Half Day Boat Tour On The Syracuse Coast With Lunch

The boat wasn’t like anything that was pictured in the advertisement. The booking that we did was a boat ride with lunch didn’t say anything about swimming, but the other guests on the boat their paperwork said swimming was involved, we had no suits. There were 10 guests on board and 2 1/2 noodles for swimming. The food was good, but the crew was not engaging at all. They didn’t tell us what we were driving by and seeing they didn’t ask if we had any questions. It was rather boring and disappointing. Fortunately, the other guests on board were fun.

The highlights were being on the boat and multiple opportunities to swim. The boat had table which was completely in the shade, and which comfortably seated eight people. There were also two areas where you could comfortably sit in the sun. The lunch was delicious and beverages included wine, sodas and water. The tour company published two pick up spots and our reservation did not specify which spot to go to so we chose the first address, which was wrong. We had to hurriedly walk to the correct spot 10-15 minutes away and caused the tour to be delayed by a few minutes. I would have preferred to have more commentary about the area; the bluffs, buildings and caves, but it was a beautiful day to be on the water enjoying the company of people from around the world.

The experience was awful. Despite the fact that our email confirmation noted that the excursion began at 11, it began at 10:40. When we got there at 10:50, the group had already left. They had not made any attempt to call us or contact us before leaving. When we got through to the tour operating group, they had no idea that we had registered, despite the fact that we had tickets and had paid in full. We had asked to go on a later cruise, and they could not accommodate. When we asked to refund, they ignored us. I would not recommend this experience.

Very disapointing experience. We waited 45 minutes before going on the boat. The boat is very old and not at all Fresh as on the picture. You can’t sit comfortably on the shade. But above all there is no guide at all, you don’t see the caves. The food was really basic. And we ate in the port which was a very bad experience. Then, we asked to swim on a beautiful spot and again the staff made no effort at all and we swam in the port that was dirty and for 5 minutes only. À very bad tour ! The organiser should really do something to improve the service !!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Boat tour was reduced due to weather conditions. Although it was reduced my family had a great time swimming off the boat.

Boat was badly in need of paint and touch ups. Very basic trip. Staff had no English. Just kept coming out to us, pointed at caves and said the name. Pointless exercise with no English. Snorkels on board but in order to use them you had to pay €12. This left a very sour taste with the kids. Lunch was decent but not enough food for all on board. Price wasn’t extortionate but I guess you get what you pay for. This was a low cost boat and low cost service - would not recommend

This was an incredibly fun boat excursion! The boat had lots of shade which was essential because it was over 100 degrees F. We stopped at different spots for swimming in the clear gorgeous water. Lunch was delicious and there was plenty of wine and other drinks. What also made this excursion great was the other people on it. We had such a fabulous time together. Different ages, different countries, and different backgrounds all enhanced the experience.

It was lovely to be out on the water for four hours with two opportunities to swim and our fellow passengers were good company. However; There was no safety briefing and the were the location of life jackets was not pointed out. There was no real commentary and minimal interaction with the three crew members. The lunch was disappointing, even given the restrictions of preparing it on a small vessel. Overall, it was enjoyable but not good value for the money paid.

Had a super trip. We were a real mix if ages and nationalities - UK, US, French, Australian & New Zealand. The lunch was fabulous and the drinks plentiful. Stopped twice to swim and there was plenty of time to cool off and enjoy the water. A great trip!

Lovely few hours on the sea. No real commentary per se so didn’t really matter what language you spoke. The stops for swimming were by far the best part, the food was good, as was the company of strangers. Did not see very much of the staff tbh but when they did surface they were pleasant enough. Our issue again was being singled out for the validation of our prepaid tickets, slightly embarrassing but soon resolved. The worst thing was the supposed ‘meeting point’ on our reservation which was completely inaccurate meaning we virtually needed to sprint to the correct meeting place leaving us quite HOT and somewhat bothered only to have to retrace many of our steps back to the actual departure point. We also have never received any of the group photos we should supposedly receive via WhatsApp.

We had a great experience! Friendly staff, great food, and beautiful day on the water. Just make sure to arrive 30 mins prior to departure - that wasn’t directly communicated to us beforehand

The crew made for such a wonderful day on the water! We learned all about Ortigia/Syracuse/Sicily. They spoke great English and we took some fun stops for swimming and sight seeing. We had our 4 month old son with us and they were extremely accommodating for feedings and diaper changes. The food was absolutely delicious and you could tell how much thought and care they put into preparing it. I can’t recommend this tour enough! You won’t regret booking!

This was an excellent boat tour with a very friendly crew. It was a very relaxing way to spend a few hours on the water. The lunch was excellent, with more food than we could possibly eat and plenty to drink (wine, water, soft drinks). Being early in the season, the trip was under-capacity, so we really appreciate that they still ran it. Grazie mille

So much better than a lot of the other tours of the island being offered. Fantastic local food and drinks onboard. The presence of shade and the opportunity to go swimming in the Med were also nice perks

The crew was extremely friendly and accommodating!! The tour was beautiful and the time we stopped for lunch on the boat was the most impressive. Was not expecting the amount or quality of food. Uh

We enjoyed the boat tour very much and the lunch was delicious. It was unfortunate, however, that there was no one on board to give us some history/explanations about what we were seeing, or about our itinerary. That would definitely have enriched the experience.

Beautiful day on the boat. Unfortunately some of the trip/activities were changed or cancelled due to rough weather, but our trip was still fun...we anchored off the coast for a few hours. We swam, ate a very good Sicilian lunch with plenty of wine.

The boat ride was excellent, we stopped in a few nice stops and managed to get a lot of swimming in which was great given how lovely the sea was. We were happy to have picked this trip as the boat wasn’t busy and we were able to lay down and sunbathe unlike a lot of the other boats that we saw. To top it off, the lunch we had was lovely. Nothing fancy but simple and tasty salads and pasta with some wine. In all, a lovely relaxing afternoon!

The trip was very well planned and food was just perfect. We stopped twice to swim and it was a small group of people so it wasn’t crowded and we enjoyed the space. It’s certainly worth it- don’t miss out!!

Nice boat tour! The lunch was awesome! Many tasty appetizers and a delicious pasta cooked on the boat. Plenty of time to swim and enjoy the water. Perfect activity for a hot day!

Very well organized. The captain and the crew were very friendly and informative of the island. The home cooked food and drinks were also very good! Would highly recommend.

Good tour, and pleasant captain. The food was ok, home made but simplistic. Even thought it tasted ok, it was all the same, no variety. There was absolutely no protein.

It was amazing you absolutely must go if you want to see the most beautiful water in Siracusa! The lunch was also fantastic and homemade.

This is the best boat tour I've ever been on! Roberto and Umberto were the perfect hosts, thank you so much for looking after us so well yesterday (27/5). We spent 4 blissful hours seeing the beautiful coastline with several swimming stops and delicious food and wine. We met some fantastic people and this is a trip we'll never forget. A perfect day.

We had such a great time on our boat tour! The crew was so nice and made everything super easy—they were great at answering all our questions and communication before and during the trip was clear and helpful. The food and drinks were delicious, and the boat itself was so fun and comfortable. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and we loved that we could stay connected with another boat the whole time. Plus, they had Bluetooth so we could play our own music, which made it even better. Highly recommend!

This was so much fun for my family and the other guests on the boat were great. The lunch was delicious and everything about the boat was comfortable. The places where we stopped to swim were beautiful. Captain and Crew were fantastic!

The small group lended to having conversations with others, and the shared lunch was delicious. There were opportunies for a swim, but too cool for me.

Beautiful sunny day with excellent food and company! All food was grown in one of the guide’s garden. Nice and intimate, 4 of us. Was happy to say I was able to swim in the Mediterranean.

Beautiful trip! Captain Roberto and crew Nino were wonderful and lunch (featuring veggies from Nino’s garden) was spectacular! Several opportunities to swim. The boat is rustic, but don’t let that sway you. It was a fun and relaxing afternoon!

Roberto, the Captain, and his assistant Nino were warm and welcoming. There are multiple opportunities for swimming and the views are fantastic! The boat has different seating situations which is nice and the lunch was really tasty. Some of the typical Sicilian dishes came from Ninos garden! Don’t miss this unique experience 🚤🇮🇹

This was a great boat tour. Roberto was our captain and Nino was our first mate. They were great! It was a beautiful day and a very peaceful time. There were 11 of us total and everyone was so nice. We were able to swim 3 different times. The water was perfect! The best was the lunch! It was all homemade by Nino’s grandmother! And the wine was flowing! I would highly recommend this tour.

Not only a lovely boat ride around the waters of Siracusa with a couple of stops to swim, but one of the best meals we had while in Sicily. The skipper was justifiably proud of serving homemade local cuisine. It was all vegetarian but not sure if that was usual or not. The boat holds eight guests and we all become fast friends sharing laughs and swapping travel stories and tips. The wine and prosecco probably helped. It was mid September and the water was about 25 degrees so still pleasant, my wife and I brought our masks and snorkels so get a better view of the fish. Weather was perfect as well.

We had a wonderful time with Roberto and Niko on the half day trip with a fabulous lunch. We stopped to swim three times in different areas and thoroughly enjoyed our time aboard!

Fantastic day out on the water. Food was plentiful and delicious. great overview of the area from the sea. English was good and she was very friendly. Captain attentive and safe. Swimming spots beautiful. Very clean boat and WC. Would do it again!

I wanted so badly to love this experience! Our tour was cancelled due to wind and was rescheduled for the next day. The tour said capacity was 12 passengers, but there were 14 on board...not everyone was able to sit at the table and it felt very crowded. The boat is very old and my husband and I were overcome by the diesel fumes. We did get to swim in one area and it was good to get off the boat! There were only 4 flotation noodles for 14 people. Luckily many people did not mind and my husband and I were able to use 2 of them. the meal was very simple..potatoes done 3 different ways, tomato salad, bread and eggplant. There was some disappointing wine, water and soft drinks. The server was lovely and tried hard to get everyone their drinks, etc. We were supposed to go to other swimming areas but turned back due to gray skies. We were told we were going to be able to swim again at an area close to the dock, but instead we docked and were served spaghetti with mussels. I was not expecting this and would have much preferred swimming again. I would not recommend this tour!

The trip had a bit of a difficult start. The man at the booth told us to follow him to the boat but then after a short walk told us to go back to the starting spot (the booth). A few minutes later we started out again but it was obvious that he did not know where he was going as he was on the phone getting directions. Once we were settled on the boat, it began to back out and got tangled in another boat's moorings. Another boat had to pull it away. After that delay we were able to head out. The ladder that was used to get in and out of the water had a mixture of metal and wooden steps which was hard on the feet, the boat's deck was very slippery and most of the dialogue was in Italian not English as presented in the ad. On the plus side, one of the crew did help people get on and off the boat (in and out of the water) and he steadied people; the food was great; they had a freshwater shower and the experience was interesting.

Boat tour with lunch around Ortiga … sounds nice! So we booked it with a family of 7 having high hopes for a great trip. The tour exceeded all expectations and we loved every minute of it! The food was SO delicious, a big thanks for Robberto and Leon. The tour itself was fantastic - caves, swimming, jumping salto’s from the deck and the crew was amazingly friendly. But the food … OMG! It was very, very tasty!! We would book this tour again!!

We had a wonderful trip under the great care of Roberto & Nino. They were so incredibly welcoming and were very diligent throughout the trip. Lots of stops for swimming before we anchored for an amazing lunch. Huge chiller of complimentary available through trip. The many Sicilian dishes prepared by Nino were so delicious. One of our best holiday meals. Only 12 passengers with the 2 crew so very chilled ambiance. Highly recommend this trip which lasts half day.

We loved the small group number which allowed us to sit with lots of space whether we wanted to sit on the bottom or top of the boat. The boat had a good toilet and we loved being able to swim on multiple occasions whenever the boat stopped. The food for lunch was delicious and plentiful! Lots of drinks were available and we enjoyed lots of Prosecco and water.

Great large boat with sundeck and shade, friendly guides, amazing delicious lunch, wine, soda, water, and lots of chances to swim and see the sea around Syracuse! Would recommend this trip.
