Itinerary
Since 1947, this renowned Palermo eatery is famous for its traditional fried specialties. Taste panelle (chickpea fritters) and crocchè (mashed potato croquettes), classic local snacks; a true Sicilian street food experience.
The Arch of Cutò is an ancient monument in Palermo, dating back to the 13th century. It is part of the Palazzo Cutò and it's one of the main entrances of Ballarò Market.
Visit a beloved Palermo bakery, running for 56 years and celebrated even by the NY Times! The chef will prepare two types of sfincione: the Palermitano with tomatoes and caciocavallo cheese, and the Bagherese with tuna, cheese and onions.
Arancina is the most famous street food in Palermo. In this old pharmacy, Anna has opened a small bistrò where the food is prepared fresh everyday and arancine are nice and round, as they should be!
One of Palermo’s most striking historic squares, just steps from Quattro Canti. At its center stands the Fontana Pretoria, a 16th-century Renaissance fountain originally made in Florence and later transported to Palermo in 644 individual pieces.
Enjoy a cannolo espresso at a hidden pastry stop inside a former monastery. Watch as one of Palermo’s best cannoli is filled fresh on the spot with creamy ricotta and finished with pistachio, chocolate chips, and candied fruit.
This square is a unique intersection of history and it's most famous for housing two UNESCO World Heritage churches side-by-side, each representing the city's Arab-Norman heritage.
We will end our tour with a coffee stop, in this 100 years old roastery. Casa Stagnitta is a reference to locals when it comes to good coffee and pastries.

Innocenzo was a very knowledgeable guide, providing so much more than a food tour. His historical knowledge is extensive and his delivery engaging. The food provided was top notch. Would recommend.
Innocenzo was very personable and knowledgeable about the history of Palermo! I highly recommend this tour.
We really enjoyed our Palermo Ballaro Market & Street Food Tour with Inno. He was an excellent guide - friendly, knowledgable and relaxed. The experience was the perfect introduction to Palermo, and we sampled some of the best Sicilian food. I would not have enjoyed Palermo as much without Inno as our guide. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
Our guide, Giusi, was incredible!! She was extremely knowledgeable and took us to many places we never would have been able to experience. The food at each stop was amazing, and learning the culture behind each stop made it even more enjoyable! We couldn’t recommend this tour around Palermo enough!
Our guide, Inno, was very entertaining and knowledgeable. He gave us lots of historical information about Palermo which was interesting. The food along the way was tasty and varied. Each dish had a story. We thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely recommend
Inno was so informative and our 3 hour journey flew by.

Giusi was amazing. Very sweet lady, very informative and a great tour guide very easy to understand. It was like walking around with a long time friend. Each stop had the most delish food and very memorable.
Best food tour ever!!! Giusi planned a wonderfully curated and well thought out day in Palermo. She was attentive and chose family owned, off the beaten path selections that gave us the best of the best!!! Do not hesitate! Great food, Palermo history and stories of food origin…all fantastic! Thank you, Giusi!
Giusi was an amazing tour guide. Took us off the beaten path to places and experiences we’d never find on our own. Giusi also seemed to know everyone in the city. Felt like we were getting a tour of a new city from a friend. Can’t recommend enough!

Inno was a great guide! Very informative and took us to lots of places we wouldn’t have gone to.
We had a fantastic time on this tour and would highly recommend! The tour is a great blend/balance of food, history, and culture. Innocenzo (Inno) was a great guide, super knowledgeable, friendly, and kind; he really made the experience special and easy. The tour also gave us a lot of background and context on WWII, the history of Palermo, and certain things we noticed around the city but didn't fully understand until Inno explained the context. This food tour has made us want to do more tours like this in the future. Grazie mille!
Inno was an extremely knowledgeable and delightful tour guide, mixing a much-needed historical context with a gastronomic experience. He accomodated my vegetarian needs, happily. I recommend this tour with Inno 110%!!! Aloha!!
Innocent was sooo fun! Highly recommend! Food & history was amazing 👏

Inno was terrific! He gave a great historical tour. I am so full!
Inocencio was a great guide, very knowledgeable about Palermo and its foods. The tour was part tour, part food and part touring historical sites not usually seen.
Innocenzo was our guide and was informative and fun allowing us plenty of time at each stop which has not always been the case on other tours around the world. We also particularly liked having separate portions of food per couple / each and having a drink at each stop. We certainly feel it delivered what it said it would in terms of experiencing Sicilian street food. Would thoroughly recommend.
A Wonderful tour. Our guide, Innocenzo was an entertaining font of knowledge. Great food and an excellent your of the market
Amazing experience with Alessia!!! 10/10 would recommend.
Alessia was such a knowledgeable, nice, and accommodating guide. We learned so much about Palermo and its food culture, from the pizza to the arancini to the cannoli to the espresso. The walk through Ballaro market gave us a sense of the vibrancy of Palermo and its people. Most importantly Alessia treated my young daughters as members of the tour and encouraged them to try everything we ate. This was a true growth experience for them!
Inno was our guide and was amazing! So much local knowledge & colour of Palermo. A great way to immerse yourself in the local scene of Palermo.
Outstanding tour! Innocenzo was knowledgeable, personable and great guide. Local history is an added value to the awesome food. Would definitely do again.

This is an awesome way to explore authentic Palermo. I highly recommend this tour; amazing food and a great way to see the city and markets.
The best way to see Palermo, all the highlights, the market, and enjoy all the local foods. I went with my three kids, and they enjoyed every single stop. It was perfect timing to enjoy the rest of the day. A must do!
Our tour with Inncenzo was amazing. He was so passionate and knowledgeable about Palermo and its rich history and culture. The food stops were all different and equally delicious. We would definitely recommend!!
This was an excellent tour and I cannot recommend it enough! Our guide Giusi was a Sicilian native and so she could relate the food we sampled to Sicilian culture generally and also to her own childhood food experiences and memories. She has also been a professional cook and so could explain how the dishes were prepared. It was very hot on the day of our tour and she was very good at getting us tables in the shade to eat our samples. That alone was amazing! She knew all the vendors of our food and they clearly knew and liked her. All of the vendors and/or their families had been producing their specialties for at least 50 years. The food itself was plentiful. For the savory dishes we had two different versions to compare. All the food was bursting with flavor! (There is a list of the specific food on Eating Europe’s website) We had a beverage at every stop, including two different kinds of soda. The sodas added a nice extra dimension to the tour. We also really appreciated the cold bottled water on such a hot day. The espresso at the end was the best I have had in Italy. I really cannot recommend this tour enough!
Inno was an awesome guide and educated & fed our family of 8 all the best of Palermo, so much to learn & eat, we enjoyed every minute of our tour and highly recommend!
It was a great time touring Sicily and eating the local foods. we had the best guide! Worth the money - you don’t just get food but some history of Sicily
