Cooking Class In Palermo City Center

This was an amazing cooking class! Our hosts were one of the most gracious and welcoming couples. They shared their lovely home, stories growing up cooking with grandma, and the history of dishes of Sicily. They were attentive to allergies and food we preferred not to eat and presented a menu for us to cook that was one of the best we’ve had in Sicily. This is a cooking class to be sure is on your list!

This young couple is extraordinarily knowledgeable and passionate about food. The class takes place in their home. They are generous with explanations and answers to questions. The atmosphere is very friendly and casual. We loved it. They are wonderful hosts and teachers.

Alice and Francesco’s Sicilian cooking class was the best part of our Palermo trip. Completely hands-on — we made pasta from scratch, eggplant polpette, and semifreddo, with Alice and Francesco explaining the history behind every dish. They welcomed us into their home, then sat down and shared dinner with us, chatting about Italian heritage and giving us great local tips. Warm, generous hosts and a truly authentic experience. Highly recommend!

We would recommend the traditional Sicilian cooking class 100%. Alice and Francesco were so warm and welcoming and made our experience that much more enjoyable. We made an amazing traditional Sicilian meal including pantesca, fresh pasta ( we learned to make several different types) a green bean/tomato salad and a fantastic dessert made with sheep ricotta. Alice and Francesco taught us so much about all of the different cultural influences in Sicilian cooking and taught us to make a traditional Sicilian meal. This was one of our favorite meals while traveling through Italy and Sicily and we really enjoyed sharing it with our wonderful hosts.

Alice’s pasta cooking course with her partner Francesco was a brilliant experience. They were wonderful hosts in their lovely apartment in the centre of Palermo. Their knowledge of the history of Sicilian cookery was excellent and the whole evening was a delight. The three course meal my daughter and I made under their direction was delicious and their hospitality helped make the evening a truly memorable experience. I would highly recommend the booking of this course. Just brilliant.

We had the best time at Alice & Francesco’s cooking class in Palermo! Alice is very detailed oriented and technically perfect! Francesco told us the history of the dishes and how the ingredienys are sourced. We made a 3 course dinner comprised of CAPONATA DI MELANZANE, PASTA CON LA TONNINA and the best dessert ever -SEMIFREDDO ALLA RICOTTA. I never thought I would make pasta but I did! We were 2 couples in the class ; we are from India and they are from Ukraine. So there was a lot of wonderful cultural exchanges and knowledge transfer of cooking and dining traditions. I would highly recommend this cooking class in Palermo!! Thank you Alice and Francesco!!

What an amazing experience, Alice and Francesco were full of knowledge about the food we were preparing, and made the experience fun and inclusive for everyone. After 3 hours of cooking pasta from scratch we sat down and all shared in the bounty of which we created. Would definitely highly recommend to anyone looking to experience cooking some Sicilian cuisine. Having the shared meal really felt as if we were family.

Loved learning to cook fresh Sicilian food

We loved it. This is truly a cooking class and we learned a lot about making Siciliaan cuisine. The food was excellent as well as the chefs.

Alice and Francesco are terrific hosts. They explain the history and culture as you prepare the selected dishes. I was most interested to learn how to hand make pasta and to learn 5 different techniques. Everything was delicious as well. Definitely value for money.

I cannot possibly say enough nice things about our experience with Alice and Francesco!! It turned out to be just us 4 ( with myself and my husband) and it was the highlight of our trip to Palermo! Alice and Francesco are incredibly sweet and their home was very warm and inviting, and their knowledge of culinary arts is beyond incredible!! We made a 3-course meal and I learned things I will DEFINITELY use, in fact I already purchased some of the material needed to make pasta as soon as I returned home. If you are in Palermo DO TAKE THIS COURSE!! You will not regret it!! wish I could do it again!!

This class was 5 star! A very sweet couple welcomed us into their loving home . They took us through the steps of making a traditional Siclian dinner. We shared laughter and had a wonderful evening!

An incredible day!!! Prepared a 3-course Sisilian lunch with expert and patient help from Alicia and Francisco. Learned all the traditions of ingredients and preparation passed down from their "nonnas" in a classic, beautiful setting. Had a fabulous experience — learning how to tool eggplant balls, rolling various kinds of pastas, mixing seasonings, and mixing a ricotto dessert and then sitting down with our 2 hosts for some scrumptious eats. They even gave us the name of the best Gelato place in Palmero (!!!) and a family-owned out-of-the-way [but still walkable from out hotel] Sicilian restaurant (fabulous pasta) that caters to locals (and boy was it crowded on a Sunday night!). Both exceeded all expectations. So glad we meet them. But be aware: if you don't have any enthusiasm for learning to cook, having great conversations and don't like meeting locals...this is not for you.😉

We had a great evening preparing an authentic Sicilian 3-course menu. We were with a family of 8 ranging in age from 21 to 83 and all enjoyed the activity. Preparing the meal was great fun, but the chatting and eating the prepared food was the best. Alice and Federico are wonderful people.

I talked my friend into taking this cooking class and she thanked me later! We booked this class with Alice and Francesco in Palermo. We arrived at their beautiful home on a rainy evening. They were both very welcoming and gave us a brief introduction to what we would be preparing. Their English was very good which was a big relief! We made fresh pasta, which turned out great and was actually a lot of fun! The sauce we made for the pasta was absolutely delicious! We also made a dessert and a wonderful fennel and orange salad. If you enjoy cooking and eating, book the class! We finished by enjoying the dinner we created with Alice and Francesco. Hands down, I would do it again!

We made an outstanding Sicilian dinner for 4 people. We learned the ways to combine flavors, create special textures for each food and the significance and history of the Ingredients. They added all homemade compliments to our dinner. Their English was excellent and their home was beautiful. I have lived in many countries around the world so I knew how authentic this couple was being. They have studied culinary arts along with nutrition and the combined this to make a great menu. They are a very cute couple and Alice contacted me shortly after I reserved our date and time. We discussed my Sicilian roots and the foods I remember from my grandparents. She then put together a minute that complimented my memories. I very highly recommend this cooking school and these two chefs!!❤️🇮🇹

Outstanding hands-on cooking experience for our family of three (two adults and a six-year-old). We prepared and enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, paired with wine, in a warm and welcoming family home. The afternoon was filled with laughter, stories, and genuine insight into Sicilian culture and family life. An exceptional experience—I recommend it without hesitation. Come with an open mind, a healthy appetite, and a genuine curiosity to learn.

What a wonderful experience with Alice & Francesco. They were extremely knowledgeable in their cooking skills & eager to share their talent. Having cooked Sicilian cuisine for 30 years I originally just went to the class just for fun not expecting to learn new ideas. How wrong I was they taught me new ways to prepare and easier ways to achieve better results. Their passion for food science was evident in the delicious meal we prepared together. I had mentioned to them my love of artichokes & they specialized the menu to include several different ways to prepare them. The time spent cooking with them was the highlight of my trip. I would highly recommend them & this cooking class. Looking forward to visiting again with them next time I’m in Palermo.

We are a family of 6 and took this class the day we arrived in Palermo. Alice was wonderful- her English was very good and immediately put us at ease. We made incredible food with local- seasonal products. Alice had good "food science" knowledge and also vast knowledge of Sicilian culture. Highly highly recommend

It felt like dining with old friends in Palermo’s city center! They are so knowledgeable not only about the ingredients but also the history. This is a fantastic and unique experience! Highly recommended, an excellent value. I am an experienced cook and my husband is a novice, yet both of us had a blast and learned so much! Our hosts/teachers were so fun, knowledgeable and personable that we did not want the evening to end. The space is roomy, comfortable and perfectly suited for cooking hands-on and our meal together - eating the fruits of our labors - was like being at a close friend's dinner party. Our hosts' deep knowledge of the history of the ingredients, dishes, Palermo and Sicily made the meal extra special. Their passion for food and for sharing their culture was impressive.

What a lovely couple to welcome people into their home and teach them how to make traditional Sicilian dishes! My husband and I took this class on our honeymoon and I'm not usually fond of cooking but this was fun and interesting! Making our own pasta shapes was the highlight for me, as well as getting to eat everything we made. The hosts are wonderful and have many stories and recommendations!

Wonderful time at Francesco and Alice's cooking class. They explain the history of the local dishes you are making and the ingredients that you are using. Both provide clear step by step cooking instructions, demonstrations, and helpful hints along the way. Was so much fun that time flew by and before we knew it, we were sharing a delicious three course meal that we prepared together. Francesco and Alice are easily a pleasure to be with, excellent cooking instructors and we had a fun and fabulous experience with them.

Marco was an amazing person and great chef. We had the best time in Sicily at Marco’s cooking class. We highly recommend Marco’s cooking class to anyone visiting Sicily.

The cooking class was an amazing experience. Not only Alice and Francesco taught us how to prepare an incredible menu, they also shared pearls about Sicilian culture, language and history. All this capped with a dinner around their table. They are welcoming and warm, very generous when sharing their knowledge. Quite a special evening!

We had a wonderful time with the hosts. Alice and Francesco were professional, knowledgeable about Sicily's food history and at cooking - and fun to share this experience with. The menu was nicely planned out and everything was delicious. We definitely learned to make things we can repeat when we get home and plan to (we even bought a couple of little tools to help us out for when we cook at home - THERE WAS NO PRESSURE or even mention to buy - I just happened to notice the tools on the side table and asked) . They were fun and interesting to chat with and patient with us as we cooked :) They were happy to impart their knowledge to us of the region and the food we made. A really nice time. It felt like home with Alice and Francesco. It was so much fun to make pasta and a delicious dessert from scratch. We had a great time and enjoyed excellent food together. Alice and Francesco are both great teachers and they definitely brought us closer to the Sicilian cuisine. The evening has been our favourite Palermo experience!!!

You are welcomed into the private home of Francesco and Alice. Their kitchen and dining room are central to the experience. Their knowledge of italian cuisine is extensive and not isolated strictly to one region where they grew up. Of course, grandmother references abound, but the practical aspects of modern cooking are prevalent. You get a deep explanation of every dish prepared and the historical origins of these dishes. They also are able to converse about many other topics to make the time fly by as if it were just mere seconds in the kitchen. A visit to Palermo is not complete without diving into the culinary past and present of Sicily. A wonderful time and a great meal shared.

Alice and Francesco were amazing hosts and so fun to chat with! This class is a great mix of food history, food science, and fun. We really enjoyed learning about the foods we were making and sharing in entertaining conversation. Alice even provided me with links to some activities in Marsala when I told her we were going there. You should definitely book this experience!!

Had a wonderful morning cooking in Palermo. The apartment was easy to locate and Francesco and Alice were friendly and informative throughout the lesson. We cooked a lovely three course meal with another two couples. It was a great experience and the company was superb.

Alice and Francesco taught us how to prepare fresh pasta, pesto, caponata and bianco mangare, a complete dinner. They are very welcoming, and give meticulous instructions. I really learned a lot and feel confident to put everything in to practice at home. Also they know a lot about the regional products and the history of many foods. So me and my husband had a very fun, interesting and educational evening. We recommend it 100%.
