Cooking Class In Taormina At Chef Massimo House!!

Absolutely love this experience! Chef Massimo met us on the road in Taormina where he led us to his local market and taught us the ins and outs of fresh produce, meats, and fish. It was interesting and very informative. My husband who had a mobility issue was recognized by the chef and was always given options to sit or get a cab if needed. He was very attentive to a crowd of 14. We proceeded to a private venue where he taught us to prep the food purchased at the market. Chef Massimos process and ways of cooking were very informative. His energy was infectious as was his passion for cooking. We loved his lessons, shopping, cooking learning, and of course, eating with Chef Massimo. It was a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend.

Amazing experience with Chef Massimo!!

Chef Massimo is funny and charming. He was open to requests for specific recipes and went out of his way to teach us really impressive dishes like salt crusted fish and stuffed squash blossoms. And of course lots of handmade pasta. We each had a chance to work on multiple dishes and eating dinner together afterward on the terrace was a delightful experience.

Massimo is the greatest host and chef. Second time doing his shopping and cooking adventure in Taormina as I knew it would be a wonderful experience and wanted to share it with my friends! Beautiful location for an outdoor lunch prepared by our group. Massimo coordinated the prep and cooking so all could learn techniques and he provide good insight into how and why the process led to optimal outcome.

This was the best addition to our trip to Sicily! You truly learn about the culture through this experience. This was also one of the best meals we ate on our whole trip!

We had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our cooking experience. Chef Massimo was incredibly friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, and we learnt so much about Sicilian cooking, ingredients and traditions. The location was excellent and everyone was involved in the preparation and cooking. Our time concluded with a wonderful lunch eating the food we had prepared with plenty of local wine. The whole experience was relaxed, fun and engaging, made even better by a lovely group of people who we really enjoyed spending time with. A wonderful way to spend a few hours in Sicily, learning new skills, sharing good food and enjoying great company. We would highly recommend it!

Chef Massimo was great! He explained everything in great detail, was funny and in a very good mood, and the food he/we prepared together with his crew was spectacular. The fish he grilled was perfect, absolutely delicious. The whole experience was not cheap, but worth the money. Would do it again.

It was fun from start to finish. Shopping for fresh vegetables at the market, going to the butcher shop and walking to massimo’s home which involved going down and back up a few flights of stairs. There were 16 of us which I would have preferred a much smaller group. Massimo is a great instructor with loads of information. For example what type of fish to buy and NOT buy based on appearance. We look forward to receiving an email from Massimo with the recipes.

Cooking class with Chef Massimo was unforgettable. There was a group of 14 of us. He and his staff were wonderful. From making pasta and all the fixings from scratch to preparing Seabass, chef did a great job of instructing and helping us prepare our meal while injecting his sense of humor. The meal was to die for. Set on a beautiful table. He met us downtown where our bus dropped us off and locked us to his house where the meal was prepared.. What a view there was. All together we were there approximately 3 1/2 to 4 hours. A good time was had by all. Thank you Chef once again.

Massimo is very knowledgeable and has good English he told us lots about Sicilian cooking and what to watch out for in restaurants. The group was 16 we all got a chance to prepare parts of the three starters and two main courses. We had Prosecco before lunch and white and red wine withe meal I initially thought it was a bit pricey but was well worth the money. I would love to come to another class with massimo at a different time of year when other foods are in season. He checked for allergies and dietary restrictions. He lives down the hill from Taormina we walked down to casaisola. He arranged taxis for some of the other guests. His staff were pleasant also

The time spent cooking at Massimo's house was phenomenal. The views from his kitchen are breathtaking. He has a wonderful demeanor and is so passionate about preparing food with a big, constant smile. With other friends on our tour we prepared fresh pasta, tomato pesto, sea bass, and, best of all, stuffed zucchini flowers. Mouthwatering! It was an unforgettable experience.

My husband and I had an amazing experience with Massimo. It’s hard to find an authentic Sicilian experience in Taormina as it’s quite touristy, but this fit the bill! It was great to start off in the markets and have Massimo educate us on how to pick the best fresh, local produce. We learned a lot. The cooking was a lot of fun and the food was absolutely delicious, definitely the best we had in Italy. We did 6 countries in Europe over a month, and this was our favourite activity of the entire trip. Highly recommend!! And can’t wait to try the recipes at home. Thank you Massimo :)

This was our second class with Chef Massimo. It was exceptional. He brings the class to the market and teaches how to choose the best quality food. The cooking class itself is wonderful, lots of learning and fun, and then you are served the most incredible meal. He has the perfect personality and passion for what he does. Massimo’s cooking class was an amazing experience! We started with a tour of the local markets before heading to his home to prepare a wonderful selection of delicious local dishes. Everyone was involved in the process, making it both interactive and fun. The caponata was the best I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait to recreate it at home! Chef Massimo is incredible. The visits to the market and butcher shop were very informative. He explained and helped with every part of the food preparation and answered every question. He's extremely knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. The food and wine were amazing. This was our 2nd time with his class and will definitely go again! Highly recommend.

If you want to learn how to make authentic Sicilian cuisine, look no further, Chef Massimo is the real deal. His class fills up fast so book early. You will be taken by Massimo to the local markets in Taormina to choose the best produce, meat and fish for the class. The class is not too big so everyone gets the hands on experience of preparing the days menu. His classroom/kitchen is part of his home which is located high above overlooking the ocean. His staff is wonderful in assisting whatever is needed. Spectacular views and guess what? You get to eat all the food and wine as well! Great 5 star experience.

Wonderfully arranged cooking class with lots of hands-on experience with a variety of dishes including pasta, meat, fish and sauces. Chef Massimo's cooking class was one of the highlights of our honeymoon in Sicily. From the moment we arrived, Massimo made us feel so welcome. He is friendly, energetic and clearly passionate about what he does. We found the class easy and enjoyable to follow. Had the most fabulous day with Chef Massimo. First we got to tour the local markets and learn about shopping for high quality ingredients. Then we walked to Chef’s house perched along the cliff overlooking the sea. The outdoor dining space and the cooking stations were both set up with so much attention to detail. Chef has perfected this experience knows how to pack in a lot of information in a small amount of time and instruction for all cooking abilities. Massimo (and his staff) served as the perfect host to our private cooking class for 8 of us! His home served as the most beautiful backdrop to the cooking class and our actual dinner afterward. The food was great, and we appreciated the nice local wine that Massimo provided. I was a fairly skeptical husband on my wife wanting me to go to the cooking class with her. I’m not a cook and don’t go into the kitchen other than to grab a beer… This was a lot of fun. The chef is a really good guy and it is a very worthwhile program. The food was delicious. The house was fantastic and I didn’t even look on my phone for football scores one time… Highly recommend even for skeptical husbands.

A big WOW! What a great class. Our chef Massimo was so energetic and culturally informative..we learned a lot about local food and how to cook them. His kitchen and place of business was spectacular. The view! Just amazing. I can’t say enough wonderful things about him and his staff at the house. The spent a lot of time with us..felt very relaxed and hospitable. I highly recommend his cooking “event” ….it truly was memorable.

This class is 10000% worth your time and money!! My husband and I did this on our honeymoon and we’re blown away how amazing the experience is. Massimo is an incredible chef and teacher. Even learning how to better choose ingredients overall to the way to use them in dishes, to pasta making, it included it all. The meal from what we made was one of our favorites in Italy! We’ve even made one back home already!! I couldn’t recommend this class enough

Wonderful way to spend the day. We really enjoyed shopping and cooking with Chef Massimo at his beautiful seaside house. The food was very tasty and filling and by the end of the meal you have made new friends.

After our 10 days in Sicily, this was our favorite experience! The size of the group was great at just 11! Chef Massimo provided great tips, was welcoming, engaging, and most of all fun. We made so many dishes and the food was amazing! Our favorites were the pasta with the sundried tomato pesto, his grandma's salad, the meatballs in the lettuce leaf, the sea bass, and the caponata! We very much enjoyed everything about this class!

I went with my partner and he was a little apprehensive, especially as the other 3 people were female but we both really loved it Learned so much about food at the markets then Massimo ordered a taxi for 3 of us to get to his home, which is amazing. The lesson was brilliant and no one was made to feel awkward. Eating the meal afterwards and drinking the wine was delightful. Chef Massimo has emailed the recipes and we have decided that next Saturday is going to be a Sicilian night when we practice our pasta making! We would really recommend

Best experience and meal we had in our two week trip to Sicily.

Chef Massimo is amazing! The location/venue is amazing, and the cooking class was so fun! We learned a lot, and then had the most delicious lunch of our stay, and enjoyed delicious wine and food in an amazing setting. Everyone should sign up for this experience if you are in Taoromina! We had a large group, but Chef Massimo is genius at keeping everyone engaged, entertained, and constantly learning/having fun. Do yourself a favor, and book this class!

We spent a wonderful day cooking and learning from Chef Massimo He is such a friendly person who made us feel so relaxed and comfortable. There were 4 of us in the kitchen and with the help of Chef Massimo cooked lovely starters and 2 mains. Learned so much . All light hearted and fun. He even ordered a taxi to take us to his house after the market as we are of a certain age! If you are in Taormina, you really must do this

If I could give chef Massimo 6 stars, I would have. Everything he did exceeded our expectations. Everything we cooked was amazing and he was great at explaining every step. I had never had sun-dried tomato pesto and wow-amazing. The fish he cooked was fresh and tasted divine. I highly recommend him.
