Mt. Etna Nature And Flavors Half Day Tour From Catania

I had only booked the basic tour but I ended up doing the cable car and 4 wheel drive. It was an amazing experience. The guide Nachos was amazing, his knowledge and experience was excellent. He made sure that everyone in the group felt included. He was very informative on other places to explore close to our vicinity.

Itala showed us an amazing time and gave us such rich history of Etna. It was the perfect length of time to still allows us to spend the day looking at other things in Catania.

Italia was amazing! Very nice and super informative about the volcano! You could tell that she has a huge passion for it and for showing people the volcano! 10/10 recommend!

This is a great tour because you have many options once you get to the parking area on Etna. Take the cable car up or 4 wheeler or hike on your own which we did with our guide Flavio. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. He picked up up close to our hotel in Catania on time

The tour was very enjoyable and dynamic. Even though we didn't use cable car (it was a option), on around 2000m you have plenty of scenery and terain to experience on Etna. I recommend to use some trail or running shoes, terain is demanding. Our tour guide Lorenzo was fantastic, very funny but also full with useful informarions. Riding with him to Mount Etna was excellent experience. There was plenty of nice stories, some funny some informative. I recommend this guide and also this tour. Cheers!

Our guided Mount Etna tour was one of the main highlights of our trip to Sicily. Our guide collected us from right outside our accommodation and ensured we were comfortable on our journey. We learned so much about how Mount Etna has shaped the city of Catania and the surrounding areas on the drive there. The views from Mount Etna were spectacular, and while our safety was prioritised the whole time, we didn’t feel like we missed out on anything and were able to see everything we wanted. My son especially loved exploring the lava caves! Our guide also accommodated the extra excursions offered on the day, including a beautiful tasting lunch in a nearby village. 10/10 trip that we will be recommending to our family and friends.

Alessandro was the most fantastic guide we could have asked for! He picked us up right outside our apartment and made sure we were comfortable. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Catania and the surrounding villages and his knowledge of Mt Etna was insurmountable. Alessandro also recommended the most wonderful tasting lunch and accommodated a stop for gelato on the way back to the city. Would highly recommend!

Our family of 4 had a wonderful day visiting Mt. Etna and the area. The cool air was a welcome relief from the sweltering heat, and the local food and wine tasting was enjoyable. Nando was the perfect guide!

Salvo was fantastic, he is a Mt Etna local and his enthusiasm & passion for this area is contagious. The mini van was modern and clean and fit 8 of us (max tour number) much faster than in a big bus. We selected quad bikes when we got up there which was enjoyable but the shared group was too big in my opinion (15 quad bikes) and took over an hour to get organised and take off. Last stop was at a winery in Ragalna which was stunning - we were given wine and food tasting from the region and could buy lunch if you want to. Highly recommend this tour and especially Salvo our guide.

The experience was amazing and was definetly worth the money. It took us half a day, but everything was greatly planned, so the time flew fast. We are very grateful to our tour guide Giuseppe Barbagallo, who is always very helpful, supportive and has great sense of humour. It was not overcrowded, so we could easily explore it. We had a very great time and the atmosphere in Etna, really reccomend it for everyone, who wishes to visit Etna and it's region.

Our visit to Mount Etna was definitely the highlight of our entire trip to Sicily. We had great weather conditions, and even saw some activity from the peak, making the experience very memorable. There was a little delay at pickup, but the Etna Tribe office was responsive and kept us updated. Thanks to our guide Stefano, who took good care of our small group. He provided excellent information all along, in Italian and English, and played music during our return trip. Everybody in our group opted for the additional cable car and 4X4 trip, which was the best part of the trip. The lava tube is an interesting stop, and the tasting that follows was beautifully arranged. It felt like a relaxed lunch with friends. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we are so glad we chose this trip. We will cherish these memories for a long time.

This was the highlight of our time in Catania. The half-day (closer to a full day) tour with Lorenzo was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, funny, warm and personable. He led us down into the lava caves and on a 2-hour hike through the lava fields, making sure that everyone in the group was comfortable with what they were doing. The time flew by. We could not have been happier.

Pick up and drop off from prearranged location was fine. The driver/ guide, Alessandro, was engaging and informative throughout, with excellent knowledge of the history and vulcanology of Mt Etna. English was the dominant language of our group and Alessandro was easy to understand. He managed to organise various options people preferred and I think the whole group were satisfied with their Etna experience choices. The tasting element seemed a bit too commercial for me and not so genuine an experience.

Our Mount Etna experience was absolutely wonderful and one of the highlights of our Sicily trip. The views were breathtaking, the entire tour was well organized, and the experience itself was unforgettable. What truly made the day special was our guide, Salvo R. He speaks excellent English, is incredibly knowledgeable, and has such a warm and friendly personality. He made the whole experience fun, pleasant, and engaging from start to finish. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it made a huge difference in the tour. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Sicily — and if you get Salvo R as your guide, you’re very lucky!

Lovely guide with reasonable English. First looked into a very short lava tube then went to cable car where there was an "opportunity" to go to top but very busy and it was cloudy at the top so impractical. Went instead on an interesting walk on lava dust trails around multiple craters. The views were spectacular. Then visited a shop for tastings and purchase opportunities; nicely done and no pressure. Back to Catania after about 5 hours. Pick up was very confusing with the email sent at booking time (3 months ago for us) giving completely different instructions to those received from TripAdvisor the day before. The email gave correct instructions!

A remarkable Etna tour: walking among dramatic recent craters and real volcanic terrain was unforgettable. Our guide was exceptionally good, attentive and thoughtful, and paid particular attention to my safety as we hiked up the south side of the volcano. A delicious tasting at a beautiful local enoteca with a shop full of amazing local produce completed an excursion I will never forget.

This was a great trip. Our guide was wonderful and super accommodating. We were able to do everything we wanted and it was a beautiful clear day.

Flavio was a wonderful tour guide and we had a great time! Packed in more than we expected - there were optional extras such as cable car to the summit, but very much worth it! Also much longer than half a day (in a good way).

Flavio, our Tour guide has told us a lot about the history of Catania and Mama Etna (Mnt. Etna). We had in a group of 8 very much fun and it was a pleasure to do this with Flavio. It was interesting, funny and tasty at the end with Sicily whine. Everybody should do this tour when visiting Catania.

This tour allowed me to experience exactly the amount of Etna that I wanted without having too much or too little time at the sites and without being too intense physical-wise. Lorenzo was a good guide as he was very informative but also funny and personable and made the tour feel relaxed. I also felt safe with his driving. Our walk on Etna was leisurely and low intensity allowing for plenty of views of the surroundings and discussion. I enjoyed the small lava cave stop. Finally, the tasting at the Enoteca exceeded my expectations by far. Their products (wine, honey, oil, etc) were exceptional and really highlighted the local ingredients of Etna. The staff was cheerful and made the experience pleasant, while the food was very good and prices were reasonable. I would definitely return there and bring family and friends along. Overall highly recommend this tour.

Great tour. Pickup was very punctual and easy instruction. The snow and Sunday made the visit a bit tricky but we were able to find parking on a busy day. The view on top was great. Unfortunately the cable car wasn’t operating due to the snow. The visit to the geological park was nice. The taste portion was very good too.

Took my 73 year old mother and it was a great tour! Our guide was very nice and went above and beyond with assisting my mother in the tough spots. The hiking was definitely doable and not difficult i would say easy to moderate. The tasting was very minimal almost 10 bites. So you would need to pay to order food if you are hungry after the hike. Overall great tour to see the volcano.

If I could give 10 stars I would. The passion and enthusiasm from the guide Enzo was like nothing I had seen before. I can only recommend. Place is amazing

Couldn't ask for a better guide, Florence is very knowledgeable and friendly. She made the group feel like we all knew each other for a long time, and even on a windy day she managed to show us all the important things you have to see. The tasting experience is a thing you have to do!!! Friendly staff, and all the products are blowing your mind!!!

We had an amazing time on this tour. Our guide Naldo was friendly and knowledgeable, and quite funny. We walked around the volcano and learned a lot about the lava, the plants, and even all the ladybugs. The cave was also very interesting, and we learned a lot about how it was made. The tasting at the end was also incredible, all the food and drinks were great. I highly recommend this tour!

We chose Etna Tribe after looking at lots of other options for a tour of Etna. For us, pickup and dropoff from our accommodations in Catania was appealing, and our tour group consisted of exactly eight people. Florence, our tour guide, was great from start to finish and gave us background info on the geology, plants and animals of the Etna region as we climbed towards Rifugio Sapienza, the starting point for the tour. The weather was cloudy and foggy, and Florence suggested it may not be a good idea to take the cable cars to high altitude, because there would be nothing to see. We did a guided hike from the Rifugio, and we saw several craters and the remains of recent lava flows, with Florence and her companion guide providing more information. After the Etna hike, we continued on to a wine shop for a wine and food tasting. Beforehand I was much more interested in Etna than the wine tasting, but I really enjoyed the breadth of Sicilian food and drink specialties we had a chance to try.

Enjoyed a day filled with activities. Easy pickup in Catania and transfer to mt etna. Chose to do the cable car (80 euro extra) which included the journey and a tour at the top of etna. Bruna was an awesome guide. Her high energy throughout the day was very much appreciated.

Pick-up was easy and smooth, and Claudio was such a gentleman throughout the day. In our group of 8, we were the only ones who chose the cable car and jeep experience. Claudio made sure we had our tickets and guided us in the right direction, which made everything stress-free. When we returned, the group was right there waiting for us, perfectly timed. The lava cave was another highlight, with a short but hike over the rocks. Stopping at the winery afterward was the perfect way to end the adventure relaxing with lunch, good wine, and great conversation with the group. Drop-off was just as seamless as pick-up. Overall, an amazing day that I would highly recommend!

Here's mama Etna . She comes alive with a tour leader (Bruna) who lives and breaths the mountain. You have to be lucky for the weather to be good. And we were. As we left, the rain came in and it would not have been so pleasant. We were in a group of 6 and the guide could switch effortlessly between English and French to make sure we all understood what we were looking at. The food and wine tasting was also really enjoyable. There was no high pressure sales pitch which was refreshing. You've really got to pick one of the options that takes you up higher to enjoy the day. The base package only gets you up to 1900 meters and you really need to get to two and a half thousand meters to get a feel for the mountain.
