Full Day Taormina And Castelmola Tour With Messina Shore Excursion

Due to cancellations our 8:30 departure got moved up to 9:30. I was very concerned about cutting too close to our ship departure time, but not only did Sara assure we would be fine, she even offered to have me return with a different tour guide who was leaving a bit earlier. Knowing that, I was much more relaxed during this wonderful tour. Sara was knowledgeable and engaging. She provided so many interesting details and she was a lot of fun. Her sense of humor coupled with her knowledge made for a pleasant and unforgettable experience. Discover Messina is a first class operation. They were in touch with me several times between the time I booked and the day before the excursion. I highly recommend this tour company , and if you’re lucky enough to have Sara as your guide, you hit the jackpot, though I imagine all of their guides are excellent.

Wonderful tour company.absolutely recommend them highly. I used them last fall for the Godfather and Taormina excursion With my husband. He loved it. My tour guide from last year actually remembered me when I was waiting for this tour. Came up and hugged me! They use very friendly and knowledgeable guides and offer little extras which make it so well done.

Discover Messina Sicily was incredible! The tour guide "Antonella" was so full of life and very knowledgeable. She made the journey memorable. The boat cruise was wonderful, the caves were beautiful and all team members were outstanding. Best excursion I have been on in several years.

We loved our excursion. There views were stunning and our driver Renzo was amazing. How he navigated those roads was beyond me. Our guide Sara was extremely knowledgeable and helpful as she answered all of our questions. This is a not to be missed tour.

Another great tour! It was nice to be picked up at the earliest hour possible and then be the first to arrive at all the spots. Marita was very knowledgeable and the special treats on the bus was an extra nice gesture!

This was a wonderful tour. We absolutely loved Taormina. Beautiful town and such an interesting history. The theater was incredible! We were so fortunate to be able to see Mt. Etna!! Had a fantastic lunch and bought some fabulous chocolate!!! Our tour guide Sara was very good and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour.

This tour was great. We realized that tour groups with smaller vans can go all the way to the top at Castelmola but the big tour buses (those arranged by the cruise) cannot. Those people had to climb up the hill and were not happy. After about an hour drive to Castelmola we had time to explore the ruins and cute town. We then went to Taormina where the guide led us from gate to gate through the town. I had paid for a ticket to the amphitheater so the guide took us there while the others explored on their own. It was worth it! Then there was plenty of time to eat on our own, shop, and explore before it was time to leave. The guide was super sweet and knowledgeable and gave us a local cookie to sample on the bus. We got back to port well before ship departure.

The tour was very good and our guide was very knowledgeable. The boat excursion was fun and we saw some amazing sights from the water. I would highly recommend.

Everything was wonderful. Serena was a great guide. I would recommend that the tour operator be clear on the description page that there are stairs to be climbed and lots of walking. Some folks who were not in great walking/climbing shape were a bit upset they weren’t informed prior and remained on the bus. Serena was calm and kind and we loved the tour. Ricardo is an amazing Driver! Great day for us.

Cruise dock day, the port pick up and drop off was well organised. Had time to wonder around and shop too. Sara explained well. We enjoyed this tour. Driver is very good too! Mini bus is clean and Aircon, comfortable.

A fantastic tour for people on a cruise. The pick up point was easy and we got back in plenty of time. Our tour guide Sara was full of information about all the sites we visited, including the Greek/Roman theatre in Taorima. Would definitely recommend this trip to others. The only downside was the minivan had next to no suspension, which made for a very hard and jarring ride - not good for sore backs.

Our guide Sara was funny and informative during our tour. She did great guiding us through the 2 locations. We also liked having some free time to just walk around, eat, and shop.

Spectacular views and wonderful guide. The clouds even cleared long enough for amazing, smoking view of Mt. Etna. You won't be disappointed. Definitely made us want to come back to experience more of Sicily

Discover Messina sent me a WhatsApp message after I booked the tour. This tour was designed for cruise ship passengers. They picked up at the cruise ship terminal. The instruction was very clear. After the tour started, we were given a water and an almond cookie which is a local delicacy. Tour guide Elisa was professional who explained things clearly. We visited castle Mola and Taormina. In both places tour guide gave us the tours and we had plenty of time to explore. I felt very comfortable as there was no rush at either place. After we were dropped off at the end of the tour, we still had time to walk around the center of Messina. I would recommend this tour if you ever come to Messina by cruise ship.

Fantastic tour. Our guide Elisa was excellent. She was knowledgeable and shared information while traveling on the bus to our destination as well as throughout the tour. She provided addition guidance to me regarding gluten free food options. In addition, Discover Messina, the operator of this tour, provided clear communication regarding a meeting point and timing. Overall, this was an outstanding tour, which was very well organized.

We booked the Discover Messina Sicily tour. The tour company communicated a week in advance with us sending all needed info and clear instructions of where we will meet our tour guide. We had a group of 16 friends and family traveling on Celebrity Cruise line. We were greeted by Sara our tour guide and the driver Giovanni. The transportation was clean and luxurious and Sara made the tour interesting and fun. Every one in our group had an amazing time and it was truly a 5 star experience.

My wife & I went on a 12 day Italy, Messina and Croatia cruise with Celebrity and booked excursions in every port. This Taormina & Castelmola bus & guide tour from our ship in Messina was the best organized and our favorite of all the excursions. The bus was modern, clean and the driver was not only talented but super careful as well. We did several “small group” excursions in the other ports and we still liked this one the most.

Discover Messina is a very professional tour company. The itinerary,the knowledge of the guide are flawless. The guide wait on time right beside the cruise and we were warmly welcomed. The scene on the way and spot are fantastic. We have a wonderful day in Messina I recommend everyone to join their tour and you will not regret.

This was a really fun and informative tour led by Mariarita who had a great sense of humor and gave of a lot of tips on foods to try and things to look out for in each port. The communication was excellent as well. We were on a cruise ship and made it to the stops and back to the ship in plenty of time, but do be prepared for a bit of drive to get to the destinations. Thankfully, great AC on the bus, which was especially welcome on a hot summer day.

We booked a day trip to Castelmona and Taormina as part of our cruise holiday. Sicily was the only port where we booked an organised trip and we are so glad we did. There had been two nasty accidents on the main highway the day of our excursion meaning lots of trips had to be cancelled, but our excellent guide Sara and her driver took us on a diverted and scenic route. The journey took just over three hours instead of about one hour but it was well worth it. Sara was very professional and also very informative and full of fun. She made sure we didn't lose out on time spent in Taormina and still got us back in plenty of time for the ship's departure. Everything was seamless from start to finish so thank you. Would highly recommend and excellent value for money.

Our guide was fun on our Taormina day trip from the Messina port. Our first stop in Castelmola was a medieval town with a beautiful view of Mount Etna and the coast. The second stop in Taormina was a highlight of our trip. The ancient theater was interesting. The town was lively with many restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed fine dining with a view that was spectacular.

We loved this day outing! Our guide Mariarita was exceptional and shared information and made recommendations as we drove for various places to check out in the area. Gorgeous views of Mt Etna in Castelmola! Her guided walking tour in Taormina and at the theater was also enjoyable and engaging. She clearly likes what she does! Our driver, Lorenzo, navigated the crazy roads with ease. Heartily recommend this tour and Mariarita in particular.

Our tour guide, Mariatta, was the best! We had a wonderful day and saw everything that we were supposed to see. She gave us ample time in Taormina to walk around on our own. We thought she looked familiar and sure enough she was our tour guide 2 years ago. She is great and the company is super.

A great experience with Katia she was so knowledgeable and took us around Castelmola, Taormina and the Roman theatre which brought Sicily alive to us! Well worth the money

This was a shore excursion for us, from the Port of Messina. Our guide, Katia, was top notch. She gave us a tour filled with passion, knowledge and glimpses into Sicilian life in the past and present along with an inspiring walking tour with so many beautiful views. Katia was also very knowledgeable about upcoming changes in Sicily that focused on tourism. Toward the end of the tour she gave us some hidden gems for a quick bite and then dessert. We recently took this trip as part of our cruise holiday. We can thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit both Castelmola and Taormina. It was very efficient from start to finish and our guide Sara G'Acomo was an absolute delight. She was so knowledgeable and brought humour to the trip and really went out of her way to ensure we had the best experience. There had been two serious accidents on the highway that day which could have cancelled our trip (many were) but Sara and the driver made sure we still had the best day despite the trip taking longer than anticipated. We also had the reassurance that they would get us back to the ship in time for embarkation. Very good value for money.

This was exactly as advertised. Taormina is especially great. We had an excellent guide that was full of useful and informative information. I especially liked that she sent us a link to a Google Maps location of where we would meet the bus in Taormina. Definitely recommend this tour

Wonderful tour/hike of amazing Greek and Roman ruins!! The arena was fantastic to see--crazy that it is still in use thousands if years later!! Very good guide! Castlemola was beautiful and the town was quaint and lovely! Wear good shoes -- lots of steps and walking.

What a wonderful day! Our guide was Mariarita. She is wonderful! Told us everything to eat to make us "Happy"! We loved both Castlemola & Taormina! We also added on the Greek Theatre. The view of Mt Etna from there is worth the ticket price!
