Giuseppe was an amazing guide for our tour of the Neapolis Archaeological Park in Syracuse. He was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the history of the site to life in a way that was engaging, interesting, and easy to follow. We learned so much about the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysius, and the fascinating history of ancient Syracuse. Giuseppe was also warm, personable, and clearly passionate about Sicily and its history. Having him as our guide made the archaeological park so much more meaningful than simply visiting on our own. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him and would absolutely recommend Giuseppe to anyone visiting Syracuse!
There were 2 languages for the tour...over 20 English and 3 Italian. Wasn't right that we had to share the attention of asking questions
The tour guide, Giuseppe, was excellent. He provided a clear and comprehensive tour of the Neopolis and amazingly, he was able to effortlessly shift between presenting in Italian and English. The tour moved very efficiently and the information provided was excellent. I also especially appreciated Giuseppe's warm and engaging personality. There were many people on this tour but he was able to interact thoughtfully with so many participants. I feel very fortunate that I had him as the guide for this tour.
a very well documented tour, funny and friendly guide, learned something of this tour, i recommend ot if you happen to visit neapolis
Guide was informative. Done in two languages, English and Italian. Bring plenty of water. Be on time.
Highly recommend this tour especially the 9 am start to avoid the crowds and heat Our tour guide was very informative and conducted all in English, well worth booking in advance and use the "skip the line". Our guide was very considerate and made sure that the stops were all in the shade where possible and also gave the group options Tour itself is a must do in the area and you'll come away knowing so much more about ancient times
Cool site tour guide was very nice. Lots of cool history. Walking was not too difficult group size was a little large
Rita our guide was wonderful and her knowledge and depth of the site was extraordinary. Highly recommend this tour and the 9 am start was fabulous - no crowds!
On this trip you will see all the components of Greek theatre & the Neapolis. You won’t miss any element of these since it is concise & well thought out. The guide was excellent too. However he delivered half the tour in Italian before repeating more or less the same content in English. This worked to a degree but meant a lot of hanging about in searing heat while he finished one language & began the next
This tour was absolutely the best. Very personable and knowledgeable guide with excellent language skills. The history was explained in great detail to the point you could picture the amphitheatre as it would have been. The history of the stone being used for sea defences in Ortiga at the time also gave reference to the town as it was. Loved the information about the Gods at the time. The only downside is that it had to end.
Toured the Neopolis with a knowledgeable guide who was able to provide a rich explation of the long and varied history of Siracusa from its earliest Greek period.
There is some up and down climbing. The experience all depends on the willingness of the guide to share ingo
Excellent knowledgeable guide who spoke good English and was able to answer questions well. English and Italian translations. Tour was not rushed with time for photos. Would recommend this tour.
Really gentle walk and great guide whose name we did it catch unfortunately but he took time to explain the history of the site as well as pointing out things of interest like wild growing herbs capers and flowers. Great couple of hours
An important and suggestive site, not to be missed. Latomies of Paradise, Ear of Dionysus, Grotto of Cordari and a garden from Eden enriched the visit to Greek and Roman remains. Renato guided us with competence, friendliness and sympathy in the great history of ancient Syracuse
We visited the archaeological park at the end of the afternoon. The ticket office is far from the entrance. The closing time does not coincide with the one shown on the sites with a 30' time difference The monuments have no indications whatsoever and are badly maintained. The staff is mostly rude. Dionysius' ear inside is completely dark and without lighting to figure out where he put his feet we used the phone flashlight. Other attractions in the park were closed. Absolutely not worth the price of the ticket alone 17€ There is no parking nearby which in the chaos of Syracuse is a real problem. A real shame because the site has enormous potential.
Very nice place of beautiful remains the theater is very beautiful A magnificent view A very nice walk of about 2 hours you have to love climbing
We made the visit with Roberta, a very knowledgeable guide, and not only on the Greek theater and the Neapolis, but 360 degrees on Syracuse! Despite the great heat she managed to keep up the interest of the large group, managing explanations in various languages. The place deserves its own, and it wasn't the first time there, despite that, Roberta added so many details still unknown to me. Engaging explanations, very kind and nice guide! Oh, did I mention she's very, very prepared? Highly recommended!
Vale.la.pena done in the morning as early as possible the heat is very annoying and much of it is in the open field, the guide was experienced, friendly.and nice
With us they were busy with a festival, so many pieces were cordoned off and the “beautiful” and “authentic” road was also taken away by stage and risers around it.
the tour was booked in english. the guide spoke english with a very heavy accent which made it not easy to understand everything. pity also that for only 2 italians everything was repeated
Syracuse is always an exceptional confirmation but visiting it with this tour made me appreciate it 100 times more. Excellently organized and kindness and expertise to the maximum. Good.
