Guide picked us up on time, good meeting place. Needed to engage a bit more and get people talking, focused more on task rather than including us in activity. Felt a bit hurried and pushed thru quickly to make decisions, especially about taking cable car up to secondary area. I don’t remember reading about the extra cost to do this, I might have missed it. I did enjoy the mountain. The cave was disapppointing, thought it was a walk thru ? Why bother? The tasting was blah….felt it was just to sell their product. Should have offered lunch as an include. Probably could have done more on the mountain. Also ask people if they want a few minutes to walk thru shops and get a souvenir. I did enjoy seeing the mountain though.

Our guides knowledge was amazing, but we would have liked to do more hiking. The wine tasting was not impressive but the restaurant itself is set in a lovely area.
Our guide was hugely informative about Etna and about Syracuse and Sicily, so the tour was great from that point of view. Please note though: this tour only takes you a little way up Etna - it does not take you anywhere near the top - we thought this should have been made clearer during the booking process. Also be aware that the tastings included in the tour do not constitute lunch. If you want that, it is an extra. It is not particularly expensive, but I think that people should be aware of this before booking. Despite these two caveats, it was a fun and interesting half day!
Salvatore looked after us from start to finish. His tour was lively , interesting and bespoke. He made the group feel at ease.
Easy connection and simple to make the reservation. We were picked up in siracusa for the ride to Mt Etna. Salvator Mario entertained us with stories of the volcano. We learned a lot.
A brilliant tour, very interesting and varied. Our guide was Eduardo, he was excellent, very knowledgeable and patient, with good English. There were just 4 of us on the tour, and we chose to hike around the lower craters rather than pay extra to go up the cable car. It was an interesting walk, quite challenging at times, walking uphill in deep black ash (like sand), but we never felt rushed, and Eduardo stopped lots of times to explain things we saw - aspects of the volcanic landscape, the history of Etna, the local flora and fauna, all sorts of things. After the hike, we drove in the minibus to a lava cave, where we were given helmets and torches to go down and explore, with Eduardo explaining how these caves were formed Our final stop was at a lovely vineyard/restaurant to sample wines and treats made locally, close to Etna. There was no pressure to buy anything (although we did as it was very nice!) All in all, a really enjoyable day, much longer and better than we were expecting. We'd highly recommend this trip to others.
Messed us around for several hours before eventually cancelling the booking. Wasted half a day waiting around for a pick up that never came. Didn't get to experience the one thing we came to Sicily for. Complete disappointment.
Amazing tour, we loved every minute of this once in a lifetime experience! Logistics were clear, the tour was informative and we met s lot of lovely people! Don't miss it!
There were just 6 of us on this trip and Federico was very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the Mountain and the flora and fauna. He had an easy relaxed manner with a translatable sense of humour. He took his time with each member of the group making sure we understood and were happy. After the mountain we ventured into a lava tube and then onto a farm/shop to sample their produce. I would definitely recommend Etna Tribe - I wish I'd found them sooner during my stay in Sicily as they offer other trips that I would like to have done.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Frederico. Wonderful guide , destination was fantastic experience . Our guide looked after us very well
The Wife & I took a short break to Sicily, and stayed on Ortigia. While there, we decided to take a morning tour to Etna. We were picked-up by Federico at 8.30 by the Piazza Pantheon in Siracusa, and we were delighted to discover that we were the only couple on the tour, so it turned out to be a 'private' tour (which, if that's what we had booked, would have been much more expensive. Federico was brilliant, he didn't just know about the volcanology but, also, shared interesting information about the botany, ornithology and viticulture of the area. Wearing hard hats, we ventured inside a lava tube on the way to visit an extinct crater at c2,000m elevation. We didn't take the cable car up to 2,500m, as we've seen plenty of lunar landscapes during trips to Iceland. Federico explained that two of the more elevated craters were active, and we could see plumes of steam and sulphur dioxide spewing into the sky - which, on the day we visited, was clear blue. On the way back to Siracusa (it took about an hour), we stopped-off at a vineyard, where we sampled lovely locally-produced food, both red & white wines and some much stronger stuff. There was, of course, an opportunity to purchase such things and we availed ourselves of that opportunity. We arrived back in Ortigia at c3pm, so it was a long half-day. Thank you, Federico!
We had a lovely tour with Etna Tribe. Enzo was a brilliant tour guide and was not only extremely knowledgeable and fun, but made sure we were comfortable and happy all day - thank you Enzo! It was lovely to see Mt Etna and Taormina during the full day tour - would definitely recommend.
An excellent guide in Frederico. Knowledgeable, chatty and friendly and with very good English. You have a choice at Etna or continuing up the cable car (at an extra charge) or walking with Frederico around the lower edges. He then takes you inside a Lava Tube, and on to a wonderful local estate for wine, oil and produce tasting. This was an unexpected bonus for us as we were not expecting it. We really would thoroughly recommend the tour with Frederico and it's also pretty good value too.
We (a family of four with two adult children) did the Etna morning tour from Syracuse. We were part of a small group of 7 picked up from Syracuse by our guide and driver, Federico. Federico was a great guide, informative and friendly and tailored our hike to the group's wishes. The trip to Mount Etna itself was amazing, as was the lava tube, and the tasting of local produce was far more extensive and varied than we had anticipated. Overall a wonderful day.
Simone was a great guide. He was clear, knowledgable, and passionate, ready to answer any question. I would recommend this tour to anyone. The tasting at the end makes for a nice treat with the option to buy specialty products
we booked the Etna nature and flavors tour thanks to real good reviews we found in here and i have to admit that it was totally worth it! With only 55 € pp you have the transport( they pick us up directly at the hotel with brand new van), the guide , all the equipment to visit the cave ( helmet and torces) and a real good taste in a local farm. We was really lucky to have Claudio as our guide, he was really funny and gave us a lot of information about volcanos, local areas, and he suggested us a lot of cool places to spend the night. We recommend this a lot, it will not ruin your expectations and you are lucky enough to have Claudio as your guide you will enjoying it even more ;). thank you!
Federico was a very nice guide 😊 great accompaniment! Plan on wearing walking shoes and a one and a half hour hike anyway Magnificent site 😍
We recommend the morning tour to Etna from Syracuse to anyone who is on holiday in the area and would like to see Europe's highest volcano. Our guide Federico met us at 8:30 a.m. at Piazza Pantheon in Syracuse. Due to the heavy traffic, we recommend allowing enough time if you are arriving by car. The Parcheggio Gelone is a 3-minute walk away, but at €2/hour it is rather expensive for the region. We were very happy when Federico told us that we were not expecting any other guests that day and that we would have a private tour for the two of us. On the way up Etna, our guide told us many interesting facts about the formation of the Etna craters and the peculiarities of the surrounding flora and fauna. We made a stop at an old lava field, where we visited a cave wearing helmets. When we arrived at the valley station of Etna, we were able to choose whether we wanted to explore the lower craters with Federico or take the cable car further up. We decided on the Etna 3000 mt experience. Our guide organized the tickets for the cable car and the bus (ticket price €78 per person still to be paid) and carefully guided us to the entrance. After about 2 hours we met up with Federico again at the vehicle and, as the last stop of the trip, we were taken to a local inn on the lower slopes of Etna. There we were treated to a very delicious and extensive tasting of specialties from the agriculture around Etna. From drinks to sweets and savory dishes, everything was there. All in all, a very successful trip, Federico anticipated our every wish and answered each of our questions in detail and in easy-to-understand English.
Beautiful day. The guide, Luigi, very prepared and very nice. I recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the wonders of Sicily.
Enzo, our EtnaTribe guide, proved prepared and considerate, he helped to makecancor more enjoyable and interesting the tour on Etna. German Italian mixed group, always involveddances even. Adventure experience But always in safety. Experience absolutely to recommend. Booked through Sicilyng.com
Superb excursion on Mount Etna with the guide Giorgia Lembo. Very professional and attentive to her group, her explanations were very clear on vulcanological phenomena, and she was able to adapt her speech to children as well. Grazie thousand Giorgia! Shiraz.
A very pleasant walk with a very friendly and kind guide (Giorgia Lembo) speaking French very well. A small tasting break of typical products at the end (very good honey)
