This was a great tour where we got to try many foods and also see around the city as we walked from place to place. Our guide was very kind and explained all the foods well. We tried cipollina, deep fried anchovies, cheese, arancino, and granita.
Alessandra, our guide, was very good. You learn about Catania's history and get to sample lots of food.
Thank you Gabriele for a great introduction to Sicilian food and culture! We tried many foods that we later returned back to during our stay
Daniele was a great tour guide. Very nice and informative .
Lovely walking tour of Catania & an introduction to the local street food.
We had a great time exploring the city and eating the food of Catania. Everything was delicious and our guide was great. She even had perfect suggestions on where we should go after the tour. Bring a bottle of water though as beverages aren’t offered at most stops.
This was an excellent introduction to the city. I enjoyed most of the food that was on offer and the guide was really friendly and so were the rest of the group.
We didn’t get to take the tour because we didn’t have phone service to cancel within 24 hours and once the request was sent, it was denied.
Amazing tour. Our guide was excellent and told us lots of interesting history between food stops. All the food was amazing and the whole thing was planned really well - thank you!
Brilliant tour. Food was amazing and the guide was very knowledgeable and kept track of the group really well, even through the busy market. I would definitely recommend. I sampled food I would never normally eat, so it was a great experience
Excellent, lots of delicious local delights to taste. Along with the guided tour by our lovely guide Alexandria we learned a lot of history and knowledge of the present times in Catania too. I joined a lovely couple from New York USA, a Noah from Canada so there were 5 of us including our guide. A lovely thing to do especially when your a solo tourist. I cannot recommend it enough and not expensive.
Brilliant guided tour, delicious food and excellent drinks. Answered all of our questions and thoroughly enjoyed our experience
Perfect way to see the city in areas you would not even know about. Very knowledgeable guide and so friendly.
Great experience! You get a taste of quality-streetfood and you learn about the history of the city. Bonus: Alessandra gave me extra tips what to visit (no waste of money!) I recommend this experience to everyone! Thank you, Alessandra!
Fantastic food and wine walking tour of Catania. A truly wonderful way of getting a sense of the history, culture and local food favorites as you navigate through the city. Our guide was first rate and would highly recommend this tour.
Our food tour of Catania featured samplings of traditional Sicilian food and wine along with historical background of various sites throughout the city center. Our guide was fantastic and we highly recommend this excursion as a great way to get the flavor and culture of the city.
We really enjoyed this tour. The food was delicious and varied, giving us a real sense of local specialities. In addition, Alassandra gave us a wonderful, friendly and informative tour of the city centre, with insights on its history. The pace was just right, with time to sit, chat and enjoy the food and a leisurely stroll through lovely streets. We have been on food tours in many cities and recommend this one. Alassandra was a delightful hostess, proud of her city, its food and culture.
We were very lucky to have the tour to ourselves. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the food sampling was very generous and tasty. We would be very happy to recommend this tour
Our guide was very knowledgeable of the area and history as we toured Catania and tasted the local favorites! Be sure to some hungry!!
This was a wonderful experience for our family to be able to achieve together. We heard wonderful tales of the city of Catania. While eating delicious food and hearing about the culture of the city. We would highly recommend (nickname - Pepper)
This tour is a great mix of market visits, both fish and produce, history of the area and tastings. Alessandra is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, passionate about her city and fun and informative to spend time with.
Our guide was very nice, she was on time and gave us a nice little tour around Catania. The food was good and we tried a lot of things. Great option if you're too lazy to check for cool food places yourself.
I had a wonderful tour with Alessandra. The food was great, and Alessandra‘s knowledge, familiarity, and love for the city of Catania were a welcome introduction to the city. All of the dishes were delicious, and were uniquely local. I was the only one on the tour, and I appreciated that the tour was not canceled, even though there was only one client. This allowed for Alessandra to answer any, and all questions I had about life in Catania. Thanks for a great experience!
It was a great way to explore Catania. We enjoyed the knowledge and insight our guide provided us of the history and the area. It’s a great way to understand a new city while also tasting some great food!
Great way to experience Catania. The guide was great. Even if I was the only one I am happy that the tour was organised. I learned a lot and the trip was well organised.
The guides were very knowledgeable about the history of the area, and we all enjoyed the experience . The tastings were generous and the tour in the fish market was very interesting
I particularly enjoyed this tour, in addition to the good street food also a good tour in the center of the city with fish market and vegetable market! the small number of participants of 5 people was very pleasant. Francesco our guide was very friendly, charming and relaxed, the participants very nice and funny!
A great way to experience Catania with our very knowledgeable guide, Serena. Learned a lot about history and culture of the city and sampled great local food!
Marina was incredible! So full of knowledge and ready to answer any and all questions. The food was amazing! And so much of it too, I didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day
We had a wonderful time wandering the streets of Catania, learning about its history, and sampling so many different foods along the way. I have to warn you that is is much more food than you are probably expecting! We were full before the end, but everything was so good that we kept eating. Ana was our tour guide and did a great job telling us about everything and answering all of our questions.
Our guide Anna was lovely and gave us a nice mix of foody information and historical information. The food was great and meant we didn’t need lunch. The walking part of the tour was a great way to see the old town and the markets. Would definitely tour to try some local Catanian food.
Thought the tour was great and our guide Anna excellent. She was super knowledgeable and keen. Good variety of stops and good balance between walking at eating. Highly recommend.
We had samples of cheeses, caponata, cipollina, orange spritz, arancini, and dessert. Because of a mix up with the partners, we could have had fish after dessert. We chose not to. We were tired. The walk was long. Catania has a wonderful history, as told by our guide. I wish the city were cleaner! Garbage all over!
This tour was a blast! We sampled all kinds of foods, working our way through old and down town Catania. Anna shared her love for her city and its unique foods. Everything tasted so good and we returned to several places on other days! Well worth it!
Irene was our guide and she was great. We had so much fun. Food was more than enough. We would always do this tour again.
This was a great tour to taste local food and see some parts of the city while walking from one food stop to the next.
Anna really showed us the Beauty of Catania, the best of the sicilian street food and explained the history of the city. We loved it! And we really recommend not eating breakfast before.
Was a really good experience, with really good food, and an excellent guide. The stops where well chosen
We had a terrific and tasty 3-hour street food tour with our friendly, knowledgeable and overall wonderful guide, Anna. Everything from the famed arancini to fresh sardines to fresh fruit sparkling drinks and more, plus we learned a lot of Catania history. Excellent! Thank you, Anna!
Our guide, Anna, was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Her English was fantastic. This was the perfect walking tour to get to know the main places in Catania, as well as enjoying the amazing local foods.
We met Selena our guide and one other guest on the main square. Serena then explained the history and led us for a short walk through the fish market. Our first stop was for a platter of typical local meat, cheese and olives. Each was delicious although we find the olives strong tasting for our palate. After another short walk we stopped for a cone of fried fish. This included prawn, sardine, squid and octopus. Each had been coated lightly in flour and breadcrumbs and we're very good and definitely fresh! After a walk past some of Catania's beautiful Baroque buildings we stopped for Arancino and a savoury flaky pastry. A refreshing typical lemon drink was followed by a delicious granita. Serena was a great guide, full of interesting facts and looked after us well.
Sadly UA cancelled outbound flight so didn't make it. Was really impressed when Ana called me after my no show and offered condolences and even said she wouldn't charge me. You can bet I'll seek out Ana when I finally get to Catania.
Excellent tour with Anna very welcoming provided full explanation of tour was obviously enthusiastic about her job answered all questions with ease food on the tour was plentiful hint don't have breakfast overall I would definitely recommend this tour especially if Anna is your guide
Anna was very nice and told us a Lot about the sicilian culture. We were at places, WE would have never visited without her :)
Serena was our guide. She was really passionate and it was very interesting listening to her talking about the history and some facts about Catania. She was really kind and the food was amazing!! We had a great time. I definitely recommend!
Anna was a great Guide with a Lot of Passion and knowledge. It was really nice to discover so many streets and to eat so many delicious sicilian specialities. We recommend!
If you are looking for a nice street tour of Catania with a side order of street food , then this is right for you. Anna our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the city, its culture and the food. She was very personable, spoke English very well and was attentive. We really enjoyed being with her. The tour began at the Piazza del Duomo on time and headed to the fish market where we sampled some local cheese as well as paper cones of fried fish. We then headed deeper into the city center up and down the streets where we samples local arancini and cipolline as well as seltz-limone e sale drinks. We finished off the tour with some welcome granite. The length of the tour was about four hours. We had just enough time to walk back to the Catania Central Train Station to catch our train back north.
Great experience in getting to know Catania. Sightseeing, interesting insights, delicious food and an extensive walk all combined!
Not too bad, our guide really loves her food. But we have done many of these foodtours were the tour guide knew all the local food shop sellers and owners and marketstand salesmen. And then he/she would talk to them and get all these little things to try, straight from the hand. Fruits and veg you have never seen. Meats, fish and cheeses done in certain ways you've never tried before, etc. This tour had some good knowledge but paying 120 euro for 3 people for some of the things you try worth maybe 10 euro a person, I give it 3 stars.
