Half Day Tour Of Syracuse

We thoroughly enjoyed our half day tour of Ortigia and Neapolis archeological park with Letizia. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions around town. You very much look forward to an opportunity to come back! Highly recommend!

We had the pleasure of touring Syracuse with Leticia! She is very knowledgeable in all things Sicily: history, culture, culinary delights and much more. We not only enjoyed our time with her, but finished knowing more about this beautiful place!!!

Joined up with 4 others for Ortigia tour which was also enjoyable and informative. Would definitely recommend her to others considering those tours.

The afternoon was well organized and enjoyable. It is helpful to be with someone like Letizia who is not only a real professional, but knows everyone working at the sites. We hat benefitted us very specifically in a church we would not have been able to get into otherwise as there was a wedding in process. Thanks to Letizia, we were able to peak in and see important historical design features.

Over and above that, she talked knowledgeably of local plants, foods, social and cultural traditions. She spoke clearly and at exactly the right level to get her information across. We had a wonderful half day tour with Letizia. She is one of the best tour guides we have ever had. She is extremely fluent in English and provided so much interesting information about the history, culture, and cuisine of Siracusa in an easy to understand and coherent manner. We would highly recommend taking this tour with her early in one’s visit to this city.

We had a lovely small group tour. There were 3 couples on this day. Lucky us, we were there on a free admission date, so a bit crowded, but its a large area, so plenty of space. Our guide Letezia is very good at sharing all the history of Syracuse and made the trip memorable. Lots of walking. Spent time exploring the ancient city and then took a cab to Ortigia where we were introduced to the beauty and the history of this section of Syracuse as well. We received local recommendations and could plan the rest of our stay with the tips Letezia provided. Great way to start a visit.

The day before the trip Letizia changed the venue because it suited her better. We cancelled and are awaiting the refund.

Letizia was our tour guide and she was wonderful. Very friendly great with my 10 year old that wasn’t very interested lol. So so much information was given out on Syracuse which isn’t even the correct way to say or spell the city name. I took a week trip with my kids to Malta and took a day trip to Sicily just so I could check it off. With Letitia as our tour guide she alone convinced me that I need to come back a take a week to experience Sicily. She is right that island is way too big to try to explore in one day. Not only does she to tours of Siracusa she also does food tours in Siracusa and guided home cooking tours too. She also told me her brother and father are in the tour business too. So if you chose to book this tour make sure you ask for letizia and look into the food tour or home cooking tour too I will be worth your time.

We had a great tour of the Syracusa archeological park and the Origia center with Letizia. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the island and how the current culture ties to the past. We particularly loved how she pointed out all the wild spices on our walk!

Great afternoon and early evening tour. Leitzia has a fun and energetic personality. She blends her knowledge of history with interesting cultural anecdotes. Her interest in food and cooking also finds a way into the conversation. Very good tour.

So glad we did this tour! Despite having an interest in history I had limited awareness of the significance of Syracuse to Greek, Roman and Carthaginian history. This tour was absolutely fascinating and Letizia brought the ancient history of the area to life. She is very knowledgable and very engaging. Four hours passed in a flash! We were lucky to have only the two of us with our wonderful guide Letizia. She was very knowledgeable, informative and personable. She brought the history of Ortigia alive and enabled us to visualize the Neapolis Archaeological Park of Syracuse as it must have looked in ancient times. Letizia triggered our fascination of how different cultures had affected the area. We enjoyed the walk around the old Roman quarry. Our enjoyment was enhanced by Igor Mitoraj's open-air sculptural exhibition. Excellent guide, excellent experience - we highly recommend this tour with Letizia!

We had a fabulous tour with Letizia. Her description of what we would see at both the Archeological Park of Syracuse and Ortigia were spot on and she provided us with a wealth of knowledge, coming from a family of expert tour guides. It didn't hurt that we had two lovely women along for our tour, so the tour felt intimate and private. Letizia has a great personality that added to the tour experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, would do another tour with her again if the opportunity arises and highly recommend this tour!

Letizia provided a 3 hour tour that covered the large The Parco Archeologico della Neapolis and the historical sites on Ortigia. Her English was excellent and provided very interesting history of both areas. We also learned a lot of the vegetation of Sicily which was neat! It would have been helpful if she forewarned us that we would need to get our own transportation from Neapolis to Ortigia. The price point for 4 people for the services rendered was expensive!

Wonderful tour guide, very knowledgeable about the history of the area. We saw all the highlights of the park and the island of Ortigia. Wish we could have also taken Letizia food tour, next time!!!!

Letizia is a wonderful guide. She helped us visit and understand Siracusa's ancient sites, took us through Ortigia's food market, walked us through the town old narrow streets, and even guided us to a great restaurant for lunch. We strongly suggest this tour.

My wife and I did the half day tour with Letizia of the Parco archeologico della Neapolis and Ortigia. We had done the park on our own on a previous visit and learned nothing. With our tour guide Letizia, it made all the difference in the world. She was both knowledgeable and very personable in explaining the history of the park as well as the history of Sicily to our small group of 6. She also included stories of her personal history with the park which added a whole new dimension to the experience. The tour of Ortigia was just as memorable. We were fortunate to have lunch with her and others in the group before her next tour. It was just a very memorable day and the reason why we come to Sicily, to learn its history, try new foods, drink the wine, and make new friends. Grazie mille Letizia!

Letizia, Tour Guide in Syracuse and Ortigia, lead us on a tour of the Neapolis Archaeological Park. She is friendly, powerfully informative and knowledgeable beyond measure. The daughter of a tour guide and a studied historian herself, Letizia is native Syracusian for generations and has a personal connection to her tours. She detailed the tour to our preferences. We ended the day with lunch in Syracuse at one of Letzia’s favorite restaurants and she ordered a beautiful and satisfying meal for us.

Wonderful tour. Letizia is engaging and very informative. Traveling with friends, and all of us ask all kinds of questions. Not only was Letizia great at answering, she modified the tour on the fly to take us to places that weren't on the regular tour. Our half day with her was among the highlights of our trip to Sicily, highly recommended.

Fantastic, we were welcomed by a very charismatic tour leader who was very warm and with an infectious smile. She is very gay friendly which is rare in the area. Her tour was highly informative and detailed. She took us through the archeological site and we proceeded to Ortigia. She is very well connected and navigates the area as the pro that she is. Letizia was a great guide. She speaks English as well as the Romance languages. She is very knowledgeable and accommodating. It was really hot the day of my tour so we kept it slower paced. The Neopolis and park is a gem and not to be missed when in Siracusa! Highly recommend her and this tour. Wish I’d discovered her sooner as she does other tours and cooking classes as well!

This young woman know multiple languages, tons of history and does not lack in passion. We enjoyed all of her expertise and even restaurant suggestions were fabulous. I hope to return and take her cooking class as well.

We were lucky enough to have a tour of Syracuse in French thanks to Letizia, a passionate guide, whose family is from the city. The walk with him is a real pleasure. In addition to the historical information on the main sites visited, they provide us with a wealth of knowledge on a wide variety of topics including Sicilian plants and culture. If we return to Syracuse, we will not miss the gourmet walk it offers to discover - and taste - more precisely the culinary specialties of the region.
