An absolute highlight of our trip to Palermo. Walking through the vibrant local market with a passionate local chef is an experience that awakens all the senses. Colours, aromas, voices, and flavours surround you as you discover the real soul of the city, far from tourist clichés. The chef guides you through the stalls with confidence and warmth, explaining ingredients, traditions, and stories behind Sicilian food culture. You taste incredible local products, meet friendly vendors, and learn how to choose the best ingredients like a true local. The atmosphere is lively yet personal, energetic but never rushed. It feels exclusive and authentic at the same time, like being shown Palermo by a knowledgeable friend who truly loves this city. This is not just a market tour, it’s a deep cultural immersion into Sicilian life and cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience Palermo with all five senses. A must do!

What a great day. Private tour with a local chef who knows everything about Palermo. Walked the city and stopped at some amazing sites then ate great food in the market at local street vendors and the oldest pub. He was so knowledgeable and knew where to go. Highly recommended
This was the best tour ever! Jen and I loved every moment - Fulvio was the perfect guide with his knowledge and expertise about Palermo and foods and wines. We highly recommend and wish we could have stayed to do a cooking class. We even tried to be brave eating some of the local cuisine! Thanks Fulvio!
This tour just gets better and better. This is my second time doing this tour and Fulvio is amazing. Highly recommend to anybody visiting Palermo. Great food great drinks a great time. Thank you again 1 million times Fulvio
Best street food tour! Fulvio is awesome and great company! I highly recommend doing the tour with him since he is very knowledgeable about the food and culture of Palermo. I also recommend going on an empty stomach since you will be eating TONS of delicious foods
We had a great time! The tour was personal, very enjoyable ánd tasty! We will definitely recommended this tour to our family and friends.
A really enjoyable morning! Fulvio the Chef was a brilliant tour guide who showed us lots of weird and wonderful traditional Italian food from the markets. We didn't like all the food but there was such a good amount and a wide selection that we were stuffed by the end! You get a really good value for money in food drinks and experience. Fulvio also had a lot of knowledge about the area, telling us interesting stories about the history of Palermo including the mafia, the fountain and the old town square. Taking the tour with a local is highly recommended as we were taken to places that tourists wouldn't usually go. By the end we were a little bit hot and bothered so make sure you wear plenty of sunscreen, drink plenty of water and wear a sunhat to protect yourself! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone else who wanted to try something fun interesting and different!
We enjoyed an excellent tour with Fulvio through the back streets and markets of Palermo. We savored samples of food that we would not have tried otherwise, and overall had an enjoyable tour. There was ample food, and lots to see and take-in in the colorful markets of the City. Fulvio was knowledgeable on both food and history, and overall our experience was excellent. We too had a little trouble finding the meeting spot, as another reviewer mentioned. There is not a green pharmacy sign, but rather a group of shops across from the steps of the Theater Massimo (that has a Cannabis sign presently). That should be corrected in TripAdvisor and is not the tour leader's fault. I highly recommend this tour.
It is unfortunate that we did not have the positive experience written about by the other reviewers. In fact, we had no experience at all. We were told to meet at a pharmacy across the street from a landmark. Specifically, we would know the pharmacy by its green cross. We spent an hour looking for the tour without success. We canceled and later saw that the address for the meeting spot was not a pharmacy and did not have a green cross. A frustrating and wasted morning.
Fulvio gave an amazing tour of Palermo that incorporated history, culture, and food. The highlights included the Baroque church (San Joseph’s) and and the “Shame fountain.” The food was all around incredible and included interesting and authentic street food only found in Palermo. Bring your appetite! Fulvio’s sense of humor and openness to talking about some of the developments and challenges in Palermo is what made this tour special. Would recommend it to anyone looking to experience real Palermo.
We tried a fantastic variety of local street foods and snacks, each more exciting than the last. Fulvio never fails to entertain, and with his commentary and guidance I felt I had an authentic and delicious taste of Sicily.
Fulvio’s street tour is amazing. He catered to everyone’s taste. The food was extraordinary. Some of the best food that I have tasted. Definitely would recommend to any one
Amazing way to see the area. Great food options as well. We were all vegetarian and he catered to tha
Fulvio was so knowledgeable and fun! His expertise on the history of Palermo and it’s cuisine was impressive. We tasted and learned so much and our tour with Fulvio was a highlight of our time in Sicily. Highly recommend!
Our guide was Fulvio, a chef who also does cooking experiences in his own home, so was well versed in how good Sicilian food should be. Fulvio was a great guide, friendly and laid back. We did quite a bit of walking but was at a fairly gentle pace and the chatting made the time fly! We sampled a variety of street food including arancini, panelle, sfincione and croquettes. My favourite was the ricotta & herb sandwich. We also had the chance to try the famous spleen & lung sandwich - my husband was eager to try this, but I was not! After some encouragement I am proud to say that I did try it! I particularly enjoyed visiting the market, seeing ricotta being made and watching the stall holders shouting in the traditional way to draw attention to their wares. The tour ended with a stop at a gelateria which was amazing. We even went back for more gelato the next day. Along the way Fulvio shared some stories about the history of some of the famous monuments in Palermo and we got to have a look inside a couple of pretty churches and a gallery of the work of a local sculptor as well as seeing the original city doors. This gave us a great taste of the city and Fulvio recommended some places we should explore if we had time. After telling him we struggled to find good tea in Sicily he told us about a Chinese tea shop which which turned out to be a great recommendation! A good length tour and being in the morning left us the afternoon to explore more. The only thing to note was that the meeting point mentioned on our booking (a pharmacy) no longer exists, but if you go to the address listed you will be in the right place, we had no problems. We arrived early and Fulvio was already there. Thank you!
We had a great time on this tour. The guide was excellent and very knowledgeable about the area and the food markets. We tasted all different kinds of food and had a nice lunch at a local spot. A lot of walking but the pace was slow enough that we didn't notice how far we had walked.
Roby showed me the back streets of Palermo that you wouldn't normally get to see if you were on your own. I tried all of the foods presented to me and loved getting a chance to see and talk to the food and store holders. This was a great experience and definitely one that I will never forget!
Upon arriving at our designated meeting point, the dress and other details didn't seem to match. We noticed this gentleman standing at the specified location so we approach him and walla! Fulvio. He was apologetic for the misinformation on the website and ticket and assured us that it had been updated. We're off. He led us thru many side streets and food stands. We got a very good understanding of Palermo history and food. As it turns out, he is a private chef who does cooking and classes at his apartment. We experienced a number of traditional Sicilian street foods - except the spleen sandwich - and learned a great deal about Fulvio and the city. All in all a great day. Well worth the time and expense.
The walking tour was fabulous! Fulvio and his assistant are so lovely and knowledgeable. It was the first time I visited Palermo, and I’ve learned so much about this city from them. We also had a lot of delicious street food on that day! I highly recommend it!
Our guide went put of her way to accommodate our requests. It is a scenic tour including 2 lively markets which happen to be in the center of the old town.
A perfect introduction to the street foods of Palermo with Fulvio, a very knowledgable and charming guide. He provided us with a lot of Italian cultural awareness as well. Highly recommended!
We loved this day! It was far more than a street food tour. Fulvio and his assistant Roberta showed us many interesting places including two important markets - la Vuccirea and Ballarò. They were extremely knowledgeable about the history of Palermo and shared many fascinating facts with us in a fun and approachable way. It was wonderful to sample the street food! I am vegetarian, yet there was plenty for me to eat. My husband and I were the only two on the tour and it felt like spending the day with friends. Fulvio and Roberta were enthusiastic and great fun to be with!
Amazing street food walking tour in Palermo. Fulvio made us feel ike family while touring beautiful historic centre of Palermo, the amazing Ballaro market and other must-see sites and other less well-known location (however also very beautiful and interesting). The tour included delicious local food (quality and quantity), great gelato, and local beer. Altogether excellent value for money. Thank you and grazie to Fulvio for the great time in Palermo. Would highly recommend this tour to friends and family.
I booked this tour for 5 June but the operator cancelled it as they said they did not take solo bookings, but they did take my money. Although they promised a refund after cancellation, I have never received it., so i was not only disappointed to not have the tour on my first day in Palermo but I am also out of pocket for £49.28.
Fulvio was a great guide and this tour was only me and two other people so it felt more like a morning wander with a couple of friends. We saw the historic centre of Palermo and Fulvio took us to some of the more obscure but beautiful churches. The tour included some local food and wine and fortified wine and was good value for money when you take that into consideration.
Our guide Fulvio was fantastic and would highly recommend this tour. Fulvio was very helpful in all aspects
Loved this tour, we had a short but fun walking tour to start the evening with lots of local facts. Then stopped for great street food and wine. Great way to start our trip.
This street fod tour was just an amazing experience. Our tour guide did a wonderfull job and let us see Palermo through the eyes of a local. Loved every minute of it!
We booked this tour after reading some reviews - and we were not disappointed! There were 7 in our group and our guide, Fulvio, was absolutely charming. We went through markets and he pointed out historical places throughout- we even had the chance to go into some of the churches. Fulvio was so laidback and easy - he wanted to make sure we all had a great experience- and he added wine to enhance the tour! The food was wonderful- arancina, artichokes, deep fried cauliflower and more - so good! Thankfully we got to walk after eating as we were all stuffed and after a bit made space for gelato ;) Would highly suggest this tour and especially our guide, Fulvio di Cicero!
Fulvio showed up early for our tour which was great. It was a great tour of street food and the history of Palermo. We walked all over the place and went to numerous churches ( not all 297!). Fulvio is a native and he had much to tell and convey to us about the past and present. We went to the market and ate pizza, stopped at another place for arancini (rice ball), chick pea "bread" and croquettes. All downed with great Sicilian wine! We ended the tour with the best gelato! It had a cone full of chocolate goodness with a cookie on top. I recommend this tour for those who enjoy learning about the history of Palermo and eating good down home Sicilian street food.

We had a great time, my husband and I and another couple. We are vegetarian but still had masses to eat, we had a lot of fun and got a lot of info both on the food and on the City. We usually do a food tour whatever city we are in as it explains the food and gives a good insight into the city.

Great opportunity to experience authentic Palermo Street Food! Tried many different kinds of street food and food I would never think to try myself! Enjoyed seeing the Palermo Street Market and watching the locals in their every day routines.

This tour was fantastic. Our tour guide, Georgio, gave us a great guide with the history, culture and life of Palermo. We were part of a small group, only one other couple, which was very personal and made for a great time. Georgio was was such a good sport sharing his love of the street food.

Palermo spectacular with its historic markets and a thousand goodies to eat ... and then there is Fulvio : histrionic, nice, prepared!
