I can't speak more highly about the quality of this excursion. Anyone visiting Sicily should consider this bucket list adventure. Our guide Lorenzo was brilliant. He picked us up right on time at 9.00 and for the next eight hours he kept us entertained, amused, informed and guided through the day. We started with a visit to a cave where we went underground into a tunnel carved out by a larva flow. Hard hats were provided!. Then on to a honey farm where we tasted several delicious honeys, some blended with fruit. My favourite - the sweet chestnut honey. Then on to Mt Edna. At that point the party divided. Four of us elected to take the cable car and 4 x4 further up the volcano. This cost quite a bit more but it was worth every penny for a once in lifetime event. The other four stayed with Lorenzo and he kept them busy by all accounts. We were guided for quite a strenuous walk up th volcano - perhaps not for those with any health issues or sufferers of vertigo. After meeting up with the rest of our party we went on to a vineyard for a modest wine and food tasting. We were also able to buy lunch dishes which were delicious. After the opportunity to buy wine and more honey - with no pressure to purchase - Lorenzo returned us to our hotels etc through a torrential downpour! A very memorable day.

We really enjoyed Spending time with Lorenzo who was friendly, attentive and had lots of good information and stories to tell. It was also nice to do this in a small group amongst whom we made some new friends
Pick up went smoothly and we were dropped off at the same spot. Our guide Lorenzo was amazing, told us many facts about Mount Etna, didn’t rush anyone and answered every question. Overall the tour was great, didn’t feel too short or too long, the hike itself wasn’t as hard as we expected.
The climb up Etna was pretty strenuous so people should be aware. The up charge for the ski lift should be noted in advance as it is not cheap. There was not enough time to have a bite to eat either before you go to the top or when you return, given the amount of time spent on the ski lift line and the line for the bus up the mountain. And it was pretty cold up on the mountain so people should be prepared for that.
Great day out. Pick up was where and when we'd been told to expect it and the ride was perfectly comfortable considering the heat when we were there. Only thing to be aware of is that the cost of the cable car and 4x4 to the summit is NOT included (roughly another 80 euros per person). Though our guide did get us through the queue to the cable car faster. Recommend this trip but be prepared to fork out the extra as it probably wouldn't be worth going if you don't go to the summit.
Daria, our guide was fabulous! She was so informative and very passionate about Mt Etna. We stilled and had lunch at a fabulous winery too!
The guide (Claudio)was very informative and nice small group of 8. Best to wear pants, good solid sneakers ( they provide hiking boots in advance) if you don’t have a jacket they will provide one for 5-10 Euros. Definitely take the tram up and then the heavy duty bus. There is an optional tour once there. Looks like you are on the moon!
Our tour was incredible. The landscape and serenity was something amazing and our experience was elevated to something we’ll never forget thanks to our guide Itala. We got to see different sections of Mt Etna, craters and taste some incredible food and drink from local producers.
Our trip was great! We got picked up at the nearest bust station which was right nextdoor of our hotel. We were with a group of 4 whick was very pleasent. Our tour guide Lory was great! She told a lot about the island, Mama Etna and the love for the island shone through it all. We knew upfront that any additional cost for further going up the Etna were at own costs. We chose to take a walk up the craters with her which was also a very good expierence. I am happy we didn't miss it. Many thanks to Lory for the great trip and care!
Florence was very intelligent, informative and personable. She provided us with a wonderful experience!
Amazing experience with Lorenzo. With his knowledge and good English he explained everything and gave tips how to make ur journey better. Good driver. Not many people pick up from ur location, it's a bonus. We enjoy his company and nice jokes. Made our journey easier and more pleasant
Brilliant day exploring Etna with wonderfull and extremely knowledgeable tour guide Stefano.
Our excellent guide Antonio guided our multinational (romanian, canadian, finnish) group on the slopes of Etna, providing a wealth of information on historical eruptions and their consequences, vegetation, rock types, to name a few. On the way to mountain he also explained the history of small towns, through which we passed. We also visited a cave, the origin of which was revealed through Antonio’s comprehensive explanation. On the way back we stopped at a local farm, which had a small agricultural museum and the opportunity to taste (and buy!) local honey varieties. We would go again anytime, it was worth every penny. Special thanks to our top quality guide!
Very funny guid that knows alot about Etna
Flavio was a great guide with lots of stories and insight into Mt. Etna, lava caves and Sicilian culture. Would recommend this tour!
Five stars because Tom, our guide, was brilliant. From pick up to drop off he took great care of all the guests, spoke 3 languages, was so passionate about the region and so knowledgeable. The 7 hours flew by and we had a great time.
Tour guide Giuseppe was very informative, considerate and enjoyable. The tour was interesting and the views amazing.
One of the best tours we have done on holidays and we have done a lot Worldwide. The tour was made very personal and enjoyable by the brilliant guide Simone. He has a wealth of knowledge on any subject about Sicily and a fantastic ambassador for the Island !!! Thoroughly enjoyable day and highly recommend !!
Experience was amazing and memorable. Extra fees amount was little surprising, because it was bigger than the actual fee in the beginning. Length of visit was enough and propriate. Atmosphere in our own little group (8+guide) was warm and nice. Crowd size in our own little group was good. The group on the top of the Etna was too big. We couldn't hear anything. One of our groupmember fell down and got bruises on her face. After that we wandered why many other groups had helmets but we didn't have. Also the tasting was kind of disappointment, and the staff in the tasting wasn't concentrating us and the situation. She was chatting with her friends. On the other way round our own groupleader and guide Stephano Nicotra was so nice, kind, charming, kind and took good care of us all groupmembers. This experience is best for adventurers.
My husband and I had a fantastic Mount Etna tour with our guide, Bruna. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience both fun and informative. We chose the sunset tour, and the views over the volcanic landscape were breathtaking. Exploring the lava caves added an extra sense of adventure. Bruna’s passion and knowledge brought Mount Etna’s history to life and made us appreciate this incredible natural wonder even more. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sicily. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
We had a wonderful experience on our Mount Etna tour, and much of that was thanks to our guide, Simone. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history, geology, and culture of the region. The scenery was breathtaking, and Simone ensured we had plenty of opportunities to take in the views and capture memorable photos. He was attentive, patient, and happy to answer questions. After Etna, we made a stop and had a tasting of many different local products, which was also amazing. If you're planning a visit to Mount Etna, we highly recommend this tour. Our guide’s expertise and enthusiasm made our visit truly special and unforgettable. Thank you, Simone, for an amazing experience!
Brilliant day doing this tour. Picked up exactly at the time specified in a nice AC’d van, up to etna. Had a great hike up to the craters and the tour guide was so informative and helpful. The tasting was great and good fun, and no pushy sales. Had lunch there and it was fairly cheap. Quick stop off at a cave which was great to see, but not ideal if you’re not steady on your feet ( you could wait at the top though and it’s only 5/10 mins if not your thing). All in all, well worth doing!
Lorenzo (our guide) was excellent. A safe driver and super knowledgeable about volcanos (not just Mt Etna). The tour experience on Mt Etna resulted in some rain, but no big deal. We had a great trip seeing Mt Etna up close. Lorenzo made the trip extra memorable. Thank you for a great experiance.
A very pleasant trip that fulfilled my expectations completely with the extremly informative, helpful and sympathetic tour guide Simon
It was an absolutely wonderful experience. Alessio was a fantastic guide. He was so knowledgeable!! Hiking around Mt Etna was breathtaking!!
Enjoyable and informative tour of part of Etna moderate degree of strenuousness. Enzo is a good story teller
Highly recommend this tour, the best way to see Etna in my opinion. Enjoyed the tasting too, a great experience all round. Lori was fantastic guide. Very knowladable, kind, friendly and safe. Can't help the weather but would have been nice if it was abit clearer so we could make it to the summit. Also don't forget to bring a jacket to wrap up warm!
Carmelo was wonderful. He did a great job explaining everything. The ride up the ride home while we’re on the volcano
I highly recommend this unique tour! Our guide, Lorenzo, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, making the experience truly exceptional. It's a fantastic way to see Mount Etna, offering insights and views you won't forget!
My friend and I had a fantastic time. Our guide, Lory was excellent. The small tour group helped us to have intimate conversations with other participants. Highly recommended!
Brilliant trip with an excellent tour guide. Florence took us on a brilliant day out, all around Mount Etna where we had stunning views of Sicily, ate some very tasty local products and heard some very funny local legends. I did this as my 30th birthday treat and will definitely be remembering it for the next 30 years! We were in a small group of around 6, of mixed ages, and we paid around £60 each for the experience
Amazing experience in Etna and Taormina. Bruna is very knowledgable and is easy to be contagied by her energy
Tom was a wonderful and caring guide, who took into account our conditions and led us to the top of the crater. He was also a very good photographer, because he took the best pictures! He made sure that the group stayed together and helped each other. We are very happy with the day and this excursion that he carried out so well. 10 points out of 10.
The trip is well organized and a great way to visit mount etna. Our tour guide Lorenzo was very knowledgeable and helpful. He made the experience great. Highly recommended.
The tour with Nando was great. He is very knowledgeable and explained everything of Mt. Etna in great details, we enjoyed it a lot. Definitely wear some good hiking shoes for the climb. Highly recommend!
Simone picked us up in a timely manor & was very welcoming & enriched us with all his information on Sicily, foods to try, places to visit , geology , you name it. He was a wealth of knowledge! The whole day was so enjoyable & he explained a lot about Mt Etna. We also got to enjoy a trip to a local winery, sampling a couple wines, olive oils, cheese & salami plus we had time for a lunch . We also sampled some honeys & liqueurs. A great time with everyone! Thank you so much Simone! You really made our day! - Kay & Morris from Canada
Wonderful, informative, friendly and helpful guide. This was such good value for money. I would do the same trip again.
Our experience was exceptional. Our guide Sal R. did an amazing job. He knows so much about Mt. Etna and it shows in his presentation. Sal R. really made the experience come alive. We feel very fortunate to have had Sal R. as our guide. If you have the opportunity do not miss this experience.
We booked online the day before but if we'd booked 4 days before the trip we'd have got a discount. From reviews I had read I knew we might need proper boots and so I called them to organise those. They were free of charge. They also provide jackets and walking poles if you want. Our trip was late April when there was still snow on Etna. The cable car wasn't working but replaced with buses/4 wheel drives that took people from the first base at c.1900 m up to the next section where they were then transported into snowcat vehicles. To go from 1900 to the top is approx another 100 euros each. Our group was small with only 2 couples and our guide, Lorenzo, was fantastic! He was knowledgeable fun entertaining and happy to chat everything from books to football to general Italian culture and life. He led us up, down, over and around snow, lava and craters. Both my partner, aged 70 and me, aged 63, are quite unfit so we felt it challenging but with Lorenzo's patience and assistance we managed and found it to be an excellent trip. We had started the day with a brief stop for honey tasting, then a walk into a lava tunnel which was absolutely fascinating, Etna and then ended with a superb wine tasting where we took the option of a light lunch. We would have no hesitation in recommending this trip to anyone - well worth the price! Thank you Lorenzo - we had a fabulous trip.
We had a great time on the tour. We were a little too early in the season so the higher hikes weren’t available, but it was very neat going around the lower craters.
We very much enjoyed this tour where our host confirmed pick-up time with a punctual arrival. Alessandro was incredibly knowledgeable too with both information & visual explaination regarding Etna and its peaks & flows. He also thoughtful would take photos throughout at points of interest (so we weren't limited to 'selfies & shared group ones afterwards). The area we walked was varied which included the lava cave as well as the vast formed lava site of the volcano. The tasting of the local produce was like 'icing on the cake'. So with such scope, energy, & time from this tour, I feel it was not only good value for money, but also a lot of fun 😊
Great excursion and way to see Mt. Etna! Learned a lot with the local guide. Easy pick up and drop off at hotel in Taormina. Highly recommend.
salvo was great!!! super knowledgeable and very very nice!! super interesting tour and must do one of the extra excursions when you're up there
We had a wonderful day exploring Mount Etna. Our guide, Carmelo, was very well-prepared and friendly, providing great insights throughout the trip. The highlight was definitely the food; it was honestly the best we’ve eaten so far on our holiday. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a professional guide and a great local meal.
Had a wonderful time with Lorenzo as a guide. He was very knowledgeble and flexible for our different needs. The tour was just right, not too short, not too long and we had a couple of craters to see. Cave was more interesting than expected and at the end we had a lunch with some delicious food and drinks included in the price. 10 out of 10. Will come again for the barbecue!
We weren't too sure what to expect but our guide, Bruna, who drove the tour van was fantastico. She was so full of energy and experience.. We could clearly tell how much she loves Etna. Such a great time. The trek was just under 2 hours in the deep in places snow. Steep in places too but we stopped regularly for our guide to explain the rock forms, colour changes, the white speckles on the rock and routes of the lava. So good and interesting. And we aren't geology experienced. Our daughter was worried beforehand about the drive up the mountain switch back roads in the van but Bruna drove exceptionally well and was very attentive to her passengers. The tasters of oils, jams and liquor were well timed too. We also stopped on the way up to a couple of small caves which weren't an interesting start to the day. The hire of walking boots was also easy. Thank you Bruna.
The whole day was so well planned, just perfect time, perfect experience. Scenery was beautiful, we loved every minute
We had to cancel our hike due to a couple of days of rainstorms and they were so amazing! When we come back this summer we will DEFINITELY book with them and recommend you do as well.
My son and I enjoyed a day trip with Claudio from etna tribe. He picked us up at our Airbnb in a Mercedes 9-seat minivan. I was grateful they were able to accommodate a front seat since I suffer from severe emotion sickness. It was a full van so a bit tight for 9 of us including driver. It was an hour drive up to Mount Etna with a brief stop at the lava tube cave. That was interesting although now I wish I had done the other tour where they stopped at the Alcantra Gorge. We arrived at Mount Etna which reminded me of a ski lodge and the cable car was basically a gondola similar to when you would take up a mountain to go skiing. I was surprised to hear it was 100 euros. And it didn't even go that high. We ended up walking up a trail which look a lot higher than it was. There was snow on the ground so if you didn't have boots, you would end up with wet sneakers and socks. It was a good experience. A nice day out. I can't imagine what it is like when it's crowded as we went off season. If the weather wasn't beautiful and sunny as the day we experienced, I would definitely not recommend this trip. Quite honestly, seeing Mount Etna from afar is much more interesting than going to the actual site. But since this is one of the main attractions, and I didn't expect much more it was a good trip. After we went to a little store that gave us tastings of honey and local wine and basically you could purchase them at the store.
Visited a lava cave, and hike up Mt Etna to Honitos crater. Followed by wine and food tasting of different local products. We then headed for a couple of hours in the coastal of Taormina.Guide, Salvador was 10/10. Provided us with so much local knowledge and volcanology.
