Our driver Marco was a gem! He was not only a wealth of information he was fun and made sure we saw and experienced everything we wanted to see. So glad we took his recommendation and went to the north side of Mt Etna as we felt like we had it all to ourselves. Lunch at the winery was magical. Ms Rosa’s shop you don’t want to miss either.

We did not fully understand what was included in the day when we booked other than the winery but we ended up having a great experience! Marco was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. We enjoyed the coffee break, climbing Mt Etna, and the lunch overlooking the area at the winery.
Our family had a great visit to Etna with an amazing guide Corrado. He was very knowledgeable. It was my wife and 2 boys 10 and 12. It was one of our favorite tours that we took out Messina from our cruise. The winery was beautiful with great views. The food there was delicious. Highly recommend
We had an absolutely wonderful day exploring Mount Etna with Marco. His knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm made the experience so interesting and enjoyable from start to finish. He was especially fantastic with our 10-year-old son, Alex, making sure he felt included and engaged throughout the day. A real highlight was the incredible lunch at a beautiful family-owned winery, which was such a special and authentic experience. This was an highlight of our whole vacation thus far!! Along the way, Marco also introduced us to some wonderful local Sicilian delicacies, adding even more to an already amazing day. Marco truly went above and beyond to make our tour unforgettable. We left with a much deeper appreciation for Mount Etna and Sicily, and we couldn't recommend him more highly. Thank you, Marco, for such a memorable experience!
We very much enjoy the day. Corrado our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable about the volcanic eruptions and the aftermath it left. We were able to explore an underground volcanic cave as well as walk up a volcanic crater. It was awesome. Lunch at the winery at the end of the day was very enjoyable. We would recommend this tour.
We definitely had one of the best experiences of our lives! Thank you so much Omar!! we went a little bit off of the grid because we didn’t want to freeze our butts off and 0° weather so you were quick to think on your feet. You knew this area very well as it’s your hometown. Thank goodness for that I know that there’s a lot of tour guys that are definitely not from that area and I really appreciated that. You were also super witty and fun you made the day very enjoyable!! Thank you for taking us to all of the hidden gems in that area:) You treated us like family! We had so many laughs. I also found it to be very nice that I could understand your English very well. Some people don’t have the best broken English and I appreciated that as well. We had the best day we went up to Savoca and saw the area where the godfather was filmed, and you helped us do a little reenactment of walking down the street as if we were to have just gotten married from the church. It was super cute! Thank you for taking some of the best pictures and videos while also handling our personal belongings at times. You also took us to one of the best wineries in the area and we had lunch while a little wine tasting. We were also able to do a little walk-through of the winery. We will definitely cherish these moments for the rest of our lives!! Please keep in touch!!
The trip to Mount Etna was okay, but the wine lunch and winery were awful. It was a steep and I mean steep walk up to the so-called winery, which was a disappointment. For the price, I would have thought we would have been taken to a real winery. I will never use this company.
We had a great time. Our guide Alberto was excellent very passionate showing us Etna. After we went for lunch at a family winery, real Italian food made by the wife of the owner. We did the tour in May of 2025 the day was great.
We booked this private tour while in Sicily as part of a cruise for a group of 20 people. Corrado, our guide, was punctual and met us at the port. He was very friendly. Our first stop was to taste local honey, olive oil and wines - all delicious. The next stop was a volcanic cave of Etna. Our next stop at the family owned Gambino winery was excellent. We had wine tasting with food pairing. Delicious wine and food - a really good selection for us. The only downside was the weather, it was raining, which limited our views.
We had a wonderful time on a half day tour of Mt Etna and visiting a beautiful winery on the volcano with Prestelli in June 2024! Our guide was so nice and very knowledgeable. We saw so much and loved it- it was completely first class and a great experience. I recommend Prestelli to everyone and look forward to booking again with these great people on our next trip to Sicily!
Visit to Mt Etna was amazing as was winery tour with tasting and lunch. Marco was great and very accommodating, recommend without hesitation.
Marco was wonderful! We throughly enjoyed our tour and learned a lot about Sicily! Loved the vineyard and walking in the mountain! Also enjoyed the stop at a store near My Etna!
While Mt Etna was interesting, the real star of the show was the vineyard. It was such a beautiful place. Our guide Maurizio was very knowledge and friendly. we really enjoyed seeing the Sicilian countryside. A must do
Long drive to Mt. Etna and then visit was very short. Our guide/driver was a bit inflexible and we just had to put our foot down just fit in a little more of a walk. We found the day a bit boring. I think there is a lot to do at Mt. Etna and we missed out.
We booked the private Etna and Winery tour for our cruise ship stop in Messina. This was the best day that we had in our entire 10 day trip. Our guide Alberto picked us up from the cruise port and took us to taste honey and olive oils. We then went and hiked the craters on Mt Etna. He is extremely knowledgeable and shared so much about the area with us. Our lunch and wine tasting was amazing! Gorgeous views and great wine. Alberto heard my daughter mention she loved cannoli so he stopped on the way back to port so we could try Sicilian cannoli. It was such an amazing day. My only regret was that we didn't have an empty suitcase to bring home even more wine, honey, and olive oils! We would book this tour again and recommend it to anyone. Others on our cruise ship that had booked tours through other operators were very disappointed. I am so glad we found Prestelli Tours!
Wow - what a great way to spend the day in Messina. Marco picked us up and provided us with a fun and educational tour. He is a great driver, and really knows his Sicilian history. The winery was amazing, had excellent wine, great food and great service.
We had a terrific day of wine tasting at three different locations picked out by our guide Maurizio. His efforts to make our experience memorable surpassed any expectations one could have, and his connections opened up doors not normally available for a wine loving group. He is highly recommended!
Such a personal and beautiful experience. We went to a family owned vineyard that was just stunning with a delicious meal. Icing on the cake was our tour guide, Sergio, who was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. The volcano is a must see and I hope when we return we can spend more time in Taormina.
We enjoyed our trip to Etna with our guide Davide and driver Antonio. They went out of their way to make sure we had the best experience, thank you!
Amazing tour with Marko! We had 3 kids 10,8 and 3 and they were amazing understanding what we needed and helping with the kids! Coffee shop at the beginning was amazing to get quick bite and stretch kids legs. Van was comfortable as well! Volcano was great to see and the winery was perfect!! Marko was there yo help the whole way can not recommend more!
We had a lovely day in Sicily with a drive to Mt Etna, walking along the crater, then a very tasty lunch with typical Sicilian foods that were all unusual for an American palate. Maurizio made an extra stop for gelato for us, which was very much appreciated. This was a very good use of our port time in Messina- the drive is long, but the views and personalized experience were perfect.
Antonio our driver/guide is informative and funny. Lively conversation throughout the day. Accommodated special requests to stop at Greek theatre. Honey, olives, and olive oil tasting was fabulous. Highly recommend
We had such a blast with Roberto on this tour! He was so passionate and knowledgeable about his job around where he lives. The honey, olive oil, and liquor tasting was so fun and delicious! Then we visited the top of Etna where we got to learn about the history. And finished it all of with an amazing lunch and wine tasting with great views and a tour of the historic winery. Highly recommend and wish we could be back there now!
We stopped off in Sicily as part of a cruise and we were looking for a trip to take in the sights and taste some Sicilian wines. Roberto our guide was punctual and met us at the port. He was very friendly and enthusiastic about Sicily. His English was excellent. Our first stop was to taste local honey, olive oil and wines - all delicious. Even our fussy children found something they liked! The next stop was at the top of Etna - amazing views from the top. Roberto was very knowledgable and made it interesting for the children. Our final stop at the family owned Gambino winery was excellent. We had wine tasting with food pairing. Delicious wine and food - a really good selection for us and they made pasta for the children. There is no way that we could have experienced all this if we had tried to organise it ourselves. The day was excellent and really well organised and Roberto was first class!
Was somewhat disapointed with this excursion. The description didn't really list how much the Etna volcano part was the emphasis of the excursion. The drive to the volcano was an hour and a half, and then they wanted you to spend TWO HOURS there - hiking, or "whatever". As my 86 year old mother was with us, this was not an option. Additionally, we had a driver, and a tour guide. The tour guide's ("Bear") English was just OK, but she had only been in the job for 2 months. The driver, Luisa, did not speak a work of English, but had a FABULOUS personality, and obviously knew LOTS MORE than the tour guide, so had to tell the guide things to point out to us, and then the guide translated to us. We wished SO MUCH that Luisa spoke English, as she was much more knowledgeable, and had a fabulous personality!!!
We visited Mt Etna and then had lunch at a grapevine covered taverns overlooking a vineyard. The food was among the best we had on our two week trip to Italy and Greece. Wonderful salad, sausages, and wines were all served by pleasant and accommodating waitstaff. We also had one of the vintners explain their process. Our guide Maurizio’s passion for his region shone through the entire visit. He was extremely informative and pleasant. We felt like we were being shown around by a friend.
Beat the crowds and do what you want tour!!! Etna is wonderful. What a sight!! Food was Great!! The Wine was worth the trip all by itself. Guide was very knowledgeable and customized the trip for us.
Mariolina was a great hostess and was very informative. Johnny was an excellent driver. Together they shared Sicily with us - a honey farm, Mt Etna, a phenomenal winery and a quaint dessert shop. I would recommend this trip to anyone going to the area!
My family of two adults and three teenagers were visiting Messina via cruise ship and in port for one day. I encountered the private tour from Messina of Mount Etna Volcano and Winery Visit with Food and Wine Tasting on-line and was pleasantly surprised to learn I could customize a tour specific for my family. Nadia helping design a private itinerary which also included a beach visit. Mariolina was our tour guide and Luisa our driver who met us at the cruise pier. They were both kind, professional, knowledgeable and shared wonderful insight regarding Messina and the surrounding towns in Sicily. On our way to Mount Etna we visited a honey farm for tasting Etna wines, liquors, honey, olive oils. We were thrilled the items were available for purchase allowing us to share the unique infused honey, olive oils and liquors as souvenirs for family and friends back home. Next we hiked the Silvestri Craters of Mount Etna before transferring to the historic and beautiful Estate of Murgo for a tour of the wine cellars where we learned the traditional method by which champagne is made and how the volcanic soil gives the wines a particular mineral taste. We were seated at a table overlooking the picturesque vineyard while being treated to delectable food and wine tasting. Next we transferred to Giardini Naxos for a beach break and shopping before driving back to the port of Messina. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to experience Sicily with friendly, cultured and passionate guides. Thank you for an incredible experience!
