Etna Trekking And Wine Tasting

Dan was our driver and tour guide. We really enjoyed our time with him! Took about an hour and half to get from the port to Etna. Once we got there Dan stayed with us and we took the cable cars to the very top on the volcano. The views were amazing! The hike is a little difficult and it cold and windy so I recommend bringing a jacket. It was definitely worth it. Then we headed to the wine tasting at the most beautiful winery. They give you plenty of food with the wine tasting. We really enjoyed our time there. Dan made sure we got back to the cruise ship in time. Highly recommend this tour.

Luca, our guide, spoke terrific English and was knowledgeable about the volcano. He was patient with us trekking and answered all our questions.

Overall, the tour was fairly good. Our guide seemed a little off due to what seemed to be some kind of conflict with a booking agent. However, the hike around Mount Etna was really interesting, and he shared a lot of interesting information and stories. The wine tasting didn't feel like the best value for the price - after a morning of hiking, a small plate of cheese and olives didn't really cut it in terms of the food. If I were to do it again, I would probably book separate tours for Etna and the wine tasting.

We truly enjoyed trekking in Etna. Our guide, Janet was very helpful and had a wealth of knowledge about this fascinating volcano and its landscape.She went out of her way to accommodate us throughout the day.. An unforgettable day. Thank you!

Dan was a great guide. Allowed us all to enjoy Etna and the winery for extended times. Hiking was for a couple of hours at a pace all 3 couples enjoyed, some a little more in front and others spread out a little. No worries for Dan or any of us. Winery small bites and wine tasting very nice and not hurried. Good balance between the 2 experiences.

Great excursion walking up the Aetna slope. Our guide Roberto was very knowledgeable and helpful making the drive a pleasant experience. The wine tour was out of this world. The white wines were excellent and each wine selection was accompanied by a lot of complementary foods. Highly recommend this tour.

We were picked up by our tour guide promptly and the journey was good and our guide (Dan) was very informative. The tour was great and wine tasting/taster food was great. Only issue we had was that our friend left his glasses in the van. The company acknowledged they had them and I asked they post these back to the UK and heard nothing since.

We had a wonderful day with Dan. Our guide Dan took care that everyone of the group was Part of the Tour. We have learned a lot about the Etna (thanks Dan!) and had an amazing wine tasting with lunch at Patriot. It‘s not a big hiking tour but go for it, if you want to spend a nice day near Etna with a great wine tasting!

Danilo was an amazing guide and this trip was even better than we could have imagined!!! The hiking had incredible views and the wine and food tasting was spectacular!

Picked up by Dani - who made the effort to find us as the street our hotel was on was closed. It ended up being only me and my partner kn the tour - so I appreciated it going ahead! Dani was our private guide who drove to Mount Etna and accompanied us up the Volcano. Note that to go up to 3000m is extra (75 euros each). Dani was great as he knew a lot about the area and volcano and was happy to take pictures for us. We then visited the Enoteca Dell Etna winery which was fabulous - we had the most fabulous host (can’t remember her name!) but she did a fab job at introducing delicious wines and accompanying foods! Warning - you’re given 4 courses of amazing food! we were not expecting such generosity, so make sure you’re hungry! Overall was a great day and a must if you’re in Catania.

Danilo was an excellent guide! We had a private tour and he made the experience memorable. We had my 2 year old nephew with us who got carsick and Danilo was so patient even though it made our day run a little longer. Since some of our group elected not to go up to 3000m, he stayed back with them and showed them around the other craters. The 3000m (south side) experience was 79€ extra (charged by the folks on Etna, not the tour company) for 1.5 hours but the views and terrain up there are pretty cool. We went in Sept and it was pretty chilly and windy up at the top. After this, we went to a beautiful winery with a tasting of 4 wines and a 3 course lunch. This place was packed and we got seated right away. Overall an amazing day with good food, wine and views and all taken care of from pick up to drop off. Would highly recommend this tour!

Alex was an exceptional guide. His knowledge of the volcano really made the tour. We had a cloudy/rainy day but we’re still able to see a few craters and appreciate Mt Etna. The wine tasting was fantastic. We even ordered some wine to be shipped to the US!

The hike was pretty cool and Dan was a great guide A little disappointed about the price to go further up on the gondola Wine tasting was good - the food was better ! Well worth the time

Dani was a fabulous tour guide! We had a group of 8 people and we all had so much fun. He was super entertaining, knowledgeable and accommodating to all of our needs and requests. He is also native to the area and gave us a lot of facts about the town as well as recommendations for food and things to see. It was a great experience.

What an amazing tour. Danilo escorted us to trek all 7 craters, ensuring our safety and experience. We then had a Sicilian winer experience, trekking Mt Etna and an unexpected food experience. Couldn’t have asked for more. Totally above and beyond.

I highly recommend this trip. The guide Roberto is knowledgeable and experienced. We learned a lot of interesting information. We visited the Etna volcano and cave. All 4 if us so enjoyed our Private Tour up and around Mt. Etna. Our molto Siciliano guide Roberto was so engaging, entertaining and informative, telling us all about the area's geology, geography, history, culture, flora, fauna. Fascinating. The tour ended with a sunset dinner of delicious Sicilian specialties paired with wines at a beautiful and historic local vineyard. Abbondanza! Great tour, great guide. It was a nice and very interesting tour. The guide tried very hard. Unfortunately, the originally booked (German speaking) guide was ill. 2 fellow travellers do not speak English, but we have translated. Lunch was totally delicious and Etna an experience.

Excursion to Etna on 10.8.2024. Perfect tour: from the means of transport, to the route, to the scenic stops. Moreover, our Guide Roberto is an Expert biologist in the area, an excellent connoisseur of the Etna flora and fauna. He also explained the volcano's eruptions over time. We strongly recommend.
