Messina Private Excursion Taormina And Castelmola

We had a fantastic day along the Sicilian coast. Our driver and guide were waiting for us when we departed the ship. Our guide, Isabella, was very friendly and went above and beyond during our visit (even helping to exchange a purchase while we ate lunch). She also adapted our day to what we were interested in and was always happy to answer questions. We went to Castelmola first. It was fun and there was a great view of the surrounding area. Taormina, however, was the star of the show. It was a lovely town, with a great variety of shopping and dining options. We ate lunch at a place Isabella recommended and it was great. She took us to a garden and then we finished by seeing the ancient theatre. I would highly recommend this excursion if you've got a day in Messina!

We had a wonderful day exploring Taormina and Castelmola on our private excursion from Messina! Our guide, Kim, made the drive along the beautiful coastline especially enjoyable with her local knowledge and interesting insights along the way. She made our trip so enjoyable! Both towns were beautiful to explore on foot, with charming streets, great shopping, and plenty of opportunities to take in the scenery. Kim also recommended a fantastic restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal and wine. We started the day with a fun stop for cannoli and ended it with gelato, the perfect sweet treats to round out a memorable excursion! We thoroughly enjoyed the day and would highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Messina.

Everything about this tour was really wonderful and we were sad to see it end because of our tour guide, Aydan, and our driver, Alberto. Our driver met us at our cruise ships port in Messina and we walked to our van where we met our guide Aydan, a nice young lady. Off we went to tour waterfront communities along the coast where we learned about the area, visited some beautiful streets, did some fun shopping, stopped at incredible cafes, even had a delicious lunch at Mama Rosa. We also visited some churches and cathedrals and learned things about Messina and the surrounding areas that we really enjoyed. In summary, take this tour, ask for Aydan and her driver Alberto, you will really enjoy the visit and who is showing you around town. 5 Stars +

They were very professional, shared all the information with us ahead of time, and picked us up right at the cruise terminal. The guide, Pari, was amazing, very engaging with the kids, and we loved exploring with her.

Although the weather was dreary and rainy, the tour was good. Kimberly, our tour guide, and Christos, our driver, both did their very best to make the tour memorable despite the horrible weather. Beautiful day in Sicily! Angelo, our driver and guide Fredrica were both knowledgeable on the history and sites of Sicily. Got to see Mt Etna from afar. Had yummy cannolis. Also, had lunch at a local restaurant overlooking Messina.

We met him along with our guide Hana and off we went in a very air conditioned van. Our first official stop was Castelmola but we did stop for scenic photos along the way. In Castelmola we were lucky to get some great shots of Mount Etna. We went to a restaurant (very unique lol) and sampled almond wine and had the best ever Sicilian cannoli. Then some free time and then onto Taormina. In Taormina , Hana walked along with us and pointed out cultural and historical areas of significance. We were supposed to go inside a church but there was a funeral. We had lots of free time to browse and then had lunch at Mama Rosa’s which was delicious and affordable. We were also very fortunate that they took us into Messina to see the clock tower and the church as this wasn’t part of our itinerary. This is a very professional and knowledgeable tour company. Throughout our entire time in the car Hana explained the history and culture of Sicily. She answered all of our questions and was quite funny and engaging. Alberto is a very skilled driver with a great sense of humour. This was the best private tour we took throughout our 14 day vacation. Highly recommend- we left Sicily feeling like we understood it and took a bit of it with us.

This is a fantastic tour for anyone wanting to experience the heart of Sicily. Castelmola and Taormina are both incredible places to visit. The views were breathtaking, and we loved the people, food, and shopping along the way. We had the best day with Andre! He truly showed us not only the sights, but also the heart of Sicily. From walking the beautiful streets of Taormina to stopping at a quaint café for granita, he had every detail covered. He was also incredibly flexible with our timing and stops, which made the day feel relaxed and personalized. Andre made this one of the highlights of our trip. We only wish we could have him as our tour guide for every day of our journey!

Our private tour of Castelmola and Taormina was the highlight of our European vacation. Our tour guide Pari was wonderful. She had so much personality, energy, fun and a true love of her adopted home in Sicily and provided us with just enough history of the places we saw to keep us all well informed and interested. She also guided us to the best places to shop, eat - mortadella stracciatella pistachio paninis, arancinis and, of course, gelato!!!! Ohhhhh... the fun we had on this tour and the sights we saw!!! I cannot recommend this your enough!!! And, Pari was the best!!!

Our tour guide Pari and driver showed us a wonderful tour of Sicily. Everything went like clockwork and Pari was attentive to sites we wanted to see. Her personality was fun loving and the information about Sicily gave a personal view of the sites. I would definitely request her again.

We loved both Castelmola and Taormina, but a real highlight was the little bar he recommended in Castelmola for cannoli and almond wine. We’d never have found it ourselves and absolutely loved it. Our guide took us to a beautiful town however because we were a small group we couldn’t hear her when she was answering questions or talking about certain sights. We should have had ear pieces

The communication from this tour company was top-notch right from booking, including a WhatsApp message the day before and direct contact from our driver the morning of with his live location for a seamless port pickup in Messina. We customized our itinerary to start in Taormina, making a fantastic preliminary stop in Castelmola for a church visit, local sight-seeing, and incredible cannolis and liquor. Our driver then dropped us off on the main street in Taormina. It’s worth noting for future travelers that this portion of the tour is free exploration time on your own (about 2 hours) rather than a walking tour with the driver. While we initially expected a guided walk based on the "private tour" label, it actually worked out wonderfully—giving our family group nice, uninterrupted time to shop, wander, and grab a bite. Due to the weather, we couldn't get a clear view of Mt. Etna, though we would have loved if the itinerary had included going a bit closer to make Etna more of a central focus. That said, our driver's lunch recommendation was spot-on, and on the way back to Messina, he took us to several great sightseeing spots and an amazing dessert place. Our driver was personable, fun, awesome to spend the day with, and made our time in Sicily unforgettable. Overall, it's a fantastic, high-value option to maximize a short port stay—just go in knowing what to expect for free time vs. guided time!

Book it!! We had a fantastic day! Pari was an excellent guide, she has a passion for Sicily and is very knowledgeable and sweet. She was accommodating for a mixed age group and everyone had a good time. Alberto was a very good driver, he made us feel safe on the windy roads. When we return to the ship, it was pouring rain and Pari and Alberto escorted us to the ship with umbrellas. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

What a fabulous day!! Pick up was punctual, vehicle was air conditioned & comfortable and our guide Alberto was a safe & patient driver. He also shared his local knowledge as we travelled to Taormina. We had plenty of free time to explore the village and historic Theatre. Alberto was friendly, helpful and kind. The tour stops were great. And the the relaxing time for cannelloni and lunch was what we needed. Our guide was lovely however she was hard to understand and she spoke more to individuals rather than the group so not all of us we involved in instancing out tour sites. Additional the van/taxi was way too small for us to be comfortable.

Andrea was a great communicator, he picked us up on time at the Port which was amazing. He Listened to what was important to us, gave us history and information and got us back to port by the time we requested. It was a fantastic day. Our whole group loved it.

We had a great tour with Fabritzo! From quick pick up at the port through the towns of Taormina and Castelmola until drop off in Messina at the end. Fabritzo made sure we saw as much as we could throughout the tour and adjusted according to our interests. We had time on our own to explore the towns too and not be rushed through.

We toured with Paria (tour guide) and Alberto (driver) from “Best Sicily Excursions with Alberto.” It was outstanding! We were met promptly at the docks and they had a comfortable van for the six of us with cold water and AC. We also had some members of our group who are mobility impaired and they were very patient and helped us get into and out of the van at every stop. Paria spoke excellent English and was very fun and personable. We clicked right away. We arranged to go to Castelmola and Taormina but they were very flexible if we wanted to stop or divert to see something. Paria had a deep knowledge of the history of the area as well as the that of every place we visited. She stayed with us the entire time to ensure we did not get lost and provided background information at each site. While Messina was technically not on the tour, they brought us to the Doma and fountains and told us all the details. I would highly recommend this tour.

Oleksandra and Angelo were very good, but the shock absorbers on the van were very bad, resulting in a rough ride from Messina to Castelmola and back, making it difficult to enjoy the scenery.

Wow what a trip. We had the best tour guide Karola and the guy behind the wheel Enzo. The sites where unbelievable and the food was amazing. You have to do the trip.
