The company delivered almost none of what it promised when we booked. The guide was hired from another company. He was a nice man but irresponsible as a guide. By the time we reached the mountain station (at about 2,900 meters), there was a howling wind, temperatures around 0 Celsius, and thickening fog. There was no pleasure in the hike and plenty of peril. We asked if we could return but the guide insisted that we must press on. By the time we made it to the top, visibility was down to 3 meters (10 feet). We had a good view of our own feet but nothing else. We saw nothing of mountain, crater, let alone the views you see on the website. Several of us lost sight of the guide and were afraid of losing their way in the storm. What is worse, a member of our group collapsed several times and could hardly get on his feet. The guide still pressed on. Later he admitted that the tour should never have taken place under these conditions. Etna Tribe took no responsibility for anything. The company is obviously not responsible for the weather but it is responsible for the safe conduct of the tours. Here it failed completely, presumably to avoid reimbursing us for any part of the hefty fee we paid. I would never use this company again.

Itinerary
Experience an exhilarating trek to the top craters of Mount Etna, one of Europe's most famous and active volcanoes! Take a scenic cable car ride—or a thrilling combo of cable car and 4x4 bus (for the 3300m option)—to reach higher altitudes and the starting point of your adventure. The cable car offers breathtaking views, while the off-road vehicle takes you across rugged terrain, bringing you even closer to the summit. Guided by an expert Alpine guide, you’ll ascend to the highest permitted altitudes, immersing yourself in the raw beauty of this volcanic giant. The descent on foot leads you back to 2,500m a.s.l., where the cableway awaits to return you to the meeting point. For this tour, it's recommended to be a regular walker, as the difficulty level is moderate. For safety reasons, the guide may modify, interrupt or cancel the experience at any time, including without prior notice, whenever weather, volcanic activity or other conditions make it necessary.

Our guide was really knowledgeable about Mount Etna, volcanoes and geology. Learned a lot! The hike up and down Mount Etna was tough as I wasn’t well prepared but I still a really wonderful experience. Our guide also brought us to a lava cave - it was my first time in such a cave and learning about the formation etc was fascinating. The tasting was a bonus. I don’t drink but found the various wines and liqueurs interesting. The jams and olive oils were also amazing! Taomina was a nice stroll… pretty and cosy town. Nice end to the tour.
Our guide Claudio was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Great views!
Went with bruna and I have to say she is a wonder tour guide there was 3 different language in the tour , English , French and Italian and did each one like a master ! I really enjoyed this tour and how she explained things , i would recommend this tour and her as a guide
Edo is an amazing guide! Very knowledgeable and passionate about Mount Etna. I highly recommend Edo.
I was disappointed there was no actual lava spewing from the volcano when we visited so it was a good job our tour guide Enzo was so knowledgeable and affable to make up for it. It was an extremely educational and fun day out and the food at the wine tasting place was fantastic too. Overall a great value experience would certainly recommend for other first time visitors.
What a day! Couldn’t have been better...we had a tour with Luca who took us to the summit crater and central crater. We saw lava spouting from the summit which was amazing. The weather was perfect and Luca was so knowledgeable in explaining the geology and history of mount etna. We were treated to the best views of Sicily and mainland Italy. We were super well looked after (safety being priority) with safety gear and boots etc. We were very apprehensive about what to expect going to an active Vulcano summit but the whole experience was professional, safe and exciting. We learnt so much, plus it was so much fun! One of the best experiences I’ve ever had.
There are many tours to Etna but this is absolutely the RECCOMENDED ONE. Well organized, expert and passionate guide (they gave us trekking shoes and jackets: very appreciate). The beautiful landscape did the rest.... I also rented a bike to continue my tour of Sicily by bike: perfect equipment, tips and useful maps....
Spent a wonderful time in Sicily in September 2016 and was lucky to take the Etna tour with Franco Mazza, a great guide who told us the very interesting facts about the history of Sicily on the wat to Etna. The excursion was perfectly organised and this fantastic experience and memories will be with me forever
We saw the top of Mt Etna with Luigi. He was a very knowledgeable and engaging guide. We had the most wonderful day. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience. I can strongly recommend this tour to the top of Etna. It was well organized, the guides are very helpful, they speak English and French besides Italian. We felt ourselves safe all through the journey. Around the end of the tour a storm came and they professionally brought everyone down safe and sound. Really professional and friendly guys.
Well-organized tour - there were no hidden costs when I booked. Pickup and transfer went smoothly. Emiliano was a very friendly and competent guide - you can tell that he loves his job and Mount Etna. Unfortunately, we could not go to the summit because of the volcanic activity, but the tour was still very interesting and beautiful.
Great view and impressive nature experience. Guiseppe was a dedicated guide who liked to share his knowledge. Recommended.
We went up by cable car and booked them the excursion with a guide. We climbed on foot up to 2970 unfortunately it was not possible to go further for safety reasons.... he began to shake again! Thanks to the guide Tiziana who made us visit the various craters and explained how the activity of the volcano changes the territory and the mountain.
Very professional Guide whose name I do not remember, nice and exhaustive in describing the "journey" to the Sapienza refuge. Beautiful visit to the cave and excellent tasting of products in the local company.
Beautiful excursion to the top of Etna: having reached the Sapienza refuge, we took the cable car and then the hummer buses to reach an altitude of 2,900 m and lower 'A Montagna' in all its splendor. We were accompanied by Peppe, a very good and highly trained guide, who entertained us for the entire duration of the journey from Catania to the Sapienza refuge with accurate explanations and anecdotes about the history of Sicily. Upon returning from the tour he then took us to the Etna Enoteca for a tasting of typical products. I recommend to everyone!! Irene and Alex from Mantua
Enjoy!
The competence and the exhaustive answers to the information on Etna .what you visit you must first respect them because nature gives us and takes us away
We were warned at the very last minute that the summit was not accessible. Of course we paid less than expected but it is still a small disappointment. Otherwise, the hike up to 2940 m was interesting, the guides get impathic, but the pace can be a bit fast, and not taking too much account of the physical condition of everyone. Overall a pretty good experience.
Pietro, Francesco and Mario are precious guides, attentive, caring and brimming with knowledge. We couldn’t have dreamed better to get as close as possible to the active crater of Mount Etna! I recommend, as a couple, with friends, with children or teenagers! The equipment is provided (hiking boots, backpack, jacket ..) if you left a little light do not hesitate!
A fabulous experience accompanied by 2 very attentive guides and seeking to share his passion. I recommend 200%
