertise and the traditions of Sicilian cuisine in the warmth of his own home. One of our best experiences in Italy. Spending time with Chef Andrea at his house and having him teach us how to cook was simply wonderful. He taught us some excellent recipes and techniques. Breaking bread at his home enjoying conversation, food and laughs cannot be described.

We had a wonderful time with Chef Andrea and his wife- learning to make some amazing Sicilian dishes. They also accommodated our request to make it a vegetarian dinner- a four course meal with some fresh ingredients and a very patient chef who took the time to explain the intricacies of these delicious dishes to us! The Sicilian hospitality was also so nice as it was our first evening in palermo and we were able to experience some a warm , hearty and genuine experience with chef, his wine and the three cats:) highly recommend as an experience!

Andrea and Alessandra were so welcoming and added heart to a great evening! Not to mention, we were given great tips on Sicilian cooking secrets! We will be recreating these wonderful dishes for friends and family as soon as we return home. I couldn’t believe we made cannoli from scratch! I had a wonderful cooking lesson in the home of Chef Andrea. He was professional and funny and full of enthusiasm for all his guests. We made caponato, pasta Norma, stuffed pork and canoli. And then we ate it and it was an excellent meal. Wine flowed generously as well. We were a class of nine people from all parts of the world and Chef was a great ambassador for Palermo. This cooking class was the highlight of our visit here

The family was wonderful and it was nice to eat in their home with them. It was very entertaining and the Sicilian food was delicious. I love to cook and learn new techniques. We shared our experience with a couple from the Netherlands and a group from Canada. We truly enjoyed the experience and recommend it highly.

A true highlight of our trip to Palermo! Having the one on one experience with Andrea and his wife will be a night we will not forget! It was just two of us and two of them and a very hands-on experience in the comfort of their home. The food was amazing! We ate together around their table and chatted about our families and travel. My family and I had a great time. Andria met us at the door with bigs hugs. The cooking experience was out of this world. Chef made us all participate in the cooking from our appetizers to our dessert. We made everything. Chef and his wife made us feel at home and when sat down to eat what we made it was delicious. There is also an outdoor terrace where we enjoyed local wine (also delicious and made by a friend of the chef) in between courses. We learned how to make each dish and made a few new friends in the process. Once the cooking was completed we sat at the family table to eat together.
